As featured in Limelight (top of this page), my flight journey back to New Zealand starts at 2.30pm from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. That also means the end of three months summer vacation, and I have to get ready for a new challenging year in Pharmacy second year. As I will be among the first back to Dunedin (among my friends), I will need to do some “exploration” again.

Let me make an account for this three months duration basically spent indoor at home. Eat, eat and eat is the routine forced by Mum. When I said the food is too much for me (my Mum cooks), ‘You need to eat’ is all she said. Honestly, I have little tummy again out of three months sedentary life. As I have no money to look around my beloved country, most of my time spent in front of my Aspire 4730Z. Internet with its products (online streaming media and World of Warcraft) are my only companions. There is no mood for studying hard materials, so I watch only informative media (for example Discovery Channel) online not to wasting my precious time.

However, I did break my “dormant” time thrice, to meet my dearly primary schoolmates. Below are the most recent two meetings at two luxury (yes, the price is expensive for my thin wallet), a week before my departure to New Zealand.

My friends, I apologise for exposure to the public, but I promise to keep you anonymous.

As my flight is on the 30th December on lunar calendar, which is the last day of the year, my parents and grandparents prepared whole lot of “New Year Food” for me. Too bad I never fancy junk food.

Egg “rolls”, but they do not actually roll.

Premature papayas. They will ripe after two days.

“Year” Cake. Elder says we will grow faster by eating this sticky gel-like cake.

I have no idea what is this called. “Prawn rolls”? Or “Tiny Popiah (spring roll)”?

Memoirs of Those Glory Days.

It has been four years I left my high school, and nine years from primary school. Primary school period was the happiest time with small buddies. I still remember how I got on the stage first time for a speech, and I led the whole class as a class monitor. Those “first times” encouraged by my teachers and friends, built my personality today.

Graduated from a vernacular school, I experienced five years of student life in multiracial environment. I learned the meaning of real Malaysian. I learned to voice my opinion without harassing or hurting anyone’s feeling. I was exposed to politics (which not supposed to). Finally I managed to balance between leading (meetings and running) and academics. I was trained to be relentless and “aggressive”. It was the feeling of being needed that motivate me through all those tired days.

However, my arrogance and self-confidence gone after I finished my National Service period. I know the feeling to be inferior than others. Despite the loss of motivation that always keep me “aggressive”, the love for my country remains while my head stays clear most time.

Experience in New Zealand (and possibly for another three years) makes me an adult, who always think to control situation and make decisions. I no longer hesitate to contact with other cultures, but to stand firm on my own ground.

My last clause, I will be back for Malaysia.

Back to National Museum.

1st January is the day I officially turned 21 (even though my birthday is not there yet). My family had a day out to National Museum, where we have not visited since five years ago. In my previous impression, National Museum has a large collection of flora and fauna specimens, which fascinates me. However, in conjunction with 1 Malaysia concept, the exhibits are changed to educate visitors about Malaysia in citizenship aspect. The exhibits ranges from prehistoric civilisations to current Malaysia, which are not the reasons I visit a museum.

This sign is shown near the lowest staircase towards the main entrance of museum (the arrow does not mean the road to heaven) .

One of the murals at either side of the main entrance, tells the history of Malaysia in graphical way.

First Malaysian national car – Proton Saga. New model has been released, which makes this model a history.

I really do not agree with then designer of the lift structure. How can a “steely” structure fit into “woody” environment?

One of the famous evidences that proves Islam religion came to Malaysia. Unfortunately, this is a replica.

I'm 21!

For so long, I dream about life as a politician. Dear readers, please do not ask me what is my election (not erection) manifesto, as you will know one day. 1st January 2010 is the day that mark my legal status as an adult (in Malaysia), and provided with the obligation to vote as a Malaysian.

Of course, before I go any further,

HAPPY 2010!

New year does not mark anything for me, in my context. Today is just another yesterday’s tomorrow, while life still going on (as long as God has not call me yet). Same as birthday, nothing significant to celebrate with. Most people say I am pessimistic about life, but I say there are something else better than celebrating some moments that bring nothing beneficial to the rest of the world.

2010 will never be easier than days before. Personally, I am admitted into Pharmacy second year in University of Otago, along with my friends’ and family’s prayers. Globally, issue of survival under deteriorating Earth condition became a hot topic. In fact, my family is facing economical pressure, while prices keep surging up. At the same time, my younger sister who is waiting for her SPM result, may bump into trouble(s) to further her studies (she is just to dependant on me).

Anyway, my only hope for this 2010 is may God bless me in all my decisions. Life is never free from problems and decisions, so I just hope He will guide me through the right choices. May God bless you all too!

To the “Forgotten” Part of the World…

Dear readers, after six days away from home in Rawang, I was out for “vacation” in Sitiawan, Perak. For a city dweller, I felt so bored along the stay. Situation become worse of not having good companion(s). All right, I do not think readers will want to listen (read) my rant. Please enjoy some of my shots from 5.0 Megapixel G900.

Please read the sign. I got frustrated after my excitement get swept away. I arrived at 12.30pm, the door is not opened. When I came back at 2.15pm, the door was shut tightly! WTH! I really need to swear, as I was really bored!

The two rows of “headless” spears are imbalance. What a shame on a project that spent so much money that can feed so many instead.

I do not understand, why not? I saw a number of people still resting under camps. I hope somebody can tell me the reason of this sign.

When Time Passed by…

Dear readers, today lets play a few “Hide and Seek”. Time has altered me physically and mentally, but now you have to find me in some old pictures.

Y2K. My first class picture after moved into Rawang, Selangor.
Hint: I was assistant class monitor.

Still year 2000, when I was Standard Five. Obviously this picture was taken during Living Skills class, even though I have no idea of “how” and “why” this photo was taken.
Hint: Round face boy holding a “wood-like” thingy.

Year 2001, when we were Standard Six.
Hint: I was no more assistant class monitor. I am now a class monitor.

Year 2009, eight years after we graduated from the same class. This photo is taken last week in Berjaya Times Square.
Hint: My typical dark glasses, short hair and round face, ha3!

Those good old days, are days with nothing to worry about, except tests and exams (of course). We ran around playing “Run and Catch”. We were surrogate brothers and sisters for so long until today.
Even though we have different achievements today, our friendship is still strong like years ago. We even still remember our former class teacher, Madam Teoh, whom we are going to meet this Sunday! (Sad to say, I am unable to meet with her as I have to follow my mum to Ipoh).
Hope we can realise the vivid words usually signed on those memory diaries, “Friends Forever”.

What a Wonderful Day!

It has been eight years after I graduated from primary school. Most (if not all) of my former classmates proceed in different ways, both physically and/ or mentally. Generally, girls have grow prettier, while boys grow in size but face. How do I know?

Last Sunday, we (six of us, four brothers and two sisters plus one girlfriend, not mine) met up in Berjaya Times Square. Like always, KTM (electric commuter in Malaysia) and monorail (light transit in Kuala Lumpur City Centre) are the most cost and time efficient way of transport.

You cannot miss to watch movie in Times Square, so do we. We watched newly released Storm Warriors with some popcorns and fizzy drinks. Overall, Storm Warriors is packed with slow motions and comical fight scenes. Most of the “real” fight scenes are replaced by comics. Excluding Aaron Kwok and Ekin Cheng, most of the actors do not really “act”, merely speak and walk around. Audience are expecting action filled movie, compared to Storm Riders of 11 years ago, yet we are presented with slow and few plots movie. The only aspect you can praise, is the beautiful graphics in comical scenes. Good graphic production indeed.

Back to us (the main characters, ha3), we spoke and laugh and tease around all time. Even though we got our own different life paths, but we never out of topics.

After lunch, I have my very first experience in bowling. Even though bowling is not as fun as paintball, but playing with brothers and sisters will not lack of laughter. When 10 rounds was over, I got a total of 65 points. What a shame.

Yeah, forgot to announce. I bought a new handset in Sungei Wang Plaza.

G900 with RM700 including 2GB’s Micro SD. It is out of expectation, equipped with touch screen! 5.0 Megapixel is sufficient is enough for me to provide clear pictures here. Dear readers, you can expect some pictures later. However, there are drawbacks too. This edition is not released with Mandarin software! How am I going to read and write Mandarin and Japanese characters! After some search in internet, I am informed about Hong Kong’s version. I will go to one of the Sony Ericsson’s outlet to change the firmware later (in Damansara Utama).

Well, we made another pledge (is this the right word?) to meet again some time later, maybe 20 December, with our former class teacher invited. Eldest brother is assigned with the job to invite her (yeah, is she). Look forward!

Fall of Lich King – Tier 10.

I have been playing World of Warcraft (private server) since after final examination. This massive online game offers different experience and needs different techniques, compared to all other online RPG (role playing games). Players practically do not need bot (little programme serves some particular purpose) to level up. I am not going to describe this game’s features, instead you can read more – World of Warcraft.

Blizzard Entertainment released a new, but last patch to Wraith of the Lich King few days ago. The arrogant Arthas/ Lich King (the bad guy) finally has to fight the Argent Crusade (the good guys) face to face. Yet, I will never interest of the story behind games. I only love to observe the appearance of equipments.

This is the Tier 10 of Death Knight, the only hero class (so far) in WoW. It looks too slim on human (one of the race in game). Anyway, it looks cool, resembles Arthas the Lich King.

Mage with Tier 10 does not looks any special than normal robes, except with those greenish glows. The helmet looks like old Chinese hat, really.

Above is human Priest. In my opinion, this is one of the best looking Tier 10. High collar looks elegant with auras. Shaman’s tier is better.

The nicest Tier 10 is for Shaman, even though I will not play a Shaman in game. The helmet with Death Knight’s glowing blue eyes and beast’s face shows the power and will of a Shaman.

Warrior’s Tier 10 is one of the worst, seriously! With a broken left horn and long snout hog on shoulders, it spoils the powerful image of my beloved Warrior. The broken horn represents a defeated Warrior, how pathetic.

I am still looking hard, where go the eyes of Druid? Druid does not transform into one-eyed monster, Blizzard! The model on the shoulders looks awful.

A Hunter in Tier 10 looks like a warrior came from future. Glowing eyes scare beasts, you know? It does not looks bad, but not good either.

Blizzard! How can a Paladin wear something looks like a robe? Paladin wears plate mail, my God! However, the helmet looks great. Anyway, I love Paladin’s Tier 3.

Rogue who is supposed to “work” in dark, now with a “headlight”. It looks funny, just like Tier 9 with an emotionless face.

Warlock is the one who enslave demons, so wearing a mask of demon is reasonable. However, his pointy hat reminds me of those old days witches and wizards.

Tier sets are always the aim and final gears for all players, but they cost time and effort and internet bill to fight those powerful monsters in dungeons.

All right, going to sleep now, finishing this off topic post. I have to meet up with my brothers and sisters since primary school tomorrow. What a good day to remember those good old days…

Dead, or another New Start?

Above table shows my final exam results. I know it is ugly, but there should be no secret in this world. Besides, this is what I deserved after such hard work. Studying until late at night and cracking head for all those “crazy” questions (not all, but some) did not pass me to the 70 cut-off point intended. I know dad is very disappointed, and I may drag him down to this dark water (he is my guarantor), but I can do nothing to change.

~~Those 12A1’s during SPM are useless for life.~~ I love biology and anatomy, just as my result shows (biology and anatomy is always highest mark I can get). I love it not because it is easy to study (it is among the hardest subjects for most), but biology is the only subject I can see and analyse. It is the subject that really open my mind and heart towards God.

There are a few “choices” available for me now, even though I already decided which path to walk down. I know I do not have, and will not have money to pay back Malaysian government. Then, I hope I will be permitted to continue my degree in Bachelor of Sciences – Anatomy and Structural Biology I guess. I do not want to talk about other paths, just to tell I will not back off or withdraw anyway.

To all my supporters, I apologise to disappoint you all. Please help me again, pray for me. Thank you all for being so supportive along the period.

Recently, warning has been assigned towards ships near New Zealand’s water due to the drifting of massive number icebergs from Antarctic. Below is the report from internet.

Hundreds of Antarctic icebergs are drifting north toward New Zealand, prompting a warning to all ships in the area.

The nearest, about 90ft tall, was 160 miles south-east of Stewart Island and was part of a flotilla that could be seen on satellite images.

The alert comes three years after cold weather and favourable ocean currents saw dozens of icebergs float close to New Zealand's southern shores for the first time in 75 years.

No major shipping lanes or substantial fishing grounds are in the area, but most ships there have little hull protection if they collide with an iceberg — which typically has 90% of its mass under water.

Rodney Russ, expedition leader on the tourist ship Spirit of Enderby, spotted a 500ft-long iceberg about 60 miles north-east of Macquarie Island and heading north — about 500 miles south of New Zealand. Australian scientists reported another mass of 20 icebergs drifting north past Macquarie Island two weeks ago.

Satellite images showed the group of icebergs, spread over a sea area of 600 miles by 440 miles, moving on ocean currents away from Antarctica. One of the images alone had 130 icebergs and another had 100.

Prior to 2006, icebergs are rare within New Zealand’s water. Thanks to global warming, dramatic melting of ice in Antarctic has not only made icebergs drifting north, but also increasing the sea level. If you do read my previous post, 350ppm is the carbon dioxide content that is suitable for lives, but the number has just hit 387ppm as reported.

Apocalypse or Judgement Day or Doomsday or whatever you call, will definitely arrive someday. It may not be this generation, readers, but our children or grandchildren. The catastrophe may not be as described in 2012 (new released movie), but more likely to be like featured in The Day After Tomorrow (one of my favourite movie). God created the world for our living, yet we are going to commit suicide, slowly but massively destructive.

I love Malaysia, just like the tag that always floating on this page. After more than nine months away from Malaysia, now I officially announce that I arrived back in home safely and soundly . That 13 hours (almost) at altitude 12K metres really killing me. I finished more than five newly (some maybe a bit old, but still recent) released movies just within ten hours from Christchurch (New Zealand) to Singapore, but that was still…

Immediately after landing, my skin and nose show some adaptations (another Biology lesson ha?). My skin felt the humid and damp air, different from the cold dry air in New Zealand. I just do not know why my nose blocked immediately (until now actually). I want to smell the scent of my motherland’s soil, but I just unable to do it.

Now I am sitting in front of my “new” laptop from my sister, connected to slow internet. Watching YouTube is no longer possible, as I hate waiting for streaming. Roaming and surfing is just not comfortable, as a page may take about three to five minutes (sometimes longer) to fully loaded. Then I tried to play WoW, but the server plus slow internet connection (high latency killed my character twice) has just killed my enjoyment.

I am now waiting for time to change my handset and add a camera to my collection. Then I can do something serious (do not ask me how serious it will be). My handset already ate me at least THREE memory sticks, which costs about RM50 each. I must change it, to compensate my eight months of no-music-by-me life. A camera is a perfect tool for the development for this site, don’t you think?

All right, sorry for another no-picture “report”. I promise to come back with some really excited stuffs soon. Enjoy your holiday!

To all the dear readers,

I really do not know what is going to happen next, but I know what am I doing now – writing to you all. It is 10pm New Zealand time. This maybe the last words that I wrote to you while sitting in Dunedin (you maybe curious, I promise to tell you next), so please continue reading, even though no any images posted between lines.

After having shower, while listening to music, I already packed everything (except a few things that I forgot) in luggage, into self-storage store or to my friend’s house. I just need to sleep early and wake up at 4.30am tomorrow (wish I can do so ). My friends and I rent a 10 cubic metre cabin for 15NZD per week, along our three months’ vacation back to Malaysia. It had been hard time to find the cheapest storage, but we were lucky enough to get this low price after we failed to locate the main office of our main option (ha3!).

Since we bought air ticket about five months ago, so we did not actually expect we are the latest to leave Dunedin among our Malaysian friends. I am the worst, if I managed to get back to Dunedin next year – I have to leave my family behind at the airport at the first day of Chinese New Year ! Even though we decided not to attend Pharmacy camp, but it is still annoying, OK? I just checked travel documents again, no problems spotted.

Now I need to tell reasons why I sound worry. As I am under Malaysian government’s scholarship, so I hold the liability to either graduate a degree or pay a lump sum of compensation (more than 100K Ringgit Malaysia so far). I need to score an average of 70 for my final exam, but I do not have the confidence since the papers are as hard as rock to me.

I am still not sure what should I do when I am back to Malaysia. Anyway, food always come first. I missed spices a lot! Dear readers, please pray for me.

After I finished the last disastrous paper of Epidemiology yesterday, I officially announce that I am back to active here! Another GOOD (maybe bad for some) news is, my flight back to my very own Malaysia is 20th November from Dunedin.

I do not plan for anything, but there are quite a few long term projects to start with.

Dreams forum – Design, posting, promotion… Finally I got time for my very first forum, which is an important platform I get to know the world.
World of Warcraft (WoW) – After I gave up Celestial Destroyer (which is a leech), I love this massive online game after all. Do not worry, I do not pay a cent: private server is divine for poor players.
Project paper work for year 2010 OUPERSADA general annual meeting – I never been a project manager before, so this is important for me.
Be the Emperor among the Kings! – This is one of the most important things that I will never forget to take care of. I just bought a new domain with Blogger with my credit card applied in New Zealand.

Dreaming of back to Malaysia, with all the tasty and spicy food I missed about ten months. I am worrying about my family members, who are finding way out in the economy crisis. I really need to do something, not burden my Dad anymore. Anybody got any idea, what can I do?

Because the World Needs to Know

Just like previous year, I take part in Blog Action Day (there is a badge in the sidebar, just click as it costs nothing than a mouse click). This year’s theme is to fight climate change.

Even though I never believe doomsday will arrive at 2012, yet I am confident that human doom will arrive soon, maybe not in our generation but next.

You may ask WTH is the number 350 above represents. It should not be number of days in a year, as 365 or 366 are the numbers. If you do concern on environmental issues, specifically on global warming, you will realise that 350 is the scientific number provided the safe carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere, which is 350 ppm.

I am sure all of you, may feel the change in our climate at the least. You can ask people from Pacific countries about their homeland - islands are being conquered by the rising sea level from day to day. Five years ago, I still know that monsoon wind that blows across Malaysia is between April and September, and between December and March. Yet years later, I realise that monsoon did not come on time anymore. It was dry during Chinese New Year season, but these few years we sometimes drenched in the rain.

Lets look across the world. Dry places become crier, and wet places become wetter. Within these two months alone, how many countries have been devastated by flood? How many countries have been swept by typhoon?

Maybe you already donated to the victims, but are you ready for a long term fight?

It has been two consecutive busy days. After more than a week of preparation for Anatomy term test, I was once thought that I may have a free day gaming, but reality does not allow it.
After the test, the rest of my Saturday’s day (and night) was used to prepare the venue and materials for next day Eid Mubarak Open House. Event committee members (including me) do not differ between organisations (there are four student organisations) but work together as Malaysians, in order to make the events memorable. I climbed up and down the stairs and chairs. The result of the Open House really makes me smile out of satisfaction.
Even though my arms and shoulders still aching, I feel proud when I saw a few Kiwis ate few times of Malaysian food (Rendang specifically), one even ate up to four times!

I know I maybe a bit late than expected, but I am here finally. Warmest wishes that I can give from thousand miles away to my friends and all I know in Malaysia. Selamat Hari Raya Aidilifitri! Sorry for anything that I did wrong before (forgiveness is always great, right).

I bought some greeting cards before to give a surprise to some of my Muslim friends, yet when I realise that Hari Raya is tomorrow, it is too late for me to post them. Busy life has takes my mind away apparently. I do not even realise that already one month I fasted! Anyway, I phoned back to Malaysia to Teacher Mas and Teacher Hasz. I think I will phone Teacher Zuraida also (oops! It is 5am in Malaysia now). I feel warm deep in my heart when I listen to their voices (I missed them).

Out of my expectation, I received a greeting card from our Associated Dean of Health Sciences, Dr Warwick.

Malaysian students (all four Malaysian students organisations) will have an open house function at 4th October. I love Malaysian food!

All right, I need to go back . Update soon.

When Spring Kisses Dunedin

Daylight saving starts next week, which means New Zealand time will be FIVE hours faster than Malaysian time (shown in the clock on the sidebar). I cannot wait until 20th November when I come back to my motherland. Yet, there are a few tests and exams, which nothing less important than SPM or SSABSA, before enjoyment starts.

All right. Not to mention about all those tension “thingy”. Lets soothe your eyes with some pictures of Dunedin, where it is now embraced by Miss Spring.

Follows are some photos taken by my friends about our life in Dunedin, New Zealand some time ago. Credit to Chong who gave me all these photos, as I do not own any camera with resolution suitable for publication purposes (I have only a phone camera with 1.3 megapixel).

First time I skated, in a relatively empty ring. Almost all skaters are Malaysians, impressive? I Malaysia! This ice ring is totally empty without us! WTH will be a better place for beginners to trip, slip and fall without disturbing others (actually laughing by others)? I fell twice that day, yet my ankles are the parts where all the pain focused!

So called fruit tarts. Of course they do not taste as good as my favourite from King’s Confectionery in Malaysia. Lets see what our Apollo, Alan did with the tarts.

Our Apollo, Alan the Hong Kong boy has went back to further his tertiary study in Hong Kong. When it comes to food, it is a miracle to see him calling out full! He always says that he want to grow fat, which he will never been. Below is the full crew behind the production of the above fruit tarts.

Lets see how much food we cooked for Alan before he departed.

Stupid Drunken Bastard, Not Me!

Firstly, need to announce to the world, I am safe and sound in University of Otago, despite recent riot of Undie 500 by those "spoilt little rich kids, who think that they are going to be the future leaders of our country" (New Zealand’s police minister Judith Collins). Those described is definitely not me, as I was cramming my head with Biochemistry for the term test on the next morning, which is disastrous to me.

In my opinion, it is not the child who should be blamed, but the culture itself. For your information, alcohol is sometimes cheaper than food. That is too accessible and affordable for lower income community, which includes students.

I am still thinking, what makes the students (who lives just next to the university library) misjudged? How can 600 students from Canterbury can mix with students in Dunedin and “make an event”?

So far, I can just tell myself, NEVER get associated with any alcohol (alcohol for antiseptic purposes excluded).

Lots of people around the world still remember the sad moments started today (of course not 2009, but eight years ago). When the World Trade Centre collapsed to ashes, nightmare not only haunted Americans, yet citizens in Middle East. Warfare civilians may ask, “Are we the ones that do wrong?”

Since then, America treats Muslims like all are terrorist. America does not understand Islam. America is too arrogant in solving international tension. If invasion is allowed in country suspected with terrorism, why cannot other countries invade America? America thought they are civilised, but only barbarians love war. Am I right?
There was once, a few Malaysians being stopped at America’s custom, due to the “bin” within their names. That shows how ignorant America is. Do not try to be a hero, if you do not know the truth, Uncle Sam!
There is always an issue floating in the air of Islamic countries. Islamic countries should unite, as humans, specifically Muslims are in the same ummah. Muslims should show by action, that Islam is a peaceful religion, and real Muslims are not terrorist!
I am wondering, will America invade Malaysia or Indonesia someday? Lets think about it, on this 11th of September.
**Sky in Dunedin turns grey after few sunny days. Tomorrow is Biochemistry term test, which will kill me.

This afternoon, after I came back from become a “Price Surveyor”, I spared some time to “survey” the price (evaluated, of course) of Be the Emperor among the Kings! These are the results from different evaluation sites:
Biz Information - $3,451.80
**This is two times when I evaluated Emperor six months ago. Seems some improvements, ha3!
Sootle Directory - $5,325.00
**Still reasonable price. Yet it makes me happier!
My Website Worth - $ 125,000,003
**This, is, CRAZY! I know how is the traffic in my Emperor, but this is totally OUT of CONTROL! Wait, there is actually a catch.

What does it mean? Is the evaluation based on BlogSpot?
Anyway, Emperor is still my most valuable asset in the internet. I promise to keep it as long as I can, as it keeps my voice sounded to the cyber world.
