Gillian, thanks for your question and sorry it took so long to reply. In fact, this system is for training purposes only. The databases students will work with is a sample database only, no personally-identifiable information of actual patients will be used.
Thanks again for your interest,

The content, linguistic, technical and cultural criteria and standards listed above are solid but from a conventional teaching perspective.
However, they do not take account of the emerging pedagogical demands of effective learning environments (National Academies of Science, US). With respect, there is no mention of key current goals of education including: supports the development of competencies such as good thinking (critical, creative and collaborative), expects students to engage in effective communication ( both the discriminating access and representation of ideas) and acting in (global, personal and socially) responsible ways. These aspects of teaching are at the root of effective and thoughtful engagement of contemporary learners and need to underpin forward thinking learning resource design considerations.
I look forward to reviewing and commenting on aspects of this text that might be "tweaked" to more effectively address these pressing areas of effective science teaching and learning.
