Holiday office hours

All Barcelona GSE offices will be closed for the winter holiday break. Offices will close on Thursday, December 22 at 17.30h and reopen on Monday, January 2 at 9.00h.

The online application form will continue to function as usual. Requests for assistance with the application, as well as any emails sent to the Admissions Office during this period, will be answered when the office reopens in January.

Admissions question from the Barcelona GSE Facebook Group: Can I submit my application if I haven’t taken the GRE yet?

Question from Barcelona GSE Facebook Group member on 22 November 2011:

“I will apply for Master program for next fall. I got all documents but GRE score. I will probably take it on January 3rd, so score will come by the end of January… So, what do you suggest me to do. Apply now without GRE and than wait for 2 months for GRE results, or wait and apply with results?”

Answer from Barcelona GSE Admissions:

You can submit your application without GRE/GMAT scores. Do not wait to receive your scores – apply now and upload the scores when you receive them. Since the Barcelona GSE has a rolling admissions process, we always advise you to apply as early as possible to avoid getting closed out of your master program.

Remember, GRE/GMAT scores are an optional piece of the application package. From the Barcelona GSE Admissions web page:

“Good scores on these examinations will be positively valued by the admissions committee and could be a decisive factor in those cases in which applications do not contain enough information to determine the candidate’s potential for academic success in the master program.” http://j.mp/svrPAI

Required documents include your academic transcript, CV, statement of purpose and reference letters. Please refer to the application checklist to review the list of required documents for the master program application.

You can upload new test scores any time. Applicants will be able to upload new test scores to the online application at any time during the admissions process. (You will also be able to upload new scores for English exams.)

The Barcelona Graduate School of Economics is pleased to announce the opening of the application period for the academic year 2012-2013.

The Barcelona GSE offers master programs in Economics, Finance and related fields. In addition to programs from previous years, in September 2012 we will offer the first edition of the new Economics of Public Policy master program.

Places are limited, so be sure to complete your application as soon as possible. Applications for each program will close when all places have been filled.

Applications for 2011-12 master programs at Barcelona GSE are now closed.

If you are interested in the 2012-13 edition, you will be able to apply beginning in Fall 2011. Exact date to be announced.

The admissions committee for the 2011-12 edition of the Barcelona GSE master programs has announced that it will close applications on Monday, September 12 at 9:00am (CEST – Barcelona time).

If you have already begun the application: To be considered for 2011-12 programs, you must complete your application before the deadline. This includes receipt of both reference letters, sent to the GSE by your referees. If your application is not complete by the deadline, you will no longer be able to access it via the online system and you will not be considered for the 2011-12 programs.

The Barcelona GSE website will undergo routine maintenance on August 10. It will be unavailable until approximately 21:00 (Barcelona time).

The Admissions Office and UPF Ciutadella Campus buildings will be closed from August 8 to August 19 for vacation.

EU applicants can still submit the application until the end of August. Applications submitted during the month of August will be reviewed at the beginning of September.

If you are interested in the 2012-13 edition, you will be able to apply beginning in Fall 2011. Exact date to be announced.
