The great thing about creating an online course is you only have to create it once, and then you can sell it over and over again. Also, you can reach a wider audience because your course is online. This means you can have students from all around the world and in any time zone all taking your course when it’s convenient for them.

In this article, we are going to break down how to create and sell your online course in six simple steps. Plus we’ve included a free printable with over 150 profitable online course ideas to help you get started.

Here are six simple steps that will help you create and sell online courses in no time:

1. Choose a profitable topic for your online course.

2. Find a platform to host your course.

3. Create your course outline.

4. Fill in the course with value and content.

5. Set a price for your course.

Let’s dive into each of these steps in more detail.

1. How to come up with a topic for a profitable online course

There are many easy ways to get ideas for profitable online courses. One way is to Google the topics you are considering and see if there is a demand for that information. Don’t worry if you notice other people have already created courses on your topic. That’s actually a good sign! It means there are successful courses on the market already, and you can add your own unique flair and guidance. This is the fun thing about education… we are all expanding and growing, and there is always something new to add to the mix.

Decide what your online course will be about by choosing a topic you are passionate about or have mastered yourself. It’s much easier to talk about and teach a subject that you love, rather than forcing yourself to teach something that feels completely new to you.

Start by thinking in terms of your own transformation. Some of the best online courses help people overcome something they struggle with or that keeps them up at night. The reason you want to think of the transformation is you want to provide detailed steps, value, and achievable goals, so the person is willing to pay for the course.

Also, think in terms of high value… a life-altering transformation is something people will be willing to sign up for now AND they will be willing to pay now.

You probably have been through a few life shifts that you can help others through. You don’t have to be an expert or be certified to share what you know. Often, the best teachers are the ones who just went through the experience themselves. You just need to be a few steps ahead in order to be qualified to teach what you know through your online course.

2. Find a platform to host your online course

If you want to create and sell online courses, you’ll need to choose a course hosting platform. This is where your course content will live and where students will access it. There are many platforms to choose from to host your online course. Some popular platforms include Thrivecart, Udemy, Thinkific, Kajabi, Skillshare and Teachable. We prefer Thrivecart because it allows you to easily outline your course and then create a sales page. They also provide tons of support and education to help you get your online course created and launched. We have a Digital Products Course that teaches you how to get your course easily set up in a platform like Thrivecart.

You could also use Facebook Business pages set to private to host courses for free. This is a great way to connect through a social media platform AND also host a course where members can come together and meet. Just know that Facebook could decide to ban you at any time and then your courses and materials could be difficult to access. We recommend saving all your content onto your computer or an external hard drive as a backup if you choose to use Facebook.

Once you’ve created your course in Thrivecart, you can grab a login link and place it on your own WordPress Site. This way, you can have your course available for access via a login on your homepage. You can easily set up a WordPress Site with a host provider like Bluehost. With our link to Bluehost, you can get set up for as low as $2.95 a month. This is a great way to go if you want to have your audience stay on your website and also see new things you might be offering.

3. Create an Outline for Your Online Course

Next, you need to create a detailed outline of the steps you took to get from where you were (a beginner) to where you are now (a master at your craft). It can even be helpful to share your story about how you felt when you started, how awkward you felt, and what you had to do mentally to stick to your goal. Go back in time and remember how it felt to be a beginner and think of what inspired you, what motivated you, and what tricks you discovered along the way.

Oftentimes, during this phase, you will discover that you came up with your own process or system to get through your transformation. Highlighting this process can be what sets you and your course apart from others.

Also, try to think of real-life examples of how you have helped others move through this process if you have been teaching it in person already. If you haven’t taught it to others yet, write down how you moved through the process. How did learning this new skill change your life? What was your life before and after your transformation? If you hadn’t learned this, what would life be like? What benefits do you experience now that you have this new skill in your life?

List out the materials your students will need. Make a list of any worksheets, tipsheets, or videos that you will need to create and include in your course. List out and include everything from specific lesson topics to any assignments or quizzes that you want your students to complete.

Once you have a solid outline, it’s time to start creating your course content. This can be in the form of written articles, videos, audio recordings, or even a combination of all three.

4. Fill In Your Outline and Expand on Your Topic

When sitting down to fill in the outline of a new course, I often start by thinking about the tools and practices I needed to master in order to achieve my transformation. Tools are the physical or digital items that you might use or work with to achieve a skill or goal. And practices are the systems, methods, and approaches that you pick up and learn while you are going through a change or mastering something new.

What tools did you use, and what practices did you master during your transformation? Specifically, list out HOW you used the tools and HOW you practiced. Describe what you had to master in order to achieve your goal or make your shift or change? List out what helped you along the way. Did you practice daily? Was there a specific skill you started with and then added layers? Did you have to remove or add anything to your life? What were there tools, apps, products, or materials you invested in and now recommend? And what practices come to mind that you need to break down into steps?

5. Set a Price and Market Your Course

Finally, you need to set a price for your course. This will depend on a number of factors, including the length and quality of your content, the demand for the topic you’re teaching, whether you are providing private coaching, and what other similar courses are charging related to your topic.

A course with a few simple written modules could be priced at $47 to $97. If you are providing more details along with step-by-step videos, you could price your course between $297 and $497. When you provide ongoing coaching, Zoom calls, and texting support for a month or two, you can increase the price to between $597 and $2500. If you are providing a transformation over say 6 months and you are providing a proven method for a highly sought after transformation, then you would want to increase the price even more. Some coaches are charging between $5000 and $10,000+ for online courses that provide private coaching on the side.

6. Market and Sell Your Course

Once you’ve finalized setting a price, you’re ready to start marketing and selling your online course! This can be done through social media, email marketing, or even paid advertising. The key is to get the word out there and attract students to your course.

I highly recommend setting up automated marketing for your course so you can start earning passive income from all of your hard work. This could look like setting up a funnel leading to an email signup. You can even automate your email list. This way, potential students can sign up and receive a series of emails about the topics covered in the course. You can also send coupons and offers when you run sales.

The goal with your email list and social media is to keep your courses and offers top of mind with potential and existing students. You can do this easily by providing them with value in your content that speaks to the topic of your course. Also help them see what it would be like to achieve the transformation you are offering.

Some of my favorite ways to market my new courses are to create videos for social media such as reels on Instagram, sharing the transformation my clients are having with the training, and inviting people to receive a freebie packed with value and details about the course.

Whenever I complete a new course or start to put one together, I go through a checklist of sharing details about the upcoming course to many of my social media channels. I blast details on Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, as well as my email list. You can generate a lot of excitement around a new course by teasing it to your current audience. Don’t forget to ask them questions about what they’d love to learn.

Ultimately, think of your online course as the solution to your audiences’ problems. You are helping them through a transformation. You get to be the bridge to help them get from where they are now to where they want to go. Your course gets to provide them with HOW to get to where they want to go. If you can show them you are going to provide them with high quality tools and an easy system to get there, they will be more likely to buy.

Here are the three investing apps I cover:

1. www.finance.yahoo.com – this app is great for creating watch lists and portfolios, as well as looking at the stock market in chart form. See the video for my suggestions about which markets to pay the most attention to.

Why investing tools can help you succeed as a beginner

If you plan on investing, you will need to be able to get a feel for how the market is doing and choose funds or stocks that match up to your goals.

With a tool like Yahoo Finance, you can easily pull up a chart of the S&P500 Index and get a quick idea of how the top US companies are doing. You can also use the chart to see if the market is up or down and what the overall trend is for different time periods.

This can help you see the overall market performance. By watching it consistently, you’ll become more adept at weathering movement in the market. You won’t become an emotional investor. Rather, you will stick with your plans of growing your money through long-term investing.

How these investing tools can help you grow your money faster

A tool like the Compound Interest Calculator can help you project how much your money can grow. This can help you as a beginner by giving you an idea of how much you need to put away in order to hit your financial goals.

The brokerage company’s apps make it easy to log in and check your accounts, as well as research funds they offer so you can easily buy and sell funds.

I check these apps at least a few times a week, especially my brokerage app and Yahoo Finance, so I can check the market trends and look at my current funds’ performance. I love using the Compound Interest Calculator to help me reach my money goals faster.

Does it take a lot of time to use these Investment apps?

No, it doesn’t take a lot of time to use these investment apps. In fact, it makes investing so much easier and faster. I login quickly, take a quick look at how my investments are doing, and then log out. If you are just starting out, it can take a little time to familiarize yourself with all of the functions, but if you watch the video I provided above, I cover many of the tools you can use inside of these apps.

My goal is to help you cut out all the difficulty behind investing and to find an easier way. If you become familiar with these apps, you’ll soon see how your confidence will grow with knowing how the market is performing. And you’ll be more inclined to invest because you see that the market generally goes up. This is not a guarantee, but according to an article at Investopedia, over the long term, markets like the S&P500 have an average return of just over 11% per year.

Let’s face it, no one likes to tackle clearing clutter. But if there was a reward for clearing it, would you be more likely to do it???

Maybe the reward of a clean space is not enough motivation to get you to clear clutter. But what if you could pocket a few hundred or a few thousand dollars for clearing clutter?

Now we are talking!

In this post, we are going to cover the best ways you can make money by selling clutter and how you can turn decluttering into an opportunity to save and invest.

How we ended up cleaning out a ton of clutter and making thousands in cash

When we decided to sell our house, we knew we had to do a massive purge and clear out a ton of clutter. We didn’t realize how much STUFF we had accumulated over the years!!! Much of it needed to go because we were downsizing to an RV. While we were keeping important items in storage, we didn’t want to pay to keep too much clutter. Moving and downsizing provided us with the perfect opportunity to clean out a bunch of things and also make some money by selling our extra stuff.

We started our decluttering journey by listing the bigger items we knew we didn’t mind parting with first. A friend of ours mentioned they had great success selling their items using their smartphone and a few apps (we go over which ones we used below). So we started off by listing our living room sectional couch, our dining room table set, some bookshelves, and lots of older tools and garden items. Within just 2 weeks, we had accumulated over $3500 from selling our items locally. And the best part was, nearly everyone came to us to pick up the items thru pre-arranged meeting times.

Best ways to get started making money selling clutter

We found one of the easiest ways to get started making money selling clutter was to use an app on our phone like Facebook Marketplace or 5Miles. We had the most success with Facebook Marketplace, and I think this was because of the local groups we joined within the marketplace.

All you need to do to sell items on Facebook Marketplace is to create a Facebook account (if you don’t already have one), and then click on the Marketplace tab in the Facebook menu. Once you get to the Facebook Marketplace page, look for the “Selling” or “+ Create New Listing” tabs in the menu.

Then simply add your photos and a description using simple keywords to describe your item the way someone would search. This is why using a smartphone comes in so handy. You can just snap a photo and then load it from your saved photos when you create a new listing.

How to get more buyers on Facebook Marketplace

Once you list the item on Facebook Marketplace, the app will show local groups you can join. Choose a few groups within driving distance to you, and make sure to join the groups with the most amount of followers. Each time you add an item, these groups should show up in your menu, and you can simply click to display the item to the whole group. This is how we were able to blast out a free listing to thousands of local buyers instantly!

How to communicate with buyers on Facebook

On Facebook Marketplace, buyers can message you, and they will often hit the “Is this item available” button to start a conversation. I suggest messaging them back with a quick response like, “Yes it is available, and we will be around Friday evening from 5 pm to 8 pm if you’d like to come by. Just let us know if you are interested, and we will make arrangements.” Be specific and clear about the day and time you can meet. If more people message about the same item, don’t ignore them. Quickly mention that you already have someone coming by, but if the first person doesn’t take the item, you will send a message.

Communication and fairness are key with buyers. Be willing to negotiate on price and be patient with interested buyers. Try to accommodate them if they work or need to wait until the weekend. But also decide what is best for you and your family. If you are moving and need to sell items quickly, communicate this to your potential buyer and be honest. Also, if you don’t want people to come to your home, mention a public place where you would be willing to meet. True buyers are often excited about finding the item they desire, and they won’t mind meeting you publicly.

9 Tips for selling your clutter easily

We made a lot of mistakes when we first got started selling our clutter. We made some adjustments and found some easy fixes for getting items to go more quickly. Here are some tips to help you sell your clutter easily:

1. Start by clearing items that you might have multiples of or you would like to update. For example, we had three juicers because we love juicing. Over the years, we updated to better juicers, but never get rid of our old juicers. We thought we would use the old juicers as a backup, but we never did. So we sold the older juicers on Facebook Marketplace, and the buyers were very happy to get a great deal on a juicer.
   
2. Search for comparable items for sale in the Facebook Marketplace. This gives you an idea of the competition and how much money you might be able to fetch for your item.
   
3. Group multiple, similar items and sell them together. We found it easier to group items together by theme, especially smaller items like garden tools, and sell them as a complete set. This works out as a great decluttering strategy because you get rid of a lot of clutter all at once, and the buyer gets a big score of stuff! Many buyers who came by for the grouped items seemed very excited to get lots of items at once.
   
4. List items just before the weekend and be readily available for pickups. We found we had more success with selling more items if we listed items on a Thursday or Friday. Remember many people work during normal business hours, so try to accommodate their schedule.
   
5. Have a few payment apps installed on your cell phone and know how to use them. If people don’t have cash, they are going to want to use a payment app like Paypal or Venmo. We don’t recommend giving out your Zelle info to pay you because people can hack your personal information.
   
6. If some of your items don’t sell right away, keep them listed, but edit the keywords and description. We found some items sold very quickly, and other items took more time. But we had the most success with practical items and a mention that the item “needs to go because we are moving.”
   
7. If your items don’t sell within a week, try taking better photos. Make sure to clear away clutter from the background and place the item in natural light for the best photos. You may even want to create a simple backdrop area just for taking photos if you have a lot of items to photograph and list.
   
8. When items have been listed for a few weeks, make sure to boost the listing by either relisting them with a fresh photo or adjusting the price down for a quicker sale.
   
9. Use words like “must go,” “needs a good home,” “will deliver,” and “will negotiate” to attract buyers’ attention and help them see the urgency in the sale of the items.

Be careful of scammers when you sell your items on Facebook Marketplace or any sellers app

Unfortunately, there are scammers everywhere. One scam we fell for in Facebook Marketplace was a potential buyer asking for our phone number so they could text us instead of using the Facebook Marketplace messenger.

DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PHONE NUMBER. Just respond and tell them you only text thru the marketplace messenger. If the scammer gets your phone number, they will go to Google and take possession of your Google Voice account tied to your phone number. If you do fall for this scam, you can reclaim your phone number by going to voice.google.com on your computer. Click “settings” in the gear icon. Then click “New Linked Number” under “Linked Numbers.”

• Enter your phone number.
• Click Send code to get a six-digit number sent to your mobile phone. If your landline number was stolen, click verify by phone, then call.
• Enter the code and click Verify.
• Click Claim.

Steps for making money selling clutter as a side hustle

Our friend Michelle and her husband, Rob, actually make a living selling used items. They have even created a seller university to show others how to make the most money by selling clutter and used goods. You can also make a decent side hustle out of buying items and then reselling them for a profit. Find out how this couple makes thousands per month in extra income from buying and selling old items.

If you find you enjoy making money by decluttering, I highly recommend you spend some time learning how to maximize your efforts. This way, you can spend less time and make more money while recycling items.

How can I make money selling clutter as a side hustle?

1. Offer to pick up items from your friends and family and sell their items for them. Sometimes people are just happy to have you take their old stuff away for them and will gladly give you items. Others may have nicer items they no longer need or want, and you can offer to give them a cut of the sale.
   
2. Tell your neighbors you are happy to take used items off their hands if they are trying to clean out their house or garage. You may even find that most people will just give you the items and you can sell them for profit. Often when people are moving, especially out of state, they want to get rid of items quickly and they don’t have the time to deal with listing and selling items.
   
3. Visit local Goodwill centers and look for items that might be resellable. You might be able to find items such as music instruments or gardening equipment that could use a little updating and then you can sell the items for a profit. A friend of mine is very handy and he makes extra cash fixing up old guitars and bicycles and he sells them for more than what he pays.
   
4. When you drive your neighborhood, be on the lookout for items that might be sitting around collecting dust in someone’s yard. Offer to take the items off their hands and then fix the item up and resell it. A friend of ours finds old cars and RV’s this way. He’s even been able to get the items for free many times, then invest a little time fixing the item and selling it for a profit.
   

How much money can I make selling my clutter?

We made about $3500 in the first round of selling our clutter. This included selling furniture that we no longer wanted or needed. Some people sell clutter for a living. They pick up items from neighbors or friends and family and they list the items and make a great side income. What are valuable things to sell around the house?

Some of the more valuable things to sell are things like watches, jewelry, and collectibles. We found that useful items were more likely to sell quickly. Things like garden tools, kitchen gadgets, and home appliances seemed to be the most popular. How to make the most money with your clutter

Here are our best tips for making the most money with your clutter:

1. Find local sites that have lots of eager buyers- we had the best luck with Facebook Marketplace. But things like Craigslist and Nextdoor work great as well.
   
2. Take clear photos and use important keywords to list the item. Clean the item and take a photo in good lighting. Keep other items out of the background to keep the focus on the item you are selling.
   
3. Include a description with keywords that best describes the item. Think about what keywords a buyer would type in on a search.
   
4. Look at what other comparable items are listed at- what price have others set for similar items
   
5. You don’t need to haggle with popular items. Stay firm on your price especially if you get many interested buyers. We would often list an item and then wait to see if we received responses from multiple buyers right away. If so, it was a sign that we could get the asking price for the item.

What are the best things to sell online to make money?

If you don’t want to have people come to your house to buy your items, you could also just focus your efforts on selling online. Some items sell more easily online than others. You need to think about whether an item ships easily or not. And consider how large the item is and how much it might cost to ship.

Some of the best things to sell online are collectibles, jewelry, handbags, books, games, electronics, sports equipment, musical instruments, and car parts. The one thing in common with all of these items is there is a strong desire for them. Collectors and hobbyists scour the internet to find their favorite items. So if your item is needed or highly desired, it will sell easily online.

Where are the best apps to use to sell items online?

The apps we had the most success with to sell items online included Facebook Marketplace, Amazon Trade-In Program, eBay, Offerup, and 5miles.

There are some other apps that can make selling your clutter easy. Decluttr.com is a great app for selling everything from games, toys, books, and electronics. Gazelle.com is great for selling electronics and cell phones, and they also make things very easy, as they connect buyers to sellers online. SecondSale.com is an app specifically for selling used books online.

If you have entered the coaching world, it’s probably because you wanted to help people transform their lives in a positive way. People often feel called to coach others after they have gone through a huge shift in their own lives. By going through a process of change, they’ve learned many tools to shift out of old ways of being, and then they develop the desire to help others transform in a positive way too. This is where the coaching journey often begins. And then at some point, a unique style of coaching emerges, and the coach feels compelled to create something special that helps clients reach higher levels of change.

How Connie discovered her high level coaching program

Connie started out on her own transformative process by taking Reiki classes. She discovered Reiki on her healing journey and found this alternative path to healing to be very effective. Connie decided to study Reiki with a teacher and eventually became a Reiki practitioner.

It was during her one-on-one sessions with clients that she noticed she could see if people’s chakras were open or closed. During coaching sessions, Connie determined the main pain points of her clients so she could access tools that could help them transform their old stories into new, positive ones. Connie discovered how to tap into her own intuition while she was teaching about each of the chakras. She even uncovered powerful rituals and techniques she was able to turn into teachable tools to include in her high level coaching program.

Once she recorded these tools as journal prompts, guides, and meditation videos, she was able to place them into a manual and platform that allowed her to build out a 7-month chakra mentorship program that would offer a major transformation.

How Connie uses a 4 step process to help her clients shift their story and make progress

Throughout this process, Connie was also able to access her own 4 step process that she takes each of her clients through to help them transform their story. This 4 step process became the backbone of Connie’s coaching framework. Now, each time she works with a client, she can determine where they are in their process of transformation, and she can show them the next step to take on their journey. This allows Connie to show her clients the progress they are making, and it helps them see how they can take steps to move forward. 

What clients experience in the Chakra Mentorship high level coaching program

Many of the women who joined her Chakra Mentorship program had huge revelations and shifts as they did this deeper work. As they ventured into each chakra, they had the opportunity to open up and work through deep traumas and stories around beliefs that had been created because of what they had experienced in the past. Connie offered one-on-one coaching to her clients as they explored their old stories. She also provided tailored journal prompts and homework in the form of meditations, sound healings, and rituals to help the women open up and shift their beliefs into more loving stories that helped them step into their power.

What Connie learned during her coaching sessions with me

Connie and I met weekly and this allowed her to receive feedback about her offer as well as her coaching techniques. She was also able to ask questions about issues that came up around things like boundaries with clients, how to price her offer, what to post on her social media accounts, and how to update her website when she was ready to launch her offer. During our sessions, we talked about the person she was becoming through the whole process, and we were able to work through her own growth and mindset as she learned to trust herself as a coach. 

Connie had many breakthroughs around things like charging the “right” prices for her programs, as well as trusting that her gifts were enough when it came to showing up for her clients. 

I had the opportunity to interview Connie about her experience with growing her coaching business and creating her chakra mentorship high level coaching program, and here’s what she shared:

What were the biggest takeaways from your experience with following your nudging to create the chakra mentorship program?

By doing the mentorship, I not only realized I’m capable, I realized who I am. I realized I’m here to guide others and to do that, I had to step into my own power. By doing this, I help my clients step into their power too. It was important for me to learn to honor who I am and how I receive my guidance along my journey.

What did you learn along the way as you started coaching others?

I learned a couple of things… one is that I’m capable even if I’m not certified. Also, I discovered how everyone is connected. Every time one of my clients shared their story, I discovered I am not separate, none of us are. Someone who comes to you also shows you the healing you have in you. We walk together for a reason. We are all really connected. People come and go. When a client comes into your life, it’s not just for them… it has a ripple effect… it affects you as the healer as well as the people around them. As you change, you are inspiring others.

What would you say was your biggest personal shift?

My confidence, my belief in me. Something shifted completely. I discovered I’m meant to be doing this. I learned to totally trust myself. For my story, it’s always been about trust, that I’m on the right journey, creating what I’m supposed to create.

What would you say was your biggest professional shift?

I got out of my comfort zone, tried new things, and totally got out of my box of beliefs that you need to be certified to coach, that you need to prove that you are capable in order to show up and do the work. I just dove into a pool without even knowing if the water was there! And the universe showed me that yes, there is water there, and I can swim! I am capable! The people who came into this mentorship were the right people. The comments they made reassured me that I am a professional.

What challenged you the most during our coaching?

You helped me to make that shift happen, to see myself as a professional, to see myself as a coach. That was a real challenge for me, that I don’t need to be certified. You always pushed me even when I said nooo. You encouraged me to keep going. Your support was a big deal. I would get beliefs and thoughts and things in my head, and then you helped me release those things so I could move forward and express and show up. You made it possible so I could write about my vision, when I didn’t know how I was going to get there.

What helped you the most? 

To have support and guidance. In anything we do in life, whether it be in business, healing, or anything in life, it’s important to have support and guidance. You need that when you have breakdowns or challenges come up. I learned to do that for my clients for the mentorship. We do our own work, yes, but to have someone there when we fall, that’s what truly helps us.

I’d love to hear you talk about how you overcame your fears to step into high level coaching… about charging more for your chakra program… about coaching on a deep level (the women came to you with BIG challenges and tough stories). Tell me about what you did to overcome fears with helping them, about showing up for sessions, about knowing what to say to the women in your sessions…

You really helped me to charge what I needed to charge. I was only going to charge $500 for the entire 7 month program. But you helped me see I’m worth being paid for what I do and for my deeper work. That was a big challenge for me, but you helped me overcome that.

And with showing up for sessions, I know the fears are there, but I’m committed to going all the way in with my clients. Fears controlled so much of my life, and I decided that the fears are not going to take me down. I see them, but I know I am the main driver in my life. It’s so easy to blame others or the universe, or your family, instead of having the courage to take responsibility for our own lives. This is why I go so deep with my clients, to help them see that the fear is there, but it’s up to them to make the changes. I just guide them through that.

A true warrior is not someone who carries their pain with them and fights against it, it’s someone who learns how to shift their story, shift the pain, transform it and transmute it. It’s like being at the bottom of an ocean and not knowing which way to go. You may feel like it is overwhelming and hard, but you can choose to swim towards the light. You can choose to shift your life and make things better.

Connie’s plans for growing her coaching business

Now that Connie has put in the hard work this past year to develop her chakra mentorship program, she has plans to create more programs that will help her clients do deeper healing work. She is excited to be re-opening the chakra mentorship program at the start of 2023 and coach new and returning clients who want to shift their stories and shift their lives. Now that her mentorship program has gone through its pilot year, Connie hopes to continue expanding her work by writing more and finalizing a book about healing tools and rituals.

What to do if you have an offer or program nagging at you to create…

If you have an offer on your heart that has been “nagging” at you, it’s time to get it mapped out and get it out to your clients. If you take the time to dive deep, discover your gifts through your own coaching experience, and listen for how you can truly serve your clients, a high level, transformational program will come through you to share.

It’s important to get the support you need during your creation process because it’s often hard to see the exact framework you are using with your clients. It can be challenging to see past your own blocks and fears, or even find the right words to communicate your messaging in a way that activates your audience. This is where having a coach or guide can help you have true success with creating a high level coaching program.

Know that you already have within you the whole blueprint for your success with your coaching business. Trust your naggings to create a transformational experience and be patient with yourself as you unlock your process and unleash your gifts. It will take time and hard work to create your program, but it will be so worth it. It helps your clients see you as a professional, and it reaches your people in a deeper way that will have a true impact.

There might be areas of your business that are needing attention, and because you are “doing it all,” you might be holding your business back from expanding in incredible ways.

If you are trying to “do it all,” that could mean that you are in your ego with your business. For example, you might be trying to get more one-on-one clients because more clients means more money, right? Uh, nope! It actually means you are ready to expand in new ways, but because you don’t know what you don’t know, you keep doing things the way you THINK you should be doing them.

The reality is, showing up by pushing or forcing more in your business is only going to lead to extreme burnout. And THIS is not the vibe for a million-dollar-a-year company!

I’ve been there and done that! I started my first business thinking I could do it all. It was hard to let anyone else work for me because I had a belief that no one else could do what I did. I wasn’t even willing to try and let other people come work for me. And so at some point, when I was peaking and overflowing with clients, that’s when I had a breakdown moment. I was exhausted and burned out. And it was only after opening up to another business-minded friend that I realized I was actually holding my own company back from growing. By thinking I was the secret sauce to my business, I was missing out on the true potential of what my business could achieve.

Here are some signs that you might be plateauing or burning out in your business

-Your business is not expanding quickly- your income, your reach, your offers, your assets, your team, none of it is growing!

How to shift your mindset so you can have million dollar years in your business

The truth is, holding on tightly to how you are operating your business, and trying to control the way you are doing things will keep you held back. This closed-off mindset doesn’t allow for growth to happen. What can help is a shift in perspective.

So how do you shift?

You call in what you need in order to expand to the next level. Ask yourself what your business needs in order to expand. Focus on what feels like the next BIG step, what I call your “nagging.” Placing your focus on what feels like the next exciting intuitive move, will help you unlock what needs to change. As you allow yourself to listen to what is needed and what feels like the right next thing, you will receive ideas about what next steps to take.

How to take the necessary next steps

After you tune in and hear what it is you need in order to grow your business, follow through by asking for help from qualified people and allow expansive opportunities to come your way. This could mean you get coached on how to create a higher level offer so you don’t have to take on as many one-on-one clients. Perhaps you develop a program or group offer that your clients need and you free up some of your time by offering expert guests to teach in the areas of your business where you are lacking. The important thing to note here is that expansion comes when you are more willing to be helped as well as see that there are MANY possibilities for growth.

When you see there are many ways your business can have success, you allow those many ways to appear. If you have a tight grip or control over how things can unfold, then you might not be seeing all the available possibilities.

Growing your business is not always about charging more

While you should be looking at your numbers monthly and assessing whether your prices reflect the true value of your offers, growing your business is not always about charging more. Increasing your prices is appropriate when you are offering a higher level of service or expertise, delivering a product in a highly desirable or sought-after way, or the cost of your expenses or materials has gone up. But if you are only looking at raising prices as a way to grow your business, you are missing out on a ton of other ways you could be expanding.

Ask yourself in what areas you might be holding on tightly, forcing, or pushing, and then see how letting go of control might open things up for you!

My goal these days is to make more money per hour so I can really live my life.

We recently moved to Arizona and there are many jobs available here. The only downfall… they all pay $15 an hour.

The workers who are making that much are having to rent with others to afford a place to live. The reality is, $15 an hour isn’t going to make for a comfortable lifestyle. It barely makes the rent!

The real trade-off is in your time.

When you are working $15 an hour, you feel trapped in the thought you need to work so many hours per week just to get by. The result? You end up working 50–70 hours a week just to live! What’s the fun in that?

I say, trade up!

Start with what feels off

I made the change years ago when I was working for a boss for $8 an hour and felt miserable.

That was my first and last JOB…

I decided my time was too precious AND I was worth so much more. Instead of staying in that job, I started asking myself, “WHAT DO I WANT?” Every time I allowed myself to vision the lifestyle I desired, it didn’t include working for someone else.

So I took the leap, and I started a side hustle business decorating people’s parties with balloons.

One thing led to another, and at some point (within just 2 years), I was making more than I could make with a college degree. Within just a few years, I was hitting multiple 6 figure months.

And this was with NO special training.

I had NO business background.

I was even terrified of balloons popping in my face when I first started.

But I believed in my business and in myself.

I became clear on the lifestyle I wanted, and I didn’t look back.

Now, this belief in myself as a business owner is solidified, and it’s the reason why I’m always encouraging others to create a business and trade up.

How to start shifting your beliefs

Start with looking at what isn’t working- it’s easy to keep doing what you are doing for money because you have to pay bills, etc., but if you never take a real hard look at what is causing your suffering, you won’t ever see a reason to make a change. Perhaps your misery is there to help you make a leap. Mindfulness or awareness training can help you observe patterns and cycles that might be keeping you stuck. Speaking to someone you trust about what you’ve been thinking can also help you get perspective on what might need to change.

Don’t stay stuck in looking at what isn’t working… shift into desires- If you keep looking at what isn’t working and complain, judge yourself, try to problem-solve from your current situation, you will NOT get what you truly desire. To make a real shift, you have to be willing to ask yourself what you want and then lead yourself into making a change. It wouldn’t make sense to stay at a job and try to convince your boss to give you a $2 an hour raise when what you truly desire is to go from making $8 to $100 an hour. To make a faster shift, you need to focus on what you need to do to get what you truly want. Taking action from your desires often breaks you free from the trap you have comfortably settled into.

Get support in the beginning- the hardest step is always the first one. Surrounding yourself with people who inspire you, encourage you, and mentor you can help you break out of old patterns and cycles. Fears about not being good enough can creep up and stop you from taking the necessary steps to get started, so it’s important to have people you look up to in your corner. I was able to make a faster shift because I had a mentor who had already been in the party business. She was the one who encouraged me to make the leap and start. And she served as a sounding board when I hit roadblocks along the way.

Keep going- I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to give up in the beginning stages of my business. Checking in with yourself to discover if something needs to shift or change is often all that’s needed to break you free from old beliefs and help you enter a new reality. Most people give up way too soon because they don’t see immediate results when they make changes. The key to success is to KEEP GOING. Even if you have a setback, keep going. Even if personal stuff comes up in life and you need to take a break… take a break, and then keep going. Even if you have to scratch all your original ideas and start over, keep going. The difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is successful people keep going.

Decide you are worth more

While you may feel trapped in a particular situation right now, know that there’s always a way to shift. Taking a look at your current beliefs can reveal how much you are keeping yourself from having all you desire. It can be eye-opening and jaw-dropping when you realize just how much your current beliefs are keeping you stuck where you are.

Just deciding that you are done with this old way of being can be the turning point.

Normalize being okay with letting go of the old you, and you will see positive change quickly. Allowing yourself to evolve in this way helps you to step into a more powerful version of yourself that knows you are worth more. This version of you is less likely to settle for smaller amounts of pay. Trust that when you feel frustrated over not being paid enough, it’s only a sign that the better version of you is waiting for you to take a scary but necessary step.

I’ve turned my morning stretching habit into a time of reflection about how I can best serve my specific audience. This allows me some time to be intentional with my thoughts and think about the people I’m serving.

During this time, I reflect on…

What would help my audience do better? Make more money? Uplevel in some way? What do I know that can get them “there” faster? “There” being the other side of the bridge they are trying to cross to get to what they truly want.

Usually, an idea flows in while I’m stretching. I let it “bake” in my mind for a few minutes, playing with some titles to see if I can nail down a topic that feels like something they would really want to know more about.

Once I’ve locked onto the main title or idea, I grab my phone, go to the notes app, and I dedicate some time to writing down main points about why this topic matters to them… them being my audience.

Writing down WHY it matters is the key to helping your audience see the reason for taking steps and how it can change their life.

Making this connection between what you are sharing and how it matters to them is so important. Without that, it falls flat. They won’t feel any importance in what you are expressing or how it helps them. Think of someone who is stuck on the other side of the bridge as you are explaining how to cross it.

As I’m stretching and making notes, I let main ideas flow by listing them as bullet points. Once I’ve locked onto something that feels good, then I just write without worrying about editing. I continue writing and sharing what comes up in my mind. I let words and concepts spill out without interruption. It’s important not to stop this flow by trying to be perfect right now. This part of the process is about focusing on recording key elements and being okay with being messy.

Generally, this part of the process starts putting me INTO my writing, and suddenly I’m in what I call a kind of writing trance where I’m allowing ideas to flow thru me as I type them out.

After I’ve completed writing my thoughts for a good half hour, I go back and fill in any blanks in the writing. At this point, I’m waiting to see if any new ideas pop in, and I also allow for more details to be added.

I’m always keeping my mind on what my audience needs to get from this article to help them see it’s possible to get to the other side of the “bridge.”

I finish up by asking myself, “Is there anything I’ve left out that they need to know?” If so, I add it in. This sometimes leads to new ideas for future articles and posts, and I will add those as a separate note in my phone so I can expand on those ideas another day.

We all need a little quiet when we are trying to focus and create.

When a new idea comes to me, it never fails that my sexy husband starts chatting it up with me about something he finds intriguing like the latest Formula One race or his newest off-grid van project he is excited about.

Of course, there’s also the buzz of my phone as he shares a cute dog video because he knows those cheer me up every time. “Yes sweetie, the doggie-jumping-the-fence meme is hilarious…”

It’s hard to stay focused on writing with so many distractions, but I’ve found the secret

All joking aside, it can be hard to stay focused on your writing in this day-in-age with all the distractions and normal, everyday-life things to do.

On top of that, I share a small space with my hubby. We now live and work from our RV. So, I’ve found a little secret that I wanted to share in this post that might help others, especially if they have children, a spouse, a pet, or dishes beckoning them to be washed…

The bathroom can be your writing sanctuary.

It’s true…

You can lock yourself in there, set your smartphone to silent mode, and write away!

I use the notes app on my phone to write down everything from lists of titles to topic ideas to full-blown posts. Once I land on something that feels right as an idea, I let the juices flow (no pun intended), and I write without worrying about editing. I don’t stop until I have a rough outline or rough draft. Once I get all my ideas out, I email myself the note, and later when I sit down with my laptop, I copy and paste the typed rough draft into my blog.

Thank goodness we have smartphones now… They make it so we can literally write ANYWHERE, including the bathroom

Could you imagine sitting on the toilet with a typewriter on your lap…

You can easily type on your phone while you are doing tasks like putting on makeup, brushing teeth, using the restroom, and dare I say, showering.

If you need to write hands-free, use the voice recorder on your smartphone, or find the little microphone in the bottom right of your notes app so you can voice record yourself talking out your posts. Email yourself the note later and edit the draft in your desired platform.

Three reasons why I lock myself in the bathroom to write

So without further a-do (that also was not an intended pun, but now I just feel like my writing abilities just went up a level, or should I say down a level)…Here are my top three reasons why I lock myself in the bathroom to write:

One… my attention span is that of a hummingbird. Thanks to the Tik-tok algorithm, I am now being shown ADHD med ads daily. Apparently, I’ve been diagnosed by Tik Tok as having low focus and attention deficit disorder. I am not a fan of taking meds for random issues especially when they are being diagnosed by social media. I choose more “natural” methods for working thru my issues. The bathroom was the most “natural” solution I could come up with… I’ve literally just written this whole article while in the bathroom.

Two… my husband loves me and genuinely wants to share every moment of life together. I love him very much, and it’s hard for me to NOT pay attention to him. I get distracted way too easily while sitting at the table in our rig, and the bathroom allows me to have an enclosed space that also feels distraction-free, but also time-limit oriented. I don’t want to spend my ENTIRE day locked in the bathroom writing. Being in there allows me to have time to focus while also having a time limit.

Three… sometimes I get amazing ideas on the toilet, and it’s an easy place to write and be productive. It’s true… I mean look, you can sit there and look at Tik-Tok and Instagram all day, or you can be productive and write and make some money while blogging.

In all seriousness, there should be nothing stopping you from finding your own little writing sanctuary where you can connect to your creative flow and write. Experiment with random places until you find what works for you. Nothing is off-limits, closets, garden sheds, your car, your local coffee shop, even your bathroom. Whatever works!

Make extra income with a transcription side hustle business

If you’re looking for a way to make some extra money from home, transcription might be the perfect side hustle for you. Transcription is the process of turning audio or video recordings into written text. Transcriptionists, or transcriptionists, listen to recordings and type out what they hear.

One of the ways I made extra income while in college was by starting my own transcription side hustle business. 

I was an English major, and I was looking for opportunities to make money with writing. I learned about a transcribing job through my college career center and thought it would be a great way to make some side income while also expanding my writing and typing skills.

The transcription job included helping a disabled woman transcribe her voice recordings into typed articles. Then with her direction, I put together media packets to send off to magazines and publishers so her articles could be reviewed for publication. 

This was how my transcription side hustle business was started. It was the perfect side hustle because I was still able to go to college, and have time to study and do my homework while working a few hours a day doing transcribing. It allowed me to make double what the minimum wage was per hour which was a pretty big deal back then for someone just starting out in college.

I loved my transcription side hustle because it gave me flexibility, and it also helped me develop new writing and article submission skills that I still use today!

As I improved, I was able to charge more and take on more clients. At some point, I was able to pick and choose the clients I worked with, and I was also able to increase my transcribing rates. 

A side benefit to the work I was doing was I learned how to submit articles to major publications. Many people have fear when trying to get hired by bigger publications because they are scared of rejection. But having my transcription business taught me that hearing no is just part of the process.

With transcribing, you don’t really need to have a college degree in English. If you can type words, then you can transcribe. You do need a general knowledge of grammar as well as the ability to listen and type words fairly quickly. But even if you cannot type fast now, this is a skill that can be developed with practice.

Depending on the type of transcription work you will be doing, there are some things you will need for a transcription side hustle business…

A laptop or computer

Possibly a recording device

Internet connection

A foot pedal (to help regulate speed, here’s the one we recommend)

How to get hired to do transcription?

One of the easiest ways to get hired as a transcriber is to go to websites that support transcribers, such as Rev.com. Sites like these have job boards where you can look for work. Check out our list below to see what these various companies require and how much they pay.

You can also create your own freelancer account on a site like Fiverr or Upwork and post your transcribing services along with other things you offer.

It would be a good idea to add your services to LinkedIn and also share your services to FaceBook groups as well as local listing sites like Craigslist and Nextdoor.

I would also suggest setting up your own simple website where you feature your services and provide testimonials of your work If you want to make more income with transcription. Where can I find transcription jobs?

There are many bloggers and online business owners who do podcasting, live videos, and speeches who want their audios and videos transcribed into posts. You can reach out to these business owners by email, introduce yourself, and inquire if they need transcriptions of their recordings.

We also recommend job boards for transcribers, such as Rev, TranscribeMe, and SyncScript. With time, you will develop your transcribing skills, and you’ll get a better understanding of what types of jobs fit your lifestyle best.

If you’re looking to find transcription jobs easily, I’ve put together a more detailed list of companies below where you can submit your information and get hired for work pretty easily.  

Some of these companies are happy to hire beginner transcriptionists, and others are looking for more experienced transcribers, so I recommend starting with the first few companies on the list to start. Then as you gain more knowledge, reach out to the higher-earning jobs. Bookmark this article so you can come back to it as you gain experience, and refer to it for other transcribing jobs.

Most of these companies pay for transcribing services based on a per audio minute rate. In the transcribing industry, most companies have a standard 4:1 ratio, meaning they believe it takes around four minutes to transcribe one minute of audio. This may or may not be the case for you, so this is something to take into account with these job boards.

Here are a few of the more popular online transcription job boards:

1. TranscribeMe– this is a pretty straightforward transcription job board. They pay between $15-$22 per audio hour. You simply login and start transcribing short audio clips of two to four minutes. You can start and stop any time you want.
   
2. Rev– you don’t need any experience to get started on Rev. They do require you to pass a grammar quiz and also submit a transcription sample. They always have work available.
   
3. SyncScript– they hire new transcribers, and the pay starts around .57 cents to .64 cents per audio minute. They require a typing speed of 70 words per minute with a 98 percent degree of accuracy.
   
4. FocusForward– you will need to take a test to qualify and they pay .40 cents per audio minute for transcription services. They also have higher-paying jobs the longer you work for them.
   
5. DailyTranscription– they require a skills assessment and transcription test. You will need to be able to type 50 words per minute. Their pay is higher than some of the other transcription job sites, paying between .75 cents and .85 cents per audio minute.
   
6. Quicktate– this transcribing service requires some experience, but they also have foreign language transcribing opportunities. Their jobs vary, so you might see everything from transcribing voicemails that last just a few minutes to meetings that last several hours.
   
7. SpeakWrite– requires one year of experience in an office environment. You must be a legal resident of the US or Canada (California residents are not accepted at this time). And you need to be able to type at 60 words per minute to apply.
   
8. Castingwords– offers transcription jobs for English, French, and Spanish languages. They have a 24-hour turn-around promise, so they like you to be a fast and reliable transcriber. They like to hire people as independent freelance transcribers, and you must be over 18 years of age.
   
9. GMRTranscription– they want experienced transcriptionists who want to grow in their skills. They require you to take a test, and they want you to have over the ears headphones and a foot pedal. On average, their transcriptionists make between $1000 and $3000 a month.
   
10. eScribers– they desire legal transcribers who are eligible to work in the US. They pay out weekly, but the amount is not disclosed.
    
11. TranscriptDivas– this is a highly sought-after transcriber job board because they pay higher rates, around $1.15 per audio minute. Many potential candidates apply, so you will need to find a way to stand out.
    
12. TranscriptionOutsourcingLLC– they are looking for US based transcriptionists. They have a blog dedicated to educating you about transcription which is very helpful for newbies. They accept new transcribers, and the pay rate goes up with more experience. On average, they pay between .81 cents and $1.10 per audio minute.
    
13. Pioneer-Transcription-Services– they are always looking for new transcriptionists. You will need to fill out an application form and include references. Then you will need to take a transcription test. If you are accepted, they keep you on their list, and you can login to find jobs.
    
14. GoTranscript– you can choose the work you want and they pay up to .60 cents per audio minute. They rate you based on your work.
    
15. WayWithWords– they appreciate transcribers who can understand difficult accents. You don’t need any experience to start, and they do offer training. Pay is between .43 cents and $1.73 per audio minute.

Do I need special training to be a transcriber?

You do not necessarily need training to start a transcription business, but there are simple courses like this one that can help you get started faster. There weren’t courses like this one back when I got started transcribing and so I had to learn everything the hard way, through experience.

How much money can I make with a transcription side hustle business?

Payscale.com reports that the average transcriptionist makes $15-20 per hour. And with no special equipment needed to get started, transcription is a great option for those looking to start a side hustle with little initial investment. At 4 hours a day for 5 days a week, you can easily make around $1500 a month in extra income by doing transcribing.

Once you have established yourself with a few clients, and you gain an understanding of how to reach out to potential new clients, you will be able to make more per hour for your transcription work.

You can also make more as a transcriptionist if you do specialized transcription, such as legal transcription. One woman I know who does legal transcription works just 20 hours a week and she brings in about $2000 a month consistently. She has three kids and she is able to work from home as a transcriber. Once you have the steps filled out, go into each section and add text, videos, worksheets, or quizzes.

Remember, you can outline the course now, and then “drip” out content weekly, meaning you push out new content each week as you create it. This way, you can take your time to record videos, write out text and steps, and develop worksheets in WORD or Canva.

If the thought of turning out content weekly stresses you out, make it bi-weekly sessions. Ask yourself what feels right to you and make creating this course easy and doable for YOU. You’re going to have more fun and a better chance of being a successful digital creator if you listen to your own guidance and create in a FUN WAY that is ALIGNED to YOU! Your potential students will be attracted to a course that shows you have a passion for what you teach.

3. Use your smartphone or Zoom to record videos. Then load them into the platform.

You don’t need fancy equipment or high-tech abilities to create your course. I have one course that includes all audio meditations, and it was all recorded on my smartphone. I simply loaded the recordings to my computer and transferred them into the platform.

Another course I have available online is all written text and journal worksheets. And yet another course is a combination of videos I recorded using Zoom along with entered written text. You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on fancy microphones and video cameras in order to sell courses online.

You just need to provide LOTS OF VALUE. Think of breaking the steps down into simple actions and help your student develop their skills and learn to use tools along the way.

4. Create a simple Sales Page on the course platform and start sharing the link!

There are so many ways to get the word out about your new online course, but one of the fastest and easiest ways is using your current social media platforms. The people you already know might want to support you or learn from you. Don’t be afraid to share what you have created. This is where I see so many people give up, and I don’t want that to be you. Share what you have worked on, and let people know to share it forward.

You can use the platform to create a sales page. Then have a goal to create an automated way (funnels, ads, blog posts) to get traffic to your sales page. You can start a blog and write about the topic and share your course there. We do this with many of our online courses, and people who enjoy reading our blog often buy our courses to dive deeper and learn more.

You can also use free platforms like Pinterest to create pins that link directly to your sales page. You can create many pins with many different angles all related to your course topic and point all those pins to your one sales page. Pinterest is free to use, and we have great success with getting free traffic to our web pages and sales pages using Pinterest. Here’s an example of a Pinterest Pin leading to this article:

Finally, you can use paid advertising such as Facebook or Instagram ads or buy ads on Google to drive traffic to your sales page on the course platform. We’ve done all of these and had great success. You can pay as little as $5 a day to boost a post on Facebook to drive traffic to your sales page.

Some people say that they just “know” things. This is often a result of all those neurochemicals getting fired in the brain and gut at the same time giving you an instant answer. Others say that their intuition comes to them in dreams or as a physical sensation in their body.

You can also access your intuition through a process of quieting the mind and letting go of logical thinking. This can be done through practices such as meditation, prayer, or simply taking a few deep breaths and focusing on the present moment.

When you quiet the mind, you allow yourself to access the wisdom of the body and the intuition that resides within you.

How to trust your intuition

The first step to trusting your intuition is to become aware of it. Once you start paying attention to those “gut feelings” or quiet inner voices, you can begin to trust them more.

It’s also important to remember that your intuition is not always right. However, if you’ve been paying attention to your intuition and trusting it, more often than not, you’ll find that it’s a powerful tool that can help you make better decisions.

How to use your intuition in business settings

There are many ways to use your intuition in business.

One way is to use it to make decisions about the future of your company. If you’re feeling uncertain about a particular decision, take some time to quiet your mind and listen to your intuition.

You can also use your intuition when networking or meeting new people. If you get a good feeling about someone, trust it and see where the relationship goes.

You can also use your intuition to help you identify opportunities. If you have a gut feeling about something, follow up on it and see if it’s worth pursuing.

How to make decisions with your intuition

If you’re trying to make a difficult decision, there are a few things you can do to help you trust your intuition.

First, gather all of the facts and information about the situation. Once you have all of the information, you can start to quiet your mind through something like meditation or a walk in nature and listen for that inner voice.

Another helpful tip is to write down your options and then sleep on it. Often, the answer will come to you in a dream or during meditation.

You can also allow yourself to get creative to access your subconscious mind and intuition. Drawing, painting, writing, and journaling are great ways to access your inner guidance.

Case study of a business owner who has benefited from trusting their intuition

One of my favorite things to do with business owners is to help them access their intuition so they can make big business decisions and learn to trust themselves.

Many times, the ONLY thing holding people back from starting a business or growing a business is they are listening to all the outer “noise” telling them it’s too hard or impossible.

A perfect example of how quickly you can grow a business fast by using your intuition is my 19-year-old client, Christian. When he came to me, he was straight out of high school, and he was getting an intuitive “hit” to buy a trailer and start a demolition cleanup company. Christian was struggling because everyone around him was telling him to find a local job and get his start in life by working for someone else.

Christian, on the other hand, was feeling led to start his own business and invest in assets and equipment. He came to me because he was battling a few fears of his own as well as a lot of opinions from friends and family that he was making a bad decision and taking too great of a risk.

Once we got Christian clear on what his intuition was telling him and that it was OKAY to take some aligned steps, he was able to make the decision to invest in a trailer.

Just days after that decision, the local area was hit with extremely high winds, and as a result, trees fell over and were uprooted all over town. Homeowners and business owners were reaching out on local neighborhood apps to find landscaping crews to come clean up the mess.

Christian jumped on the opportunity and put the word out about his new cleanup demo business using a few easy marketing methods. Within days, he was booking jobs for $2000 to $6000 each!

These intuitions and “nudgings,” as I like to call them, come to us all the time, but we need to learn how to “hear” them, trust them, and act on them quickly to truly benefit from them. Otherwise, if we wait or ignore them, we miss them, and they just pass us by.

Actually, the crux of the work I do with business owners is to help them learn to trust themselves and their intuition so they can take HUGE leaps in their business. This often involves coaching and encouraging them to make business decisions that feel scary, but “right” to them. These business owners will claim to have a deep knowing, desire, or feeling that this next step is necessary to catapult them into their next level, but they have never learned to trust these feelings and knowings.

Learning to trust intuition is a process because there’s a logical part of us that wants to take over. It’s often this logical part that holds us back. The logical part can also be hypercritical, judgmental, analytical, and perfectionistic, creating a situation where you hold yourself back until things seem “just right.” This can create a delay in taking the necessary actions that might be needed to help you improve upon on tweak a situation that might not have been revealed without messy action-taking.

Again, trusting nudgings can be difficult in a society that judges these intuitions as “crazy” or insignificant, but many times, the “craziest” ideas come to us outside of logic and reason.

I’ve seen business owners learn to trust their intuition and immediately see a shift in outcomes with their business. Many of them who have been stuck at certain income levels for months or years discover that when they start trusting their intuition more and taking aligned steps, they suddenly sign more clients, or even better, they find ways to sign fewer higher level, higher ticket clients.

Here are 10 tips for trusting your intuition in business

1. Listen to your body

Your body is always giving you information, and it’s essential to learn how to listen to it. If you’re getting a physical reaction to something, there’s usually a message behind it. For example, if you’re considering working with a certain client but you get a knot in your stomach when you think about it, that’s usually a sign to stay away. Start to understand your own Yes’s and No’s and what they feel like in your body.

2. Follow your heart

Your heart knows what’s best for you, even if your mind doesn’t yet understand it. If you’re feeling called or nagged to do something, even if it seems scary, follow that call. It’s often where your greatest growth and expansion lie.

3. Trust your gut when making decisions

Your gut instinct is usually right, so if you’re feeling uneasy about something, trust that feeling and act accordingly. Learning to trust yourself is the key to success in business. The more you trust yourself, the easier it gets to let go of what isn’t working and say yes to what is working.

4. Get clear on your values and what you want.

Your values are the things that are most important to you. Knowing them can help you be more in touch with what you like and don’t like. 5. Take time to meditate or do some form of relaxation regularly.

Meditation is a great way to help you direct your focus inwards and take a break from all the distractions and outside “noise.” When you are able to get fully relaxed, often your intuition will kick in and reveal answers to you naturally.
