<p>OK so the most important one first since I know y&#8217;all are on the edge of your seats!</p>
<p>12&nbsp; POUNDS&nbsp;SINCE&nbsp;SEPTEMBER&nbsp;1st !&nbsp;</p>
<p>O&nbsp;&nbsp; M&nbsp;&nbsp; G !!</p>
<p>This is really exciting for me. I have literally tried everything going and I know my biggest problem has been that my metabolism has shut down to nothing.</p>
<p>I am trying to eat 1800 healthy calories a day. Believe it or not, 1800 calories is a challenge for me. I am not very hungry.</p>
<p>My trainer says a big part of my problem is that the slow metabolism is (in part) because I have eaten so little, so infrequently, and for so long, that my a$$ is hanging on to every calorie it can soak up.</p>
<p>I do have more energy, although I am still finding I am in need of a nap several days a week, but it&#8217;s better than EVERY day! I am also finding time, energy and motivation to get up and move. Walking, a bit of weights, and even a little jogging thrown in&#8230;. oh only seconds (20 seconds or so) thrown in to several minutes of walking, and it isn&#8217;t really &quot;jogging&quot;. (my trainer calls it WOGGING!&nbsp;LOL)</p>
<h1><u>Matcha</u></h1>
<p>OH I know when I get interested in something I get downright obsessed! I am calling my new obsession a &quot;hobby&quot;. It sounds so much more civilized!</p>
<p>So my new &quot;hobby&quot; has been green tea! I have bought books on green tea history, green tea types, green tea health benefits. I have AT&nbsp;LEAST 20 different kinds of green, white, oolong and pu&#8217;erh teas, and I have something different every day. This morning I felt like a heavy tea that could handle a little soy milk and a speck of sugar so I brewed me some pu&#8217;erh.</p>
<p>The nice thing about loose leave and cake type teas is that (as long as you have a high quality tea) you can brew the same leaves several times &#8230;. ah but I digress&#8230; the heading of this section is MATCHA, and MATCHA the topic shall be.</p>
<p>Matcha is my latest green tea discovery. The really cool thing about matcha tea (it is actually from Japan not China) is that it is ground whole leaf, not just a stew of the leaves. They shade it for the last part of it&#8217;s growing to spike the chlorophyl content so it is a brilliant emerald green. It&#8217;s just lovely.</p>
<p>The only down side (for me) is that it tastes so GREEN. It&#8217;s funny that I love spinach and kaleand beet greens and swiss chard and broccoli and well&#8230; name a green vegetable I don&#8217;t absolutely LOVE. I just can&#8217;t get into DRINKING my green. <img height="141" width="219" border="0" align="right" src="http://weighfit.com/wp-content/uploads/HLIC/ff8285b895ae76c44d53b73e29a40698.jpg" alt="matcha with oarmeal" /></p>
<p>So my solution to this was to add my matcha to my breakfast! This morning I ate GREEN&nbsp;OATS, with a speck of brown sugar and some unsweetened soy milk. mmmmmmmmmm</p>
<p>It was delicious, and consuming matcha is the nutritional equivalent of like 10-20 cups of chinese loose leaf green tea of high quality. Talk about a nutritional wallop!</p>
<p>So that is my newest soapbox&#8230;. yummy green oats for breakfast and knowing I am giving my body the best I can.</p>

<p>So WHY the weight loss after so long just piling it on, without really understanding. <p>I have had such a problem with energy depletion over the past 10 years or so. I have found my self tired&#8230; not the tired you feel when you don&#8217;t get enough sleep one night, but the deep, bone tired, energy depleted weariness of the flu. Imagine feeling like that every day. Is it any wonder that overweight people can&#8217;t exercise?</p>
<p>I guess I shouldn&#8217;t speak for everyone. I just imagined that I wasn&#8217;t alone in feeling this way.</p>
<p>I have always resorted to caffeine to give me an energy shot&#8230;. just enough to get me to the next nap. :) More recently though, I have been concerned about the caffeine jolt, followed by the inevitable crash, and everything that goes with that&#8230; mood swings, sugar swings, cravings&#8230; there has to be a better way!</p>
<p>So I have recently become obsessed with green tea. Not &quot;tea bag&quot; tea, but real chinese and japanese green, white, oolong, black and pu&#8217;erh teas from beautiful tea gardens. Teas that are nurtured lovingly by experienced farmers and picked for quality by people who understand the finished product.</p>
<p><img height="150" width="200" border="0" align="right" src="http://www.benaturallywell.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/matcha.JPG" alt="matcha tea" />Tea has quite a fascinating history, that I won&#8217;t go into. What is most interesting, for this article, is the energy that green tea gives. Yes, it has caffeine, but scientists have discovered that the caffeine in green tea doesn&#8217;t completely explain the energy. Interestingly enough, the energy experienced from green tea is longer lasting (up to six hours), and very even. So it doesn&#8217;t seem to spike and burn out. Scientists think that the caffeine is tempered by the catechins, or other nutrients found in the tea leaves.</p>
<p>Matcha tea has really caught my attention. It is the Japanese tea that is used in Japanese tea ceremony, and is actually a powder of the whole leaf. The metabolic boost is worth developing a taste for!</p>

<p>In this respect, matcha green tea is different from some of the prescription drugs for obesity, and herbal products like ephedra, which can raise heart rates and blood pressure, and are not recommended for many individuals.</p>

<p>Well today I started with my first fit camp class. I am the biggest and least fit of this group of 10 women (plus the trainer). *sigh&#8230; </p>
<p>So today she did a fit assessment.. we did a number of different exercies and measured how many we could do in a minute of continuous reps. (or in my case, how many I could do&#8230; I only got to the full minute on one! LOL)</p>
<p>I really like this class because the trainer does circuits of different kinds of exercise, mixed in with cardio. There was a step class going on in another room, and when we jogged by we got a peek&#8230; I am WAI not co-ordinated yet to do step class, or aerobics (do they still do those??) </p>
<p>Anyway, I&#8217;m darn near dead, but by hook or by crook I was going to finish that class, and I will finish it on Friday, and Monday and Wednesday&#8230; and well you get the picture. </p>

I like the cleanse&#8230; it is a non-fasting cleanse&#8230; I am trying to eat clean foods while on it, but I am not stressing too much about it. I am not making a zillion trips to the bathroom either which is very good because I have done cleanses before where I couldn&#8217;t be 10 feet from a bathroom for a whole week! . I really really love the waiFit shakes too. They are so good, and I love to mix 2 scoops of fiber in with them. Chocolate or vanilla, either one tastes really good with the fiber.</p>
<p>Now we get to calories. I don&#8217;t eat that much. I&#8217;ve been logging my meals and snacks for a couple of weeks now, and I eat 1200 to 1500 calories most days. Now when I was growing up, 1200 was what you (I) ate when I wanted to lose weight. That is what we were told was right for height and etc, but NOW my trainer says that&#8217;s probably part of the reason I am where I am&#8230; apparently I am supposed to be eating 1800 to 2000 calories a day ?? </p>
<p>Well I am ecstatic to know that! LOL but I am a little nervous. I am AFRAID to eat more&#8230;. what guidelines do you all follow? I am interested to know, because I can&#8217;t quite believe that I should eat MORE to LOSE weight.</p>

<p>We went out for dinner last evening and I took Donna&#8217;s recommendation and had 2 bloody Mary&#8217;s for my cocktail&#8230; I didn&#8217;t order the special vodka, but I did the calorie calculation and each drink is only 125 calories, and I love tomato juice!</p>
<p>Unfortunately I had some wings :-( but I have already decided that if I have the occasional slip it&#8217;s no big deal. As with everything, it isn&#8217;t what you do TODAY that matters, it is what you do EVERY day. </p>
<p>This is true in diets and in business. Your day to day habits result in the life you have created. An occasional indulgence won&#8217;t cause devastation. </p>
<p>So have you checked out <a href="http://www.sparkpeople.com">Spark People.com?</a> I am enjoying them very much. I am keeping a food journal there and they add up the calories as you enter your foods, so you know exactly where you stand. </p>
<p>Yesterday I threw my <a href="http://weighfit.com" target="_blank">WAIFIT</a> French Vanilla meal replacement in the blender with a handful of frozen fruit, 2 scoops of natural fiber blend, 1 cup of water and 1 cup of SILK, unsweetened soy drink.&nbsp; Boy do I ever love these shakes. They are delicious. </p>
<p>Happy Sunday all!</p>
<p>Oh in case anyone is wondering, I am not weighing myself every day. I am only going to weigh myself once a week on Friday. That is a BIG step for me&#8230;. but necessary! </p>

<p><img border="0" align="right" src="https://shop.waiora.com/images/items/5010-lg.jpg" alt="Waifit Dutch Chocolate shake" />Well here it is Saturday&#8230; I STILL don&#8217;t have my <a href="http://weighfit.com" target="_blank">WAIFIT</a> cleanse and burn products so I am feeling like y&#8217;all have a head start on me!! I had a <a href="https://shop.waiora.com/images/items/5010-lg.jpg" target="_blank">Waifit dutch chocolate shake</a> yesterday and shook it up with 2 scoops of natural fiber blend. mmmmm the citrus and chocolate is definitely a great experience. Did any of you ever get those chocolate oranges in your Christmas stocking??</p>
<p>OK so it&#8217;s Saturday. I find Saturday a challenge. I need to plan so that I don&#8217;t end up eating whatever is at hand, however, we don&#8217;t know what we are doing today. We might go boating, but the weather is a little iffy&#8230; it&#8217;s supposed to cloud over but we don&#8217;t know when. So Jim has gone to work for a bit and if it still looks fine when he gets back, then we&#8217;ll chance it.</p>
<p>Since I don&#8217;t know exactly what, when&#8230; I am going to head over to the farmers market and pick up some fresh produce, and I will prepare them all raw and sliced and in containers in the fridge. That way I&#8217;ve got some &quot;ready to eat&quot; nutrition.</p>
<p>Really, food isn&#8217;t a huge issue for me. I already eat nutritious meals and snacks during the day. My issue is the extras&#8230;. chips and buttered popcorn in the evening, Bacardi Breezers on the weekend&#8230; I think maybe the hardest part will be drinking water when everyone else is having a cocktail.</p>
<p>Maybe I&#8217;ll pick up some tomato juice while I&#8217;m out!</p>
<p>Well&#8230; off to my workout! :-)</p>

<p>Donna posted a great video the other day. It was a 10 minute cardio workout from <a target="_blank" href="http://sparkpeople.com/">Spark People .com</a></p>
<p>I followed the link to the site, because I enjoyed the video and I found a TREASURE TROVE! No kidding when you sign up you answer a few questions about weight and your goals, and the gosh durned thing designs a program for you including meal plan, exercises and so much more.</p>
<p>This is great for me, because I like a program that gives me some daily suggestions on what to eat, what to do and etc. Go check it out. It might not be for everyone, but it is a perfect tool for me!!</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve always hated having my picture taken. Like many people, I am critical of every little thing, &#8230; this picture makes me look fat, my face looks goofy in this one, I am standing funny in that one. &#8230;</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve also always thought I was fat, and even when I was 130 pounds I didn&#8217;t want a picture of me taken because I always looked too big. Taking pictures at 223 pounds is the most embarrassing thing I can remember.</p>

<h1>Waiora introduces <a target="_blank" href="http://www.weighfit.com">Waifit</a></h1>
<p>Oh I know I have been delinquent. This healthy living and eating thing is so gosh darned hard to keep up when your old habits want to keep dragging you backwards!&nbsp; I really really want to get back on track..</p>
<h1><span style="font-size: medium;">WHY?</span></h1>
<p>Why bother getting fit? Why bother losing weight. It&#8217;s a lot of work, and I am a lazy person. I don&#8217;t mind work that I enjoy&#8230; but that&#8217;s kinda what got me here in the first place.</p>
<p>I love the internet&#8230; internet marketing, designing websites, advertising, and blogging and chatting on forums. My life and my life&#8217;s work has become sitting in front of a computer usually with my feet up and the phone glued to my ear.</p>
<p><b>Why would I want to change that?</b></p>
<p>Well&#8230; I am 46 years old and 80 pounds over weight. My mom had her first heart attack at 48. Both of my parents have heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. While mom isn&#8217;t too overweight now, she was most of her life, and my dad definitely is.</p>
<p>Both of them are still living, my dad 75 years old, and mom will be 70 this year. Neither of them, however, have any quality of life that I can see.</p>
<p>If I we were to agree that genetics plays a strong role in our longevity, then the odds are that I will live well past 70. I want to LIVE past 70. I want to walk the beach, take in a sunset, get groceries when I want&#8230; I want to enjoy grandchildren and great grandchildren. I want to be able to get in and out of a car without difficulty, bend down to hug a child, reach up in the cupboards to get a cake mix.</p>
<p>I want to LIVE my life. I need to start now.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve already let too many precious moments slip by. I won&#8217;t beat myself up about yesterday, but I will start living my life, and creating that vibrant healthy woman starting right NOW.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s WHY!</p>
