Bakugan Comic Contest

May the power of the six worlds of Vestroia flow through you… more specifically, through your fingertips and pencils!

During the month of May, Bakugan calls forth artistic brawlers to conjure up creative, unique and hilarious comics.

The top three comics will be awarded an epic prize! One Grand Prize winner will receive a Bakugan Battle Pack and two Bakugan Hand Launchers! Second place will receive a Bakugan Starter Pack and a Hand Launcher. Lastly, Third place will receive a single Bakugan Hand Launcher.

Bakugan Comic Contest Requirements:

· To enter: Simply post your entry, or link to your entry, directly to the official entry thread.

· Only one entry per user.

· Entry must be original and cannot infringe any copyrights.

· Entries will be judged for originality, creativity, and quality.

· Entries can be hand-drawn or illustrated on a computer.

Please refer to the official rules for specific information on how to submit an entry, prizing, and rules.

Activision Announces Bakugan Game for Wii, Nintendo DS, XBox 360 and Playstation

Activision announced today that they will be developing a Bakugan video game for all major game systems. They’re shooting for a fall 2009 release date, so a Bakugan video game should be on store shelves and available at the BattleSpehres.com Bakugan Store in time for Christmas 2009.

The trailer looks awesome! I can’t wait for this one to come out! Check back to find more news about the game. We’ll be posting updates and a release date as soon as we find out.

Digital Blue to Develop Bakugan Theme Electronic Gadgets

Digital Blue and Cartoon Network Enterprises announced today their agreement for Digital Blue to develop and market Bakugan-themed electronics. Digital Blue, a leader in developing electronics and software for the youth and teen market, plans to create Bakugan Digital Cameras, Alarm Clock Radios and MP3 Players.

These new items will be available in stores in May of 2009, and in the BattleSpheres Bakugan Store as soon as we can get our hands on them.

Learn to Play Bakugan

Looking to learn how to play Bakugan the official way? The Bakugan Battle Brawlers official website at Bakugan.com has a great online tutorial on Bakugan Game Play. Click Here to try their online demo.

The best part of having an official demo is to be the final say on rules disputes between players. Most disputes can be resolved by checking with the official Bakugan site for clarification.

There are also links to lists of Bakugan, Gate Cards and Strategy Tips.

Bakugan Battle Brawlers Coming to the Big Screen!

Spin Master and Universal Pictures are announcing today that the Bakugan Battle Brawlers Movie will be produced by Stuber Productions. Its no surprise that a major movie studio would pick up the rights to the explosively popular Bakugan story. Its consistently a top-ten show on Cartoon Network and has an established following of loyal fans.

According to Ronnen Harary of Spin Master:

Bakugan brings something original and exciting to the boys’ action genre and we’re looking forward to working with Stuber Productions and Universal to unleash that power on the big screen.

Could a Bakugan Movie be as popular and successful as the 2007 big screen adaptation of the Transformers cartoons?

Official Bakugan Rule Change

The makers of Bakugan Battle Brawlers, Spin Master, have announced today that they have made a change in the way ties are handled in Bakugan Battles.

According to their post,

In the event of a tie: The battle is won by the first Bakugan that stood on the Gate card.

Previously, in the event of a tie, the brawlers each roll another Bakugan and the first one to open on a Gate Card wins.

The new rules are simpler, but in my opinion, a cop out. I think that there should be a better way to resolve ties.

Amazon Still the Only Major Online Store Carrying Bakugan on Cyber Monday

Amazon.com is still the best place to find the increasingly rare Bakguan Battle Brawlers Starter Packs and Booster Packs. I thought for sure Walmart.com would have their stocks replenished for the Cyber Monday shopping craze, but as of this morning, all of their Bakugan Balls were out of stock. The only thing Walmart.com has available are the action figures and some launchers and accessories. How long will Amazon.com’s stock last? It’s hard to say, but if this year’s hottest toy is anything like those in prior years, you better get your Bakugan gifts fast before everyone runs out.

Bakugan Black Friday

I’m keeping my eyes open for Bakugan Deals on Black Friday. I thought I would be posting about a great deal on Bakugan Toys at Walmart.com because a quick search turned up a Bakugan Battle Brawlers 2 Pack for $20. As prices for the hard-to-find Bakugan Toys are skyrocketing because they are so hard to find, this seemed like a great offer. However, as you can see in the screenshot below, WalMart.com is out of stock for Backugan toys.

So it still appears that the best place to buy Bakugan Toys online is at Amazon.com or at Ebay.com. I’ll be visiting some brick and mortar stores to see if anyone has any in stock, but it seems that demand is far out pacing supply.
