this year Bax Interaction in partnership with Doontime has

created a brand new site for the new sector based service launched on the 5th September by PEM Technology.

<a

href='http://www.baxinteraction.co.uk/blog/?attachment_id=37' rel='attachment wp-att-37' title='PEM Technology Home

alt='PEM Technology Home Page' />

The site features a number of innovations including a fully integrated

forum, news articles and website seamlessly linked and driven by separate software ‘engines’.

This is the first

site of this kind that has been created by Doontime and aims to reflect the up to date focussed approach that PEM

Technology is taking by launching a specialist set of services for the technology sectors.

Commenting on the

completion and launch of the site, Chris Walklett, Head of PEM Technology, commented

“ Because of the nature of

this new service line and the type of user, we wanted a website which had a technology focussed feel to it but with a

flexible and interactive platform. Under the direction of Steve Bax at BIL, Doontime created the PEM Technology site and

had it up and running ready for its launch at the Cambridge Enterprise Conference. There was a lot of work involved, and a

rather tight and immovable deadline, but as Steve knows our business and our staff well, we achieved our objective and are

delighted with the outcome.”

Visit the new site at www.pemtechnology.co.uk

and see for yourself!

To find out more about PEM Technology please explore their <a

status on the 1st July 2007 following the completion of two consecutive years continuing professional development (in

addition to his previous demonstration of theoretical knowledge and practical expertise).

The Chartered Institute of

Marketing (CIM) says “Having Chartered Marketer status demonstrates that you practise the highest professional marketing

standards by keeping your marketing knowledge and skills current.”

Steve has been a full member of the CIM since

1990 and is also an active member of the Market Research Society.

He commented ” I am delighted to be able to use

the Chartered Marketer designation. Marketing can be seen as something of a ‘black art’ and I believe that is vital to

demonstrate its professional standing to those that work in other fields! It is especially important to show your

commitment to keeping your knowledge and skills up to date when you are working with various clients and sectors delivering

strategy, research, mentoring and training.”

"The plan should not be filed on a shelf or

left propping open an office door somewhere! It should be ‘owned’ by all members of the organisation and form part of

other and measured.

Did you succeed? Are you succeeding? A page of A4 is better than nothing at all!"

Marketing Planning That Works!

Bax Interaction’s MD, Steve

Bax, spoke at The Very Early Lunch Club in Bury St Edmunds recently.

The audience were asked who had a current

marketing plan and only 2 of the 26 attendees actually did! Of these just one had been communicated to all in the

organisation and this was because it was an OMB (Owner Managed Business)!

As Steve commented, this is not at all

surprising and the very reason that he was talking on this subject!!

Steve talked through the reasons why so many

fall at the first hurdle of creating a marketing plan, the process involved, the key things to audit, how to generate an

effective SWOT analysis, examples of objectives, the strategy and the promotional mix and finally the control and review

process.

He summarised with the following words of advice:-

1. There is a need for CREATIVITY to make sure

you are heard

2. Don’t be ‘woolly’ – be focused – ensure that you are clear about where you are going so

that you can communicate this internally and THEN to the outside world!

3. Don’t forget the needs of ALL customers

– i.e. Personnel, shareholders, stakeholders, customers, potential customers

4. Have some sort of plan – even a

side of A4 is better than no plan at all!

5. Don’t get hung up on the marketing speak or the models and theories.

Planning works as long as you keep its limitations in perspective!

6. Avoid ‘follow the leader strategies’ –

look for the gaps and go for them!

7. Work your plan – it is not for decoration – there are no academic marks

for effort! It should ‘live’

8. Ensure that you get the ‘buy in’ from all your stakeholders – this comes from

INVOLVING them in the process – measuring performance and recognising/ rewarding their and your successes!

9.

Know your competitors – know your competitors – know your competitors

10. Do regular ‘reality checks’ on

what your customers and market REALLY think about you – Do you ASSUME!

Don’t be afraid to fail – if at

first etc. It works for other successful organisations – with a little bit of encouragement and time it can work for you

too!

Bax Interaction and Doontime have formed a

strategic alliance to offer the market an unparalleled strategic marketing website package.

The skills of each

business are highly complimentary to meet the needs of all organisations in terms of their online presence.
BIL will

identify what your online needs are through a combination of research and strategic marketing planning, a brief will be

created for an online presence, following an agreed proposal your site can be quickly developed and launched. As with all

BIL services, we will be there to help you every step of the way to launch and for as long as you need us

afterwards.

Commenting on the need for the alliance Steve Bax, the MD of BIL said “ It is no longer enough to see

your online presence as just one component of your marketing mix. It should be at the core of your activity. A website

should be so much more than an afterthought or an online brochure. It should be dynamic, provide your customers and

prospects with good reasons to return and be up to date. I am finding that one of the key outputs of any research that I am

asked to undertake is the need to improve or build the online activity. This alliance enables that to happen very

effectively and helps us to make your marketing work”

Miguel Sammito, who runs Doontime, added “ There are many

options for web site design now. We are learning how to make sites more interesting, dynamic and interactive on a daily

basis. We specialise in sites that seamlessly link the key elements of blogs, interesting web pages, RSS feeds and real

time statistical packages to measure traffic and individual visits. We are passionate about what we do. We see BIL as a

natural partner as we understand each other, work well together and share a similar vision.”

of its first conference

Bax Interaction Limited (BIL), has been appointed by Europa Science, a young publishing

company specialising in European scientific, technical and medical markets, to provide sales and marketing support to

ensure the success of its first conference.

The conference, entitled Machine Vision in European Manufacturing, is

the first of its kind and is aimed at all those involved in the purchase and specification of vision systems for use in

manufacturing industries across Europe. The conference is being staged by one of Europa Science’s publications, Imaging

and Machine Vision Europe, and is seen as a natural development of the high profile that this title has in the

sector.

This conference is endorsed by the UK Industrial Vision Association, supported by the European Machine

Vision Association and is targeted at a select audience of directors and senior managers from the manufacturing sector. An

all-inclusive package is offered to delegates to provide a first-class conference experience in a UK centre of

innovation.

The conference will be staged at St John’s College in Cambridge on the 13th and 14th September

2007.

World-class speakers on the subject of machine vision applications have already been secured from Daimler

Chrysler AG Group Research and the European Machine Vision Association with more to be added in the very near

future.

Commenting on the appointment, Steve Bax, the MD of BIL, said “ We are delighted to have been appointed to

assist in the successful delivery of this exciting new conference. This new event on the calendar is taking a refreshing

approach to adding value for the delegates by focusing on presenting real life experiences from those who have applied

vision systems to their manufacturing processes. This is very different from the more traditional trade conference approach

where the supply side speaks! The BIL team will provide the specialised sales and marketing support that Europa Science

needs to ensure that their first conference is a measurable success for the delegates and their companies, the speakers and

Europa Science itself.”

refreshingly up to date approach to marketing research and strategy, has today launched its brand new website.

The

site highlights just some of the broad range of marketing expertise that BIL can apply to make your organisation’s

marketing work.

BIL provides a range of organisations with strategic marketing research that makes marketing work in

their sector. Its approach is one of cost effective research followed by strategic recommendations and then ongoing support

to ensure that the marketing activities work.

BIL’s philosophy is to be their client’s partners not just

consultants. Not only do they stay with their clients throughout the implementation stages they are always available to

advise, help and actually do the marketing work!

Commenting on BIL’s new website, Steve Bax, the MD, said “I am

delighted with the new website. It reflects the up to date thinking that BIL offers as well as providing a medium to

provide clients and non-clients alike with the interaction that is core to our marketing approach. There will be regular

comments on both business and marketing issues as well as events and news from our clients and BIL too. We would welcome

any comments that you would like to make about the site. Please have a look and either send comment direct to me or

alternatively you can post it in the categories area of the site!”
