The most recent fatal motorbike crash, as it turned out to be a CHP chase. The 54 year old, Kenneth Blake, who is a resident of San Leandro was killed instantly around 8 pm on Redwood Road near 580 freeway in Castro Valley. His motorcycle crashed into a big rig that was carrying Coca-Cola.

The owner of the motorcycle drove very fast and was a danger to the surrounding drivers. The CHP officer tried to stop him. The rider ran on two red lights and crashed into a truck when it was turning on a green light onto a 580 freeway.

Kenneth Blake was wearing a hamlet but the impact was to great and he died right away

A driver of Honda Accord was injured after a California Highway Patrol crashed into it after passing on a red light on Sunday of 04/03/2011. The driver and the passenger of the Honda were taken to a Castro Valley Eden Medical Center. Both sustained soft tissue injuries in this car accident.

High speed chase after a motorcycle that was approaching 120 mph on I 880 South bound did not turn out well for a CHP officer and occupants of the Honda. The motorcycle exited at Decoto Road in Fremont and was followed by CHP vehicle passing the Decoto Road and Paseo Padre Pkwy intersection.

The second CHP vehicle passed on a red light and collided with Honda Accord which also hit a Lexus that stopped on intersection. Motorcycle escaped from this pursuit and innocent people got injured in this case.

One must pay extra attention on big intersection. Many people are in a hurry and often times COPs and Ambulances want to pass on a red light.

Muni operator Henry Gray blacked out and caused the accident at the accident. Two-car L-Taraval train, caused a collision with a stationary K-Ingleside and which caused 47 people injured.

The San Francisco Municiapal Transportation Agency, which operates Muni, had way too many injury claims to deal with. Many of these case have already settled but some are still pending with some more serious injuries.

The most expensive case is a $475,000 lawsuite filed by Kit Fong and Kwan Hop Ma. Some other suits are averaging $320,000 setelment to Karen and Warren Smith, and $131,248 to Mr. Tzu-Tien Huang. The total of these three settlements is $926,248

With the latest payouts, the MTA will have shelled out $2.4 million related to injury claims and lawsuits from the accident, according to The City Attorney’s Office. The two vehicles involved in the accident suffered $4.5 million in damages. Collectively, the costs have totaled $6.9 million.

An operator who caused the accident is no longer work for Muni. This operator has been known to have a bad operating record.

The report about the cause of the accident will come out later on this year, according to Peter Knudson, the spokesman for NTSB. The NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) has been investigating this accident for over a year and a half.

The driver of what appeared to be a blue Honda drove away from the accident. A 29 year old Delvin Creighton, was taken to a Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treating his head injuries and other soft tissue injuries to his arm and chest area. If anyone knows who was the driver of the blue Honda please contact San Jose Police Department at 408-277-4654.

I do hope that his injuries heal fast and this police officer can begin his duties as soon as possible.

Motorcycle Accident Statistics

Less than 50% of motorcyclists killed from their injuries were wearing a helmet. A leading cause of death in motorcycle crashes is head injury. The NHTSA estimates that the lives of 500 bikers were saved by helmets, but 307 more could have been saved. Helmets reduce the chance of a fatality by 29% in a crash, by their estimates.

Motorcyclist fatalities are increasingly frequent on rural roads.

Around 31% of those killed in motorcycle accidents were intoxicated.

Around 50% of motorcycle fatalities occur when trying to negotiate a curve.

Over 80% of fatalities occur “off-road.”

A majority of fatalities occur on undivided roadways.

Around 41% of bikers involved in fatal crashes in 1998 were speeding.

Almost 60 percent of motorcyclist fatalities occur at night

Over 50% of single-bike fatalities involve collision with a fixed object.

Almost 25% of fatal motorcycle crashes involve braking and steering maneuvers that probably contributed to the fatality.

More riders age 40 and over are getting killed

More fatally injured motorcyclists were found to be driving without a license — going from 18% in 1998 to nearly a third in 1999.

The driver of a blue Honda caused serious injuries to a motorcycle operator and drove away. California law prohibits the driver at fault to flea the scene. I hope this driver can be found. In this particular case this police officer will be responsible for medical expenses. I am pretty sure that he has a great insurance coverage and will recover from these injuries. However, his insurance should not be responsible for paying these medical expenses.

The driver of stolen Toyota crashed into another vehicle which was driven by a mother who had four of her daughters with her. The kids were taken by an ambulance to a near by Hospital and the driver who caused the accident ran away from the scene on foot.

It is a standard practice for insurance companies to have no liability coverage for stolen cars. Only person who was authorized to drive the vehicle by owner is going to have a liability coverage. This particular car accident does not cover mother and her four children for pain and suffering, chiropractic rehabilitation and an ambulance bill. I hope that the lady had medical payments or uninsured motorist under her policy. Medical payments coverage covers any medical related expenses after car accident up to whatever the limits are and regardless whose fault it was. Uninsured motorist coverage is for cases like this one when the driver at fault does not have insurance and was the cause of this accident. If this lady has adequate uninsured motorist coverage all of the medical bills will be paid in full.

Uninsured motorist policy is good for cases when the vehicle is being operated without insurance, hit and run drivers, and stolen vehicles. The uninsured motorist coverage will pay for a complete chiropractic rehabilitation, ambulance trip, hospital E.R. visits, loss of pay at work, and pain and suffering recovery. One must know that this coverage is limited to the amount the cover was purchased.

I see way too many people in my clinic who get into car accidents and it was not their fault. Often time these injured people do not have uninsured motorist policy under their liability insurance and the person who caused the car accident does not have insurance at all. It is a very unfortunate situation. If you are reading this post check your policy right now. Adding uninsured motorist your policy is not going to cost you arm a leg. We are probably talking extra $100 a year or so. Also add medical payment coverage to your policy as well. If for some reason you got into a car accident and it was your fault and you sustained soft tissue injuries, your medical payment coverage will cover all of the medical expenses. Again, $5000 medical payment coverage will cost you about $100 a year or so. This is the best part of your automobile coverage.

DMV of California reported that about 1.3 million people are driving without insurance in this State. That is a lot of people. As US economy gets worse and more and more people still can not find jobs this situation is only going to increase. For the sake of your own health and those who are being passengers in your vehicle I strongly recommend that you get uninsured motorist coverage or medical payments coverage. It is a great idea to take a look at your declaration page and check the limits of your coverage.

A driver of an eighteen wheeler truck crashed a tree in a connector while changing I-880 to I-238 freeway. The man was driving Southbound on interstate 880. It is a very dangerous section of a freeway. I personally drive there from time to time and there are way too many cars coming into that tunnel from different directions. One must be extremely careful and cautious while driving there.

After the big truck struck the tree, it stopped in a knife-jacked position. It happened around 9.20 am according to California Highway Patrol report. Alameda Country corner’s bureau has reported that the driver of an eighteen wheeler died instantly. This connector was shut down for nearly three hours while authorities were investigating and cleaning up the mess.

It is imperative that one follows these instructions in order to get fare compensation from insurance companies.

The first very important factor is about you submitting a police report together with the rest of your paperwork. A police report is a legal document that proves that car accident happened at the certain place and the certain time and it was not your fault. Police report is usually ready with 10 business days from the time of the accident and can be picked up in a San Francisco Bay Area local Police Station for a minimal fee or sometimes even for free. Police report is a very important document when it comes down to settlement. Third party insurance can not deny the liability regarding the injuries and compensation for car repairs.

The second very important factor is that you have to see your local chiropractor or any other medical care professional of your choice who is specializing in automobile accident rehabilitation and documentation. Even if the damage to the vehicle was very minimal it is important to get yourself checked, thus avoiding possibility of pain in the future and aggravation. If you wait for too long to get a treatment insurance company might deny to pay for medical bills at all later on. They will claim that the current pain that you have is a result from a different injury. Usually patients in my clinic experiencing the following symptoms after the car accident: neck, mid-back, lower-back, shoulder and ribs pain, as well as headaches and difficulty sleeping.

The third factor that you must submit your claim as soon as you finish your chiropractic rehabilitation. Statue of limitations in a State of California is 2 years from the time of the accident and you want to settle your case within that period of time. Many insurance adjusters will postpone the settlement for as long as they can. When the time runs out they will force you to settle for lesser amount of money.

Car Accident Lawyers or Personal Injury Attorneys are the ones who specialize in these type of cases. If you want to save yourself time and save yourself from dealing with insurance adjusters it would be a great idea to Car Accident Lawyer for yourself. If you need a great San Francisco Bay Area Car Accident Lawyer feel free to CONTACT us and we will provide you a name a very reputable attorney. If you are a parent, and your son and daughter have reached the age when they can drive, you must understand the risks that are associated with it. Research shows that car accident involved teenagers are very common.

Text messaging, GPS navigation, internet browsing capabilities on a phone, drunk driving, night driving and distraction from passenger could all be the cause of the car crash. Lack of driving experience is making these automobile accidents even worse.

The Risks According to the Statistics

The risks of teenage driving are pretty high. Take a look at these statistics.

About 400,000 teens between 16 and 20 years of age are severely injured in car accidents, and more than 5,000 lose their lives. Despite the very small percentage (10%) of the population that teenagers account for, teenage car crashes actually account for 12 percent of fatal car accidents. In other terms, teenage car accidents are behind 26 billion dollars worth of car accidents, which is 30% of all costs associated with car accidents in the entire country. Drivers between the age of 16-20 years of age are four times more susceptible to get into car accidents. The first year of driving experience is the worse.

What to Do After a Teenage Car Accident

Get the Facts

Do not assume automatically that your child was at fault. Get the facts, and make sure you understand what has happened. Give your teenage driver the benefit of the doubt. Make sure you run the statement thru a police.

Call a Car Accident Lawyer

If you need a Reputable California Personal Injury attorney feel free to CONTACT us and we will gladly provide you the information refer you to the best of the best.

Educate your child about safe driving

Please talk to your child after the car accident and explain one more time about the dangers of driving and how important it is to keep the eyes on the road at all times. Don’t ever get tired to giver your child a warning and remind him or her about drunk drivers on the road and how dangerous it is.

Can you prevent teenage car Accidents?

Every parent has a problem controlling their teenagers and thus one can not prevent car crashes. However, do not treat your teenager like a child. Make sure that he or she understands the real dangers car accidents and the consequences.

Just as you can’t fully control the behavior of your teenagers, you cannot prevent teenage car crashes. The possibility of one occurring still lies in the hands of your teenage driver. However, you can do your best to lessen the dangers that threaten their lives by always reminding them to become responsible drivers. Call other parents and ask them to talk to the friend’s of your child. It is imperative that you get a good insurance in case car accident does happen.

Bottom line it is important is that your teenage driver understands the danger, and your role as the primary educator makes a big difference.

About forty three percent of the overall whiplash injuries required hospitalization and treatment with chiropractors for soft tissue injuries. Major complaints were neck pain, lower back pain and shoulder pain. About thirty two percent of all injuries were for head-on-collisions, and the rest are due to side-on accidents or other injuries.

Rear-end collisions are the major cause of whiplash injuries. It is because of the mechanics of the automobile crash. Rapid change of speed causes acceleration and deceleration of the cervical spine, thus forcefully moving head forward and backwards. Head restrain will help to reduce the effect of whiplash injury by ten percent. Even small fender bender will cause whiplash injuries and can create long lasting problems if not treated on time by your local chiropractic doctor.

Research suggests that about sixty percent of the drivers do not have their head positioned correctly. Thus, this is the recipe more frequent injuries during rear end collisions. About 125,000 injuries could have been prevented in the USA alone if people would pay attention to their head restraints and that would save them from injuries to the cervical spine.

Saab and Volvo have developed a solution with active head restraints and Volvo’s patented WHIPS, Whiplash Protection System. These automatically adjust to suit the driver in the event of an impact and have been proven to reduce whiplash injuries by 51 per cent.

Those who are on the road all the time must be aware of the traffic conditions on the road all the time. Drivers always should check mirrors and avoid rapid and sudden breaking, thus preventing other drivers from getting involved into a rear-end collision. No device exists that eliminates whiplash, but the use of such safety features, in addition to an alert driving style, significantly reduces the risk.

Whiplash injury is a very serious condition which can cause the loss of productivity at work and activities of daily living. Often time it requires at eight to twelve weeks of chiropractic rehabilitation for a complete healing. Pain killers will not do any good to anyone who was rear-ended in a automobile collision. Proper documentation of your case will insure the maximum monetary recovery for your injury.
