"Marriages, they say are made in heaven and if you are ever made to be a part of one such wedding they say you are truly blessed"

Ahh where do i start with this one, there are very few times in life that i have been left speechless because the number of thoughts running through my head cant be measured and applied as sentences. This isn't about Goa, this isnt about a destination wedding (though id take the memories and talk about them till the time i'm around)- this to be put is about Gurasis and Jasmine and their beautiful wedding. Weddings aren't my thing, i am generally the aloof, asocial individual for whom weddings are mostly about food and drinks (if any, yes you know who you are) But for some reason it has been 3 days since i have been back and all i can think about is their wedding and how beautiful it was.

For someone who has been privy to all developments just like all members of the BTC (more on the acronym later) i have been looking forward to the wedding not just because it meant travelling to Goa but because it meant that i was going for the wedding of two friends who mean a lot. And boy! Have i come back with a thousand memories to cherish.

Before i go any further, let me take this opportunity to thank the families of both Gurasis and Jasmine for taking special care of all of us and making us feel as one of their own! Right from the time we boarded the plane here in Nagpur to the time we were arriving back (after what many would call a harrowing experience of delays, Way to Go INDIGO!). I have always believed that families are the ones under a lot more stress to make sure that everything goes on smoothly and the families did a fantastic job to pull off everything without a hitch! i think both sets of parents deserve to give themselves a full day at the Spa and deserve some pampering (Gurnoor, you might join if they want to take you along {Devilish laughter})

Gurasis always said that its the friends that make the wedding, i know the lazy bums that most of us are werent the greatest of help but believe me we were just taking in the enormity of the wedding, one sip at a time! (More Beers!)

It was so nice to catch up old friends and make new ones and i would like to take this opportunity to thank Gurnoor for putting me in a room with Samay and Yohann (hope ive spelt it right) cause it was an absolute pleasure getting to know them and the fact that i am writing this is testament to the fact that i wasnt the worst room-mate ever!

Okay before i end this, i need to mention Eknoor and Gunraj- guys! i so relate with you- cause i was what you guys are 15 years ago when my elder brother got married (let's not talk about that). The only difference- You GUYS ARE WAY MORE SMARTER! I might not have taken the time out and met you guys like proper proper but you guys had amazing energy and believe me when i say this- DONT CHANGE, you will go miles just on this!! I am no Anu Malik but Poojan- You are a F***ing Rockstar Brother!! (Vispu, tera audition baaki hai)

Lastly, this song that keeps playing in my head whenever i think about the wedding from the very famous Dil Chahta Hai

"Jaane Kyun Log Pyaar Karte Hai"

I think Gurasis and Jasmine just answered the question for all of us,

The very best to the both of you and to friends and family- till we meet again!!

God Bless,

Naveen

I have been wanting to write this for a period of time and the long weekend allows me the time and space to reflect on a question which has been bugging me for a period of time. I know writing this at this moment could nothing be less than what many would call sour grapes, but to contrary beliefs I did vote for Narendra Modi during the 2014 elections because just like many of you I also thought that the Congress had a leadership crisis and that the country needed to move forward from the politics of "appeasement" and as many of you would call free gifts. To my happiness at the time the BJP swept into power and I thought that the country was finally ready to walk on the path of development under the "able" leadership of Narendra Modi. This blog post is not about what has the government achieved or what it hasn't and I would try to stay away from pointing towards the jumlas as I would like this to remain as apolitical as it can be.

This blogpost is mostly about the question I ask myself everyday ever since the current government was voted into power unleashing what I may call closet nationalists who at the drop of a hat would question your nationalism. This is not the country that I love or stand up for where having an opinion or something to say against the government is called sedition. I know I know many of you reading this would tell me to go away and stay in my neighboring nation cause that's easy but my question to all of you is why the fuck should I. As a citizen of this great nation I should have the right to question my government on policies I believe could be detrimental and against the developmental plank that it came to power with.

I Am proud of this nation and I call it home. I am proud of my armed forces and the police guys who continue to protect us even when they get nothing in return. But I am unable to wrap my head around the concept of "do it for the soldiers" or any of the hyper nationalism that many people seemed to be charged up with. I still remember someone I respect a lot telling me that throwing Pakistani actors out of the country would help boost the enthusiasm of the troops and my answer was stop watching television cause you have no fucking clue what you are talking about. I am a practicing Hindu and I respect my culture and heritage but also tend to give other people of other religions their space to practice theirs. Who am I to say whose God is better or protects its people better. I know a lot of middle eastern countries don't believe in giving all religions but Islam foremost importance but if you do realize most of them are autocracies. Are you saying that we should be heading the same way.

I do agree that my hyper nationalism is at its peak when India plays Pakistan but then I don't mind eating peshawari kebabs if offered cause they taste yum. I love my country irrespective of its short comings and there are many but I am not willing to be part of jingoism. The current political climate is clearly the George bush scenario of "either with us or against us".

What am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to bend out and adhere to the current dispensation? What if I don't want to? Am I less Indian than you? I don't want a Ram Mandir or a Masjid? What I want is the right to be free with my expression and thought. Does not wanting a ram Mandir make me less of a Hindu? Why am I supposed to adhere to one thought...aren't these questions valid in today's time and age when India is on the verge of achieving greatness? Cause according to me Greatness at the cost of freedom is like one step forward and a million back

Adam Smith would be a proud man today:if he were alive. The second largest populous country in the world has converted itself into economists and everyone from the Rich fat cats to the guy on the street selling chai (i am not referring to the PM) has an economics degree and an opinion about Demonetization. I am not going into the pros and cons of what most "arm-chair" economists are calling a historic move (depending on what side of the spectrum you see the history from) because i might not be "intelligent" enough and wouldnt want to see the debate slide down the "YOU ARE ANTI-NATIONAL" path which seems to be the case for most of the country at the current moment.

What i do want to talk about though is the pure pleasure my country men are seeking from the fact that the so called Rich Fat Cats are suffering (we do not know as yet!) from the move. This is vile to certain extent. I do not support black money but i know for a fact that the parallel economy is something which has kept consumption and investments alive in this country. People need to realize that the reason most of the fat cats have the money is not because they were all Pablo Escobar but because one of us conveniently greased their palms cause it was in self-interest.

We complain a lot as country but at the same moment we are willing to do everything it takes to get in front of lines and get those contracts which we believe could help us live a better life. It is important to point towards the fact that not all "Black Money" (Black Vs White: Racism Galore) is ill-gotten wealth. It might be that an individual worked hard to get it (finding a loophole in the system takes hardwork!) You ask me about the fact that its black cause the guy didnt pay tax, before we go into that debate: please half of the "honest" citizens in this country dont pay taxes. The Farmers are tax exempt for crying out loud while we continue to provide them with subsidies. (Let that sink in)

Black money has this amazing ability to keep the consumption economy alive in this country and before we go after the fat cats remember one thing we would be hitting a part of the economy which because of the concept of "trickle down economics" supports 2/3rds of the nation. Lets all get some facts right no one in their right minds keeps money in mattresses anymore, most of the money is back into the system through real estate purchases, P-Notes investments into the Indian equity markets and certain Capital infusions by promoters (Yup, that happens)

By curbing this we are taking away from this nation the ability to consume and if you believe that the move would make a house affordable: you need to think again about investments and how they work in our country. Until and unless its a fire sale: people who bought houses/lands at inflated prices are NOT SELLING which would again lead to a supply shortage and the theory of demand and supply. Gold is a consumption item for Indians so you might not see this gold coming out anytime soon- wait for their kids to get married and you might just receive 10gms of gold as a souvenir.

The whole concept of curbing Black money might push this economy back by at least 5 years (remember them Congis) as people who had saved up to invest into businesses would be unwilling to part with their cash. The credit markets in the economy continue to remain frozen which would hurt the SME/MSME (BMKJ). The banks you say would have a lot of money. Look at the first thing they did- they cut your deposit rates (from a savings economy to one which would take on more debt)

While all this is going on, we have as a nation turned out attention from how pathetic it feels to be standing in lines to concentrating on how fat cats are sweating (Optimism ki had hoti hai yaar!) Is this our way of showing to the world that we are a lot who get amazing pleasure from the thought of someone getting victimized (even the honest guys) and forget about our own agony (The EIC took over us doing the same damn thing)

This debate is not going to end and i would try writing a lot more about this cause i need to go troll the RBI governor for calling the lot of us dishonest (coming from a guy who was ex-Reliance,seems too rich!)

Keep Counting the 100 bills and playing monopoly with the 2000/-
I generally dont do this but the last couple of days has made me want to sit down and take stalk of the situation. I have four pertinent questions for our Prime Minister Mr. Modi (Goswami tone) that i believe not just me but a lot of Indians too might have but at the risk of being called traitors and anti-national are not willing to ask. I have been called that a thousand times already so it doesn't really matter to me anymore cause i don't have to prove my Indianess to anyone. For all the people who celebrated over the last couple of days with messages spanning from New India is born to people who called it the Modi Surgical Attack, i support your thoughts and would be more than happy to hear yours:

1. Mr. Prime Minister, as per media reports your election campaign was worth close to 30,000 crores. Could you please let us know from where did you get this money and would you be willing to furnish the details (Sir, for the love of this nation dont tell us that they were anonymous cause then the nation and its people also deserve to get anonymous donations)

2. Mr. Prime Minister sir,I should congratulate you on the design of the new notes, they look spectacular but my question is sir, to dispose of the old notes and to print new notes would require more money, Sir, who would be paying for this?

3. Mr. Prime Minister Sir, the scheme would bring in a lot of people into the main-stream from farmers to maids and the Jan Dhan Yojana would take care of the account opening (great foresight!). This would also mean sir, that the banks would access to fresh capital, what steps are you taking on making sure that the lending done by the banks going forward would not lead to any further pressure to the NPA problem that the country already faces? We would not like to suffer and then hear about more defaulters in the system.

4. This is a two part question sir, and i would like to take just a minute more of your time. According to Usha Thorat, the amount of money in the system which is forged is relatively less as compared to what your government is claiming (given that Usha Thorat might not be part of the system, she might not be aware of the right figures) sir, could you please provide us with an insight into how are you tracking and making sure that more forgery doesnt happen (given there are no GPS tracking devices in the new notes)

Lastly sir, what is the government doing about the NPA mess cause the recapitalization of the system with more money is not ebbing anything (i agree that by taking the step you have been able to make the cash worthless) but lets face facts here sir are we not as a nation supposed to know why no one from the banking system is being taken to book cause these loans after all have been given out by not the Branch Manager but by the Chairman?

Mr. Modi, I am a proud country man and believe that Vande Matram and Bharat Mata ki Jai is not going to solve the crisis we currently find ourselves in. But i believe that if you are able to answer this or have anyone from the government answer this i would sleep peacefully knowing that questioning the government isnt a crime.

Let's be frank none of us in our right minds had predicted such a turn of events and people in India who did, you need to stop watching the reality television. It is imperative to state that it isn't the first time that he Americans had nominated an actual star as their nominee for president. It would be fair to jog your memories back to a certain someone named Ronald Reagan. In hindsight a poster boy for all future republican candidates and has gone down in annals of history as one of the greatest post war presidents. But Donald Trump is no Ronald Reagan, for many he's worst than George W- the last republican to be president. I am not a huge Donald Trump fan but have been following his meteoric rise this election campaign. From a complete outsider who the establishment hated to their presidential nominee which more than half of the country wants to see as their next president. We would talk about it a little more a little later but before that it becomes important for us to shift our focus towards the competition- Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Her time according to many after being defeated by Obama in the democratic primaries has finally come. And many would argue that for s country that lectures the world over human rights and democracy it was paramount to elect its first women president. I would be lying if I say that I supported Hillary right from the beginning. I actually was feeling the Bern and wanted Bernie Sanders to be the Democratic pick but Hillary proved me wrong and stream rolled through the primaries and was nominated as the "undisputed" democratic presidential nominee. (If wiki leaks are to be believed the democratic national convention was rigged in favor of Hillary). The stage was set- many assuming a cake walk for the former First Lady against the eccentric billionaire Donald Trump

This has been one hell of a roller coaster ride for everyone and especially the media in the United States and has kept all of us glued to the edge of our seats here in India. What went wrong for Hillary? I focus my attention on Hillary because at the start of the race I personally believed that Trump should just forfeit the damn thing the crown Hillary the next president of the United States. While she was the Secretary of State in the first Obama administration, Hillary got embroiled in the Benghazi fiasco which led to the deaths of American diplomats on foreign soil. Why should this be such a huge think ask many in India, we are used to losing so many lives not just abroad but also within our own territory and no one in the administration gets blamed. I would go out on a limb and say we as a country elected a prime minister after the 1984 riots (genocide) no questions asked and are keeping up the tradition to have elected another one who has been accused of not taking strict actions during 2002. But remember this is the United States where lives of its citizens matter (apart from the black people). Then came the email scandal and the Clinton foundation fiasco which truth be told Hillary hasn't been able to get over since the very beginning. She's supported both the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. As Secretary of State she's been accused of arming the Syrian Rebels against the government and also funding ISIS (remember ISIS is a creation of the United States and has more do with oil than anything else) Hillary is a trigger happy nominee and if elected president given her relations with Russia, I wouldn't be surprised if we head towards the Cold War v2.0

Now let's talk about the eccentric billionaire Donald Trump. Trump has been the joker in the pack right from the time he put his hat in the ring. From wanting to build a all on the Mexican border to keeping Muslims out of the United States, Trump has been one person whose bought back the White American male back to the polling booths. A lot of us also question his business ethics and achievements and believe that most of his business ventures have failed that just he's been able to repackage the whole thing and shove it down our throats. Trump is the quintessential right wing candidate who talks about nationalism (Make America Great again) and has been talking about how terrorism is a religion problem. Trump has been accused of shielding himself from taxes (Indians who have been taken aback by that please stop being hypocrites). Over a period of time he has been accused of making comments against women which have been termed nasty and a score of women have accused him of making sexual advances against them without their consent. The reason why he's still been able to resonate with his supporters is because he's selling a dream, a better future a la acche din, and people are willing to overlook all the eccentric behaviour. He is also willing to go the distance to remove corruption and change the way politics happen in Washington (does that remind you off somebody? )

How does this affect me or you? It shouldnt in my humble opinion but whatever choice America makes next week would give you a clear indication about how the world has changed and how gimmicks have overtaken the broad narrative. Hillary with all her experience of not doing anything versus Trump the I can do it all guy...it would be a fight too close to call. The crisis that America faces at the moment is not of which lesser evil to choose but a sheer crisis of confidence in their own system which has been shoved down all our throats right from the very beginning. I would try keeping all of you updated on what is going to be Super Tuesday/Wednesday here in India.

Why am i writing this, its not that all of you don't read the pink papers every morning. One of the key reason that i would want to put this out there is because the so called "pink papers" do not report what is important but try building a perspective that the people in power want to project. I can hear many of you go "here goes another conspiracy theory", but believe by the time you are done reading this, i would have opened a whole new perspective for some and given a voice to many who would rather not speak.

Over the past few weeks or months, we have been bombarded with reports that the world has been divided on the basis of religion with a certain faction out there to destroy the very fabric that the world is build on, yes you might have guessed it correct, i am referring to the Islamic State. Then there is the China factor which the pink papers have made us to believe would drag the world into a global recession. I would dwell into both these factors and shed light on what i call the "economics deception".

ISIS, Saudi Arabia and Iran: Let's put one thing out there, i am not someone who has the wisdom to comment on religion, not even my own so for me to make the current conflict all about Islam and the Shia and Sunni war would be behaving just like the pink papers. Let me give to you another perspective- oil and communism and the American shale gas industry. Let's rewind the tape to the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, one of the key reasons for the Americans to go out there and get involved in the war was not oil (Afghanistan has no or little oil) it was the fear of Communism.

The Americans feared that if the Soviets were able to gain a foothold into Afghanistan, the US would have to might as well forget that there was an eastern part of the globe. (Remember: India was still a left leaning democracy at that time). America could not send troops on the ground but were able to fund the Mujaheddin with Stinger Missiles which many believe were key for the success of the Afghan militia (Read: Thicker Than Oil). The Saudis had just found the oil wealth courtesy the United States (Google Aramco: History) and were trying to save the Kingdom from an onslaught from Egypt (which at that time was a Soviet ally. So to protect its oil wealth and make sure that Communism did not bring down the House of Saud, the kingdom sided with the United States. Over the years, the relationship has helped the biggest producer of oil in the world flourish.

The Kuwaiti Invasion: the second part of this story, goes back to the Kuwaiti Invasion by Iraq which at that point had discovered its oil reserves but wanted more and so in the guise of religion, Saddam Hussein attacked Kuwait and led to what we know as Operation Desert Storm by the United States. Operation Iraqi Freedom is part of folklore and i would not waste time in discussing the actual reasons behind the massive operation. It is imperative to state at this point of time that the ISIS that we know today is part of the Iraqi army which was left unemployed and in its pursuit for two square meals a day formed what we now know as the Islamic State. Add to this the massive civilian casualties during the War has according to many war veterans led to the creation of thousands of Osama's (This isnt even the beginning).

All this while, the Saudis kept pumping more and more oil as head of the OPEC and needed to provide to the United States that it was its wartime ally, while the United States cleared all the competition for Saudi Oil in the Middle East.

The next question you would be asking me is about Iran and how it comes into the picture. I concede to the fact that the Republican Iran has been one of the most volatile in the Middle East. But lets' not get into that, if you remember Iran has recently reached a nuclear deal with the United States and 7 other world powers and awaits the lifting on economic sanctions which would allow the country to introduce foreign capital and help it flourish. Can you connect the dots now? If Iranian oil reaches the world markets, Saudi Arabia would face intense competition which would put more pressure on its budget which for years has been surplus. What is the best way to keep them away from the markets?

Tell the world that they are supporting the Syrian rebels and arming the ISIS. This scares all of us shit-less and we all tell the United States to not lift the economic sanctions. Have i proved a point against what the Main Stream Media is trying to feed us and help force down their perception down our throats? Can you draw an exact parallel with the wars over the past decade.

China: For years, China not India has been the growth engine for global markets as it has become the factory floor to the world. To get to the position, the communist government in China has been inflating bubbles with the use of virtual money. These bubbles have been created on the premise of easy money policies adopted by everyone from the United States to the European Union, and of course Japan. Our Prime Minister would lead us to believe that India is growing at a much more rapid pace than China and frankly the economic reports coming out both the nations are as bad as the books written by Chetan Bhagat. (Both of them pleases the masses but have no regard for the quality)

China seems to have dug itself in a hole as its credit markets are unable to price the junk and are all looking at the government for a bailout. My take on this whole fiasco is how much ever we keep thumping our collective 56 inch chests, China's Pain is never gonna be our gain. Its Pain is going to be a huge pain the wrong place for most of us. The fact that Chinese imports are getting cheaper every passing minute as regulators continue to devalue the yuan at a faster rate than how we indians turn tolerant and intolerant.

India: How much ever the pink papers try to blame China for whats happening in India, we need to take a closer look at our own fundamentals. If it werent for the Saudi's wanting to bankrupt every other oil nation in the world, crude prices would still have been at around the high $90's which would have made our current account deficit look worse that what it was when the Congress was in power. Inflation hasnt played out its final hand.

It is important to state that India is still is a large agrarian economy and two bad monsoons havent really helped us in any form or manner. Indian are still in love with gold cause for us its a consumption item and not an investment one (Government needs to understand the distinction before announcing weird sounding gold schemes)

I don't blame the Chinese for what they are doing cause all of us did not blame the Federal Reserve when they introduced their quantitative easing program which in my view fueled the commodity super cycle post 2008. Every country would do what it takes to protect itself, just that we Indians are so divided on what the media tries feeding us that we tend to forget Basic Economics.

At the very end, i would sum it up by saying that all decisions and all the smoke screens that our leaders (one with a 56-inch chest) are forming are going to hurt us in the near term. The Perfect Storm is just around the corner

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

The first thing i would like to get out of the way is the fact that i am a political bigot. In the recent past, I have used every forum available at my disposal to call the Congress the "power-hungry" political party it has been. I have called the Congress a "headless and rudderless party". Then, in late 2013, I thought that this country was turning over a new leaf, when the Bhatiya Janta Party and the RSS (not so unanimously) voted you as the face for the 2014 General elections. For here was a leader that i "thought" had changed Gujarat for the good. I unequivocally put all my efforts in making sure that everyone i met knew exactly where my political affiliations lay. This was finally India's time. Over the last 18 months, my dreams and aspirations have been shattered not just by you but you motley crew of ministers. I would through this, like to shed some light on the absolute disaster your government has become in the last 18 months.

Ground Realities
Mr. Prime Minister, lets start with one of my favorite topics that id like to discuss- the Indian economy. Every morning when i get up and read the Economic Times, one thing that I can't get away from is the fantastic headline management that your government has been able to achieve. We are forced to believe that our great country has become the fastest growing economy in the world. This makes me feel like i am living in China, where this kind of psychological motivation building headlines have been in place since time immemorial. We have supposedly become the best place to do business. I beg to differ sir, the economy of this country is in no better shape than what the Congress had left it in.

If it it weren't for the OPEC countries who decided to kill the shale gas industry in the United States by keeping production at all-time high levels, even when they knew that the demand for excess oil wasn't there, our Current Account Deficit would have been worse than it was under P. Chidambaram. This sir, has nothing to do with you or your government so stop harping on the "I brought oil prices lower".

Our capital expenditure both on the private and public side hasn't picked up and most of the corporate sector not wanting to cross lines with your government are part of this headline management regime. But deep down in their capitalist hearts, they know that we are running out of time.

Make In India
Sir, can you please explain to me how inviting the world to India to start manufacturing units helping our domestic industries. You do realize that if Chinese manufacturers were allowed to open their giga-factories in India, they would kill all kinds of Indian industries and we would be back to being the ancillary units, never being able to truly become the manufacturing super-power. Also, can you please tell me as to how much of the tax payers money have you spent as against the actual returns on investment.

Bare in mind, when i say actual returns, I mean actual investment that has flown into the country, vis-a-vis the employment generated. As far as i can see, your government has signed like a thousand memorandums with various governments and corporate houses but we see nothing on the ground. Is this another one of your "jumla", the word courtesy Mr. Amit Shah. We would get to him a little later.

Farmer Suicides:
I know sir, that while you were the chief minister of Gujarat you introduced a lot of programs which helped farmers prosper and grow. But one thing that you forgot was that Gujarat did not face two severe drought back to back like Mother India faces today. While you might say that the rains were "sufficient", the reality on the ground is much different. I agree, to most people that farmer suicides haven't started happening since you took office. But weren't you the one gloating about "SABKA SAATH, SABKA VIKAAS"

Opposition:
Sir, when you took to office weren't you aware of the fact that you never had a majority in the Upper House. The Congress for all i know did a fantastic job then to run this country with no majority either in the Upper or the Lower Houses at different points of time during the last 10 years. And whenever Shri Manmohan Singh spoke about "coalition dharma", all of you called him a robot being controlled by someone at 10 Janpath. Are you telling me sir, that with an overwhelming majority in the lower house you arent able to run the affairs. This is what "policy paralysis" feels like. And Sir, werent you the one who opposed GST while being at the helm in Gujarat?

The principal opposition party, the Congress, with 44 members of parliament are taking your 282 members for a ride? That is what opposition needs to be doing right. I might not agree with most of their disruptions but for god's sake get your Act together Mr. Prime Minister.

Intolerance Debate:
Let's get this one thing which has become the Albatross around your neck out of the way. We AREN'T A TOLERANT NATION. The times people from the North East have been called Chinkis or the times Muslim dominated areas have gone into shutdown over some stupid message on some social media platform are many in number. What i am perturbed by is the high number of people in your party including one Amit Shah have gone out of their way to make sure that every thing that comes out of their mouths is pure hatred.

Sir, your "56 inch chest" needs to step in and fire these scoundrels from the party and make an example out of them so that we do not have such nut-jobs coming out of the wood-work. I do not have a lot of awards to give up nor i ever would cause that's who i am. But the ones who have, whatever their political affiliations need to be told that this country has suddenly not turned into a dictatorship and they aren't anti-nationals. The only person who can do that is you sir. Sir, lets focus on what we do for this great country of ours and not waste time on what we eat.

Mr. Modi, this is your chance at greatness, at being spoken about in the same vein as Mr. Vajpayee and Mr. Nehru as great Prime Ministers of this country. You need to stop the rhetoric and for once start looking at the collective interest of this great nation, one in which i still believe in.

Before i end sir, please dont make our veterans fight for what rightfully should be theirs. I might not give up my gas subsidy but would be willing to give up an extra amount of service tax if it were to make sure our veterans who fought for this great nation are given their dues. #IWANTOROP

Your Sincerely,

A Proud Indian

Okay, before i forget a shout out to Shreya Tiwari for being one of the greatest reasons for me to come back and blog again. Link her blog at the end of this blog and i would request people who actively and inactively follow my blog to please show her some love, cause personally i believe she's a fantastic writer and does her research really well which for once you would never find on this blog cause this blog is where someone like me goes all out and out of my way to swear and cuss. So if you are one of those who are reading this for the first time and think that cuss words would scandalize your life, you can take your hypocritical life to Ganaa.com and watch useless shit and get on with life.

What is this all about, i finished conducting the second version of God Particle and personally felt so much more satisfied with this one cause of the response of people and the fact that so many of them wanted to become better and shove the middle finger towards people. ( Way to go boys and girls, well fucking done!) I am proud of each and everyone of you cause you showed to the world that you were fucking better. The crowd at the event who suddenly turned hostile against me and my people, there is only one reason you did that cause you aren't fucking good enough. And there was a reason why you were sitting off stage! (the ones who cheered us and rallied behind us, thank you and believe me you are some of the best people i know )

Okay so here is the deal, the conference like every year also came up with its Cultural Night. Wowie Not! I know i know, some of you fucktards would call me a hypocrite and shit and say things like the big fuck cant dance and sing and therefore he's taking it out on us! FUCK YOU, i cant dance, i cant sing and i very well know that. I respect people who can, cause just like public speaking it takes a lot of balls to be in front of hundreds of people and perform, the probing eyes, the judgements its crazy. I dont have a problem with culturals, for all i know i am guy sitting around and thinking "If i just could do this, i would have been able to ask so many girls out for a date" (NOT) My problem is the way it is used to objectify women. For a profession, which says that we will uphold the dignity of women, this was a pure nightmare. For god sakes' why cant we have a cultural night with women wearing sarees, why does it have to be skimpy shit. Ill tell you why cause people still think of women as skin (Oh yes, I do watch the Victoria Secret Show every year and love it, just for all of you guys wanting to tell me to fuck off!)I watch bikini ads, who the fuck doesn't. My problem is the way people sell this, its an open invitation to a pit where people are judging women and oggling at them, c'mon guys get on with life! And yes Hawaiian Beauties? Really, Really, what the fuck happened with the branding. The name itself shows that there was an ulterior motive to the whole thing and its shameful!

Okay yes, i dont have the CS attached to my name who gives a fuck! but if you believe that being a CS or any of the profession, you would be able to create a cult for yourself, you're fucking mistaken (Yes, this is a direct attack, no one in the world wants to know when the nupitals are tied)

So ya as promised:
Shreya Tiwari, thanks again for making me want to write again
People please follow "the woman" on thewoman2407.wordpress.com

And all those people are proper offended about this, i have one thing to say to you, I DONT REALLY GIVE A FUCK!

January 2014 saw change in the way Indians especially in Delhi think. We around the country and around the world were proud that for once the people of our great country had done the unthinkable, we for once had put country first. We in many ways had defied conventional wisdom and voted for the Mango People Party or better known as the AAP.

Arvind Kejriwal and his band of intellectuals had captured the imaginations of the country. We had finally arrived said the Indian voter and for all I know deep down in my right wing heart, i for once was very happy for the country. For once i had a guy who i could relate to and not just support a guy who i thought was better off in a old age home. For once i thought my aspirations for this great country be met. For once wearing that ridiculous cap that Gandhi and Lady Mountbattens' extra marital love interest had made famous was cool and gave me and many like me an identity. The agents of change had finally arrived...this was a dream come true.

Before i go further, i never supported the fasts apart from the fact that they help you lose weight, always thought they were a colossal waste of time as they weren't achieving anything and were just letting the world know that we indians can go without food and water for days and an old fart could had more energy by fasting than all the drug induced orgies that many people might be part of.

Making that point loud and clear, the dream that spoke about has turned into some kind of a nightmare right out from a Ramsay Movie (scary and lousy). I am not going into the politics of why the party led by a 40 year old "young man" (way to go, you give all 40 year olds hope, if you are young, people in their 30's are still teens) supported the AAP and not waste time and space on all the fantastic conspiracy theories that have cropped up. For gods sake, you got the fucking support, you should have been happy, do what you were supposed to, become the demigod that you were supposed to but no you had to fuck that up to.

I know a lot of AAP supporters out there would say that the government of Delhi was achieve so much in the last 15 days that no one else in the whole fucking world has been able to in the history of mankind. You know there is a fucking reason for that nimrods, its called having a fucking plan and implementing it in a step by step manner and not forgetting why you were put up there in the first place...erm to fucking govern.

Coming to the main protagonist of this lousy movie a certain someone called Arvind Kejriwal. Man you had everything going for you, everyone in the country thought that for once the common man had found its voice and for once this man was different from us mere mortals, we were so wrong. Listening to your ridiculous interviews the last one week and you claiming yourself to be anarchist, one thing has dawned on us, you are just like all of us a frustrated prick who isnt given any importance in the household and therefore like most of us takes it out on unsuspecting people ( READ THE AAM AADMI OF DELHI). You remind me of a certain someone called Vinod Kambli, who i may say had all the makings of a star but fucked it all up cause he couldnt really handle the stardom. You my friend are not an anarchist, but someone whose never been given due either at work or home and for once you were given importance and just like any wet dream you "came" too early.

Ohh wait i forgot about your band of intellectuals, my kindergarten class had more class and intelligence than your band of hoodlums that you call your core. I need to make a special mention of Kumar Vishwas and this anchor turned political activist called Ashutosh, my friends politics is not for you can you please shut the fuck up...cause frankly we've had enough of your lets say nautanki. Mr. Vishwas i wish you all the best in your fight against the scion but i would just say the people of Amethi might be better off being with the scion than with a guy who cant make sense of what he says. Ashutosh i thought you aped Arnab when you were an anchor and all your years in journalism has made you understand scripted lines and when it comes to having a discussion with you, it seems like you cant make up your mind...give him the fucking teleprompter for once...

I actually thought that you guys were the agents of change but to be very frank youve turned out to be the sideshows that are just that...sideshows...I am sorry but i would not vote for you and lets face it my vote in the bigger scheme of things doesnt matter but atleast ill sleep in peace thinking i made the choice putting my country first and believe me when i say this a lot of people who voted for you cant sleep well at night cause they clearly know that they let emotions run high.

I still remember the first day i saw you, half asleep after a late night of sleeping and getting up only when dad and Boris (you remember him) woke me up and told me that i needed to go to the hospital...
On my way to the hospital, i knew the fact that ma had given birth and i didnt really know what to expect and to tell you the truth i like any other 9th grader didnt really give a rats ass...
When i reached the hospital, the first person i went to see was Ma and checked if she was alright and then dad pulled me towards this room where a baby was going beserk crying and i kept on thinking what a racket !! And hoped it wasnt you cause i was like "How much can this baby cry".
When i entered into the room, there was only one baby there and the nurse told me that it was my sister making all that noise and the only thing i could think about was and blurted was "why is she so small".
But when i first came near you and held your little fingers i knew that i had in many ways found my partner in crime...
For close to a month and half after you were brought i didnt touch you, i think the only reason being the fact that everyone around me painted a gory picture of your broken neck and stuff if i held you in the wrong manner. I couldnt for the love of god hurt my little sister, so all i did in that time was to sit next to you and kept telling you who i was and you kept smiling away to glory not uttering a word back. The whole world taught you how to say Ma and i just wanted to hear you say Bhai, for me Ma could come later.
I wanted you to learn all the stupid things like pulling Boris's tail and run around with him, to learn how to wink (still dont know why i tried teaching you that)
I still remember the first time i took you to the doctor for the polio dose and how i was about to kill the doctor when he tried administering the dose and you kept crying wanting me to hold you and take you away. I knew i couldnt let anyone hurt you but then i was strictly told by ma that it was important and more than you i should stop behaving like a kid.
I know over the years, i have not been around for i have spent more time outside the city than anywhere else but believe me everytime i shopped before anyone else i shopped for you cause i personally would never want you to feel that you dont have something...a feeling that sadly i kinda know about...
I know you are a big girl now but for me you are still that stupid hopeless toddler that ran into walls and put your hands into sockets just to get a feel of things and for me you'd always remain that.
I know i am not there today, but however crazy my life is here and how much ever i might be up against it i know whats keeping me from giving up is you!
And remember id always be there come what may, and both of us would still keep raising hell when it comes to being the partners in crime...
Happy Birthday Bacha...enjoy the day, your elder brother misses you!

I know I love you because I want to get you soup when you’re sick. Not only do I want to get it for you, I want to make it for you so you can eat something made with love instead of with crushed insects and preservatives. I know I love you because I want to slap anyone who hurts you, even if it’s your boss. I want to hold you when you’re having a nightmare and kiss the spot that hurts when you bump into something. I know I love you because I want you to be healthy even when you’re not sick, and that’s why I keep bugging you to change your crappy eating ways even though I know you’re over hearing about it.

I know I love you because I worry about the stuff only people who love you worry about, like the amount of quality sleep you get a night and how much you drink when you’re sad and whether you’re getting enough vitamin B. Like probably more than your mom does, I’m not sure she especially cares about vitamin B. I know I love you because I freak out when you’re obviously disintegrating yet too stubborn and too “I’m fine” to actually go to the doctor, even though I do that sort of thing myself.

I know I love you because I think you’re beautiful even when you’re not.

I know I love you because I want to listen, I really do. I don’t have anywhere to be that can’t wait for a while and I’m not checking my phone, in fact turned it off and buried it in the cushions the moment you said you needed me. I’m here for you and that other thing can wait.I know I love you because I’m truly concerned with how your life turns out. It’s not just that I want you to “be happy” or attain that vague self-helpy “inner peace” bullshit we’re all supposed to aspire toward, I want you to express yourself and be fulfilled and feel like you’re living life for a good reason, not just passing the time. I want everything to work out for you the way it should and I want to be there for it, occasionally with champagne.

I Know I Love you cause i wanna be there for you when the going gets tough and let you know that I am sticking around with you no matter what....

You Make my World, however weird it is Go around,

Sometimes in life there is so much to say but you cant put it into words, similar is my situation. There is so much going on in my head and so much that wants to for the record be out there but for the first time i am caught up between thinking and expressing it in words. ( Yes, abe, the rebel without a cause has thus far been silenced). They say life is made up of special moments and to tell you the truth this might just be mine....(so fuck off Freddie the 13th President, i am gonna burst your bubble)

A few weeks back life seemed farcical, it seemed as if life had nothing more to offer and the only thing that was keeping me going was that alluring light of hope at the end of the tunnel. (No nimrods, i wasn't gonna kill myself) And its very true that when you least expect something its only then does something very magical happens.

I would through this blog paint a picture which i would tend to believe say a thousand words. I am sure many of you have seen the full moon on a dark night, how still, pure and beautiful it is. Then there is the rising sun, full of radiance and hope it brings to the world the hope of day and life. I know these are two divergent images but what if a person was as beautiful and pure and had an happiness quotient that only new life could bestow upon us...

Remember i spoke something about the alluring light of hope at the end of the tunnel, it is that one thing that every human being talks about and looks forward to cause its something that keeps us going, when i describe her its the alluring light of hope that i am talking about.

Being gracefully charming is an art they say that only the very best of the best can achieve and some on the other hand are born with it, add to it the sheer ability to make someone feel at ease, the picture just becomes a lot more magnificent.

I've always believed that life is all about those little moments and its only when you start wishing and praying for those moments to never end that you know that you are in that good place where even if you were to be stuck by lightning and die you'd die with your head held high cause you would have just lived the moment that would last a lifetime....

I still cant figure out the title for this post, cause i just want it to be that nothing yet everything, if you are reading this id just end this by saying this

Come, Live, Experience

on how the Global economy would drag us into a bigger recession than 2008

The world it seems has
come a long way from the heady days between 2004-2007 and also as many claim a
long way from the destitute days of 2008 or have we? We might be out of
recession1 in the text book meaning of the word but have we really come
out of the credit crisis unscathed or we are in for a rude shock just around
the corner.

The Indian economy in
the real sense never went into recession, as we did not have our GDP fall below
the 0 line at any time during 2008-09 nor did as many would say have our
unemployment rise by 1.5percent in any of the 12 months post 2008-09. I have always had a bone of contention with
these figures as India doesn’t really follow the practice of reporting its
employment numbers primarily because of the very high percentage of population
employed with the un-organized sector of the economy. So, the unemployment figures in this country
would be much larger than what meets the eyes. The Indian economy for all its
demographic advantages was one of the main reasons that attracted foreign
capital into the Indian economy for all these years. There were two other main
factors that led to this surge of foreign capital into the economy that we
generally don’t speak about cause as they say, when the goings good, no one
complains. One of the factors was a pure financial concept of leveraging3
on cheap debt and the other an economic concept of Opportunity Cost.

The first one that
needs to be spoken about is CHEAP DEBT. Where did this cheap debt/finance come
from? Let’s turn back some time and roll back to the horrifying images of two
United Airlines flights crashing into the World Trade Centre 1 and 2 killing
thousands of innocent souls, America had been attacked and at a time when the
country had just seen the dot-com bubble burst and the economy on the brink of
a recession. America had to react both on the global as well as the domestic
front. Enter two men, both who were directly and indirectly responsible for the
credit crisis and one of them would always be remembered to be the drug dealer
peddling the drug called leverage- George
W Bush and the free market economist and FED reserve chairman Alan
Greenspan. America need to bring to book the perpetrators of 9/11 and for that
an ailing economy needed cheap funds, step in Alan Greenspan and in an
unprecedented move cutting the FED lending rates, making money available at
near zero-levels to the economy. This made the economy cash-rich again and thus
the American government was able to raise as much debt as it could to fund its
operations in Afghanistan and this free flowing capital helped the American
middle and lower income class fund its “American-dream”, the rest as you may
know was history. Enter the American
capitalists who after being hit by the dot-com recession did not believe
anymore in their own economy and started looking outwards. The near zero
borrowing rate gave the American capitalist to look at the globe as their
personal playgrounds cause just an arbitrage opportunity in Government bonds of
other countries were giving them returns that were unheard off. [Borrowing at
zero-levels, investing that money into say a 9 percent treasury anywhere around
the world, were giving them a post transactional cost return of 4-5 percent].
The Americans weren’t satisfied with this as investing into government
treasuries was the safest route available but regulatory hurdles kept them away
and these were capitalists who wanted more bang for their buck, hence equities
seemed to be the next best avenue. The dot-com boom had not only left the
American economy on its knees but also had a crippling effect on the global
economy but one thing it hadn’t changed was the demographics of the global
economy. India had just opened its markets a decade ago and had during the
dot-com run produced jewels like Infosys and Wipro. The Americans believed that
if India could produce jewels like the tech giants if funded properly could
easily yield 100 other companies who had far more potential than the tech
giants. Thus began the incessant flow into Indian equities and we saw an
unprecedented rise in the Indian equity indices between 2004- Jan 2008. This
was leverage at its very best and as many traders would call it, a high only
cocaine could provide. This was steroid banking at its best. India loved it,
India wanted more of it. This according to many was our time, we had TV
presenters opening champagne bottles live on television, India according to
many had arrived, finally.

Opportunity Cost? The
near zero borrowing rates had made the world an attractive place for
investment. Small towns in Russia whose name we hadn’t even heard off had
become the new investment destinations of the world. Goldman Sachs had coined
the word BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India China) and had called these four economies
the go-to economies for all cheap funds chasing attractive returns on capital.
The opportunity cost was the outflow of funds from domestic markets to these
attractive destinations but the cheap availability of funds to the individuals
back home meant that no one was complaining, there was no Occupy Wall Street
charades as Wall Street had now become the one place to be, it had transformed
itself from a very recluse society to a gambling paradise. Similar was the case
with the BRIC nations, back home Dalal Street had woken up and smelt the
coffee, from being termed as a gambling den for many years, the Street in
Mumbai had become globally significant and it had introduced the risk-averse
Indian to the heady adrenalin rush of Dalal Street. Everyone was talking about
companies, balance sheets and profit margins, terms that they did not
inherently understand but that was what everyone wanted to talk about. This, as
many said was easy money, infact too easy.

The CRASH and After:
The inkling of the shakeup of the global economy began in late 2007 when two
hedge funds owned by the investment bank Bear Stearns closed themselves down
and sent shock-waves in the credit markets. This was in many ways the beginning
of the end or as someone very famously said “The Music had stopped” but the
BRIC economies weren’t taking any notice, they had started believing that they
had decoupled themselves from the global economy and the music would never
stop, but it did.

The starting part of 2008 saw the listing of
one power company by one estranged brother belonging to the all powerful
business family on the Indian bourses, the company had no fundamentals as it
had based itself on projected earnings and were based on a pipe dream was
over-subscribed many times over as for retail investors this was the cheapest
way to be invited into the party suddenly saw itself plummet after listing,
this brought with it curtains to the party and someone switched the lights off
but there were still stuck in the dark holding onto fast burning high beta
stocks which from being market darlings had suddenly become the whores that
everyone slept with but no one spoke about. The decoupling theory was back with
a bang and everyone who just months ago were all for it, suddenly changed
stances and started preaching about how greed had culminated itself into this
crash. For the first couple of months, we retraced and eroded value as if there
was no value available in the markets. We tried stabilizing but the constant
freezing up of the debt markets in the US along with the contagion spreading to
other parts of the world (read: Europe) had
a cascading effect on our economy too. The foreign institutions pulled
out all the money that they had pumped into the Indian equities right from the
2002 gala onwards as they now needed this money (albeit with handsome returns)
to fund their own existence back home. The world had truly plunged into a
recession. The capitalist American had after selling to us the grandeur of own
“story” had in a very swift manner given us a Economics 101 lesson on demand
and supply and made us aware of the Darwinism of Survival of the Fittest.

The heady days of
2003-2007 had in many ways made the Indian populace forget one very basic fact
about our economy and that was the fact that we are whatever said and done
still a very agrarian economy and more than 60 percent of our working
population is still toiling away in our villages. We had suddenly started
believing that our services sector was bigger than agriculture and we would
never have to look back again, 2008 proved to us that the economy that was built
on free capital from around the globe couldn’t sustain as the very foundations
weren’t very strong. Many of you recall 2008 as the year when many people
around you that you worked with were given the pink slip and let go. The
multi-national conglomerate had truly arrived. For a country that had evolved
from the British Raj to the Babu-dom, this sacking scenario was new and
something that was unheard of but there was little one could do about it. If
this mass-sacking scenario wasn’t enough, what came next was even more
unexpected and scary.

Cheap Money = Lifestyle
Changes: We as a nation have always been wowed by the international brand
appeal. Though earlier generations were known around the world as the
generation who saved a lot (something we still do, but this habit has rapidly
declined), the current generation would be remembered as the one who gave the
word effluence a new meaning altogether. The rapid increase in wages with a
growth story that even Adam Smith would be proud of, the Indian went out shopping
and how. Every luxury brand and multi-national brand wanted a piece of the
Indian market either through franchising or the licensing agreements with
indian partners. New India had truly arrived but this new india forgot about the thumb rule that had been followed
by earlier generation who always saved for the rainy day. The 2008 crisis apart
from bringing the economy to its knees also was able to do two things make us
realize that the heady days of the “bull” run had converted Indians with
disposable incomes from net savers to net spenders, cause now just like our
American consumer, we had to maintain a certain lifestyle. To feed this growing
hunger, someone called consumerism Indians started eating into their savings or
taking on debt that they could not afford. The government and banks allowed
this to happen because they had to in some way save the tanking economy and
some-how refuel the consumption story so that we could attract foreign capital
again. This was according to many the right way to go forward, as us along with
China were touted to pull the Global economy out of recession, were we really
doing that? Or just becoming sitting ducks, for an inflationary shock that had
the ability, to pull us back into recession again.

2009 and the world
rejoiced: Just like Alan Greenspan, another gentleman played a very important
role in feeding the world with cheap capital his name was Ben Bernanke. He
believed that the only thing that could help spur growth back into the American
economy and be able put it back on the perch of domination of the global
economy. Little did he know that this influx of capital termed as quantitative
easing would bring along with it inflationary pressures and give rise to an
investment cycle which would not be based on solid foundations. He believed in
his own right that after the bail-outs that the FED was handing over to the
wall-street firms, this step of making available to the banks cheap funding
would bridge the gap between wall-street and main-street, little was he to
know. How in the same vein was our
Finance minister to stay back, out came the subsidy wand, everything from
excise to tax slabs was cut just so that India could come back with a roar. And
it did, the benchmark indices, fueled from the money flooding in from the west
along with the money that was made available due to the subsidies had companies
report higher than expected profit margins. One thing that everyone missed out
sheer out of excitement was the fact that there was a clear difference, the
growth that these companies saw between 2002-2007 was also based primarily on a
robust top-line, the growth that companies reported (except the FMCG companies)
was on a stagnated top-line and it was only due to the cost cutting and lower
cost of capital that improved the bottom lines of companies effectively, but
little did we care, in terms of sheer growth, India had beaten the recessionary
bug, had it…

The consumer in India
was eating into his savings and also 2008 according to many stand-alone surveys
had pointed to the authorities the funneling of black money into the Indian
economy. The authorities, turned a blind eye to such reports as they knew that
they needed the money no matter what as the lagging economy needed the capital
for the growth story to continue. Another risk that the government was willing
to take was on the fiscal front, with a growing economy the government felt
that the tax revenues would be able to somehow pay off the debt and since the
debt was available freely, leveraging the economy looked the best way forward.
Little did they know…

Inflation, Commodity cycle and the Common
Indian

Focusing on core
issues, which I believe would force this economy into a deeper recession have
their deep-rooted economic theory of higher base effects and inflation. After
the 2008 debacle, many investors started looking at other asset classes apart
from equity, the oil price spike and the subsequent war on Iraq just showed the
way. Commodities was the new equity, the ever growing needs of the developing
“super-economies” in Asia gave investors to resort to pumping up the prices of
essential commodities in the name of high demand and supply. During 2008, post
the crash, inflation in India went into negative territory (WPI, that is) but
on the ground the situation was different. The prices of all essential items
had started forming high bases vis-à-vis historical prices. The deflationary
conditions in the economy forced the government to provide more rebates in the
form of subsidies and cheaper capital. This had a fantastic effect as consumers
were back and we believed that the bad days of 2008 early 09 were a thing of the
past.

What we forgot was that
this was going to have a hugely negative impact on the inflationary scenario
and whenever inflation raised its ugly head, the economy would be staring down
the barrel. Early signs of this were seen in late 2009 when the inflation had
reached uncontrollable levels. The Reserve Bank of India had to step in and
start raising interest rates to curb inflation, but the higher base effects
that commodities had formed along-with the foreign capital flowing in because
of the Quantitative easing proved to be a dampner for whatever steps the RBI
was taking. 2009-2010 would be remembered as years when the economists around
the world had called to an end the recession which just a few months ago was
supposed to envelope the world economy. The good days according to many were
well and truly back. Nothing could go wrong, little did they know.

Europe and the World:
The European nations had been hit hard by the recession, many believed (though
a very small number) that even though the world thought that we were out of the
woods, Europe had never gotten out of the recession. The skeletons, started to
tumble out of the closet, first was Ireland, then came Greece and now Spain
along-with Portugal and France. The European Union could not fund itself, as
even after the many rounds of rate cuts, the ECB wasn’t able to restart the
economies. The ECB tried everything to convince the world that there was
nothing wrong, the stress tests which proved to be an affair to forget, as the
results showed that only a few banks needed capitalization, though in reality a
relatively high number of banks collapsed just weeks after the stress test
results were made public. The world started to panic, as this high debt
scenario made the world realize that even though some kind of hope was restored because of all the easing
tactics this high level of leverage could not be serviced as was seen during
the crisis of 2008. These weren’t investment banks that could be merged or taken
over or allowed to go bankrupt but countries which had people who needed jobs
to sustain their living and futures. There was another trouble brewing in the
developed world, a problem which many
believed if not taken care off urgently would wreck havoc on the global
financial system and would lead us into meltdown mode.

America and its Debt
Over-hang:

The biggest economy in
the world had through its widely publicized reports convinced many that it was
well and truly on the recovery path, but little did the world realize that the
biggest economy in the world had also become the country with a debt, the size
of the global economy. The quantitative easing, the high amount on expenditure
on wars (read: 2) after 9/11 is according to me reasons enough to bring America
to its knees and have a crippling effect on the world economy. The Americans
along with the FED needs to get their act together as this cheap capital would
have far reaching and dangerous effects on the world. If people thought 2008
was bad enough we are talking about 10 times the magnitude if America doesn’t
get its act together. Though employment numbers are not as bad as they looked
in 2009, many forget that there are many in the work-force that have stopped looking for jobs. The savings
rates hadn’t picked up and one thing that the Americans haven’t learnt post
2009 is that Plastic Money isn’t good for their own good.

The debt ceiling once
reached would throw the world economy into a tumble as even though the
Americans would raise their debt ceiling, their currency would lose value and
the yields on their bonds would rise over a period of time. Also, the numerous
rounds of quantitative easing has now heightened the fears of an inflation
backlash which at the current moment seems to be suppressed as the overall
economy is just resurfacing from a recessionary situation.

The anarchist model of
governance followed by both the European and the American central banks is
causing a bubble in both economies and its aftermath of the burst of the bubble
would have to be faced by the developing nations of India and China. The
central banks are in denial mode with regards to the bubble formation but
hasn’t this been the case historically, it is only in hindsight do the central
banks realize and accept that policies might just have been overdone but would
always take cover under the guise of doing good for the economy.

covered veil:

CHINA, has over the
last decade through its policies with regards to economies of scale and
currency manipulations has set the benchmark for development and GDP growth,
but how much of this is true, the economic reports coming out of China over the
last few months indicate clearly to a slowdown and an economy which is trying
its level best to suppress the inflationary pressures that it might be facing.
Also, the Chinese regulators are also aware of the fact that it being a export
oriented economy, it cannot afford the world to go into a recession and thereby
it has been trying to through indirect and direct steps trying to support the
Euro and the American economy by funding all the capital/fiscal requirements of
these economies. There is a bubble that has enveloped the Chinese economy with
regards to its real estate prices and the only reason what is stopping this
bubble to burst is the fact that China predominantly is a government controlled
economy. If this economy was left to the market forces, we see a very hard
landing for the economy.

The high positions that
china holds with regards to the sovereign debts of developed economies has also become a huge
risk for the government as any change in the growth trajectory of these
countries would have a direct effect on the balance sheet of the Chinese
economy.

Constant interactions
with industry brings to the fore a reality which a lot of people are not
willing to agree to. The margins that industries across sectors were commanding
a couple of years ago have dried up and these industries are not only the core
industries but also industries which are directly related to the consumer story
(retail, food and beverage etc)

The high commodity
prices across the board have significantly increased the input costs and
because of the rising competitive pressures have reduced the bottom lines. The
high interest rates and the even higher wage inflation has in many ways
hampered the growth of India Inc. Even with regards to the banking sector, the
sector has over the past couple of quarters seen a high rate of growth in their
NPAs’ (read SBI), and believe that these NPAs’ might just rise at a constant
rate as many industries have been unable to sustain these pressures and might
just be looking at closure. Also, the banks have seen a high rise in the
percentage of loan seekers seeking for debt restructuring which has also eaten
into the margins of the banking sector.

Many individuals divert
our attention to the real estate prices and how they’ve seen a meteoric rise
and shows that the demand in the economy is still available, I concede to such
arguments, the real estate prices have seen a meteoric rise, yes, but does
someone realize that this meteoric rise hasn’t been followed up with a rise in
the demand and appetite for real estate in the country. My only rebuttal to
this argument comes from events of the recent past, they said prices in Miami,
Florida would never come down, look where that assumption took us.

Retail consumers are
being over-burdened by the debt they took on themselves during the recession of
2008 to fund lifestyle choices are now faced by inflation, and thus facing a
double edged sword, which we believe would in times to come reduce their
consumption capacities and thereby bringing an end to the India growth story
atleast for some time to come.

Yours truly, never ever wore one Indian dress during such dos' not because i was some rebel but because of the simple reason that I never felt comfortable wearing Indian dresses and to top that always felt wearing something Indian never made me more or less of an Indian.
So its Republic day again and all i see around me are Indians wishing each other a very happy republic day through their Facebook updates and some people through their Blackberry Messenger updates (Yes, the blackberry has now become the new twitter) What makes me chuckle is the fact that this patriotic feeling that everyone seems to show on this particular would be a thing of the past in not less than 24 hours. This show of oneness is nothing but a weird way of people wanting to become part of the bandwagon. Okay before anyone of you think about calling me a lone-wolf and someone whose just trying to be stand out from the crowd, I'd like to draw your attention to a certain facts that seem to be swept under the carpet every-time cause its supposedly controversial to even mention them....
When we actually got our independence, the constitution was framed and we started calling ourselves a republic just after that. Our founding fathers had a few very simple ideas that they wanted India of their dreams to achieve, they were:
Secular: We all know we aren't even fucking close to being called Secular, cause lets face it we aren't. We still believe in Vote-Bank politics may it be the Congress that has been doing it for eons or even Narendra Modi in the Gujarat elections just after the Godhra Incident. Lets face it a country which boasts of a population consisting of 75 percent Hindus is still scared of calling itself a Hindu nation cause it might hurt minority interest and thereby affecting the vote share in any election. This on paper is because of the fact that we are a secular nation?!?
Socialist: Even writing the very word makes me laugh, we might be called socialist if our sole objective was to help tax evasion and an enormous amount of dubious money to be transferred to the Swiss Alps then yes we are a fucking socialist nation but sadly that wasn't our objective so this country though has seen a very good amount of economic growth, it has sadly made the fat cats fatter and the poor ones wilt away and die.I am a strong advocate for capitalism and would rather die than to see the day that this country adopts communism but all the people going about how proud they are today need to go have a rethink.
Equality to Men and Women: Just one thing to say here- female foeticide and the ever increasing rates with regards to crime against women. From a country that was once proud of its women, and women leaders we have been reduced to a bunch of boob-fondlers and rapists.
Political Class: I do believe that being a young nation like ours, corruption would always play a huge role cause if we like it or not, that's how the great democracies around the world have evolved. My problem specifically is against the political class who have made it a point and taken upon themselves to take corruption to the next level wherein their motto has become to squander the last penny of Indias' wealth for their own-selves. A lot of you would complain and be up in arms about the fact that if i have such a problem why don't i join the political bandwagon and the be the change that i want to see, sadly my last name isn't Gandhi and therefore my chances of even trying to bring about a change look minuscule.
The reason for me to write this up apart from the fact that I had time on my hands today was because of the ludicrous amounts of patriotism i see around, not that i am against it, it just amuses me that its only days like today that we are even bothered. People saying that they are proud to be Indians would go back to cursing the nation come tomorrow for everything this country stands for or used to stand for.
So here is raising my glass of water to the Banana Republic i call Home....Happy Republic day...

We are supporting a stupid fuck up who for his 15 seconds of fame makes all of us look like people who can't really sit down and do the right thing but would applaud someone who according to me should be happy that he's in jail cause he was out there would have been lynched by the Marathi Manoos...
All of you, who ever has gone ballistic about the slap, how many of you actually went out to vote..don't give me that shit about we don't have any one to vote for..I know many of you are closet Rahul Gandhi admirers and the day he gives his name for PM, you'd gladly go out to vote for that little dumbfuck..
Your reaction is understandable, we all hate the price rises, I really do...but is the solution to every problem now about going and slapping people...but let's face it we won't go vote...
Harvinder Singh has become a cult hero, look @ the kind of shit we are trying to uphold here...if something doesn't go your way let's go slap that little bastard any which way...wonder if you will do the same to your bosses who makes you work like an ass and doesn't even pay you...think about it would you do it? Let's be frank you won't, cause you are just not bothered...we love the violence and the slapping, shoe throwing crap cause we are all voyeurs of another variety...the country won't run like this with people like you who would come up with a million excuses before doing anything and calling it "jugaad"
And what's with that old fart Anna saying things like why did Harvinder just hit him once, wonder what will his reaction be when someone would be fed up with his brand of shit and slap the living lights out of him....
We are all laughing today but our reaction would have been different if it was someone we knew or were close to who got slapped on National TV...let's stop this hypocrisy...how many of you (cross your hearts) can unequivocally still support the Anna Campaign after the disaster ride that it has been on...
We all love to wear caps and call ourselves Anna and make Harvinder Singh a cult hero but deep down inside we love the way things are and we won't want them to change cause its these discrepancies that we love in our system...it what we really are...
If you don't agree with me ill tell you what to do, go infront of a mirror and slap the fucking lights out of yourself or tell me where you are and ill do the fucking honors and record it and put it on youtube just for the other to watch and enjoy...
Naveen
Sent from BlackBerry® on Airtel

Rockstar: A True Mockery of Indian Sensibilities

I wanted to write this last night when I came back after enduring the harrowing experience of watching Rockstar...the movie touted as the movie which my generation would easily relate too...only if I knew.
Obviously before going for the movie as a ritual I read all reviews and it was brought to my notice that the movie talked about a rebellious rockstar who somehow manages to go against the system a very Jim Morrisonish portrayal...though I felt the comparison was overdone, I chose to take the risk and go watch the damn thing....
First things first, Ranbir Kapoor is no Jim Morrison, he's not even the guy who plays in the orchestra @ your neighbors wedding I am sure that guy is better than this baboon of an actor. Rebellious?? Does he even know what that word means..oh wait! He's from Bollywood, he wouldn't know jack-shit! Jim Morrison??? I am sure Jimmy boy there would have turned in his grave just on the mention that this dimwit was trying to epitomize him. Throughout the movie the only thing that Ranbir Kapoor absolutely does with perfection is prove to us is that he's the most over-rated thing to have happened to Bollywood (I know I know since the dawn of someone called Shah Rukh Khan, this has been a constant theme) but Ranbir can't fucking act, he just can't...he's howling throughout the movie more like someones' stuck up a hot rod up his ass...if he's a rockstar, then Mukesh Ambani is my adopted father.
What's with the name Jordan?? Like what?? Jordan?? Wtf is that supposed to be? Why are we Indians so stuck up with not being able to identifying ourselves as who we are? But jordan truly shows how hollow our thinking is, and the lack of respect for ones identity. A word of advise to them who go by the name "Jordan", please change your names cause after this movie you are gonna get a lot of grief. And for all those who thought Ranbir acted really well and displayed emotions, you need to actually get out book some time with me on my calendar and get a good bollocking from me. Cause the fuck-face can't act...
Okay now to the actress, Nargis-the Pakistani (I don't know her second name) you are a waste and please if you thought only being fair and running arnd in designer dresses would make us go oooh-lalala about you, you are wrong cause we have enough of that available to us (Select City, New Delhi, Enough said) the only thing I would say to you is, something with which you started the movie: BUGGER OFF you are useless, pathetic, can't act to save your life and your accent doesn't impress us nor does it impress the damn queen, wonder why do pakistanis across the board have these really weird knack of faking accents (Waqar Younis anyone, at least he bowled well, you Nargis can't even fucking do that)
Imtiaz, Jab We Met was something that made me cry, want to fall in love, embrace love for it brought happiness to me, this is a fucking disaster of a movie and I am sorry to say I would never want to watch your movies again, I know it doesn't really matter to you cause there are a billion wannabes around who still got out of that theatre yesterday thinking "Mein bhi Jordan type banunga" but it doesn't take away the fact that this movie was as bad as one of those B-Grade movies. And if your movie is good, Junglee Jawani needs to be nominated for the Oscars.
Few other things, what's with that dick-head Ranbir pinning up Free Tibet flags, cause for all I know he doesn't even know where the fucking place is, and for him to take up such a sensitive issue doesn't make him George Clooney but a ch**t whose gonna bring war to this country, and what's with glimpses of Kashmiris singing to Sada Haq? Like wtf?? Is he trying to fucking say that Kashmiris don't get what they want, cause half of them are fucking dreaming of going away and becoming part of Pakistan...imitiaz you bitch, please explain to me that...
The end....
Ahhh this is exactly how Rockstar ends, abrupt without any rhyme or reason and it is only then we realize that we have been jolly well taken for a ride and that what the producers have been able to do excellently well is sell us an image. Wrapping crap in gifting paper, doesn't change crap it remains shit!
I know reading this you still are gonna watch this sham, go ahead, spend your dads' hard earned white money or the well stashed black money on this epic disaster...if you do find the movie good, please don't fucking tell me why..cause I really am not interested in knowing....
Till I write again,
Naveen
Sent from BlackBerry®
Okay before any of you moronic Alcoholic Annonymous (AA) maniacs start thinking that i am referring to some drink whose only claim to fame is it being the largest selling drink in the world please stop reading now and go back to stalking girls over Facebook or searching for some shit-porn....

If i do have your attention now, I would just like to reiterate the point that I am a true Indian who still gets an adrenalin rush when he sings the national anthem and still stands at attention whenever or wherever he hears the national anthem being played ( many of you dont, to tell you the truth you are a disaster but lets not get into calling you names now), that out of the way whatever i am gonna write about is not going to make me less of an indian and if you do still feel that with respect to my views do one thing for me go ahead and stick that opinion of yours right up where the sun dont shine, cause frankly i dont give a shit....

Hmmmm, I am sure all of you have heard about the tale of the Pied Piper so i am not going to shed light on that right now, it seems that the nation or atleast a large chunk of it is gripped with the Anna fever (i am not talking about Anna Kournikova, so stop sending me those weird nonsensical jokes). The man has whipped up a frenzy in this nation and the people of this nation have sworn that they would have corruption out of this country by say 30th August.

Hmmm interesting, so this bill called the Jan-Lokpal Bill which many of Annas' supporters havent even read (i am sure many of you too havent) proposes in its own little manner to change the very way this country runs itself, i dont mind the PM or even the President to be under this guy called the Lokpal but are you seriously telling me that the Judiciary (which has always been looked upon as an independent authority) to be under its ambit. The fact that all of us have been during some part of our life been meted out unfair judgments, we still believe that bringing the whole damn judiciary under its ambit would make it function smoothly??

Okay lets take an example, a corporation X has been charged for fraudulent practises by say a group of individuals. As per the current system, X isnt guilty until proved otherwise. If now, the Judiciary comes under this "waste of my time Bill", it would always be scared that if it doesnt rule in favor of the plaintiff, they might just complain to the Lokpal and also sit on a hunger strike and might just give corporation X an unfair trial. I am sure Gandhi whose footsteps Anna seems to be walking on would turn in his grave, if this scenario actually plays out.

The second point that everyone seem to be blabbering about is corruption and how the Lokpal bill would bring an end to the whole vicious cycle, please please can any one of you pseudo-intellectuals on how this is going to work? So you mean to say making the Head of Department responsible/accountable for everything his subordinates do is going to take the corruption away. The time it takes for anything in this country to work is lets face facts is enormous adding more responsibility on the signing authority might just add to this. Okay, lets look at it in the viewpoint of the subordinate, the fact that the concept of a public-backlash might cost him his job (the job that he’s always dreamt about, the job that made his family, his village proud of him, the job that he might have bribed for) could force him to forgo due-diligence all-together just to keep the man on the street happy…cant really afford hunger strikes now can we…

Coming to the Parliament itself, how many of you dickheads supporting Anna went out and voted in 2009? Who did you vote for again, cause this corrupt government was holier than thou when we gave it the thumping majority. Ahh all of you think we didn’t know about the scams then, lets just stop being hypocritical for once. We all knew about the CWG mess and the 2G scam mess along with the Black Money mess right from the days of say Rajiv Gandhi (Remember Bofors anyone!!)

Why doesn’t Team Anna actually float a party and do what we’ve been doing for the last 65 years and become the change that they want to usher in…hell if Mayawati can get elected, so can they but they all know the real truth, the common man, ya ya the same one they harp on about doesn’t give a flying fuck about the Bill, all hes worried about is growth, food and education. He would still vote for the guy who gives him the money 24hrs before the day of elections.

The last 9 days have given rise to the Indian Pied Piper, you remember how that story ended right…let this country function guys, we have way more important things to tackle, we survived the last 65years, let these guys get themselves elected and then make rules not hold the country to ransom. I don’t support corruption and I would like to go away but this Bill is not taking anything away cause I know for a fact, given an opportunity all you unemployed dimwits would jump on the bandwagon of corruption if it suits you personally.

So now you know whenever you had that conversation about that new car that you bought with that amazing torque and something to do with the power of horses the only thing I was thinking about was the plush interiors and the bucket seats cause that's what I was bothered about.
Not that I never wanted to learn to drive, I am actually a proud member of two driving schools in the city, only because my family drove me up the wall for learning how to drive. Not that I didn't enjoy it, it gave me the full freedom of swearing @ fellow drivers on the road who didn't understand that I was just a "learner" and didn't have to be yelled at for stopping at signals and not even starting the car and as one of instructor told me "naveenji, aap yeh gadi ko ek jagah par nacha kyun rahein hain"
I never learned also to do with the fact that I never practised and my driving was restricted to Need for Speed Underground.
And then came the year 2011, my family had enough of me taking chauffeur driven comforts and had put their collective feet down to make me learn or never be able to sit in a car with them (which didn't look like a bad deal, cause as it is the whole family never sat together in one car) but then again I had to join a driving class again, but this wasn't any other driving class but a home-tutor who would come home and give me driving lessons on our car (more pictures of that later)
The family had thought this through, they knew I'd be a lot more careful on my car than I am on anyone else's car...and it also meant they had a close eye on my progress.
For the first time around, I wanted to learn how to drive and get the albatross off my neck (though it had become comfortable and cozy around my neck!!) The driving instructor (excl. Pictures tomorrow) rammed on and on about how great an instructor he was and how he had taught a girl who didn't even know how to ride a bicycle to drive, hearing this my dad had another flash of brilliance, he said why the fuck should you learn alone, let chandnii (my sister) learn too!! (Shows the love he has for both of us; both can't drive, with a guy who I think can't drive to save his life)
Chandnii has never driven anything in her life, she's shit-scared of crossing roads and calls it being safe, on the contrary was damn excited to learn and already thought of her glory days on Need for speed when she beat the youngest one!! Didn't ever know that we had a Michael Schumacher among us.
Day 1 was the day when my soaring tall claims that I knew the damn basics (fuck you Ramdeo and Shyam for a fuck all lessons in driving) came crashing down. I couldn't fucking change gears or make the damn thing move and my instructor went on fucking with me saying things like "bewakoof!! Tumhe itna bhi nahin aata" and then after this things like "gabhrao mat (don't panic)". I told him to take us to areas where there would be no traffic but our man took us to the busiest areas in nagpur!!
At one such junction, I couldn't start the damn vehicle and I was the first one on the signal so everyone behind me started hating me swearing @ me (which I responded with equal ferocity) but this is not about being sworn @ but @ that numbing experience I had, the sinking heart and the feeling that I would never be able to learn. My sister was very comforting and telling me that there was no problem but my instructor just sat their thinking if only I wasn't half this buggers size I would have slapped him cause he was more about I am embarrassed and no one would ever join my classes again...
Somehow with the miracle the car moved and we somehow got back home where my family were told about the incident and everyone started giving me advise on how I should have done it (just because they know) and the instructor from being the violent baldie in the car became the soft-spoken "I love your children more than you do" creep in front of my parents. If it weren't for me dad would have given him a thousand bucks just to keep the menace that we are in the morning away from him....
I don't know if I would ever want to drive or learn but the next 15 days I would just get through this just to prove to my baldie instructor that I can learn the damn thing and its not rocket science!!
On a side note, we have found a contributing editor for the blog, pictures in a little while...
Be good, and drive safe...
Naveen

The New Look: The blog I mean

Ahh, so the much needed change to the blog has been done from the let's go party friday night to a more random background has now been successfully done.

For all those who loved the last look and don't like the new one, my only advise to you is keep your ridiculous opinion to yourself.

Okay what's new apart from the freaking background, nothing actually cause the blog is not going to inherently change its views on life and people. So those of you who thought that I have turned over a new leaf, please feel disappointed and dejected and go throw yourself off the balcony.

One of the new year resolutions I had this year was to write more and express myself more through writting more and for once that resolution hasn't been broken yet and I would want to write more on this blog about things I see in my everyday life.

Don't worry its not one of those philosophical/mind numbing life experiences that I am talking about but the very small things that make life an experience to savour; cause I am sure you realise by now that we don't go the distance.

The blog would be filled with pictures that I might click on the phone (some funny, some outrageous and some that you might want to relate to and want to have your opinion on them, just opinions not the fucking book of anecdotes)

The blog might also shed some light on the current affairs on a much more regular basis and my opinions on the same.

Hopefully, all of you would be part of this outrageous journey with me.

Naveen

Secret Angels

Okay for all of those who did not watch it, you missed out on the best show on star world last night. I am not in the running for the fucking peace prize, so this is how i would review the year for all of you who want to read and the rest can just go wank themselves to death.

There are 3 broad categories i would be dividing this into (not that i am trying to organised its just so that you can read whatever gets you turned on!!) on another note if all the filthy words that i am throwing out on this blog bothers you so just stop reading ahead and go hide under the mattress or the Boogeyman will fuck the living lights out you and the last i heard he doesnt use vaseline anywhere on his body...(if i get another one of those educated people dont use F*** word in public, i will fucking go mental and track the person down and after sharing a few drinks shoot your fucking brains) back to the categories:

Politics: This aint the Huffington Post so dont expect me to be diplomatically correct and i have my own views and opinions on things so you got to live with that

Sports: Politics and Sports should be one header but then again as i said just trying to make the damn thing user friendly

Personal: I am not gonna fucking tell you about my spiritual conquests but just talk abt people who mattered during this year and would do so the next and if you arent on the list you should be, lets see be fucking happy

Politics:

Okay, this is my favorite topic, no fuck really...this has been the year Manmohan singh addressed the media thrice, we had scams of fantastic magnitudes, our environment minister woke up at last and realised ohh fuck i need to make some money in this whole racket. The Congress did what it does best, fuck the country and keep the fucking swiss still operational. A special mention here goes to our Agriculture Minister, one question i would love to ask him "How the fucking hell do you manage so many scams together??". According to me he should be teaching at elite MBA institutes and take a course on Money Laundering and Multi-tasking, atleast then the little pricks who call themselves MBAs' would actually become a valuable part of an organisation rather than just walking around with fat pay cheques for work that the office peon can manage...cunts!!

People over the last few months were left with a bad taste in their mouths (they werent taking deep-throating classes) was when some magazine exposed the scam of the century by letting the world know the nexus between politicians and journos?? Like people dont you have fucking better things to worry about?? i knew about this nexus when i was a little kid so if you guys are so distraught and wanting to kill yourself thinking this aint worth it, let me just say IT AINT FUCKING WORTH IT AND JUST KILL YOURSELF FOR GODS' SAKE ALREADY!!!

Another thing to note was Pakistan coming out and admitting that they have a terrorist problem? whats that supposed to mean? it means sorry but our own fucking army has turned against us. Wikileaks created quiet a buzz and its founder couldnt even "leak-out" in pleasure...the saga might just continue and i really dont give a fuck about the cunt who supposively came second in the race for TIME person of the year ( shows how pathetic our standards have fallen too, we were good till the Bottle of Coke)

How can i forget A raja, can someone please shove one of those telecom towers up where the sun dont shine and make him bleed to death from the rear that is...(stop having pictures, it just sounds gruesome)

Sports:

Hmm the CWG, what an opening ceremony? breath-taking display and i am sure all the people watching it live were just thinking Please god, we will come to the temple every day if you just allow this stadium to stand till we get out after that it can fucking collapse for all we know" thats exactly a lot of us thought...Kalmadi and Co. why are they still being probed, and that guy who said our hygiene standards arent good enough...buddy just because you fucking urinate on the road and relieve yourself on the tracks stop making such sweeping statements about the whole country...and if any of the readers of this blog is ever caught answering natures call on the road..then you would get up every morning and go to ur parents and ask them of what were they thinking when they conceived you cause i personally would thump the living lights out of you...

Our cricket team made it to the top of the world, no no the cunts didnt win the World Cup but became the best test playing nation in the world...blah blah blah...

Personal:

Another big thing that swept everyone off their feet was the Blackberry Messenger, i do confess to be a blackberry addict (no i dont fucking snort it, its figuratively speaking) i was astonished at the number of people carrying the device and humming that they were Blackberry boys and all they fucking knew was to open lousy fuck all groups and send lousy rajni jokes on them and on top of that Broadcast the same shit again and again as if they were jacking themselves off on some porn....personally i started deleting myself of such groups and started deleting people with such moronic habits...

The year 2010, was filled with a lot of ups and downs on the personal front. The year was also filled with a lot of marriages and lot of relationships that were broken and then were reunited (dont ask me, i am still confused). A year that one thought that they had at last met someone that they wanted to be with just to be told that there are miles and miles to go before one sleeps...

For all those people who at some point during the year wanted to kill me or hated me for all of you there is a little something i would like to say : FUCK OFF and for all those people who thought that relationship status brings a sense of stability ohh my god just go and throw yourself off a fucking bridge into a swamp that has crocodiles.

There are many that i would like to thank but i am too lazy to name any so if you know who you are thanks for making the journey special...and we still have a long way to go and ill make it sure that we make this very special...

On that note, hope all of you have a fucking great year both physically and mentally,

I will write back when i feel like again....

till then keep yourself safe and use protection for crying out loud

Naveen K Joshi
