This year, Collaco will captain the FNDY 343 Tribute team. Each member of the team will climb the skyscraper, wearing the name and photograph of one of the 343 firefighters who died on 9/11.

“Whenever I think of 9/11, I have an image of the firefighters in the high rises, so the stair climb for me is synonymous with firefighters in a stairwell,” Collaco said in David Leipman’s San Francisco Examiner report. Collaco will be doing the climb twice – once with gear, the other without. “People will have to dig deep. I’ll remind them that they’re doing it for the firefighters who died and to let their families know that we haven’t forgotten,” Collaco said.

Bauer’s Transportation will be looking to provide Transportation for this event as well as unique raffle prizes at the event.

Bauer’ Intelligent Transportation currently are in need of Chauffeurs. The Chauffeurs employed at Bauer’s drive both retail and transit type routes.  The retail route transports passengers on chartered trips, sightseeing tours and works “on demand” or at the convenience of the groups they transport. The second type of route Bauer’s employees drive are the “transit” routes. These types of routes have predetermined stops on a schedule, and typically happen on a daily basis.

All of Bauer’s Chauffeurs routinely interact with customers, riders and or tour guides to make all trips comfortable, safe, and as informative as possible or necessary. Chauffeurs are directly responsible for making sure tours and routes stay on-time, ensuring the overall success of each trip. All of Bauer’s Chauffeurs act as customer service representatives, tour guides, program directors, and customer safety directors.

The San Francisco 49ers or Oakland Raiders both have big games coming up. In my blog last week,  I discussed how every year we give over 50 turkeys and Care Bags with all the fixings to families in need at the Willie Brown Center at  Hunter’s Point.  The sun was shining in San Francisco yesterday when we arrived at the center and people were lined up to greet us. I felt on top of the world walking around taking pictures and talking to the grateful crowd. I got so many smiles, handshakes, and praises for our good deed. It truly was an awesome feeling to see first-hand what we do bring such joy into people’s lives.

It made my heart feel good to give back for Thanksgiving. I could tell that the rest of the Bauer’s employees felt the same way. We were all singing and smiling on our way home. I think our project manager, Mia S. summed everybody’s feelings when she said: “Being a part of the Bauer’s Thanksgiving Dinner Donation was a very special experience for me. Knowing that I, as a member of the Bauer’s team, was able to help some 50 families have a true Thanksgiving meal meant very much.  As I was handing out turkeys and care bags I saw so many happy and grateful faces, and I knew then that we at Bauer’s are actually making a difference in these people’s lives, even if only for one day. And, that, in and of itself, makes this Thanksgiving a special one for me.”
