Relevant is defined as: “having significant and demonstrable bearing on the matter at hand” (Merriam Webster).

Relevant 360° virtual tours can be defined as: “having significant and demonstrable bearing on the matter at hand through the use of immersive technology”.

Virtual tour scenes are significant because they are not showing a limited view of the property like traditional photography. Full screen virtual tours show the entire space from head to toe, so potential clients can learn more about what you are marketing. The 360° virtual tour serves as evidence that your establishment or project is not afraid to show the ENTIRE view. And the evidence of the quality of your property becomes real once the client views the physical property for the first time. The “proof is in the pudding” – and the evidence is in the virtual tour.

A core belief in my business is to share the “if you’ve got it, flaunt it” philosophy. This mantra I have said to myself over and over stems from my past experience. I have had a couple of clients in the early stage of my business who could not flaunt their property with any level of cleaning or staging. As the saying states … “garbage in, garbage out”. The flip-side of that statement holds true too, “beauty in, beauty out”.

So what is my point? If you are proud about how:

professional, cute, colorful, mysterious, classy, fun, unique (and on and on)

your business is … and you want to utilize cutting edge rich media in the form of 360° virtual tours, please do not hesitate to call me for a free quote and consultation on how virtual tours can help leverage your business during these very competitive times. Show potential clients how relevant your marketing is to the real thing – and build their trust.

Bay Area VR created high resolution full screen 360° virtual tours for the 1890 Inn when they relaunched their redesigned website January 4th. The owner of the the 1890 Inn knew that virtual tours offer an outstanding return on investment due to previously having virtual tours on their old site. With the advancement of technology in virtual tour production and the adoption of broadband internet it made sense to update the new site with cutting edge virtual tours. Now potential clients are able to see each room in it’s entirety – from the ceiling to the floor – and in FULL SCREEN! In addition to creating crystal clear 360° virtual tours for the new Inn1890.com there is now an updated reservation system. To view any of the unique Victorian rooms with 360° virtual tours, visit Inn1890.com.

I found it interesting that 1890 is not only the address of the Inn, it is also the year it was built. The 1890 Inn is conveniently located in between Golden Gate Park, UCSF, USF, St. Mary’s and the Haight Ashbury. The 1890 Inn is a historic bed and breakfast which has over 17 unique and charming rooms to choose from. I strongly recommend 1890 Inn for those traveling abroad in the US, wanting to experience a few nights of real San Francisco. The 1890 Inn has authentic variety of decor, inviting common areas, breakfast included, good wifi, and is one block from Haight Street.

Do not miss the unique experience of waking up in the morning and fixing a delicious breakfast and chatting with other guests in the quiet, relaxing kitchen. It’s really a one of a kind San Francisco experience! In the mean time, grab your cup of coffee and enjoy the new virtual tours on Inn1890.com.

For the 2009 fogfest, I decided to take my gear and “test the waters” of a large, semi-fast moving, crowd. And a major part of my test was using a mono-pod with my panoramic camera set-up. It was the first time I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone of my sturdy (level) tripod to use a hand held monopod.

Once again, the Fog Fest landed on a gorgeous weekend in Pacifica. When I was there with my family around mid-afternoon, it was a sea of people. When I returned at 4 p.m. to try to capture some virtual tours, the crowd died down a little … but not much.

Here are the tours:

<a href="http://www.bayareavr.com/featured/fogfest/fogfest_north" target="_blank" rel="shadowbox"[fogfest] title="North End of the Pacifica Fog Fest">
North End of the Pacifica Fog Fest

My company was contacted by alumni of Santa Clara University in early September about collaborating on the Refract House Project .

Small 3d Rendered Image of the Refract House

The REFRACT House is an innovative solar project created by Team California (CCA and University of Santa Clara architecture and design students) in the 2009 Solar Decathlon, a high-profile competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. The project is over a year’s worth of design development and six months of construction by a team of 100 students from the above colleges for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon.

I was asked what my quote would be for 15 panoramas to help the “communication” aspect of the project. After I understood that the students would have to fund raise to pay me, I decided to donate my time. Plus that enabled me to get a little recognition for this HUGE project on the Sponsor page and to be a part of something very special.

The students were approaching their deadline for completing the house prior to having the house de-constructed, and reassembled in Washington D.C. in early October. It was exciting to see all of the innovative, young, energy doing such a wonderful project. One of the students wrote a blog post to share the day of the shoot.

I do not have a link to the final project because there is some more fine tuning, but i thought I’d wish team of students and the other sponsors the very best luck with this years Solar Decathlon. When I have the “green light” to show the 360 tours, I’ll make sure to post here.
