It's cut our winter electric bill in half. We had no air conditioning before we installed this unit so our summer electric bills are a little higher depending on how hot our summers are here in the Northwest. This unit has performed flawlessly with no maintenance except for vacuuming the filters. It's so quite that we barely hear the inside unit and the outside unit is also very quite. It also has a very handy remote control. We have a 2000 sq ft one level home and this unit, with just one evaporator mounted in the family room, heats and cools the entire home except for the master bath. It's amazing the amount of heat that it puts out even in the cold winter. This unit is bigger than was recomended by the contractor. My thought was to have a higher output unit that would not have to work as hard. I could of had a smaller less expensive unit. The inside mounted evaporator is fairly large hanging on the wall near the ceiling but after a while we don't even notice it. When visitors come over they don't even notice it unless we point it out. With this 30,600 btu unit you could run 3 or 4 more inside units, say to upstairs bedrooms. This is a much less expensive way to have heat and air conditioning installed in an exesisting home that doesn't have duct work. Some public unilities offer rebates for ductless pumps.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

Discount Alpha Electric Igniter Portable Propane Gas Stove Range Camping

<a href="
Customer Ratings:

I read some of the reviews about this burner and I was somewhat nervous about purchasing. I hunted for something similar, but all searches lead me back to this model. The burner is well made, quite heavy metal, and worked fabulously. The starter kicked in the flame each time, although I did have a long lighter handy in case. I used this burner to prepare paella on my new 15" paella pan. I loved it. Heavy duty, worked well for me, was easy to light and control the flame... I am glad I took a chance on this one!
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
I purchased this burner to melt lead in a large cast iron pot. I was frustrated with the smaller burner I had as it would take over 2 hours to melt 30lbs of lead. This burner is very stable and had a 30 pound pot of lead melted to 600 degrees in just 40 minutes, and with the flame control, I could easily set the heat down to keep the temperature constant. Wish I had bought this a year ago. It attached easily to a standard propane tank for the grill. Electric start does not always fire it up on the first try, but I have never known an electric start to work 100% anyway.

Best Deals on Alpha Electric Igniter Portable Propane Gas Stove Range Camping

Great burner low is low for keeping warm and high is high enough for wok cooking. It is hard to find a burner that can do both. This is the one. The hose is maybe 4 feet which is a good length. Fitting on the regulator is correct for a USA propane tank.

However it has a few quirks:

* It is for a table so the table needs to be metal or a heatproof material. It gets hot underneath.

* The other item to watch out for is the flared fitting connection. This unit came with a rubber gasket. Check with your plumber or gas technician to see if a gasket is EVER needed on a brass flare fitting. I have many propane stoves with the same flared fitting and NONE of them have a gasket. I did try using the gasket and seals well and does not leak but the fitting sure feels funny and not rock solid like my other stove fittings.

Honest reviews on Alpha Electric Igniter Portable Propane Gas Stove Range Camping

Nice solid product, not to happy with the hose and regulator, it just has regular hose clamps on it and the tank connection don't fit on the new 25lb tanks.

It needs the little (tit or male pin )to push the gas valve in when you tighten it so if you buy the stove you have to buy a new hose and regulator.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Alpha Electric Igniter Portable Propane Gas Stove Range Camping

I purchased the Big Bertha stove to fire up a large (7 quart jar capacity) pressure cooker for canning. Upon arrival, the stove was banged around during shipping and did not sit level upon a flat surface. I was able to file down the offending leg slightly and now it sits rock solid level. In operation, this stove gets hellishly hot, it can boil a full pot of water in minutes. The 6 ft gas hose is rather sticky and smells of plastic resins and chemicals. This stove works well, has a full range of adjustment and puts out sufficent heat for pressure canning purposes. You can set a large pot on this unit with the controls being accessable.

Cheap Great Northern Popcorn Red Foundation Antique Style Popcorn Popper

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $299.95
Sale Price: $145.80
Today's Bonus: 51% Off

I purchase a Foundation Popcorn Machine best deal I have ever made. I was sitting in the room and smelled something burning, picked up the unit and everything looked fine. 20 minutes later the unit shut off. When I unplugged the unit, the plug had melted. From the way that it had melted, it was clear that something was wrong with the plug. I liked the product, but this made me worry. I don't know if I will replace it with the same thing.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
So I used to love this heater. It served me well for a little under a year. But just tonight as I was trying to turn it on the plug had a tiny explosion and the reset button melted. I have no idea what caused it but I found it very unnerving. Now looking for a replacement. Not sure if I will replace it with the same model.

Best Deals on Black & Decker BDHF200 Heater Fan

I have owned this heater for few months.... great safety features... for a home with a seven month old crawler..... the setting small room, large room are great for the size of the room you want to heat...heats instantly... proud to own one and would certainly recommend one with homes with kid for the extra warmth we need as winter is approching.

Honest reviews on Black & Decker BDHF200 Heater Fan

Works Great. Our house heater went out and cant afford a new one, don't need to fix it now. I would definately recommend this heater. we had bought one of those fake fireplace heaters they look great but took it back it didn't work anywhere close to the vorando heater for a fourth of the cost.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
I recently purchased this for an office that is about 20' x 10'. When I first turned it on within 5 minutes the whole office area was heated. I had to turn down the heat to a lower heating setting (it has 3 settings) so the office area wasn't overly heated. The safety feature of automatically shutting off if it is moved or tilted is a really great feature. It would be nice if it had a remote control or a thermostat control to set a specific temperature but that shouldn't stop you in purchasing this little heating marvel. You don't need to point this heater directly at you for warmth. It takes the heated air and evenly circulates it throughout the room. I own a Vornado air circulator at home and use it during the hot summer months. It works great....that is why I purchased this product. It is basically the same Vornado air circulator only with a heater inside of it. It gets a 4 1/2 star rating from me...but Amazon ratings don't do 1/2 points.

Best Deals on Vornado VH110 Whole Room Vortex Heater

This is my second Vornado VH110 purchase in 6 months. I have bought electric heaters before from different manufacturers and none of them withstood the normal wear and tear as well as the test of time like these Vornado heaters. Most of the ones I got at the big superstores caught dust in the grill after about 6 months of use and ended up just giving up and dying or even starting to burn the dust and grime inside stinking up the room and causing them to sound like a small airliner is about to land. Needless to say I had to bite the bullet and buy another one, and then another one and so on. A friend turned me onto Vornado heaters. I have to say I have never seen a small size heater heat up my high ceiling room so well, yet it only feels warm to the touch. This thing is quiet and seems to be very efficient it doesn't seem to burn the element inside as hot as the other heaters, and yet circulates the air a lot better then the 2700 watt higher powered heaters sold at Walmart. I am very impressed with the engineering of these little marvels and will recommend these to my friends too.

Honest reviews on Vornado VH110 Whole Room Vortex Heater

It is a very nice heater and I love it at first...until the exterior cracked in 30 days. I suspect is the heat that caused the plastic exterior to expand and then crack open. Now there is an rattling piece of plastic inside the heater and I stopped using it. Amazon is replacing it with a new one at no cost since it's about 30 days since I received the item. I can't imagine what Amazon would do if it broke later and I would have lost the moeny I spent on this heater. I just hope the new one will last.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Vornado VH110 Whole Room Vortex Heater

This heater works super great! I have a really drafty room in an old house, and now I can't even tell with how warm the room feels with the Vornado. It circulates the air so well that I don't feel like I have to stay near my heater to stay warm which is nice.

Cheap World Marketing Pelonis ClassicCeramic Furnace

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $112.99
Sale Price: $94.66
Today's Bonus: 16% Off

Since I already owned this same model Pelonis heater for 4 or 5 years, I was pleased to find it again and expected the same quality from the Pelonis brand. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The new heater's thermostat failed right after being turned on for the first time. Unlike my older heater, the new version now features a manual mode as if they do expect the thermostat to fail. With the manual mode, the heater can still be used by setting the speed, but it's definitely not as nice as the original one of this same model. It's also simply too much money to pay for something that does not work as described. Like most things these days, the quality is way less than products we used to be able to purchase with confidence.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
I purchased this item after reading the claimed performance. I have a room in the lower level of my house that is generally colder than the rest of the house. Rather than run the furnace, I usually use a small space heater. Unfortunately, most space heaters don't work that well.

And neither does this. For all the promised performance, cheaper existing heaters I own work better. This thing is not quiet, and ran a long time before providing measurable increase in temperature (one of few benefits of this heater is the digital temperature gauge that let me know how well it was not working).

I'm sure this product does well at heating small rooms or the underside of a desk, but for the price you can buy two heaters that do just as well.

Adding insult to injury, between the restocking fee and shipping, I ended up paying a third of the cost of the unit just to find out it did not work.

Best Deals on World Marketing Pelonis ClassicCeramic Furnace

I already own a Pelonis IV, and ordered the V to use in our RV. It's great. Quiet, has a nice thermostat with digital temp. display. Works as well as I expected, and I'm quite happy with it.

Honest reviews on World Marketing Pelonis ClassicCeramic Furnace

I own this product. It operates very quietly and really puts out the heat for a small space, used in a bathroom. Efficient.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for World Marketing Pelonis ClassicCeramic Furnace

I bought this heater as an additional unit, my original Pelonis' fan bearing had become noisy after many years, but was still putting out great heat FAST. Actually, the bearing noise goes away after the unit warms up, just rather noisy until then. I've had the unit apart, but can't find how to service the bearing or replace it, probably not replaceable. So I bought the new one in case it finally dies.

The new heater's fan doesn't ramp up as responsively as the original, and it seems the thermostat sensor, located on the cord, is much less sensitive than the older model, which is actually located inside the fan housing, making it far more sensitive to temp changes. I have to run the thermostat setting much higher, i.e. set it on 80-82 F to actually get a room temp of 75F. Maybe a redesign, placing the sensor inside, as it was previously, would cure this.

Those caveats aside, the heater puts out strong heat quickly, and will easily take care of an average-size living room, but not a huge room. Easily keeps a bedroom/bathroom toasty, once you get the 'stat calibrated to your preference

Discount Fire Sense Commercial Patio Heater, Stainless Steel and Black

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $229.99
Sale Price: $212.46
Today's Bonus: 8% Off

The propane patio heater I purchased arrived on time no damage. The problem came once it was assembled, the factory welds that hold the tubing and base were welded in such a way that the entire heater leans at an angle. It is still functional but is visibly crooked. I'm gonna add a video if possible to show exactly what I mean. Unfortunately I ordered it for a surprise for my wife, but work was busy and the weather stayed nice longer than expected so I didn't assemble it til a month after it arrived. Due to the wait it left me out of the return period, otherwise I wouldn't even know that it was still functional. Since I'm stuck with it I use it, but it is awful looking! For $200+ dollars it should be well made and stand strait, but it doesn't! We call it the leaning tower of junk!
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
BEWARE: This item is deceptively identified as being made of Stainless Steel and black powder coating. Powder coating is a type of paint finish not a material. All of the black powder coated surfaces are made of steel and will eventually rust. In fact the only part I can identify by using a magnet as being stainless steel is the top of the tank housing. I'm disappointed and probably will return it since previous FIre Sense heaters that were powder coated have rusted badly.

Best Deals on Fire Sense Commercial Patio Heater, Stainless Steel and Black

What you need to know about stainless steel is that there is magnetic (400) and non-magnetic (300) stainless steel. 400 series stainless steel is not as durable or corrosion (rust) resistant as 300 series. If you want durability in your stainless steel gas grill put a magnet on it. If the magnet sticks, don't buy it.

Honest reviews on Fire Sense Commercial Patio Heater, Stainless Steel and Black

The quality of this product was very disappointing. The stamped sheet metal frame and base provides no support. I thought I was purchasing a "commercial" grade product, which in fact this was not. The base and shaft are too unstable making it, in my opinion, dangerous. I have spent an amount equal to the purchase price just to modify the product so that it has the stability and weight for outdoor use.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Fire Sense Commercial Patio Heater, Stainless Steel and Black

my second deck heater in five years doesnt heat up all the way and i can smell gas cant take it apart to check for leaks cant find a repair person or the manufacturer dont buy one of these piece of crap fire sense deck heater.

Best Max Burton 6010 8-Inch Induction Interface Disk with Heat-Proof

This kind of freaked us out, as you don't normally see that kind of behaviour in major appliances.

Upon immediately turning it off, we examined everything and noted rather large blisters in the thin metal sheeting on this disk. It no longer sat flat, and very little of the disk would make contact with the burner any more.

It lasted an incredible half of a second before breaking.

We contacted the company from which we bought it on Amazon (don't remember who it was so consider this review to be of the item, not the seller), and heard nothing back.

Fifty bucks flushed down the toilet.

NOT recommended.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
This item does everything the manufacturer claims. All cookware can now be used on an induction cook-top, the tri-ply disk distributes the heat evenly, and the silicone handle is comfortable to hold, remaining cool in use.

I have an aluminum pressure canner, a non-stick hard-anodized sauce pan reserved for milk-based sauces and custards, a glass vacuum coffee pot, and several other items of cookware made of non-magnetic materials which are not induction compatible. Were it not for these items, I would not have bought this interface which effectively reduces the controllability, instant response, and efficiency to below that of a radiant cook-top.

Buy this item if you must retain cookware which is not induction compatible it will work well with them.

BUT... it makes absolutely no sense to hobble an induction cook-top's capabilities after paying its premium cost.

AND... It is far more than twice the price I would expect to pay for this item when comparing it with the price of an economy set of tri-ply, induction compatible cookware (which can now be found for around $150).

Sooner or later a competitor will challenge this manufacturer's monopoly and prices will fall. Until then it merits a very reluctant overall score of 4 stars. Were it not for my "special" items of cookware, this would warrant 2 stars.

Best Deals on Max Burton 6010 8-Inch Induction Interface Disk with Heat-Proof

This interface disk worked great when boiling water in my NON-magnetic tea kettle... And it DOES let you use just about ANY pot or pan you own on an induction cooktop. BUT, for it's simple design and manufacturing, the price is DOUBLE what it should be !!!!!! Go ahead, bite the bullet.. what else can you do to be able to use your existing pots and pans ?? By the way, 4 cups of water boiled 30 seconds FASTER using this AND the Burton induction cooktop, than it did on my smooth glass cooktop on high ! I just HAD TO compare the two !!!!

Honest reviews on Max Burton 6010 8-Inch Induction Interface Disk with Heat-Proof

I thought this interface disk would be a nice adjunct to the old pans, especially popcorn popper that wouldn't work on the new induction oven. I was wrong! Just today, I tried it for the first time on popcorn. When the "test" kernels weren't popping, I checked the temperature of the bottom of the pan. It was MUCH too low. Then I checked the induction plate temperature with both a digital probe as well as infrared temperature. Way Low! I switched to a regular induction pot and the temperature zoomed right up and the popcorn was done promptly. In order to shake the pot and not scratch the glass top surface, I placed a paper towel underneath during cooking. While it browned a bit it worked like a charm and I was able to shake the pan on the cook top without it scratching.

I hope you read this and NOT buy this product! It was a waste of money!

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Max Burton 6010 8-Inch Induction Interface Disk with Heat-Proof

I was really looking forward to purchasing an induction disk so that i could continue to use my non-induction ready pans on my new Kenmore Elite slide in stove. First use, the stove's induction cooktop instantly recognized the disk's magnetic characteristics and kicked right in. A few seconds later the stove went into error mode and the stove completely shut down and would not respond while the disk remained on the burner. The error code would not clear while the disk was on the stove. Once I removed the disk and replaced it with a magnetic pan, the error code went away and the stove resumed to work like a charm. I repeated the process several times. Each time the disk sent the stove into a error mode. Previously and since, the stove works great with all other magnetic fry pans and pots. I don't know why I had a problem with this disk. Perhaps other stoves would not experience the same difficulties.

Review of EdenPURE US GEN4 Model US 1000 Portable Electric Space / Room

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $397.00
Sale Price: $277.23
Today's Bonus: 30% Off

We live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC and the winters can be quite harsh. Our 3200 sq ft home is heated by a natural gas furnace. After watching Bob Villa's infomercial we puchased the EdenPURE GEN4 HEATER and we couldn't be happier. This is our 3rd winter using the heater. We shut off a portion of the house by closing doors and only heat that area with the heater. This heater will keep our bedroom, hallway, den and kitchen at a very comfortable temperature and I am cold natured. Last winter we spent less than $300 on natural gas because we used the EdenPURE as a supplemental heat source. Our electricity bill only increased about $15-$20 per month. This is an excellent product and in 3 years of use we have never had any issues with the unit.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
This is my first review I have written on Amazon. I just that it would be useful to warn consumers about this product.

I have now been the unfortunate owner of a gen 3 and Gen 4 Edenpure heaters. I have yet to have one of these heaters make it through an entire winter season. I bought my first Edenpure in October, 2010. I stared using the heater at the end of November beginning of December. The heater stopped heating at the end of January 2011. So after barely 2 months of daily use the heater stopped heating.

I live in Arkansas so the winters are mild at best. Rarely dose it ever dip below 20 degrees at night. Most of the time the temperature is between 30-40 degrees. Since I was just barely over the 3 month mark I could not return this item for a refund. Instead I had to settle for an exchange. I received my exchanged unit on February 21st, 2011. I used the until the end of April and boxed it up and stored it until the next winter season. So I start using the heater again in December 2011 and on January 18th, 2012 the unit stops heating completely. So an 11-month-old unit that has only seen 3-4 months of continual use craps out on me. That is just unacceptable.

These units are cheaply made plastic bricks and are not built to last. The heaters are big, boxy, noisy and hideous to look and for almost $400 you would think it would include a digital thermostat that reads room temperature but it does not. These heaters are also extremely slow to heat up an open door room around 300sq ft. Even though the advertising says 1000 sq ft. Buy one of these heaters if you want to go through the hassle of spending $30 every year for shipping to exchanging this heater out for a new one.

Best Deals on EdenPURE US GEN4 Model US 1000 Portable Electric Space / Room

We bought our first EdenPure a couple of winters ago and I used it to heat the upstairs of our old farmhouse where my home office was. It sure was so much better and cheaper to run than the old small heaters that I used to run. It is quiet and even though I had the heater in the hallway, I could feel the heat surround me in my office 15 feet or more away. We loaned our heater to my in-laws to use in their livingroom while my father-in-law was in end stages of cancer and it has not come back as my mother-in-law uses it daily for extra warmth. We are planning on buying another to replace the original. Great product!!

Honest reviews on EdenPURE US GEN4 Model US 1000 Portable Electric Space / Room

I own two EdenPure Heating units and have had NO trouble with them that I wasn't warned about. I had one unit start to blow cold air and figured the bulbs must be burned out... then remembered to CLEAN the filter... Cleaned it and it went right back to working wonderfully. I have owned these units for over 4 years and for those who complain and give a one rating, they are obviously from the competition. I have found them to work well for what they are designed for... to heat a room. BUT I heat my entire house (1100 sqft) in ALASKA with two of these units. We dropped our electric bill from about 250 in the winter to 150.00. I heat my house year round for under 1000.00 a year... quite amazing! I am currently thinking very seriously about buying one to heat my business, which uses baseboard, that I can't keep on all night due to the cost. I do not see this unit as being cheaply made... my remote has never not worked... I don't think I have even had to change the battery in 4 years and I use the remote every time I turn it on. I like the long cord, I can easily move the machine about the room to bring more heat to a location I am at. I did a lot of research on this product before I bought it, but a very positive review from my cousin got me to buy one, and I have been very pleased with this purchase.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for EdenPURE US GEN4 Model US 1000 Portable Electric Space / Room

A friend recommended EdenPURE and I'm glad we took their advise.

The five year warranty on the motor was incentive enough for me.

The number of increments of heat regulation make the comfort level easy to adjust for the large open area I want to heat.

We bought a second one for a Christmas gift for the Daughter because she had an inadequate "air/heat "source.

EdenPURE solved that heating problem in fifteen minutes.

Yes," I love it "and gave a five star rating.

Reviews of Sure Heat Infrared Gas Space Heater with Thermostat and

Both heaters had rub marks as they were poorly packed with only paper to protect them allowing them to rock in the box. We installed them in late Aug and tested them when it was hot (when hot they worked OK). Sep 14th was our first cool day so we lit them and both heaters lit in the orifice area burning flames behind and several inches overtop the bricks which is potentially dangerous. There was a sound like a jet engine at a distance so we immediately turned off the heaters and turned off the propane as a safety measure. We doubled checked to insure the heaters were set for propane and they were. Today Sept 16th we has a specialist, with 25 years experience fixing gas heaters, come out and he said the heaters have a bad design with the propane pilot light on the wrong side permitting gas to build-up before it lights (the gas enters from the other side) causing it to burn in the orifices (there are 5-1 for each brick) and that we should return the heaters. We tried to return them but we are past the return period. Therefore, he said the bricks or thermostat must be preheated so they will light to solve the problem as the problem is because the bricks and thermostat were 69 degrees the day the problem occurred ( that is why the heaters worked OK on a hot August day as the bricks and thermostat were warm then). We wish we had never seen these heaters as we cannot trust them unless we are with them to fix the reoccurrence of this issue. To be fair the heaters do provide heat although 1 brick in each heater does not glow as red as the others.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
Replaced a older heater. I live in MA and it worked fine the end of June, beginning of July. It cooled the room in no time at all. We then had a cold spell and didn't use it til August when it became brutally humid. I woke up after 2 hours of use and it shut itself down. Found out that the reservoir filled up. I drained it (which isn't easy since the drainage hole is very close to the floor) it turned on by itself and then in 2 more hours did the same thing. I contacted the company.

This is what they said: "Thank you for your purchase of the Whynter SNO ARC-13W portable air conditioner. Can you please put a pan under the drain plug of the air conditioner and remove the drain plug at the back of the unit? Once all water is drained out, the air conditioner should come on automatically.

Please make sure that the exhaust hose is not blocked or bent and able to vent the hot air with moisture to the outside. It is common that the unit is not able to exhaust the moisture collected if your room temperature is low or if the outside is raining or extremely humid. Also, sometimes when you first start running an air conditioner, the self evaporating system may not function in full capacity.

Also, you may want to set up the air conditioner to have continuous drainage by inserting a drain hose to the drain spout if you live in a humid location."

In order to put a pan under it, I had to elevate it on blocks. The pan filled up every three hours so I had to set my alarm to empty the pan.

The company offered a drainage hose but because it doesn't have the capability of pushing out the water, I would have to elevate the unit above the bottom of my window as to put the hose out the window. I contacted them again.

This is what they said: "Thank you for your reply. In order to set up continuous drainage, we recommend to elevate the air conditioner. We can send you a continuous drainage hose which you can connect to the drain plug of the air conditioner. to drain out the moisture continuously."

That defeats the purpose of "portable" so I guess if you live somewhere where it is very humid, this may not be the unit for you.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
I've owned and used several portable air conditioners over the years and I'm truly surprised at the speed of innovation over the last several years. Now it has come to a point where portable units have moved beyond your functional clunky beige contraption to something that has been designed to subtly blend into the surroundings. After deciding between this and a Delonghi (yes, I've finally arrived now that I can afford high-end appliances!) I decided to go with the more compact unit that was at a more affordable price point. I've been using this for about a month now and have been completely satisfied with nearly all aspects. One little gripe that I have, is the absence of handles on the side, it definitely is heavy too. It does however churn out very very cold air, look extremely slick and is a snap to use. The remote control has a myriad of functions that I will eventually use one day but for now, I just need the icey relief from a hot spring day.

Best Deals on Whynter SNO ECO-FRIENDLY 13000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner

Great unit, I bought it to cool off the upstairs hallway and bathroom. It actually cools off the whole second floor of my home which keeps the downstairs cooler. Most portables have to be emptied everyday but this unit doesnt need to be emptied for at least a week (I know hard to believe). I like that it has two intakes on both sides and they are easy to clean. It isnt as heavy as my other portable units. I didnt have any problems with shipping. I am really happy with the unit, as a matter of fact, I am buying another one today and throwing out the old one that leaks all over my floor!

Honest reviews on Whynter SNO ECO-FRIENDLY 13000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner

This is a great little air conditioner. I was skeptical about buying a portable A/C due to the many complaints I've read about them, but due to the restrictions in my NYC co-op prohibiting window air conditioners, a portable was my only choice. I bought this to supplement the mediocre central air in my apartment, which is both too weak for the space it's supposed to cool, and not activated in time for the season's first heat wave. This usually happens in late April or early May and forces me out of my un-air-conditioned apartment for a few days.

I was able to hook this unit up quickly. I had to cut the plastic window assembly, which was too long for the width of my window, which was easy to do with a metal ruler and a utility knife. I also had to seal up the edges where the assembly meets the window frame, which I did by cutting some foamcore strips to the right width, covering them in black duct tape, taping them to the top and bottom of the plastic window assembly, placing the assembly in the window, and sealing the joins with more black duct tape. Using duct tape that matched the black window frame made it look neat and seamless. Aside from buying the materials, it took around 30 minutes total to get this out of the box, hooked up and working.

This unit emits a steady stream of freezing cold air, taking my apartment down from the 73-76 degrees provided by the building's unit to around 65-68, which I find much more comfortable. So far I've left it on most of the last 3 weeks and haven't had to empty it yet. The cooling is most effective near the unit, which I keep near my desk and bed, and less effective across the apartment in the kitchen, which is closed off allowing less circulation, and has a refrigerator emitting heat into the room.

The unit emits about the same amount of noise as a large fan. I find this easy to sleep to. Whether or not the compressor is on or off, the noise level is about the same. This unit is one of the smaller portable air conditioners I've encountered, which should make it easy to store in the winter.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Whynter SNO ECO-FRIENDLY 13000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner

Much can be said about this unit but I will keep it short.

It does what it's supposed to. There are plenty of features on it.

The weight is impressive. I read that it was heavy but for it's size, it's...heavy.

I was lucky that the unit arrived in good condition. Due to the weight, I believe it could be shipped with more protection and I can see how others received broken units.

This thing runs constantly. I live in a dry climate so I don't have to empty any reservoirs. It's still keeping things cool. The filters are easy to get to and clean.

Reviews of Frigidaire FRA08EHT1 8,000 BTU Through-the-Wall Room Air

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $559.99
Sale Price: $479.99
Today's Bonus: 14% Off

Works really well. It's supposed to heat 350 square feet. During the summer months I was quite pleased with the cooling. When I needed heat this fall I was greatly disappointed. The air from the front grill is barely warm. It took an hour and forty-five minutes to raise the room temperature from fifty-five degrees to sixty-five degrees. When I called Frigidaire's Customer Service I was told this unit was only to be used as a "supplemental heat source". Meaning I had to have a primary heat source to heat the room before this Frigidaire heater would do any good. Nothing in the advertising information says anything about this being a "supplemental heat source". Instead of purchasing this product, go to Walmart and buy a room air conditioner for $150 and two small "milkhouse" electric heaters for $40.00 each. Even one 1800 watt "milkhouse" heater will put out more heat than the Frigidaire and be much cheaper to operate.

I would not recommend purchasing this product.

Best Deals on Frigidaire FRA08EHT1 8,000 BTU Through-the-Wall Room Air

I was surprised that the unit was in such great condition (it still had all of it's original display stickers and everything) at the price I received it for about half of what Sears was charging online.

Honest reviews on Frigidaire FRA08EHT1 8,000 BTU Through-the-Wall Room Air

We were searching for a wall unit for a bakery. After a lot of searching and having to narrow down our search to a 110v machine, this was a great choice! It runs quietly and keeps our 20 x 20 room quite comfortable. If you are looking for a 110v ac and heater, you really can't go wrong.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Frigidaire FRA08EHT1 8,000 BTU Through-the-Wall Room Air

I paid a contractor to remove my old unit, the only source of heat in the condo. He installed the Frigidaire and everything but the heat works. The heat comes on for two minutes, then shuts off, all the lights start blinking and it beeps until I shut it down. I've been on the phone with Frigidaire, who state that the unit is unfixable and also that they cannot find any Frigidaire contractor to replace it. Therefore, the only option is that they will refund my money for the purchase but not my installation costs. In the meantime, it has been a week and a half.....I have no heat. I have to find the serial number stickers on the unit to return with my receipt to Frigidaire in order to "start" the refund process. (my contractor will have to come back over to do this and I will have to pay him again.) I'm very upset and now will not purchase anything frigidaire again.

Review of Model 50 Premium Unbreakable Air Deflector

<a href="
Customer Ratings:

As other reviewers have noted, this is a great deflector, does the job well, strong magnets keep it in place and it has strong, sturdy construction. I don't know if I'd test out the "Unbreakable" guarantee on the box, but it definitely does the job and is ready to go straight out of the box.

If you are trying to decide (like I was) between this one and the $1.50 cheaper Deflect-O 99 Plastic Magnetic Air Deflector, please just go with this one. I couldn't tell what the difference was so I ordered both out of curiosity. Well this one is Made in the USA of much thicker plastic with sturdier construction--the other one is made in China and is quite flimsy and has a hard time staying together when extended beyond 10". Don't waste your $$ on the other one--stick with this one, Made in the USA and will last much longer for only a buck fifty or so more.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
This is good for a ceiling vent but probably not for a floor vent. It's very flimsy but holds to the ceiling vent well. Since it won't ever be touched up there, it works great! But if it was on the floor and could be bumped, I don't think it would hold up well. Overall, we're very pleased. Fine product for the price.

Best Deals on Model 50 Premium Unbreakable Air Deflector

This is a very straightforward product comprising two pieces that easily slide together for adjustable fit. They use hard magnets rather than the flexible type, and have no problem sticking strongly to my vents. I haven't painted over my vents so I don't know how that would affect them, but I think they would be just fine. The price is very reasonable for what you get, which is a product that does exactly what it is supposed to do.

After over 6 months of ownership, I can say these are pretty durable too. I have one in a high traffic area that's been kicked dozens of times, and it hasn't been broken or scratched yet.

Honest reviews on Model 50 Premium Unbreakable Air Deflector

These should be everywhere to buy. It puts the air or heat into the room, not up the wall or off to the side. What a difference it has made with the AC. We are actually turning down the AC as it is too cold. Great product.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Model 50 Premium Unbreakable Air Deflector

I ordered two models of Deflecto vents and both are outstanding. Heavy duty plastic, large strong magnets on the side and they work perfectly. Would recommend to anyone, especially since these are impossible to find locally, just try asking for one in your local home depot/lowes, they're never even heard of the product.

Best Dimplex North America DS5629BR Traditional Electric Stove, Bronze

It shipped on time, no assembly required, no problems. Just plugged it in and turned it on. I love the bronze color. It does produce a warm heat for a small room, as advertised. Ours is outside on an enclosed porch. We are in Florida and on a cool night (50 degrees) it helps get the chill out of the air. I especially like the sturdiness and the realistic flames. The door opens and it looks real but is cool to the touch ... good for our granddaughter. Also, a plus, is you can choose heat or no heat with the flame. We got it on sale for $150 and the shipping was an additional $65. Still, it is hundreds less than at our local hardware store ...$400+. We have no complaints. As a matter of fact, I was looking to buy another one because my mother and father fell in love with it over the holidays, but it is now over $220 on amazon ... plus shipping. So, I am shopping around or waiting for this to go on sale again. Only one suggestion ... measure your area and look at the size of this. It is not big. I was hoping for a larger unit and just didn't take time to look carefully at the dimensions.

Best Deals on Dimplex North America DS5629BR Traditional Electric Stove, Bronze

I purchased this firplace for my bedroom. I don't see how it could have overheated, but I tried that and it didn't work.

The problem is Customer Service is only open 8:00 to 4:30 EST, Monday thru Friday, and when you call you get put on hold for the "next available technical service representative". I was on hold for over an hour twice and never got closer than caller number 11. The number went down by one about every 10 minutes. So either no one is answering the phone and the number went down as others in front of me gave up, or they are woefully understaffed.

I understand that problems happen. That's okay if the company stands behind their product and makes it right. It's obvious that customer service is not a priority at Dimplex. If that's important to you, I would not recommend buying any Dimplex product.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Dimplex North America DS5629BR Traditional Electric Stove, Bronze

Just received my new Dimplex yesterday. Got it unboxed and set up by myself. It is terrific. Heated up my living room in a matter of minutes, my dog even loves it she laid down right in front of it. I would definitely recommend this stove to anyone. Thumbs up on this one. The little fan that is installed in our trucks doesn't provide much relief and has limited range so for years I've been buying the clip-on fans sold at Wally World only to have each and every one blow a fuse or break within a month or so. The specified fuses on these junkers are impossible to find and replacements that were recommended at Radio Shack would blow almost immediately. But those fans were the only ones I could find locally so this year I decided to try something else and ordered this Tornado Fan and so far (about a month) I'm very happy with it. YES it is loud at high speed but the postal vehicle's built in fan is very loud as well so thats a wash as far as I'm concerned. The variable speed on the Tornado fan means you can adjust it to your liking and quickly turn it down to a relative whisper when you need to. There is a non-adjustable version of this fan but for a couple extra bucks in my opinion you get much more usability with that variable speed. If you listen to the radio in your vehicle the noise may be too much but if you're just working and driving and humming your own tunes this fan will help you be more comfortable.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
This fan is very efficient and powerful, but makes a loud sound like a hair dryer or vacuum cleaner. I am a trucker so the sound doesn't bother me, but my friends hate it.

This fan is very popular with truck drivers who need to defrost their windshield in super icy conditions (turn heater on full blast, blow heat from dash/upper vents all over windshield, roll windows to regulate)

This fan has probably saved my life a couple times in Colorado for that, when the wipers ice up, you are screwed! Sometimes its so cold window wash doesn't help So this worked!

The pros:

works very efficiently, has dial to turn down the noise at lower speeds

The cons: Motor is cheap, may require removing and lubricating motor over lifetime of product,

NOISE

vibration

plastic mounting attachment breaks eventually before the fan gives out. (I make my own bracket then)

Keep kids fingers out of there, it will break them.

If you have no car AC, this will help you out for $20.

Best Deals on RoadPro RPSC-857 12-Volt Tornado Fan with Removable Mounting Clip

I can't for the life of me imagine someone being able to try this first, then one of the dozen or so alternatives, then purchasing this. I can best compare it to my red TORO 110/120 volt leaf blower in noise output. It simply doesn't need to be this loud. Only positive attributes are its compact form factor and strong clip. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, or wish to soon be that way, this product is for you. Otherwise keep looking or you can buy mine at my next garage sale. I turned it on and then put it in a drawer and it's been there since.

Honest reviews on RoadPro RPSC-857 12-Volt Tornado Fan with Removable Mounting Clip

This fan is bigger than you think. It's 11" tall, 8" deep and 5" wide.

You can clip it on to something or bolt it down permanently (hardware included). It aims wherever you want it.

I like it, glad I bought it. It doubles as a hair dryer or tent dryer on camping trips!

This fan moves and unbelievable amount of air, but when people say its *loud*..... On the highest setting it's probably going to be unbearable to most people. I have a high tolerance for noise and noisy equipment (construction) but this fan is LOUD, even to me.

On high, the RoadPro Turbo Fan easily drowns out the sounds of my 350 V8 engine, headers, dual exhaust, AND my 38" mud tires. My stereo can't even do that ;)

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for RoadPro RPSC-857 12-Volt Tornado Fan with Removable Mounting Clip

This fan does what is expected for a small DC plugged fan. I had no idea what it was, except that it wasn't a smoke detector (not as loud as that) but after wandering around the house for a bit, I followed the sound to the basement and found a small amount of water in the water heater pan. The alarm turned off as soon as I pulled the sensors out of the water.

It was soon obvious this was no small leak. Over the next 12 hours until we got the water heater replaced, we easily bailed 30 or more gallons of water out of the bin we placed to catch the overflow from the pan.

Had the alarm not sounded, it could have been 24 hours or more before the leak was noticed. The basement storage room where the water heater is located, and the adjoining (carpeted) rec room would have been flooded, requiring a major effort to dry them out and damage/destruction of a number of items. Drying out the basement to prevent mold would have required the rental of some high-powered dehumidifiers (been there, done that).

This item did exactly what it was supposed to do. After reading some of the reviews indicating some lack of reliability, I may well install a couple of extras in the basement as backup, and putting some in other locations, such as under/near the washing machine, under sinks, and under the dishwasher, seems like a good idea.

Important tip learned during the water heater replacement:

The expansion tank intalled with the water heater has a shorter life span than the heater itself, and when it fails, the pressure from expansion of heating water then causes damage to the water heater tank itself, shortening its life. To test whether the expansion tank has failed, tap along the side of the tank starting from the bottom. There should be a noticeable change of pitch between the bottom (which contains the bladder full of water) and the top, which should contain air. If it sounds the same all the way up, the bladder has failed and the entire expansion tank has filled with water, preventing it from doing its job of relieving pressure in the water heater tank. Replacing the expansion tank is much cheaper than replacing both it and the heater, and may keep your heater going for years longer.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
The Water Alarm also has a 6-foot sensor wire, so that you can extend the sensor into a sump pump, or the alarm will sound before water spills out onto the floor. The alarm plugs into the wall plus has a 9 Volt battery backup. We use ours for the sump pump & it works wonderfully!

When the alarm goes off...we pull up on the sump pump floater string & the sump pump starts right away and the alarm turns off right away.

The alarm is loud. Our house is a ranch style, a bit over 1,100 sq ft...the sump pump is in the basement...opposite corner than our bedrooms on the main floor...I could still hear the alarm going off in the middle of the night.

This item works as it says it will, I'd purchase this item again. We purchased our's at a major hardware store in our area for about $10

Best Deals on Glentronics, Inc. BWD-HWA Basement Watchdog Water Sensor and Alarm

Why is this better than Leak Frog:

1) 5-yr run time on each battery, provided that battery's expiry date is not earlier than that. Leak Frog? 1 yr. Maybe 2~3 yrs if you use Li batteries (my assumption only see my Leak Frog comment).

2) $9.95 @ my local hardware store and this is widely available. Leak Frog? Almost $15 now and seems like it's Amazon's exclusive offering.

3) Audibly louder than Leak Frog.

4) No screwdriver needed for battery compartment door, Leak Frog needs screwdriver to access that supposedly annually too! I dislike.

5) Slender form factor makes it easier to snug in underneath fridge and dishwasher.

6) Remote (if desired) sensor placement within 6' makes it super versatile. I inserted this remote sensor far deep underneath my fridge with ease. Leak Frog? Where it is located is where it senses.

7) Less toyish look I didn't pay a premium for the latest stainless appliances so that I can place a green toy there in plain sight. I wish that the Watchdog was black (or stainless) and smaller than this, but this is still acceptable.

8) 5-yr manufacturer's warranty. Leak Frog's 1 yr.

9) Leak Frog maker seems to be a one hit wonder. This one's mother company makes a wide assortment of other basement flood prevention goodies. This seems more pro.

I already own 4 Leak Frogs & now 2 Watchdogs, I still need at least 2 more water alarms, I'll get the Watchdog from now on...

Honest reviews on Glentronics, Inc. BWD-HWA Basement Watchdog Water Sensor and Alarm

I bought 2 of these from Lowe's today for $13.58 (model BWD-HWA). Each requires a 9 volt battery, has a 6 foot sensor wire and a 5 year warranty, although no guarantee it will work. It can stand alone or be attached to a wall with the sensor wire extended. The sensor wire can be spliced up to 100 feet, if you supply the wire. It's also claimed that the alarm sounds up to 3 days.

This thing needs to be in a puddle of water (1/32" minimum) to work because it has 2 sensors on the bottom that need electrical current flow between them the water being the conductor. It's not going to sense drops of water, but it should work in a flood situation where water is covering the floor.

I tested the ones I bought and they do work in a puddle, but the alarm needs to be a bit louder. It claims to be 110 decibels, and if that's true, then it's louder than most similar alarms.

It has a constant (non beeping) high pitch sound similar to a smoke detector but not nearly as loud. It can be heard if not too far away, but to be effective, it should be heard everywhere in the house and waken you while asleep. So depending on your hearing, the size of your house and where you are when it sounds, it may work well for you. However, none of these devices work if you can't hear them.

Should one of these devices fail, it would be wise to place more than one where a lot of flooding could occur and cause major damage to your house. Where your washing machine is located is a prime candidate.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Glentronics, Inc. BWD-HWA Basement Watchdog Water Sensor and Alarm

I installed this in my sump pump basin. Over the winter condensation collected to the extent that it set off the alarm. This happened twice. The contacts should have been designed to dangle separately from a support. The support collected the moisture causing the two contacts to complete the alarm's circuit.

There is no switch to turn off the alarm so while it is screaming LOUDLY you have to take the battery out. I don't know why it didn't stop after I dried the moisture from the contacts.

Reviews of GE WR51X10031 Heater Harness for Refrigerator

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $85.45
Sale Price: $27.99
Today's Bonus: 67% Off

Replaced my burnt-out defrost heater. Product arrived in the original GE box. Installed easily, works as it is supposed to. This unit has the defrost switch and harness attached, so there is literally no fiddling around with splices or such, just unplug the old one and plug this in. Whole repair cost less than 1/3 what it did to have a repairman do it the last time.

There seems to be some confusion in general about which heater you get. My unit originally had a single tube defroster, which GE has deprecated in favor of a 2-tube unit that fits in its place. I actually thought I was getting the 2-tube, but instead got the original 1-tube. Easier for me, but the 2-tube might last longer. GE supposedly changed units so the energy density in the tubes would be lower, for longer life.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
This item was 66 bucks locally. It isn't cheap looking or feeling. It actually looks very nice. BUT I am disappointed at the warming ability. I expected the towels to be nice and toasty when I get out of the shower. But they are just slightly warm and really only right in the center where the towel folds over the bar. I put the towel on the bar the night before and have tried snaking it through the warming bars every way I can but the towel is still only marginally warm. So while it is nice to have and looks great in the bathroom I renovated, I am disappointed in the performance. If I had it to do over, I guess I would spend a little more and get a bigger towel warmer that would warm the towels up better.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

Reviews of ProCom Dual Fuel Vent-Free Blue Flame Garage Heater - 30,000

Easy to install, simple hose extention and brass nipple along with a low pressure regulator. Took more time finding the parts at the store than actually hooking it all up.

Make sure you wrap all threads with pipe tape prior to tightening, and test the connections for leaks (dishsoap and water mixture...leak will blow bubble). After all properly tightened, fire it up!

Thoughts on the heater: puts out an enormous amount of heat, especially for price. Does not come with feet, so it needs to be wall mounted, feet purchased, or some kind of stand fabricated so it is off the floor surface. I used 2 cinder blocks. Pretty stable, but I plan on getting feet of some kind for tip prevention.

Draw back: radiant head pretty much goes straight up, so if you are like me and work in a non insulated garage with open rafters, most of your heat will be leaving the work shop. However, you can get the attachable fan, or just use a tall oscillating fan on low to evenly spread the warmth.

**side note** everywhere I could read, this unit is said to be used with no less than a 100lb propane tank. While this might be true if you are using this heater in place of a regular home furnace, or you are keeping your garage regulated at a certain temperature; I am currently running off of a 20lb bbq grill tank with no issue. I leave it on for 1-2 hours and have not yet had any freeze up issues from over drawing the tank.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
Bought this heater in 2011, for our detached garage(approx 20' X 25')which my husband uses as his "club house". He's as comfortable out there, as he is in our house with central heat. Quality product, prompt delivery, and great vendor.

Best Deals on ProCom Dual Fuel Vent-Free Blue Flame Garage Heater - 30,000 BTU

I bought this as backup heat for the winter and had it installed in my fireplace this is a really good heater. Looks nice in my den.The ad says it is for a garage but I had it placed in my den fireplace and it looks really nice. You cannot leave the pilot on as it will heat your house up.My house is 1550 sq.ft. so I believe it will heat the whole house in the event we have a power failure as I only got it for backup anyway. Great looking heater will most definetly buy this heater again.Have already recommend it to family members.

Honest reviews on ProCom Dual Fuel Vent-Free Blue Flame Garage Heater - 30,000 BTU

Purchased in mid-October 2012 to replace wood stove and 30+years old forced-air furnace (although instructions caution the unit is not to be used as primary heat source), installed mid-November. Ordered white/no blower, got black. Roughly $250 for the stove, $200 for independent/retired/laid-off contractor installation: Two of three natural gas appliance installers said they "don't touch them" (meaning small gas heaters generally) for vague reasons; natural gas supplier's sub-contractor half again as expensive. Hung the unit on the living room wall myself (single/divorced female, 62); hanging took maybe an hour, gas hookup involved 4 hours (mostly in/out of the basement to cut/thread heavy-iron piping on threader set up in the driveway).

Home is a roughly 1300 square-feet (one large bedroom, one very small bedroom converted to walk-in closet/storage upstairs), 200-year-old fieldstone farmhouse--some new windows and attic protection but, for all intents, uninsulated. Half the downstairs (4 rooms/~800 square feet) heated in Michigan winter. Purchased unit precisely *as* primary heat source.

Unit's been up/running for a little over two weeks with outside temperatures/weather ranging from low 50's to mid-teens/20's with wind/rain/snow. Thermostat dial offers settings 1-6; set it on mid-2 for more-than-adequate heat through living room/bedroom/kitchen/bath with aide of ceiling fan in living room. No doubt whatever that it will handle a Real Michigan Winter.

Unit is attractive (actually prefer the black), unobtrusive, virtually silent. Slight odor of gas as thermostat/flame kicks on/off. No hard cool-down/heat-up of rooms like the old forced-air "blast" furnace; heat is as radiant/consistent as a wood stove without the work (which I loved when I could do it) and mess of wood. With the gas line piping in place, replacement, if ever necessary, would amount to the cost of a new unit.

Unit has not been in operation long enough to require cleaning. Waiting for first gas bill.

So far, I have no criticism of this unit whatever. It is perfectly lovely.

UPDATE 01/01/2013

First natural gas bill covered roughly 3 weeks' use, was easily half what the old furnace would have used/cost. Wall behind and 4-6" immediately above the mounted heater stays surprisingly cool, wall above that gets very warm but not too hot to touch/blister paint/be dangerous. Am considering purchase of another while price is reasonable.

I. love. this. heater.

UPDATE 03/22/2013

BACKGROUND FROM 10/2012: Home is a roughly 1300 square-feet (one large bedroom, one very small bedroom converted to walk-in closet/storage upstairs), 200-year-old fieldstone farmhouse--some new windows and attic protection but, for all intents, uninsulated. Half the downstairs (4 rooms/~800 square feet) heated in Michigan winter. Purchased unit precisely *as* primary heat source.

TODAY, 3/22/2013: Nearly through first Michigan winter with this heater as only heat source. Thermostat dial offers settings from 1 to 6; have never set above high-2/the line between 2 and 3. Have to set at lowest setting when outside temperatures reach 30-degrees. Operation is dependable, takes 1/2-hour or so to heat house from dead-cold, flame/heat is even and consistent. Haven't had to clean jets; will do that at the end of the season. The only nuisance has been a slight pale grey dusty residue/deposit noticeable on dark woodwork--byproduct of ventless natural gas combustion; it's probably on walls/drapes too but they're white/beige, cleaned every spring anyway. No noticeable condensation whatever. Haven't purchased second unit yet--may not need to except as backup/replacement *in case* anything goes wrong next year. Again/still: I. love. this. heater!

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for ProCom Dual Fuel Vent-Free Blue Flame Garage Heater - 30,000 BTU

I bought this ProCom black garage heater online from Northern Tool in October, 2011. I knew how to hook up gas appliances, so it wasn't difficult to install this. We installed it on our living room hearth after taking the gas logs out of the fireplace. Bought the BrassCraft hook-up kit from Home Depot. Also got the "feet" from Northern Tool (they were white, so I painted them black). Since this heater's on the hearth, we leave the fireplace vent slightly open for the little bit of needed ventilation required by this heater. The heater cycles on and off flawless, smoothly and quietly. With the heater set between 2 and 3, it keeps about 800 square feet at 67 degrees when it's in the 30s outside. Very comfortable heat. We don't run it when we're sleeping or when we're not at the house. Very pleased with this heater. Will easily save us $40 per month.

Review of Help stay WARM, with this energy efficient space heater. My mother-in-law purchased one for her and one for my family. They worked well for the for the 3 to 4 months that we used them during the cold weather. I plugged mine in for the first time this winter and it will not will kick on, when it does it blows cold air. My mother-in-laws is doing the same thing. I called the company but since it is out of waranty, there is nothing that can be done to fix my unit. According the rep. from ecoquest, they do not service this unit, if it goes bad during warranty the company will simply send you a replacement, after that, you are on your own. Not only can they not repair the machine, they do not sell the parts so that someone else can. My mother in law paid $800 for two units and both of them are useless. Think twice about purchasing this heater, what a joke for customer service!!!!!!!!
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
I have been using my Safehearth for over 3 years and never had any problems

Will keep my bottom floor about 68 when the temperature is in the 40s

Best Deals on Help stay WARM, with this energy efficient space heater. Comes

We have had this heater for two years and use it every day 6-7 months of the year in our very chilly basement. We love the timer, the fact that it will maintain a certain temperature in a room and that it is safe for our children and pet. I do understand that the warranty has changed since we bought the unit. The dealer we bought it from told us that. That doesn't change the fact that we have had zero problems with this unit and we are very pleased with the safety and performance.

Honest reviews on Help stay WARM, with this energy efficient space heater. Comes

I don't own one of these units, but do own an Eden-Pure (a competitor). To the person who wrote that their 2 Safehearth heaters no longer work, try this: make SURE the filter for incoming air is clean. When these filters are dirty there is a sensor that doesn't allow the heat to come on (to prevent the unit from overheating internally) and the unit will then only blow cold air. Also, if you happen to have a very dusty environment try to clean further inside the unit (when it is unplugged), and try to clean the filters at least once a week. Hope this helps.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Help stay WARM, with this energy efficient space heater. Comes

My mom bought me one of these overpriced behemouths and I hate it. It is so noisy I cannot stand to use it at night. When you want to turn it off it has to 'cool down' so it takes five minutes for it to turn off when you flip the switch. It does heat but not much better than any fifty dollar space heater you can buy online. Waaaaaaaaay overprices and I hate the Ecoquest company because there in not ONE PRODUCT my mom has bought from them that hasn't broken in a month or less. So far these heaters work, but if what a previous reviewer said is true that they can't service them, it is criminal to be selling these large things for them only to wind up in a landfill because they can't be serviced! Not very Ecofriendly! I think they should change the company name! All their products quickly become obsolete and wind up in landfills. They brainwash their dealers like a religion and perpetuate these lackluster products on them making them waste thousands of their own dollars on products that may intially work, but then require way to much servicing before they become obsolete and the company encourages you to scrap the old ones and buy their much 'new and improved' products. One of the biggest scam companies out there. I know because my mom is a dealer and they prey on their dealers.

Review of Honeywell Whole Room Heater, 18 x 18 x 19 1/2, Gray (HZ-725)

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $129.99
Sale Price: $55.95
Today's Bonus: 57% Off

There is a major flaw in the design of the Honeywell Whole Room Heater HZ-725. The heater is triggered to shut down completely when it overheats and you cannot reset it yourself. Honeywell recommends you have an electrician check out your electrical system when this occurs. Your only option is to return the heater to Honeywell at your expense plus an additional fee. Honeywell will then reset/repair and return the heater to you.

This heater worked for me for less than one week before completely shutting down. There was nothing I could do to get it started again. My home's electrical system with 3-prong plug outlets was in perfect working order when this occurred.

The problem with returning the heater to Honeywell for repair when this problem occurs is when you get it back from Honeywell, won't the same thing just happen all over again?

It is not my fault the heater triggered overheat; it is the fault of the heater and Honeywell. It is not my fault I cannot reset the heater when it triggers overheat; it is the fault of the heater design and Honeywell.

Do not make the mistake of buying this heater. The company (KAZ) sent a replacement, which again stopped working after 2 months. Save yourself time and money don't buy it...

Best Deals on Honeywell Whole Room Heater, 18 x 18 x 19 1/2, Gray (HZ-725)

The short review:

Worked great for a month, then it overheated and wouldn't turn on. Apparently, once it overheats, the on/off switch will melt shut, forcing you to either send it in or trash it for a new one. Quality of this heater is low.

The long(er) review:

I bought this heater at a local store, not on Amazon.com, but the review still stands. It worked great for the majority of the winter. Heats a small room fairly quickly on the highest heat setting, but it has no digital display to set an exact temperature setting. It also does not heat the floor, unlike cheaper, similar units. If you leave the heater on overnight, you run the risk of melting the on/off switch into the off position. This can be fixed, but you only have 2 choices if you want to fix it.

1) Send the heater in to Kaz/Honeywell, let them force you to pay $10 to fix the heater, along with postage paid by you and be out of heat for a few days/weeks OR

2) Open it up, voiding the warranty, and fix it yourself.

I chose option 2 and after cleaning off the melted plastic (!!) inside the switch (!!), the heater works once again. It's not easy, but who can complain about a working heater?

Update: 6/2/2011

We've had a few weird months of weather here and I had to use the heater a few times. On one of those days with abnormally cold weather, this heater decided to quit and wouldn't work, no matter how much poking and prodding I did to the switch. I finally bypassed the switch altogether and got the heater to work again.

Bad bad bad design.

Honest reviews on Honeywell Whole Room Heater, 18 x 18 x 19 1/2, Gray (HZ-725)

The header works great... until it triggers its overheat flaw and never works again. I guess I triggered that overheat flaw mentioned a few times in other reviews (which doesn't make any sense since I had it on a fairly low heat setting at the time). And like everybody else, I can't fix the problem myself. All it does now is uselessly take up space in my room. So my options are now (1) spend money I don't have on a new heater in mid-March right before the weather starts to get warm again or (2) wait out the cold weather for a little bit longer and save my money. Either way, I'm not buying another Honeywell heater ever again. I bought this heater in January and now on March 14th it no longer works.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Honeywell Whole Room Heater, 18 x 18 x 19 1/2, Gray (HZ-725)

This heater might work well in a smaller, enclosed room, but it did absolutely nothing for my open dining room. One of its flaws is that the heat is emitted from the top, so if you're trying to get your feet warm (Important! helps your whole body warm up), you're out of luck, as the top of the heater is about two feet off the floor. Also, I don't know if it's just a personal preference of mine or if there really is a difference in efficacy, but heaters that BLOW as opposed to those that just RADIATE seem to warm me, and the room, more quickly and efficiently.

As for the other reviewers mentioning that theirs broke after a short period of time, I'm not even going to comment on that, as I've only had mine for a day. But between the shortcomings I've noticed myself and those I've read about, I'm not going to take any chances. This thing is getting returned as soon as I can get it back into the box. I only wish I'd read the reviews before I purchased.

Mr. Heater MH170FAVT 170,000-BTU Forced-Air Propane Heater Review

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $469.19
Sale Price: $282.42
Today's Bonus: 40% Off

We bought this to heat our steel products up prior to painting them and this little guy did the trick. The propane hose that is supplied with the unit is junk! It is like a recoil spring that will not straighten out even when warmed. So bad that I will be replacing it with a better quality hose. I wrote to Mr. Heater over a week ago giving them a chance to make it right. I asked them to send me a better quality hose. Not even an email reply, And of course, no hose. If I had to rate the hose separately it would not get any stars. If you want a good heater, by all means buy this one but be prepared to replace the hose.

Best Deals on Mr. Heater MH170FAVT 170,000-BTU Forced-Air Propane Heater

This is a awesome heater for what I needed. I puts out ton of heat. You must be careful with it as you would any heater especially a forced air heater. The temp control is awesome and it ran for quite some time with a 20lb cylinder. I ran (seemingly) forever on a 100lb cylinder. Would certainly recommend this product for anyone needing a portable heat source.

Honest reviews on Mr. Heater MH170FAVT 170,000-BTU Forced-Air Propane Heater

It is nice and light, not too big and works great. The controls work good and are easy to use. It will go through a 20 lbs cylinder, on the lowest setting, in less than 8 hours. It works good and has a lot less stink than a kerosene unit.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Mr. Heater MH170FAVT 170,000-BTU Forced-Air Propane Heater

Purchased this heater new and it will not stay lit after one minute. Also, the slightest bump changes the setting on the controls, so you frequently turn them higher or lower or even on and off without wanting to. I'm surprised that the manufacturer let this very poor design off the factory floor.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
This is a nice blanket. It warms up reasonably fast and provides an even heat over the entire blanket area. The only thing I would change is where the power cord attaches to the blanket. The cord comes out in the middle of the blanket on one of the narrower sides. So, if you have the blanket over you in the long direction, from your shoulders to your feet, the cord comes out by either your neck or feet. Because of my wall outlet location, the cord has to be by my neck, which can be a nuisance. I think it would be much better if the cord came out one of the corners instead.

Best Deals on Sunbeam Microplush Throw Blanket

We got this blanket for Christmas and it actually works really, really well. There are three heat settings, plus it turns off after 3 hours so you don't have to worry about burning yourself or getting overly sweaty throughout the night. We actually DID save money on our power bill last winter (January was almost $40 lower than December!). It was pretty amazing. We're actually excited for winter again so we can use it. Very comfortable and very pretty looking on the bed the ivy color matches our drapes!

Honest reviews on Sunbeam Microplush Throw Blanket

Very pleased with my Sunbeam microplush electric throw. It warms up very quickly and then somehow adjusts to the temperature of your body. The warmth is even and consistent. DOES NOT feel like a thermostat is going on and off to adjust. All over warmth. I can equate the comfort to taking out a towel from a warm clothes dryer on a very cold day. The throw is not as soft as a microplush blanket because let's face it, it's an electric blanket and it has very supple wires inside...but you really can't feel them. The thermostat control doesn't look like the one pictured. It is long and is very easy to operate. One button changes the temperature from low to medium to high. Has a 3 hour shut off which is really convenient for kids who forget to shut it off or when sleeping. A couple of reviewers said that the plug was in the middle of the blanket, which is not so. The plug is positioned at the BOTTOM of the blanket in the middle. I don't find it to be in the way at all...also the electrical cord is sufficiently long enough to accommodate outlets behind a couch. Like it so much, I just ordered another one for my son who thinks the one I just got for myself, is his :) You won't regret this purchase!

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Sunbeam Microplush Throw Blanket

I got this for my girlfriend for Christmas since she is always cold in the winter time.

Long story short, she ended up spending the majority of the winter curled up underneath it.

It warms up quickly, and kept her nice and toasty even when we turned down the heat to save on utilities.

Also, those who complain about the cord coming apart have not connected it properly. There is a plastic latch which when clipped in keeps the cord securely in place.

Reviews of BUNN NHB-W Professional 10-Cup Coffeemaker, White

<a href="
Customer Ratings:

My husband and I just got our first Bunn coffee maker and we couldn't be happier. We weren't sure if we wanted to invest that much money in a coffee maker, but after trying several other brands that just didn't last, we decided to get the Bunn. I love the way this model looks, with it's updated styling and rounded design, and my husband loves not having to wait for his first cup of coffee. The coffee tastes great and the temperature is just perfect. I had read some reviews of Bunn coffee makers that warned of the coffee being dispensed so quickly that it sprayed out all over the place, but we haven't had that trouble at all. I did make sure to buy Bunn filters, though, because they are taller than the other brands. This coffee maker looks great in my kitchen, and is so easy to clean up, too. It was very well designed--even down to the carafe, which pours easily without having to be turned upside down to get out the last drop. I definitely recommend this product to anyone who makes coffee daily. It will most certainly be money well spent!
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
My coffeemaker just arrived yesterday, and most of the time I don't write reviews for products, but I couldn't wait to tell about this product. First, it takes about 20 minutes to set up, but it is easy. I set it up the night before, and couldn't wait until the next morning to try it out. The concept is so greatyou only use the amount of water you put in. It really brews in 3 minutes of less-I made a half of a pot so it was less time. I will have to experiment with the amount of grounds, as it makes weaker coffee with the same amount of grounds that I used for the cheapo, takes forever, old coffee maker. I had to get some type of new coffee maker as my old one was making coffee that was bitter. I have never paid more than $20.00 at Wally World for one, but something had to be done. I am delighted. I definately think it is worth the price, and I can see that it will last a long time. I was suprised after ordering this and going to a friend's house I saw her with a Bunn maker. She told me that is the only kind she uses. I also love the instant hot water. It is quiet-no gurgles. Another nice feature is the porcelain warmer. Also, the carafe doesn't drip or spill-it pours beautifully. My old one spilled while pouring and was very annoying. I will definately take everyone else's advice and only use the Bunn filters. I am very happy with my purchase, and Amazon has always been good to me.

Best Deals on BUNN NHB-W Professional 10-Cup Coffeemaker, White

While we were pleased with the quality of the coffee produced, we are totally fed up with its leaking and dumping water. We live in a rural area and at least a couple of times a year the power goes out. This coffee pot has a 'vacation' setting that you use when on vacation. If you unplug appliances when you travel you'll return to a counter full of water and an empty coffee maker. Unfortunately, if the power goes out, the coffee maker decides that it has been unplugged and dumps its contents all over the counter.

Also, after years of ones that turn themselves off after a couple of hours, it is annoying to spend this much for one and have that basic feature missing. One instance of brain rot could easily burn down your house if you forget to turn off the pot before leaving the house.

Honest reviews on BUNN NHB-W Professional 10-Cup Coffeemaker, White

This is a great coffee maker. It lives up to all of its claims and more. It truly does make the coffee in three minutes or less and the coffee tastes wonderful. The fact that it sprays the ground coffee instead of drowning it makes for a smooth and rich cup of coffee. I really like the pour spout on the pot as they found a way that makes it dripless. So far it has worked consistently fine in all ways. The attention to every small detail truly shows in the results. You can pay more or pay less, but this coffee maker lives up to its reputation and is well worth the price.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for BUNN NHB-W Professional 10-Cup Coffeemaker, White

I got my second Bunn coffeemaker this past Christmas after our first one finally started wearing out. I have always loved how coffee tastes in restaurants and wished my coffee would come out that way at home. I typically saw Bunn coffeemakers in restaurants so I told my husband that I wish I could have one of those for home, but at the time, I knew I wouldn't have one as I thought they were just expensive and large commercial grade machines and not made for home use. Well, a few years ago, my husband surprised me with a home Bunn coffeemaker for Christmas and I was amazed at how great the coffee tasted just like in a restaurant! I knew then that the Bunn coffeemaker would be the only coffeemaker we would ever buy from now on. So, again, I was pleasantly surprised and very pleased to open another Bunn coffeemaker for Christmas to replace our aged one. I HIGHLY recommend this coffeemaker.
