I came across this post about endometriosis being healed through the implementation of the paleo diet. &amp;nbsp;This article isn't just about endometriosis but about ignoring your natural inherent ways to function. &amp;nbsp;It is about covering up your own goodness, your original state. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Who knows when Alison began losing her original self? &amp;nbsp;Who knows when she began living an artificial life? &amp;nbsp;But isn't that what we all need to ask ourselves. &amp;nbsp;"When did we begin to live in a fake world?"&lt;br /&gt;

Fake emotions.&lt;br /&gt;

So I let a mental stressor take over my life during the month of January. &amp;nbsp;For my poor family, I was not that much fun at home, especially in the evenings when we were all tired at the end of the day. &amp;nbsp;I worked through my issue and it has been a memory for quite some time. &amp;nbsp;&lt;b&gt;That was in January and it is now March.&lt;/b&gt; &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The problem is the after effects. &amp;nbsp;I let my diet go. &amp;nbsp;I let my workouts go. &amp;nbsp;I began staying up too late at night and &amp;nbsp;found it more difficult to get up early enough to do an adequate work out. &amp;nbsp;The diet is probably the easier one to fix. &amp;nbsp;I resumed better eating with a sincere commitment to myself. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I began taking the Metagenics supplement, &lt;a href="http://createpurpose.blogspot.com/2012/02/are-you-taking-smart-multi-why-not.html" target="_blank"&gt;Phyto-Multi&lt;/a&gt; and this gave me fast improvements. I slept better and had more energy. &amp;nbsp;I still have to make an effort to quit all my activities at 9 PM and just get to bed. &amp;nbsp;I am getting better at that, as well.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
My workouts were probably affected the most and that is a little disheartening. &amp;nbsp;For two weeks at Christmas I allowed myself to eat anything I wanted and that didn't help when the new year rolled around. &amp;nbsp; When your carbohydrate intake is too high, you cannot work out with your usual intensity. &amp;nbsp;I always notice it the very next day after a high carbohydrate meal. &amp;nbsp;I get tired very quickly and my muscles give out much too soon. &amp;nbsp;It almost feels as if I am coming down with a cold. &amp;nbsp; (&lt;a href="http://timetogopaleo.blogspot.com/2011/12/dr-lutz-and-paleo.html" target="_blank"&gt;What's the big deal with carbs?&lt;/a&gt;) &amp;nbsp;(&lt;a href="http://www.ctds.info/fiberfoods.html" target="_blank"&gt;Whole grains are not your friend)&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It's also easy to correct if &amp;nbsp;too much time hasn't elapsed. &amp;nbsp;If you lay off your work out for about two weeks you will have to start from scratch all over again. &amp;nbsp;That's how quickly we lose muscle tone. &amp;nbsp;If I go three days without a work out, I have to use lighter weights and take more rests. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
During this time off the routine someone can easily come down with a cold or flu like illness and once that is over it takes even more time to get back into balance. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Lesson learned. &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It isn't easy to get back up to speed. &amp;nbsp; I am blaming it on boredom with my current collection of workout DVDs. Often&amp;nbsp;we blame aging and old injuries.But should we? &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Before the thaw of winter finally comes by spring, I will be back to my usual routine. &amp;nbsp;I'm fed up with the dragging feeling. &lt;br /&gt;

I was one of the vendors at the YMCA health fair yesterday. &amp;nbsp;The hospital was providing blood testing services. &amp;nbsp;It was mentioned in this &lt;a href="http://auburnpub.com/sports/local/auburn-ymca-weiu-hosting-health-fair/article_c5067ca6-513c-11e1-8122-001871e3ce6c.html" target="_blank"&gt;Citizen article here&lt;/a&gt;. &amp;nbsp;The YMCA holds a number of wellness events each year. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
While I was there, I promoted the &lt;a href="http://www.createpurpose.blogspot.com/2012/02/change-your-platechange-your-pain.html" target="_blank"&gt;Change Your Plate Change Your Pain&lt;/a&gt; program. &amp;nbsp;This includes a quick survey that shows how the body is responding to dietary stress and I teach folks how to make healthier changes. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Margaret Hartman, a licensed occupational therapist who teaches deep water fitness provided information on how to add more balance to your day. &amp;nbsp;She was talking to health fair attendees about&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;recognizing how they react to various sensory stimuli that may cause them to spiral into a negative pattern of behavior, poor eating, and other quality of life issues in their relationships, ability to work, etc.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;a href="http://connecshenacupuncture.com/default.aspx" target="_blank"&gt;Connecshen Acpuncture&lt;/a&gt; was also there. &amp;nbsp;Susan Sheldon and I &amp;nbsp;were talking to another attendee how taking care of yourself is more than making it to your doctor appointments. &amp;nbsp;It can mean having to quit your job because the job demands are so out of balance that the immune system is weakened by lack of sleep, high cortisol output, etc. &amp;nbsp;Receiving a pay check is not as important when there is personal conflict due to unethical business practices, overwork, bullying co-workers, or an unsafe environment.&lt;br /&gt;

I ran into Kelly Cleason-Kelly, who graduated from my alma mater, &lt;a href="http://www.nycc.edu/" target="_blank"&gt;NYCC&lt;/a&gt;. &amp;nbsp;She offers a free book on making food a complementary part of your lifestyle rather than an enemy that you are always at war with. &amp;nbsp;Her approach doesn't focus on restricting calories or banning a certain food. &amp;nbsp;She shows you how nourishing your body also nourishes your life's meaning. &amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="http://kelly-cleason-kelly.healthcoach.integrativenutrition.com/" target="_blank"&gt;CLICK HERE for her book.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Deb Turner is a local partner with &lt;a href="http://www.seniorshelpingseniors.com/About.aspx" target="_blank"&gt;Seniors Helping Seniors&lt;/a&gt;, an organization that matches up seniors who help each other. &amp;nbsp;Ms. Turner is very inspirational to talk to. &amp;nbsp;She shared with me how valuable people are and this program helps older people remain purposeful in their community. &amp;nbsp;The founder of Seniors Helping Seniors worked with Mother Teresa in India for 14 years. &amp;nbsp;Ms. Turner is continuing a great lineage of handing down the gift of relationships. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Shelley Augustine is a Community Services Representative for &lt;a href="http://www.homeinstead.com/" target="_blank"&gt;Home Instead.&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp; She emphasized the importance of older people feeling confident in their own homes. &amp;nbsp;After all, your home is your castle. &amp;nbsp;She was very cheerful and knows how to make a person feel good. &amp;nbsp;She boosted me up when she told me she reads my monthly Citizen columns!&lt;br /&gt;

I talked with fellow chiropractor, John Lesch. &amp;nbsp;We were discussing how the insurance industry has restricted chiropractic coverage which gives the public a limited view of chiropractic's health benefits. &amp;nbsp;Without our educational efforts, the public we deal with will miss out on important healing information. &amp;nbsp;We are dedicated to making sure our clients are well educated and tuned into their own healing power.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;of the spine. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;It was also a major revelation when I learned how&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;damage progresses for years but we don't feel it.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;They showed me my X-rays and explained how&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;mechanical disruptions of the spine adds incredible&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;stress to the brain and spinal cord. &amp;nbsp;A sample X-ray&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;above is very similar to my own X-rays.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;This was a big mind shift to me. &amp;nbsp;I thought spinal cord&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;damage was paralysis like Christopher Reeve. &amp;nbsp;I&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;never considered milder forms of damage could have&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;such an impact on disease and mental status.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;If I never addressed this 17 years ago, I would have&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;suffered from a gradual and progressive degenerative&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;process. Pain doesn't show up until damage is fairly&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;permanent. &amp;nbsp;Combine it with a stressful life style and &amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;poor nutrition and chronic disease takes hold.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;I also learned chiropractic gave mental patients great&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;results in the early 1900's before drug therapy&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;became the monopolizing treatment. &amp;nbsp;It is now&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial; font-weight: normal; line-height: 24px; text-align: left; white-space: normal;"&gt;showing great promise for addiction recovery.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
One of the first things I mention is that it is my job to teach my practice members the natural laws of biology.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UbhydaJN3ts/T0Awe8GyBaI/AAAAAAAABC0/EBQjZC6UJR8/s1600/diabetes-283x424.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"&gt;&lt;img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UbhydaJN3ts/T0Awe8GyBaI/AAAAAAAABC0/EBQjZC6UJR8/s320/diabetes-283x424.jpg" width="213" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;After all, whatever the body is going through, it is happening for &amp;nbsp;a logical reason. &amp;nbsp;Pain and sickness are due to logical reasons. &amp;nbsp;Not all treatment protocols used today follow the natural laws of biology. &amp;nbsp;It makes sense to understand what is stressing the body and making a change to do the opposite. &amp;nbsp;In Dr. Hyman's recent article he discusses how doctors will address high blood sugar by prescribing a medicine that lowers blood glucose levels. &amp;nbsp;So these medicines makes the liver release less glucose into the blood, rather than letting the pancreas send the same message to the liver. &amp;nbsp;Diabetes doctors call this problem a "leaky liver," but I can't find much of an explanation as to why the pancreas and liver are both falling down on the job. &amp;nbsp;Is it that much easier to take a pill than learn what our vital organs are responding to?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Here's another example. &amp;nbsp;From a chiropractic point of view, a muslce relaxant medication does not relax a &amp;nbsp;muscle spasm. &amp;nbsp;It actually works to depress the central nervous system. &amp;nbsp;While the muscle becomes "depressed," the cause of the spasm is never addressed. Do you want to depress the entire central nervous system, really?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Read more about Dr. Hyman's interest in not missing the "subtle manifestation of illness." &amp;nbsp;And keep up with your chiropractic &lt;b&gt;Don't Just Feel Better; Do Everything Better Plan &lt;/b&gt;because we will be following natural laws.&lt;br /&gt;

Many people think chiropractic is a treatment of the &lt;b&gt;hands to the spine&lt;/b&gt; that makes you feel better.&lt;br /&gt;
Simple and to the point.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
But that description &amp;nbsp;leaves out the most important reason:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Non-physical healing signals must travel through an intact physical body.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1. The most important highway of travel is the spinal cord.&lt;br /&gt;
2. The spine is its closest neighbor and they work as a team.&lt;br /&gt;
3. Drugs will never address structure and shape of the spine.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
My pet peeve is that people wait for a "certain type of pain" before they come in to get adjusted. &lt;br /&gt;
Why give up precious time while daily stress constantly tramples on the spine?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
