When the Dark Knight is not fighting crime in Gotham City he likes to sing on stage in a rock band. No, really, I have the video to prove it! OK, this is not the real Batman but a group called "Innuendo".They did a cover to Queen's classic hit "One Vision". They performed it LIVE this last Halloween at a Rock Club called Geronimo's in Rome, Italy. I think they did a pretty good job on this song! Not bad at all! Parody Webcomic: BATMAN AND SONS

Awhile back I discovered a very interesting webcomic that, at the time, I meant to share because it's actually kind of cool & the drawing style is really excellent. But, being busy with this site, I sort of forgot about it. Then later a friend mentioned it to me & I was like, oh yeah, that is a cool site. I have to say something about it. But then I couldn't find it ( I have like 4 million bookmarks, ha ha ). Then I got busy & forgot about it again. Well, just recently a Bat-Blog Reader wrote me about it, asking if I had ever heard of a site called BATMAN AND SONS. He sent a link. When I got there I laughed & thought, OK, I have to report it now...so, finally, here it is! ( Thanks to Jim for re-reminding me! ) Now it's sort of a high-concept kinda thing & to get into it you have to release all the preconceived feelings you have about the Batman character. Basically, you just have to sort of go with it! The idea is that Batman is a Father & all the Robin characters through the years are his small children. There's even a tiny baby who is the "Batman Beyond" character. I guess you can say it's a little bit like a TV Family Sitcom. Yes, see, I said it was kinda weird. But once you start to read it the thing sort of grows on you. Now, I'm assuming that some people will think it's charming & others ( mainly uptight crybabies ) won't like it at all. It reminds me a lot of the recent DC Comics title "Tiny Titans", where all the characters are small children. I don't know. Please check it out & let me know what you think about it. 1966 BATMAN TV Show Actors To Be at Wizard World Comic Con in April, 2010

OK, I thought I would post this early so people could have enough time to save money or make plans. Batman Fans are in for a rare treat next April in California! Wizard World's "Anaheim Comic Con" will have 4 actors from the 1966 Batman TV Show. Be prepared to meet Adam West, Burt Ward, Yvonne Craig, & Julie Newmar! Of course we all know them as Batman, Robin The Boy Wonder, Batgirl, & Catwoman!! Now, Ward & Craig have come out of retirement to do this show so it might be your last chance to meet them both. BATMAN CUSTOM TOY: Mr. Potato Head is The Caped Crusader!

In the last few years Hasbro has totally revamped their Mr. Potato Head toy figure line by making him into licensed characters. There have been ones of The Transformers, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, KISS ( Rock Group ), Santa Claus & they even recently starting doing Sports Teams. But because Mattel has the license to exclusively make Batman figures they will probably NEVER make one of our favorite Dark Knight. Well, that's a total shame because check out this amazing BATMAN Custom Toy done by our friend Matt! One night Matt & his 2 brothers decided to totally customize some Mr. Potato Heads. He chose to make one of Batman. I really love this figure! Not only is it very well made but it's also a great version of the Silver Age Batman where he's wearing the blue/gray uniform with the yellow-oval bat-symbol. I wanna thank Matt for sending in these cool pics plus say, "Good Job!". I also want to invite any other creative Bat-Blog Fans to send in examples of their artwork.

Adam West revamped his website & there's even a few brand-new autographed photos you can buy. One that I thought was pretty cool is this image of him as Mayor West dressed like Batman with Brian as Robin, The Boy Wonder. It combines 2 different TV Shows he has done, Family Guy & 1966 Batman. We reported awhile back how Bloomingdale's Department Stores are helping DC Comics celebrate their 75th Anniversary by having a few special Superhero T-Shirts. Well, they have expanded that line of products with a few other articles of clothing. Here are some Batman Socks, Bat-Symbol Necktie, & even a Cashmere Scarf with a cool graphic of our favorite Caped Crusader! Now, why did I mention the "lots of money" part? Well, the socks are $30.00, the Tie is $125.00, & the Scarf is $225.00 -- OUCH! But, I gotta admit, that Bat-Scarf is pretty cool!

Breaking News: Batman's BATMOBILE CAR Spotted on Highway 95 North!

OK, These photos are pretty funny and, yes, it might be a situation where "you had to be there", but I think it's totally hilarious! These 2 pics were sent in by our friend Dave who said he was just traveling down the street when all of a sudden he & his Wife saw Batman's Car going down the street!! He explains it a lot better than me so here's what he wrote:

"My wife & I were heading back from the Chiller Theater Convention in New Jersey on Halloween Night and we spotted a Batmobile driving on 95 North through Connecticut! My wife Nancy tried taking a pic through my driver's window, then we caught a better pic on the passenger's side, making me MISS the exit for 95 North to Rhode Island! We were able to get back on the highway and make it home, but it was worth the pic. This gentleman driving the Batmobile looks like he modified his black Corvette with reflective tape, the Batman shield, and this gentleman actually painted and detailed the foam wings! I hope you enjoy the pics!"

Enjoy the pics? Oh man, these pics are GREAT! I also think the story is pretty funny too like how you missed your exit just to get a photo...Ha Ha! Thanks so much for sharing your story & almost risking your life. It WAS worth it!!

Gerry's JOKER Costume ( The Dark Knight Movie - Heath Ledger Version )

Since Halloween is over, & many people didn't get dressed-up until then, we have been getting a few photos from Bat-Blog Fans who wore costumes of their favorite Batman characters. That's awesome! Like, just the other night we got these cool pics from our friend Gerry who became The JOKER this year. He chose the "Heath Ledger" version from The Dark Knight movie. Both the costume & make-up are extremely well done but the neat thing was he went to a party that had a Professional Photographer. I like how you guys sort of replicated some famous movie images. Like, when Heath ( as the Joker ) removed his Bank Robber Mask, that's pretty neat. The image with the Joker Playing Card is also a nice tribute. Thanks to Gerry for sending these in. I know a lot of people are gonna really like them.

FINE ART: Biadza's BATMAN and JOKER Drawings!

One aspect of doing the Bat-Blog that I really love is getting to meet other Bat-Fans from around the globe. It's a really neat experience. Here's a perfect example: Here are some drawings sent in by a guy named Biadza, who is 21 years old & lives in France. Oh man, what a beautiful place. I have always wanted to go there. Anyways, he was kind enough to send some Batman-related artwork he did of Batman & the Joker. Both pieces are extremely original & I really like them. Now, I wanna thank Biadza for sending these in, they're wonderful. And, as always, I want to invite any other creative people to send their work in too. Remember: Sharing the love of the Batman Universe is the main function of this site.

Batman's SCARECROW Villain Found in South Africa!

Earlier today I received a very nice letter from a guy named Johan who lives all the way in South Africa. He said he went to a club the other night called AQUA. The club was having their annual Halloween Party & a few people dressed-up in costume because there was a contest going on. Johan got his picture taken with the 2 guys who got 1st & 2nd place. One guy was Rorschach, from the WATCHMEN Graphic Novel & Movie. He came in second place. But the cool thing is that the Scarecrow, who recently escaped from Arkham Asylum, won First Place!! Thank you Johan for sending the wonderful photo. These are really great costumes & it looks like it was a very fun event! Plus, I'm glad that Batman is so popular there, that's very cool.

Hey Kids! Wallpaper! Every Wednesday we post a few exclusive Batman Backgrounds you can use to brighten your desktop. This week I thought I would show-off some examples of how super-creative a few Bat-Blog Fans can be! The 1st Wallpaper features a totally Custom-Made Batman Action Figure Toy made by our friend Nico, who lives in the Philippines. It's really great! The next pic is one that I really love because it was sent in by our buddy Xavier, who is only 9 years old, but he drew this wonderful Batman picture in the "Animated Series" style! OK, to make his image fit the "Wallpaper Format" I had to move a few characters around, ha ha! But you get the idea! This picture is totally amazing!! Vintage BATMAN MEMORBILIA & TOYS From Around The World!

I know that the Bat-Blog has kinda been crazy with the Halloween Holiday lately & we have been neglecting the toy collector aspect of the blog. So, here's a post to make up for it, ha ha! Here's a really nice example of a few pieces of Bat-Memorabilia made in different parts of the world. The 1st example comes from the United Kingdom ( England ) & is the Original Bubble Gum Wax Wrapper for a Set of 1966 Batman Trading Cards. Oh man, I am totally crazy over those vintage-style graphics...awesome! The next item might appear to be French but it's not from France. This is a Batman Board Game from Canada! It was made by Hasbro in 1973. OK, the last 3 pictures are a Set of Japanese Batman Canvas Sneakers. These shoes, of course, are from Japan & came out around 1966. The original shoe box is shown here with the product & it's equally as cool! Again, the graphics are just totally beautiful. Do you live outside the USA? I recently met a Graphic Artist named Gerry Cleary. The cool thing is that he is a HUGE Batman Fan & sent me this amazing artwork he did of the Joker. Of course it's the "Heath Ledger version" of the character from "The Dark Knight" movie. I knew I had to share it here & since the graphic was so large I thought I would make it a Batman Desktop Wallpaper. It has a cartoon style but is also very detailed. Look at the Joker Playing Cards, they're cool. The pattern on Joker's shirt is exactly like the one worn by Heath in the movie, a nice detail. The 1st picture shown here is the Desktop Wallpaper I made & the 2nd photo is Gerry's original graphic. As you can see this guy has a lot of talent. New BATMAN, ROBIN, & JOKER T-Shirts To Keep An Eye Out For!

I'm always trying to keep up with Batman T-Shirts Designs & when I come across some that I think are pretty cool I like to share them. Here are 3 new ones that I think are very well done. Now the 1st one is my favorite because it's a graphic of what the original 1966 TOPPS BATMAN Bubble Gum Card Package ( Wax Wrapper ) looked like. That real-life piece of Bat-memorabilia has always been very special to me because I really loved these Trading Cards as a very little kid! The next one has more of a "Pop Art" feel about it & I'm actually trying to figure out who's comic book art they used. I'm thinking it might be the artist Dick Giordano but I'm not sure. Either way, it's the "Silver Age" Batman that I have always liked with the blue / gray bat-suit & yellow-oval bat-symbol logo. For the last example I included this one with split-faces of Batman & The Joker. The reason is because it totally reminds me of all the T-Shirts that were produced during the 1989 Batman Movie craze. Joseph's HARLEY QUINN Batman Tattoo Art Photo

I recently met a guy named Joseph who just got a new Batman-related tattoo that I knew I had to share here because it's extremely cool! The bat-tat looks like Vintage Pin-Up Girlie Art with HARLEY QUINN, The Joker's Girlfriend. I like how there is a fake "Autographed Signature" next to her, that's clever. It's the "Batman: The Animated Series" version that, personally, I like the best! Overall the colors are bright & sharp...looks great! Thank you Joseph for sharing this with my readers. Most Bat-Blog Readers are very creative, intelligent, artistic people & some others are complete idiots, ha ha! But this post is about one of the creative ones! Here's some pics sent in by our friend Joey who, Halloween 2009, made a Scarecrow Costume...an incredibly AWESOME Scarecrow Costume! He took his inspiration from the character that appeared in the new BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game. For people who have not played this game yet, & don't know what he looks like, I added a photo ( last one ) showing him. I reason I did that was because you have to see how amazing this costume really is! It's just totally great & a very good likeness. Well done Joey & thank for sending the photos. Now, I know Halloween is over & we're gonna be winding down our coverage, but a lot of people didn't get dressed-up until the actual night so we might get a few more pics. The holiday here has been pretty fun this year & I want to thank everybody who got involved. All of the "Costume Photos" this year have been totally insane, every single one of them. A new friend to the Bat-Blog, named Jared, sent us a photo of his BATMAN Jack O' Lantern Pumpkin. He carved it last year but he said he didn't know about the Bat-Blog then so he's sending it now, ha ha. Oh man, it looks totally WICKED! Seriously, he did a great job on it. It shows Batman flying through the sky of Gotham City. It even has the Bat-Signal symbol in the air...very cool! The Vintage Style "Japanese Batman" ( in the 1st photo ) is my personal favorite & I really like the one that looks like a cover to an old Golden Age "Detective Comics" Comic Book. BATMAN RETURNS Batman & Catwoman Costumes By Zack!

This is our friend Zack with his lovely Girlfriend. Of course he is Batman (1992 BATMAN RETURNS "Michael Keaton" movie version ) & she is perfect as the Catwoman. Zack told me that even though he built his costume himself, with items he found from different locations, he did custom-build the chest piece for this bat-suit. OK, I gotta say that both costumes look really really great & I don't mean any disrespect here but, Dude, your Girlfriend is totally HOT! But all kidding aside, I guarentee that both of you will be a total hit at any party you go to...HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! ( Zack - Thanks for sending the wonderful pics )
