Seems his brother and fellow competitor, Bobby Lane, backed his boat trailer into Chris’ truck nearly ripping the driver’s door off at the hinges at the hotel they were staying at!

Others may have thought it was a bad omen but not Chris… he got out on the water, settled into fishing and won the tournament.

Making long casts with the Gambler Cane Toad and a steady, medium retrieve worked to get Chris the most bites.

“I missed an 8 pounder, a 6 pounder and two 5-pound fish,” Chris said, “but I didn’t let it get me down. You have to have mental toughness to be a tournament angler and to fish baits like these. Luckily, the right hook made a big difference, and I was able to land most of my strikes.”

United Airlines fell in line with Delta and Continental today when they announced they will be raising the fees they charge for checked bags. Starting January 14th they will be charging $25 for the first bag and $35 for the second bag - an increase of $5 per bag.

The newly increased baggage fees apply to passengers who purchase their tickets on or after January 14th for travel on or after January 21st.

This group of Hawaiian pro surfers is reaching out to help kids with genetic diseases such as Cystic Fibrosis so we thought their efforts were worth a mention!

They recently held a ‘Surf Experience Day’ in Hawaii to get kids who have cystic fibrosis out into the ocean water (which is high in saline) and experience what natural therapies can do for their lungs. The exercise and fun they get from these events is truly fantastic. What is even more amazing, kids who have cystic fibrosis respond very well to the salt water environment. The saline in the air and water breaks down the congestion that is in their lungs.
