What a way to begin the New Year then a family photo shoot with Sabrina, Delaney and their cute little puppy! Dixie, was a surprise given to Delaney on Christmas Eve and is quite the sweet little thing! The love between this mother/daughter duo was so evident. Delaney is adored by her mom and has made her mom so proud. Sabrina has been trying to schedule their photoshoot for a few years and she has told me over and over, "Delaney is so photogenic." Sabrina wasn't lying! Not only is she beautiful but she is smart and caring; she even invited me and my boys out to lunch afterwards! Thanks for the fun, the adventure, and the pizza lunch date! I hope my boys find someone as great as you Delaney in a 11 years or so!

{Katie and Jordan} Bridal Pictures Hope, Idaho

In a small town named Hope(population 80-ish), 2 young adults fell in love over kyaking, Skype, and a little guy named Matthew! Katie found her Prince Charming, and Jordan fell for adorable and sophisticated Katie over a Christmas break and planned to marry 6 months later. Their destination wedding took me to one of the most beautiful towns where there are lush green feilds galore, a boat marina straight out of a Nicholas Sparks novel, and a lake that is crisp and breath taking. I was in heaven; in the midst of these two that couldn't keep their hands off each other, as they embarked in their new life together!

For example, her youngest daughter wanted more out of softball then what Boise had to offer, so, Brenda drives Ashlyn to Washington each weekend. This guy is beyond impressive. Not only does he play Varsity Football and Soccer, he is also one of the sweetest teenagers I have ever met. He is also a mama's boy which is tender to my heart. Being a mom of two young boys, I truly hope my boys look up to me the way Eli looks up to his mother (who, by the way, joined us for these pictures.). We braved the streets of Nampa, saw many adults dressed up in furry costumes (and I wont go into details about them because rumor has it, they do naughty things in those nasty costumes), and listened to the sweet sounds of Cinco de Mayo music. May the joys of college life treat you right Eli!

Did I mention Eli is a "working model" at Hollister? I am sure many hoodies are sold in Boise due to Eli's charm!

I feel the need to re-introduce myself! Welcome back to my blog, it feels so great to be home! I have been in hibernation over the last 9 months or so, and that is NOT because of what you might be thinking. I have been given the wonderful opportunity and great responsibility to work with the Young Women in my church as their president. (if you don't know what Young Women's is or what it is all about, feel free to click on the link. I am so honored and truly blessed to have the privledge to work with these young women!) Thanks to all who have remained strong supporters of Be Photography of Idaho; I couldn't do what I love without your smiling faces and beautiful families! Here is Bryar! Bryar comes from the hottest mom, sweetest dad, and smiliest big brother. This was the 4th time I have taken their picture. I would easily take their picture weekly if I could, you can't get any more fun or sweeter then a night at the lake! Just to warn you, picture OVERLOAD! And, did I mention his hot mama? Yeah, she is in some too! Seriously, once you take a glance at her, you will wonder to yourself, "How could she have birthed 2 children?" Seriously. The moment I got out of the car and saw her svelt self I sucked in my gut and continued to do so the entire shoot! They couldn't take their eyes off Emmalynn, and had a bit of a difficult time handing her over for her photo shoot. She is worshipped and loved by her parents, like it should be!

Have you ever heard of Irish Twins? Well, these two are the cutest Irish twins I have ever met. They love their mommy and think their daddy is the greatest thing next to Capri Suns!

I saw these two cute little guys playing at the park a few weeks after our shoot and they were as shy as ever! I love it when little ones spend an hour or two playing with me, teasing me with their coy smiles and running away from me during their shoot, and then when our paths cross at another point in time, they act so shy. You can see the wheels in their brain turning, trying to place where they know me from. The best is when they ask "where is your camera?" As if it was my right arm, you know, something attached and permanently part of me!!!

Tracy, you are one amazing mother! The love you have for these two little men is undeniable.

This is one of the greatest families I know! When we first moved into our home, I had heard TJ, the father of this family, talk about growing up in Bend. From that moment on, I knew we would be quick friends!!!! Annabelle is one of the greatest inspirations in my life. She has housed nieces and nephews in her home for over a year (making their household number increase from 6 to 10 people!) and took care of her father-in-law in the last years of his life. While her life was the busiest it could be, she kept up on volunteering in her children's school classes, doing MY hair (she does hair AND she does an amazing job at covering up my WHITE hair! Yes, I have been going WHITE since I was 26 years old), and cheering her children on in all of their extra activities! Tabitha, Sterling, Preston are some of my boys idols!

Shortly after these pictures were taken, their oldest son, Zach left for a 2 year mission to Romania. I don't know how Annabelle has held her composure, but she has handled his departure with such ease! Zach will be such a blessing to those living in Romania.

In high school, one of my fondest memories is driving to school with one of my best friends sitting next to me singing at the top of our lungs the song: "Ironic" from Alanis Morissette. One of the lines of the chorus states "It's like Rain, on your wedding day...." and Chelsea Ann and I always commented on that line. "Wouldn't that be horrible" I remember asking Chelsea, and sure enough, 4 years later, in Portland Oregon, it rained on Chelsea Ann's wedding day. She wasn't bothered, it didn't phase her one bit, if it had been me with rain on my wedding day, I would have freaked out (obviously, someone up above knew me all too well and blessed me with one of the hottest days of the year on my May wedding day 11 short years ago.).

Well, just as Alanis Morissette's song rang true for Chelsea Ann 9 years ago, it rang true to me and my sweet cousin on HER wedding day. Portland Oregon was beautiful but very dreary on her wedding day on May 27th, but just like my best friend Chelsea Ann, it didn't seem to drag my cousin Crystal down one bit. She was beautiful, radiant, and breathtaking, just like a bride should be on her wedding day.

11 short years ago Crystal was one of my "jr. bride's maids" at my wedding, and on her special day, I witnessed her new chapter as a married woman, and joyfully, I watched her day unfold behind my camera!

And, for all of you single ladies who dig singer/songwriters with a passion.... here is my ultra sweet, cute, dare I say romantic *single* cousin Garrett! Here is a link to his facebook music page. Baby Ryah entered this world after 30+ hours of labor at a little less than 6 pounds. Her mom, the amazing Ultra Runner channeled her stamina and determination and labored for nearly 20+ hours before asking for an epidural.

Ryah's parents work with the disabled through the educational system and have the biggest hearts for those around them. They live in what my boys considered "Bear Country" from the Berenstain Bears books. Beautiful surroundings with lots and lots of room and country for little Ryah to run, if she so chooses to follow in her parents Pearl Izumi footsteps (Ryah's mom is sponsored by Pearl Izumi and has one of the most colorful collections of running shoes possible. My husband is slightly jealous of her connections!)!

Congrats to the Nordell's! Ryah is so precious; you two have been truly blessed!(and MY family has truly blessed by the two of you!!!)

Ryah's dad Josh was able to calm her down with complete ease!

I will have you know that Ryah slept the very best while in this bucket! Who needs a crib?!

Their love story began over 14 years ago. The love between the two of them is unreal. Seriously, if you didn't know any better, you'd think they were just in the beginning stages of dating! The way Brendan looks at Sommer is just breathtaking. While editing these pictures, I had a constant perm-a-grin! (Looking at love birds for a long period of time just makes me a little giddy!)

When Sommer and Brendan were beginning their courtship, Brendan would send Sommer beautiful love letters. At the end of the love letters, he would sign them "truly always." They both had those sweet loving words tattooed onto their arms.

So, after looking at these pictures, you might be thinking that these are engagement pictures! Not so fast my photog friends. The two of them share 4 amazing children between the two of them! They have had their ups and downs throughout their 14 years of love, but as Sommer admits, they truly don't ever fight.

When they asked if I would capture their first family picture while I was visiting Portland, Oregon, I was estatic! Sommer and I have the same taste of "dirtiness and urbanish" locations, so, working with them was a snap. I was almost discouraged and brought to tears as I drove into Portland the night of the photoshoot and found it had been raining all day long. I don't think I could function for any long period of time in Portland. Yes, I lived near Portland for many years, but as a photographer, do you just deal with the rain? My prayers were answered as my GPS took me into downtown Portland and the rain vanished. I giggled and screamed with excitement!!!

The Slevin's found me wandering the streets of Portland and led me to our destination. Brendan had found a location that made me gasp. In all seriousness, my gasp was so loud, I swear my husband probably heard it a whole state away!

As the Slevins exited their vehicle, I found myself covering my mouth with excitement and happiness, trying not to gawk. The Slevin's family is beautiful, hip, urban, and ultra outgoing! Just the type of people I LOVE! In fact, I have asked Sommer if I could "claim" their youngest, little June, as a future daughter-in-law. June would be a perfect match for Tian, my youngest!

The 2+ hours spent with the Slevins was heaven. It was full of laughing, hugging, loving, kissing (lots and lots of kissing! My fav!), and hand holding. This family is not shy and show their emotions openly and freely! They love each other and it shows.

These family pictures are not perfect. But what I will admit is that they are priceless. What 14 year old (well, actually TURNING 14 years old 2 days following our photo shoot) willingly holds his 11 year old sisters hand without a fight and then laugh and joke with his parents as if they were his best friend? Only the coolest 14 year old boy I know of! The laughs and kisses are truly genuine. They were not staged or coaxed. This family loves each other, looks after each other, and enjoys each other's company!

Sommer, you are beautiful in every which way. You are a loving mother who puts her children's cares before her own. You have fun with your children and enjoy being in their company. You are one to be acknowledged as a true example of Motherhood!

Brendan, I loved watching you interact with each of your children. You take special time with each one of them and it shows! They love being with you!

Slevins, it was a wonderful, life changing evening spent with you. I am so happy you found your happy ending. May your love show through these images!

2 days following our photoshoot, Boston was turning. As we wandered the streets of Portland, talking about Boston turning 14, Brendan looked up and saw on the side of a building a HUGE #14! Talk about perfection!

8 years ago I had some dental work done. I went in for a simple tooth ache, and 4 dentist visits later, I still had my tooth ache AND a new acquired hole in my tooth. The dentist I was seeing never could seem to get the filling "just right," or at least that is what he told me. I was coming into work later then usual on my dentist visit days, and finally, my coworker said, "Why don't you just leave the guy. I have a great dentist you should check out." I left the guy and found the greatest dentist on earth. His name is Scott Carter.

Earlier this month, I was on my way to Sister, Oregon for a newborn shoot and I received a text from "Scott (the dentist)" as he put it! He was choosing me to take his sweet little baby boy's newborn pictures. I felt flattered, honored, and completely excited!!!

To be honest, I think this was the most nervous I was going to a photo shoot (well, maybe just as nervous as I was heading to my first Senior photo shoot 1 short year ago!!!). I had made sure to floss twice a day, brush three times a day, and whiten my teeth every single day leading up to the newborn shoot. I brought extra gum JUST so Scott and Amy didn't think I caught a bad case of gingivitis!!! (Did I mention Amy, Scott's wife is ALSO a dentist? Yeah, they met in Dental School at OHSU in Oregon.)I was sweating bullets, but when I entered their very warm and very beautiful home, my nerves were calmed and I was completely at ease.

It was so nice to finally meet Scott's wife Amy. My husband and I have been hearing about her for years. I think Scott probably got sick of hearing Justin ask, "When are you just going to marry her" at every one of his 6 month cleaning appointments. Amy is a quiet, loving, beautiful mother and devoted daughter. She wanted to incorporate an old pair of cowboy boots, (that belonged to her mother) that meant a great deal to her and her mother. The story behind the cowboy boots is so endearing and special, it probably shouldn't be publicly told through my blog. Just know that they are a special part of Amy's life. Hopefully little Will will wear them with pride one day knowing they meant so much to his grandmother.

When Amy was first pregnant, Scott wanted to name their little guy "Cowboy." I think it fits! (among other names, "Tank and Mac" were also front runners in Scott's book of boy names. Amy liked Jack, Hudson and Will. When I met Will, he actually didn't quite have a name. But, the Carters decided on the name Will, and I think Will is a perfect name for a perfect little guy!)

Beware! This is one of the cutest little guys you will ever lay your eyes on. He is also one of the smiliest babies I have ever met. I am sure, once he grows some teeth, he will have some of the perfect little teeth as well!

Congrats to the Carters. You have a handsome little man on your hands! And Scott, I will see you in about 4 months for my next cleaning!

Claire Elouise/Bend, Oregon Newborn Photographer

Baby Claire Elouise is one of the sweetest, quiet, calm babies I have met in a while. I met her when she was a little over a week old and she won me over in the first nano seconds of our meeting. She is the daughter of a dear friend from high school and I couldn't be any happier then to take her newborn pictures. If you remember from a few posts before, Sarah was just about to pop the last time I saw her!

Sarah was a trooper throughout not only her pregnancy but her labor. After some complications, Sarah was finally released from the hospital sporting a fancy "push present." I just read about Rachel Zoe's 10 carat push present , my dear friend was sent home with a medical bracelet she has to gracefully wear for at least the next 6 months along with administer shots into her abdomen just to thin her blood. I tell you what, this mama is not only amazing, she is brave! Claire Elouise, you are truly loved.

Baby Blanket
When Sarah and I spoke about Claire's newborn photos, there were three items she wanted to include in the photo shoot, and one was a knitted afghan. It was knitted by a lady named Helen Stevens, a long time nurse and a central oregon icon. She knitted it when she was 99 years young and lived to be 102 years old. This was the last afghan she knitted before her death. Very special indeed!

Another special item we included were these sweet, white shoes. These shoes were Sarah's and were in immaculate condition. Sarah was so excited to have a girl that could wear these.

The third item Sarah wanted to include was this pillow case embrodered by one of her grandmothers, or dear I saw great grandmothers.

I was shocked when Sarah brought out this picture of Claire's older brother Kevin. Can I saw virtually identical?

Thank you for the extraordinary opportunity to spend a fraction of time with your sweet baby Sarah. She is precious, a true miracle, and a blessing to all. May you heal to full capacity my friend!

Brianna+Tyler=fun, food, and memories/Boise Wedding Photographer

When I first met Brianna, she showed me a wedding that inspired her. We both went with the ideas from this wedding in a pumpkin patch and tried to recreate the vintage look in not only her pictures, but her reception as well. Brianna has one of the most amazing mothers who not only made most of Brianna's decorations, but she cooked most of food for the luncheon and reception. (minus the wedding cake!)

When you arrived at the reception site, you were welcomed with a huge banner that stated Brianna and Tyler's name. Written with bright chalk along the sidewalk of the venue were, let's just say, "well wishes!" (you will soon see one of MY favorite chalk creations!)

The reception was full of friends, family, and hugs galore! That Brianna is one popular girl. I think her little brother was VERY happy she had so many girlfriends come and wish her congratulations.

Congratulations to the sweetest, most thoughtful couples I know! I hope we stay in touch!

Brianna+Tyler=L.O.V.E/Boise Temple Wedding Photographer/Boise Family Photographer

I had been looking forward to this special day for weeks! Not only was it my husband's 35th birthday, it was also Brianna and Tyler's wedding! Brianna and I connected on so many creative levels, I was full of excitement and anticipation just waiting to see her wedding finally come together!

I arrived at the temple very early, like I said, I was eager and full of anticipation! As I watched the wedding party exit the temple prior to Brianna and Tyler, I felt as if I was watching the Little Mermaid and her groom. Seriously, no joke. In fact, one of the bride's little cousins said, "Mommy, Bertha (I am making the first name up because I don't have a clue who the bride was!) looks just like Ariel on the Little Mermaid!" She thought it was sweet, I thought it was typical. Typical homemade dresses (I don't have a single thing wrong with homemade. In fact, my little flower girl/jr. bride's maids wore homemade dresses to MY wedding!) with tons and tons of bridesmaids. Some pregnant, some who looked like they were just entering middle school, like I said, a ton of bridesmaids! I was staring WAY too much at this wedding party and almost lost track of the time.

Moments later, I saw the wedding party I was waiting for and it was a complete breathe of fresh air. As if J.Crew's models graced off the magazine pages and walked onto the Boise temple grounds. SERIOUSLY! Beautiful, elegant and oh so lovely! (I now use the word "lovely" quite frequently thanks to my new friend Brianna, who, by the way, if I were 10 years younger, I really hope we would have been good friends! She is just like her mom!)
Thank you Brianna and Tyler for getting married. I love weddings, I love flowers and people in love. You made me smile, laugh, and want to love even more than I already do.

***on a side note... when we were through taking pictures, Brianna realized that her and Tyler's car keys were with Brianna's mom... at the wedding luncheon a few miles away. They were stranded at the temple without a car to get them to the luncheon. I offered my amazing escourt services (meaning my transportation services for all you dirty minded folks out there!) and took them to the luncheon. Actually, Tyler took us to the luncheon as I rode in the back seat; taking the seat my 5 year old son usually sits in. (praying I didn't have crumbs stuck to my bum from the back seat of my car. I swear I clean my car, but this morning I was more worried about all of my camera equipment rather then vacuuming.) We rode to the luncheon listening to Tyler singing, "The Bear Necessities" from Radio Disney. Growing up in Germany, I was surprised Tyler even knew the song. Shows you how lame-o I am when it comes to other countries.***

There was this friend of mine from high school that was the "everything" girl! She was beautiful, she was outgoing and sweet, she was everyone's friend. She was an amazing athlete who was very well known for her spectacular pole vaulting skills, she was involved in the school's newspaper, student council, and when the time rolled around, she organized our high school reunion. This is my fantastic, wonderful, beautiful friend Sarah, and she has a little secret!

Sarah's got a bun in the oven and is about to pop in these pictures! Against all of her doctor's wishes and orders, this adventurous friend of mine went on a *little* hike throughout the beautiful surroundings of Bend, Oregon and gave me her greatest most beautiful grin through all of those pregnancy pains! We were hoping our little shoot would put her into labor, but alas, she remained pregnant until the day of her due date.

Bend, Oregon produces some of the cutest kids I know! On a recent trip to my hometown, I had the opportunity to spend some quality time with a cute little 4 year old named Kevin. This little squirt is the most mature little 4 year old I know! He has the most AMAZING "magic manners" I have heard, he can tell you all about his rock collection, AND, pretty soon, he is going to make a great big brother!

And did I mention he has the most envied eye lashes I have EVER seen? Give me some eye lash lovin' Kevin!

{Liberty Charter Prom}, Nampa Prom Pictures

Umpteen years ago I attended Prom with my football/wrestling boyfriend. It was an event of the year. To begin the evening of Prom, we had our pictures taken by a professional picture which I cherished! This photographer would open up his studio for 2-3 hours for high school students to have their Prom pictures taken. It was one of the high lights of my night, getting our pictures taken in front of a beautiful NATURAL background with great lighting and a professional behind the camera. No waiting in lines, wasting precious dancing time, cheesy backdrops, and crappy pictures.
So, when I got into photography a little over a year ago, one of my first thoughts was back to high school and my prom pictures. I never got brave enough to accomplish one of my little dreams, UNTIL a sweet High School senior by the name of Devon texted me; asking if I would like to take some Prom pictures! Isn't it funny how your dreams come a reality through ways you would never expect?

Thank you Devon and Jarom for introducing me to your ultra cool friends! I had an *epic* night (in the words of sassy, fierce and amazingly cute girl McKenna)thanks to you two and your friends! Jarom, next year? I sure hope so!!!

{Rhett} 2 year old/Star Child Photographer

Rhett and his mom are two of my favorite people! We had one of the most fun mornings playing with wooden planes, reading books in a field, crawling through crates and eating cupcakes in celebration of Rhett turning TWO!

It has been so rewarding watching Rhett grow up and taking part in his many milestones! I first took his picture when he was a mere 6 months old, then when he turned one, and now a third time for his 2nd birthday. I am truly blessed with good friends and happy memories!

Lookie how cute Rhett's mama Nicole is! Just looking at this hot mama, would you ever guess she had a bun in the oven? Yeah, she is 20 weeks and not even showing a bit. She SWEARS she is just covering up, but girlfriend, that little boy in your belly needs to display himself!!! Some ladies are way too lucky!

I had the cutest assistant with me on this shoot: His name is Tian! He is 2.5, loves super heroes, has the greatest dance moves (he LOVES Justin Beiber and requests Baby Baby Baby quite frequently!) and on this special morning, he was dressed in his new "cool" coat as he calls it to impress his friend Rhett!

She knows how to work it in front of a camera, she has got some serious smarty-pants brains (she got into BYU-Provo, no problem!), and she is one of the sweetest, most thoughtful 17 year olds you will ever meet. Her smile is warming, her eyelashes go on for years and years, AND, I find her smile and looks VERY similar to a certain Reality Star by the name of Kim K.

A few days before our shoot, I told her I would take her pictures with ONE condition: if she would show me how she gets her amazing eye lashes. I am very jealous of anyone who has naturally long and thick eye lashes. SO, the day of our shoot, I purposely didn't wear any mascara or curl my eye lashes. I told her, "This is me when I haven't curled my eye lashes. What is your trick?" She took one looked at me (probably in disgust because I am very unsightly without make-up!) and said, "You curl your eye lashes?" Like, are you from Jupiter?! Yeah, this girl doesn't need a heated eye lash curler like I do to make her amazing eyes!

Thank you for your trusting me with such an important part of your Senior year. I enjoyed every moment of our photo shoot! Even the part where the annoying birds wouldn't stop singing us a tune AND running away from the bees in the orchard! Memories of Margaret!!!

May your future be bright and wonderful Margaret. You will make an excellent nurse for sure.

To be honest, I was a bit nervous for this photo shoot. I am very specific about my newborn shoots. The temperature needs to be just right, the lighting is always something that gives me anxiety, and the age of the baby is the most important factor for a newborn photo. So, when I was asked to take pictures of a 4 month old, I was first very excited, and then the nerves within my stomach began crawling around. 4 month olds don't sleep very soundly and they usually hate being naked. Well, this little man surpassed my expectations! Thank you Angie for the opportunity to take pictures of your sweet little man; he is so tender!

As I waited for Brianna and Tyler to exit the temple this morning, I got a bit choked up. I have had one of the greatest experiences over the last two months with this sweet couple. She comes from a sweet family with the most amazing parents. He comes from Germany, went to Mexico on an LDS mission and came back to Boise to sweet Brianna off her feet. Brianna is shy but very sophisticated, Tyler is a jokester who has devised the greatest way for creating the most realistic smile. Together they make a lovely couple who I will miss terribly.

So, without further hesitation, here is their bridal shoot from a few weekends ago, on the windiest, probably chilliest day of the year. I had promised myself I wouldn't post their pictures until their big day.
