Worl Tour Mosaic Turquoise Necklace

The creator of this piece says: This necklace was inspired by a piece I saw of someone whose work I admire. I wanted to see if I could render something like it but in my own style. I love the boldness of the 20mm round mosaic turquoise beads and the contrast that the antiqued brass leaf motif beads caps provided against them. It was fun to string this necklace with these components and add fluidity to this piece with the 3mm antique beads as the spacer.

The only thing I needed to add to this piece to set it off as either a necklace to wear to the front, back or side was a very large 40mm leaf clasp and two corrugated brass beads to highlight the clasp and provide an interesting texture to a necklace that already has textural and cultural beauty.

Irises

The creator of this piece says: I used a variety of ceramic beads, ornate brass spacer beads and toggle clasp. They were strung on strong bead wire to hold the weight. I found the beads in 3 different bead stores over the course of several months. I was inspired by the painting "Irises" by Van Gogh that I had the great pleasure of seeing at the Getty Museum in California.

Collage Pendant With White Crystal Agate Druzy

The creator of this piece says: I started out with the fabulous crystal agate druzy. To get together an interesting mix of complimenting gemstones, I chose different shapes, sizes, colors and textures of Prehnite, amethyst, garnet, apatite, citrine and peridot.

The 'backplate' is a round shaped grid which offers options to fix the gemstones anywhere you like and is also solid enough to keep the shape.

I attached all gemstones with 26 gauge solid brass wire, making sure that the wire is always pulled tightly and wrapped around the grid a couple of times between gemstones/gemstone groups.

For a bail I just added 2 larger, 18g jumprings. My chain suggestion is a 3.2mm solid brass ball chain. I wouldn't choose anything much thinner to keep the proportions as well as to support the weight of the pendant.

Turquoise And Orange Chunky Boho Donut Necklace

The creator of this piece says: For this necklace I wanted to do something in a more contemporary "boho chic" style with bright colors, so I combined an orange aventurine donut with turquoise blue Czech picasso beads and a pair of tumbled aventurine nuggets. To add to the chunky look and feel I used a heavy chain with large links. All of the metal components are made of oxidized brass.

Neo-victorian Serpentine And Frosted Glass Necklace

The creator of this piece says: For this necklace I started with a serpentine (new jade) cabochon and put it under a large antique brass hoop. I used a piece of oxidized brass filigree as backing to hold it in place. For accent beads I used a few smaller matching serpentine jade beads and some flat oval beads made of frosted glass, along with brass beadcaps and brass chain.

White Rose Of Texas

The creator of this piece says: I started by gluing the white resin rose to the leather, and then embroidered around it with white seed beads, crystals and pearls. I backed the creation with camel-colored leather. The necklace is strung with white beads of stone and resin as well as crystals of different sizes. It is about 20" long.

Amazonite Necklace With Smoky Quartz And Pearls

The creator of this piece says: This piece is made with antique brass, amazonite, smoky quartz and pearls. Blue and brown make a nice color combo, and amazonite and smoky quartz are two of my favorite gemstones, so I figured the two stones would look great in a necklace with a little bit of white thrown in somewhere.

I took a 40mm amazonite donut and wrapped it in several pieces of oxidized brass filigree and attached two dangles made from some smoky quartz nuggets and white pearls.

I then completed the necklace with a matching beaded chain made with flat amazonite ovals, more smoky quartz nuggets and brass beadcaps.

A Marriage In Purple

The creator of this piece says: Purple is one of my husband�s favorite colors and animal print is one my weaknesses. So accidentally dropping a dyed hammer-shell bead next to a piece of purple leather in my workroom made me think the two were meant to marry!

I accented zebra print shells, mother-of-pearl nugget shells and hand-cut leather with multi-shaped black glass beads hung around link hammered chain.

Frozen Summer

The creator of this piece says: This is the first time I've worked with sterling silver. I designed a pendant, and while I was working, more ideas came to mind. I had no idea that you needed so many different techniques and materials in working with silver, but I loved it. The stone inside is a blue Goldstone, lovely. It looks a bit like a sunflower with the tiny leaves.

The combination with the silver gave me the idea of the name of the necklace, because that year in the Netherlands the summer was really bad, cold and wet.

Pink Copper Goddess

The creator of this piece says: A beautiful goddess in pinks and copper. I embroidered her with copper iris colored glass beads, with bits and pieces from other jewelry parts for her crown which has a fabric pink flower rosette and mother of pearl. Inside is black felt and back is black leather. The same coordinating beads around the edges.

Pink pearl crown top. Fringe is copper clapper bells, copper lined glass beads, pink crystal bicones, pink quartz hearts. Necklace is fabulous pink yarn on jute with an equisite copper silky ribbon twisted and sewn on necklace with many beads. Very beautiful and she is one of a kind custom design. About 26" long and 12 hours work involved.

Love At First Sight Wrap Bracelet

The creator of this piece says: This fun beaded bracelet was created with 4mm sparkly brown and, just a touch of, hot pink crystal fire polished beads. Its "wrapped" effect was created by threading the beads with 10 meters of size 2 cotton cord onto soft 1.5mm brown leather cord. I made the catch for the clasp by knotting the ends of the leather, and created the stamped heart button for the catch out of copper metal clay to add a personalized element.

Coloured Soul Tagua Necklace

I paired tagua and acai berry with faux brown leather which I hand-knotted to allow the natural "vegetable ivory" tagua to show. The necklace is adjustable. I added cherry red acai berry beads to the ends for a finished look.

Rattlesnake Choker

The creator of this piece says: I've been working a lot with a weave pattern involving three strands of beads�I wanted the challenge of creating a five strand necklace and I thought it worked well as a choker. When I finished it, my little son looked at it and said it looked like a rattlesnake...I thought he described it quite well.

It measures 17 inches and combines small picture jasper rounds, small brown glass rounds, and small glass pearls.

Orange Elegance Necklace

The creator of this piece says: This jasper pendant was so beautiful that I wanted to use it in a necklace that would frame it well. The bright orange and dark orange metal beads woven in with the smaller copper ones created exactly the effect I was looking for--bright, vibrant, and pretty. It measures 18 inches and combines glass orange rounds, tiny copper rounds, and orange Swarovski crystals to create a single strand woven necklace. The pendant is a 2 1/2 inch stone of jasper with bands of yellow and orange. It fastens in the back with a lobster clasp and 1-2 inch extender to allow for a bit of adjustment in its length.

Autumn Flower Necklace

The creator of this piece says: This necklace combines the colours of brass, cream and amethyst. For the chainmail part I used 8mm rings, putting some 6/0 seedbeads on them before closing them.

On the bottom of the focal I worked with the seam measure rings. For the connection with the chain I kettled some Swarovski and other beads between the rings and the chain.

The creator of this piece says: This necklace is made using high polished silver chain and rubber coated satin red beads that I wire wrapped using silver hypo wire. I used silver jump rings to secure the beads onto the chain. I used a sivertone toggle clap as the closure for the necklace. The silver and red satin colored beads warms up the cool silver color of the chain and jump rings. The necklace is very light weight and the beads weigh nothing so it wears easily. These colors are powerful and beautiful togther.

Tristan Blue Quartz Necklace

The creator of this piece says: This necklace has four strands. I used four large blue glitter quartz beads for the focal points, and surrounded them with small round blue quartz beads. The rest of the necklace is a mix of black onyx multi faceted beads and gray seed beads. I saw these beads at the bead store and the vision for the necklace came to me a few days later.

The creator of this piece says: I love autumn for it's crisp weather and beautiful colors and wanted to create a necklace to incorporate those colors. I used brown, gold, orange, and pale yellow faceted glass beads on head pins connected together in triangles with jump rings. The leaves were hung down from those triangles and between the triangles to give the illusion of falling leaves. Very autumnal.

The creator of this piece says: I stiched around the rivoli with Delica beads onto Stiff Stuff. Then I worked around with white and crystal silver lined miyuki rocailles. Next I put white drops in between and put them together with tiny silver lined 15/0 rocailles. I glued the Stiff Stuff onto the bracelet and finished the back with ultra suede. Last, I put two rows of Swarovski bicone beads on the edge in 3 and 4 mm.

Carnelian Single Drop Earrings

The creator of this piece says: First I hammered heavy wire into ear wires. Then I wrapped very thin wire around the ear wires, adding in a Swarovski crystal. Then I wire wrapped the carnelian beads and attached them to the ear wires.

I tumble polished the finished earrings and oxidized all the copper wire to achieve the black color. Then I hand polished the earrings with steel wool and machine polished them again.

Abstract Pendant With Turquoise And Lapis Lazuli

The creator of this piece says: This unique pendant was handmade with silver that is hand cast into two different long strands. The bottom one is longer and has a smooth finish and is made into a double branch. The top one is textured and oxidized. Between each of these on the left side is a beautiful rectangular lapis lazuli gemstone. Next to the stone is a large C-shaped silver connector with blue cats eye stone inside and a silver beadcap below. Under the lapis is a small turquoise bead that dangles below the pendant.

This pendant has a silver tube with antique silver beads on each side. The necklace measures 17 inches plus a 2 inch extension and is finished with a lobster clasp.

Bird Family Amazonite Necklace

The creator of this piece says: This is a necklace which tells a story about my family. Our house has a huge California Coastal Redwood tree which we love and is very much part of our life. I loved using amazonite chips because each chip had a slightly different color and a shape. They were perfect for capturing tree leaf effects.

As a focal point of this necklace, I used a metal piece which represents my husband and me, two lovely birds sitting on a branch. Just below a happy bird couple, there are two turquoise beads dangling which represent our two young children. A happy family living on a beautiful tree.

Guardian - Free Form Peyote Stitch Beaded Bracelet

The creator of this piece says: With this bracelet I used seed beads, nymo thread, vintage button, tiger eye, brass leaf and Czech glass.

Start by using size 12 needle, around 4 feet of beading thread and a stop bead at the end with a 8 inch tail.

Gather up 5 or 6 different size 8 and 11 seed bead colors, a focal and assorted accent beads of choice with a button for a closer.

String beads in a variety of colors until the string is 1/2" shorter than the bracelet length you desire. Turn back and begin flat peyote stitch by entering the third bead from the end.

Turn and continue with flat peyote until you have your desired width. For the first few rows use matching beads. After the first few rows begin blending beads into adjoining beads. Make gradual changes of bead colors, and after a few rows start adding focal, accent beads, bridges to your desired width. Weave in any end or new thread to continue or finish your bracelet.

At the one end without the tail sew/anchor button on seed beads, its always best to use a button with shank.

With the tail end, with needle add enough size 11 seed bead to the tail to make a loop that will best fit the wrist and also fit over the button closer.

Choosing the colors, beads and when to add a bead and pattern some seed beads is the personal key to each bracelet, with free form there is no real pattern for your design accept for the one you have in your heart...have fun with making the bracelet, experiment with the layout and enjoy the mixing of colors and beads as you go around each row.
