Holiday mini-sessions announced!

Limited Edition Mini Sessions- Friday AND Saturday- September 24 and 25

On Friday September 24 and Saturday September 25, I will be offering a limited number of holiday mini sessions in a park setting. These offer the perfect opportunity to capture a few great shots- whether you would simply like to document a new milestone, capture a shot for use in your holiday cards, or wrap up those holiday gifts quickly and easily!

Sessions are $125 ($99 for the Friday mini) and include:
-20 minutes to capture the individual child, siblings or a few family shots
-8-12 images in a private online gallery (5 day ordering period)
-Exclusive mini collections and other special offers

Mini sessions are intended to give a feel for the full Barefoot Photography experience, to capture just a few special shots, or for those who have recently had full sessions and just need a little something to tie them over until their next Barefoot session. Due to the shortened nature of these sessions, we will focus on a particular shot – whether that be sibling shots, family shots, individuals of one or two children, etc. If we have time after we have gotten that shot, we may be able to capture others but communication and prioritizing is key as we simply cannot “do it all” as we can during a full session. These sessions are not recommended if you are seeking a variety of poses and groupings or if multiple backgrounds or outfits are desired. They may also be unsuitable for babies who are unable to sit unassisted (determined case by case).

If you are interested in gathering a few friends for your own private mini session day either at your home or a favorite location, please give me a call for details. There are incentives for the host for doing so including having your session fee waived!

Fall sessions and holiday timelines

Fall is the busiest season of the year for a portrait photographer- and with good reason. The temperatures are a bit cooler and people begin thinking of getting a great photograph for their holiday cards along with some portraits for gift giving. The schedule is now open, so what are you waiting for? Contact me today to set up your fall session.

Sessions remain available in both September and October and we even have some warm (hot) days left to enjoy an end of summer session!

Last date for session with holiday delivery: Friday, November 5

Current clients will be receiving a newsletter this afternoon with the announcement of the fall mini-sessions to be held late September. Returning clients always have first selection of dates and times before the minis are opened to new clients (if any remain available). I am holding two dates this year so expect to announce the minis on the blog next week. If you are a returning client and do not receive the newsletter this afternoon, please contact me so that I can get the information to you.

I hope everyone has been enjoying their summers as much as I have! I will be off until the kiddos return to school on August 23. Calls and emails will be returned at that time.

I will also announce fall mini dates that week as well as the holiday deadlines. I know it barely seems possible that we should need to think about the holidays on a day when temperatures are soaring toward 100 degrees, but truly, it will sneak up on us!

A steamy evening in Annapolis (child photography)

I’ve been photographing these boys for years now and I am always happy to see them and their mom We had an exceptionally steamy evening in Annapolis- but then again, haven’t most evenings been hot and steamy in Annapolis this summer? Of course, being boys, they were relatively indifferent to the conditions and happy to be out exploring. Here are a few to share from their session:

Revisiting Capital Hill (child and family photography)

It’s been a long time since I have seen this family! 4 years ago, their oldest was a rolly polly infant and now he’s a baseball-playing, joking, laughing, sprinkler-jumping, happy four AND A HALF year old *who is really closer to 5, but I’m just going by what he told me and who am I to correct a 4.5 year old Since that time, they have added to their happy family and I was so happy to meet their youngest with his adorable smile and precious curls.

New album option- the image cover

I wanted to share a new product upgrade I just started offering this year- the image cover album. Instead of a fabric cover, which were already available in so many colors and patterns to make choosing difficult, now there’s another option. Your album can be customized to be even more one-of-a-kind by adding a photo from your session right into the cover. Printed on silk and then laminated in a protective coating, these are absolutely gorgeous!

And because I have not shared from this newborn twins’ session from a couple months back, here are a few of my favorites of these adorable babies:

Here’s a family I have known since photographing their firstborn almost two years ago. It is always a pleasure to watch great families as they add new members. And of course, I love being able to meet their newest little ones!

Big brother willingly helped me out while I was testing my settings:

He is not quite two years older than his little brother so we had to stay real close so the baby didn’t get *too much* love.

There was some waiting involved in getting the little guy convinced to sleep for us- but once he did, he was out.

It was wonderful seeing your family again and sharing your newest joy!
