1. Boathouse online team store is now open.   You can purchase customized merchandise directly from the store for a limited time.  Go to link below. Please be advised that this is the only new team merchandise that will be available for this season. Most of the gear offered is be part of the racing uniform. The vest is highly recommended (sample sizes will be available at practices – Feb. 27 – March 2). It helps the body core warm up quickly and stay warm during cold weather racing. If you want to wear a hat while racing, the Racing Hat is the only one to have. The Unstructured Hat is a cotton twill baseball hat.

Parents should check out the fleece jacket (sample will be in the IT room Feb. 27 – March 2), baseball hat and polo shirt.

2. JL Vertex Long Sleeve Shirt  Athletes would use it as a training warm-up shirt – worn over their practice gear or for casual wear. Also, it would be great to see all our parents at the tailgate wearing a matching team shirt! If you spend anytime outdoors, this is the shirt to have. It’s considered a base layer. It’s loose fitting – the fabric is called Vertex. It’s lightweight, the shirt you put on before the fleece. It provides warmth but also acts as a sun protector for those blistering UV days. This shirt is standard issue for the US Rowing Team. Shirts come in Men’s and Women’s sizes. $30

Taylor LeBlanc won the 100 Breaststroke race at the League Meet.  Taylor holds the 200 Individual Medley and 100 breaststroke records and is a member of all three record holding relay teams.
Nick Walker holds Bromfield’s 100 yard butterfly record and is a member of all three record holding relay teams.
Heidi Nocka won the 100 freestyle race at the League Meet and is on the 200 and 400 freestyle relay record holding teams

Winter Training 2012

There were 70 athletes from 6 public schools competing on the erg for 2000 meters. We had 5 boys and 6 girls from our team take on the challenge. There were 70 athletes from 6 public schools competing on the erg for 2000 meters. We had 5 boys and 6 girls from our team take on the challenge.
With the results in, the coaches agree, winter training is clearly paying off!

All the boys PR’d and we had 3 PR’s from the girls.

The girl’s also placed first in their class categories: freshman – Molly Hart, sophomore – Sylvia Sarnik and junior – Olivia Maclean
And an added bonus, Sylvia’s time was the fastest overall lightweight time and Olivia was the fastest open weight time.

It was a great job by all out athletes. Congrats to all and thanks to all the parents who came out to support the team.
