My final instalment of our wild Monte Carlo night at the Amber Lounge. It’s race day in Monaco today and to be honest, a little bit too loud for us, so we’re keeping out of the way. We all remember what happened when Amber and Ken were at the Grand Prix last year! Heidi tried to trash Ken’s car and on Friday she tried to outshine Amber on the black carpet…

As soon as Amber spotted her being papped she got straight on the Twitter….

Heidi, it turned out, was the least of our worries. Vanessa Hudgens reappeared in her sparkly Alberta Ferretti gown…

When suddenly she realised someone had stolen her chicken fillets….

Could it have been Jennifer Lawrence?

Probably not, though she did try and distract us by practising her curtsy for our royal VIPs…

Or was she just slipping on the black carpet? Here is her boyfriend Nicholas Hoult laughing…

So it’s taken all day to edit up my photos from last night’s amazing event at the Amber Lounge in Monaco. Apologies for the delay. Amber herself did plenty of tweeting live from the black carpet and we had super fun mingling with the models and stars backstage…

It’s a big day for Barbie of the Day today. We’re heading over to Monaco for a pre Grand Prix (Prix Grand Prix?) event hosted by the glamorous Amber Lounge. Billed as the Ultimate VIP nightlife experience tonight Amber Lounge will play host to some very fashionable faces at a fabulous fashion show.
Who better to call then, than BOTD’s Amber? The perfect party girl, Amber has been invited to tweet her way through the event, live from the red carpet, the catwalk and maybe even backstage if she flutters her eyelashes enough. I love a super yacht, don’t you? I’m lucky enough to live by the sea, or to be precise a very expensive bit of sea, which means I see them all the time. Proper gazillion dollar boats with TVs bigger than BOTD Towers and swimming pools and helipads and gyms and ice rinks(probably). With the Festival de Cannes and the Monaco Grand Prix it’s all about partying on a yacht. From Diddy to Roberto Cavalli. It’s all about the boat. The dolls have great sea legs (great legs in general let’s face it) which is good because it’s all about legs and feet and not about shoes. Heaven forbid you mark that teak. Bye bye Louboutins. Hello perfect pedicures. Time to step out out of those sparkly pumps and show some toe.

Flower Power

If you want to get ahead at the Chelsea Flower Show… BOTD looked scarily out of touch yesterday at the Chelsea Flower Show press day. Why was nobody else wearing a hat? We got our Isabella Blow on and went all out in this giant leafy number but there was a distinct lack of headgear this year. Are hats out? No hat for Joan Collins. No hat for Holden. Even our friend Liz showed up without her usual titfer.

A hairnet with some leaves glue-gunned on? Seriously? You better step it up for the Jubilee, love. Take a leaf (haha I crack myself up) out of our book.

Death Disco

And another one bites the dust!
The disco divas are dropping like flies this weekend. First Donna Summer, now Robin Gibb. We love the Bee Gees and any excuse to throw on our Bianca Jagger white suit and we’re not the only ones. Miley Cyrus wore her own tribute on the Billboard Awards’ red carpet last night before he was even cold.

Cher the Love

Happy Birthday Cher!
What an icon! Cher has been recreated by Mattel with the brilliant Bob Mackie for Barbie, a handful of times, an honour shared only with Miss Monroe. I love love love the dolls almost as much as I love Cher. Scroll down to pick your favourite. I love the 80s fishnet Turn Back Time look and if I didn’t have a real job would have spent all week recreating a mini cannon for her to straddle. But the 70s native American outfit is definitely my favourite. Perfect for a Sunday stroll, here on the beach or perhaps calling in to church or swinging by the boulangerie for a baguette.
In the same year I saw Miss Spears and Miss Aguilera perform live in concert, I saw the beyond amazing Cher. There really was no comparison and she remains the best showman(!) I’ve ever seen on stage. As she said at the opening of the show…

Sparkling in Cannes

With a Cartier, a Boucheron and a Fred on La Croisette, there really is no excuse for not being blinged up to the nines on the red carpet during festival.
Chopard is an official partner of the festival and have an entire collection devoted to the Cannes red carpet and the Magnificent Marilyn Set.

Oooh. Sparkly, right? As big Marilyn fans and huge fans of Smash we think this would make the perfect birthday gift (two weeks to go people, this is your two weeks warning) and would look great on the dolls, on me, on the bus. Click here to see the intricate “making of”.
