HOW TO MAKE HANDCRAFTED FOUNTAIN AT YOUR HOME

What are the benefits of an indoor water fountain?

1.Keeps indoor air quality hydrated.
2.Gently purifies and recycles air.
3.Soothes harried nerves
4.Thoughtful but inexpensive gift
5.Great social focal point for guests
6.Water fountains is conducive to relaxation and sleep
7.Great alternative to white noise to drowning out annoying sounds. What better way to do it naturally but through the power of gentle flowing water.
8.The hydration in the surrounding air promotes free breathing but provides proper air moisture for healthy plant growth.

Materials Needed:
1.A container at 10 inches wide and 5 inches deep: non-porous ceramic pot, a metal container, or anything else that can hold water. The dimensions are guidelines.
2.Platform sponge from your local flower shop to hold your scenic decorations on top.
3."Acrofibre" mini fountain kit-Bag
4.Strong Water proof glue. See hardware stores.
5.And, of course, your theme materials such as: pebbles, river stones, Spanish Moss and various handcrafted plants for longevity.

Easy, simple and a wonderful way to fountain making:

First, purchase a non-porous ceramic pot, or metal holder with a diameter no less than 10 and 5 inches in depth to accommodate the pump. The 10 inches in diameter is to hold the interesting top scenery. Remember textures and colors are important. You can find materials anywhere with a little imagination. Such as river stones, pebbles, Spanish Moss, handcrafted small shrubs, plants, flowers. Or you can go to your local aquarium store for interesting water decorations for the tank and use those. The combination are endless!

Second, decide on the theme and sketch a basic layout of your water fountain.

Third, when you have decides on the decorative layout of your water fountain. You are now ready to provide your decorations with a foundation or platform to adhere. Your platform of course will cover the water pump. Create a small hole in the platform above for the hose to come out. Make sure it is undetected going up along side a graduated flower or plant upright in the container to cause water to flow downward.

Fourth, the platform can be made of the material you will find in flower shops arrangements. It's a green porous light weight material. Easy to make a hole, but because of its porous nature, but please becareful, small particles from this material can clog the pump once water is introduced at the base of the container. Using a strong water-proof glue, you can glue shells, or on Spanish Moss to give your fountain a full and finished look.

Fifth, fill the container with water. Plug in the pump, then sit back and relax to the soothing sounds of flowing water.

The thing to keep in mind is that wood tends to adapt, or equalize to the surrounding environment. And wood should be stored flat to avoid twisting or bending.

Properly stored lumber and plyrwood are not only kept out of the way but straight and dry, too. For most shops, this involves storing lumber in racks that hold the wood off the floor. Wood shrinks and expands according to the amount of humidity to which it is exposed. A wet floor can warp lumber and delaminate some plywoods. The lumber racks featured in this section are easy and inexpensive to build; you should be able to find a suitable design and adapt it to your needs.

If you have the space, you can set up an end-loading lumber rack. Such a system is relatively
easy to construct but you will need a wall twice the lengh of your lumber to allow for loading and unloading. If space in your shop is at a premium, consider a front-loading rack. If versatility is needed, examine a rack which allows you to store boards both horizontally and vertically. Avoid using Z-shaped brackets; they waste too much space.

The typical shop can stock hundreds of pounds of lumbet,so it is crucial to anchor your rack firmly-to at least every second wall stud or floor joist.

Make the most of spaces that you would not ordinarily consider as prime storage areas. If your ceiling is unfinished, nail furring strips across the joists for handy shelving to store short stock and dowels.

A dust collection system has one aim: to capture most of the wood dust created at each of your woodworking machines and prevent it from ending up on the shop floor, or, worse yet, in the air. There are a series of variables in every system that must be coordinated to ensure a strong enough flow of air: the power of the collector;the location and requirements of the machines in the shop; and the type, size, and layout of the duct work.

The design of a central system begins with a simple bird's-eye view sketch of your shop, arranging the machines and collector in their preferred locations. Then, draw in a main line running from the collector through the shop. Sketch in branch lines as needed to accommodate each machine and any obstructions-joists, beams, or fixtures--that may require special routing. For the best air flow, keep the main line and branch lines as short and straight as possible, and position the machines that produce the most dust closest to the collector. You may choose to run ducting along the ceiling of the shop, or, to increase the efficiency of the system, at machinetable height along the walls.

Since in most home shops only one woodworking machine will be producing dust at a time, 4- or 5-inch-diameter duct is sufficient for both the main and branch lines. There are several suitable types of duct available for dust collection systems. The best choice is metal duct designed specifically for dust collection. However, many woodworkers opt for plastic pipe, typically PVC or ABS. It is easier to seal and assemble (and disassemble for cleaning), Iess expensive, and more readily available.

Because plastic is an insulator, however, static build-up inside the pipe can reach dangerous levels during use-possibly high enough to ignite the dust passing through it. To prevent this, ground all plastic ducts by running a bare copper ground wire from each tool, inside the duct, to an electrical ground. As a safety precaution, have the system checked by an electrician. Smooth-wall rubber hose and flexible plastic hose, frequently used as branch ducts to connect machines to the main line, are other duct options for the home shop. Most of these products also require electrical grounding.

A central dust collection system requires a selection of fittings to route and join lengths of duct and dust hoods. If you run the main line along the ceiling, you can secure it in place with wire straps nailed to furring strips mounted between the joists.

Fittings directly affect the efficiency of the system, so choose them carefully. As a rule, gentle curves are better than sharp turns, so use Y fittings instead of Ts for branch connections, wherever possible. A blast gate should be located at each branch outlet to seal ducts when they are not being used, thereby increasing air flow to the machine in use. Hoods, whether commercially made or shop-built, should be positioned as close as possible to the source of the dust.

You have a choice of methods for connecting ductwork. Many ducts and fittings can be friction fit and secured with adjustable hose clamps. Duct tape can also effectively join plastic pipe, but
it is unsightly and will decay over time. A high-quality silicone sealant is probably a better choice for a permanent system. To ensure smooth air flow metal ducts should be joined with rivets, rather
than screws or bolts.

Once you have completed the layout of your system and selected the type of duct you will use, it is time to calculate your dust collection needs and select a collector. This involves determining the requirements of the heaviest dust collection task vour system must handle. This usually will be the sum of system losses and the air volume demanded by the machine most distant from the collector. Purchase a collector with slightly more capacity. System losses are caused by such inefficiencies as bends in the line, corrugated ducting, leaks, and hoods without flanges.

Maybe you are wanting to create furniture in front of your home or patio, having good furniture woodworking plans is a must. Plans will be the most important key item when it comes to any woodworking project and building furniture is no exception. When you look at a big project something like furniture you must never go cheap and use free plans or you will not be happy withthe outcome.

Free furniture woodworking plans will leave a large number to be desired as they are vague and do not include all the much needed information. If you've been having trouble finding plans the fit the design you have been wanting then it is best to buy software that has tons of plans other than buying books at hardware stores that only include a couple of plans. Having access to so many plans allows you more options and will give you suggestions to include in your own design.

The great thing whenever you download furniture woodworking plans is you will definitely receive plans from multiple expert woodworking craftsmen and not a single publishing company. This gives you to choose plans manufactured from leading expert wood crafters that designed well considered and detailed instructions that are designed to take the guessing from your project.

Just keep in mind building furniture is a major project but that hopefully will not limit you if you are a beginner at woodworking. Even those just starting out have got to begin somewhere. As long as you follow the plans and measure twice you will certainly accomplish your ultimate goal and have absolutely wonderful home made furniture built by yourself.

I suggest checking out Woodworking Design . There you will discover some of the greatest plans for woodworking design and I guarantee one will perfect for your home furniture.

Giving jewelry as a gift will make the recipient feel most special. It will delight the recipient especially if you had chosen the right jewelry that match with her style.

Regardless of, if you are looking for jewelry to compliment a formal outfit or for daily wear, you want the jewelry that you choose to draw attention to her best features or possibly camouflage less desirable areas. Your choice of jewelry style will subtly affect others perceptions, so what guidelines are there to help you select the most flattering jewelry?

Therefore, if you are thinking to give jewelry as a gift on her special day, you should take the following guidelines into considerations:-

Choosing a necklace for her

Before buying what you think will be a perfect necklace for her; you have to relate to her height, her build, her neck and the outfit she is going to wear.

Is she tall? Average? Petite? Your choice of necklace can minimize or emphasize her size. If you want to create or emphasize a taller appearance, choose longer necklaces and V shapes. A necklace that falls past the bust line but above the waist will elongate while a choker style or shorter U shaped necklace resting on the breast bone will shorten her appearance. If she is petite, go for daintier pieces.

You should also consider the size of the necklace that you choose. Fuller figures can compliment their proportions with larger, while chunkier pieces that would overwhelm to an individual with a smaller frame.

As for her neck, does she have a long slender neck or a short neck?

If she has a long slender neck, a perfect selection will be collar necklace or chokers. With ultra short necklaces, it will bring out the beauty of her long slender neck.

If she has a short neck, choose a long necklace or a lariat in order to make her neck looks longer. Besides that, both of these necklaces selection have an overall slimming visual effect on her entire look. The lariat, with the 2 dangling ends will give the illusion of length.

Lastly, the outfit she is will be wearing together with the necklace that you have chosen. Not to worry much on this as she will know to mix and match with her outfit.

Therefore, before you buy the necklace, try to visualize her wearing it.

Choosing earrings for her

Few factors should be put into consideration when you would like to buy earrings for her. First and for most, is the shape of her face. Second, is her hairstyle. And the last one, are the material and the most fitting style of the earrings that you are going to get for her.

Her face shape

The face shape is important when selecting earrings. Face shapes are generally grouped as: oval, rectangle, round, heart and square.

She has an oval face shape

Individuals with an oval face shape can wear any style, and you should have no problem choosing earrings for her.

She has a rectangle face shape

Individuals with a rectangle face shape should stay away from long, dangling earrings and you should choose smaller studs instead.

She has a round face shape

Selecting a hoop, circles or button style for a round face would only emphasize the round shape. Therefore you should choose a lean, long, angular and curvy line such as drop pearl earrings or chandelier earrings which will give a look of length to a round face.

She has a heart face shape

Individual with a heart face shape is complimented with triangular shapes with a wide base that contrasts a narrow chin.

She has a square face shape

Individual with a square face shape need the softness of round or hoop earrings.

Her hairstyle

If her hairstyle is short and pixie cuts, look for dainty earring styles. Look for bolder styles, if her hairstyle is long and thick hair.

Material & style of the earrings

You can choose from gold or sterling silver earrings or gemstone studded earrings, diamond earrings, classy pearl earrings, delightful hoop earrings, romantic stud earrings or trendy chandelier earrings. You can also select earrings in a variety of precious and non-precious metals. Please avoid buying nickel-based alloys if she is allergic. Instead, you can choose for hypoallergenic earrings made of titanium.

Find out from herself or her parents whether or not she is allergic to nickel-based alloys. You can look out, whether she is typically wearing gold at the moment or she prefer silver most of the time? And does she prefer more ornate jewelry or just simple piece?
No point of buying her expensively if she can't even wear it.

Again, try to visualize first the earrings on her ears. You have to concentrate on styles that accentuate the ear without overwhelming it. Tiny stud earrings tend to get lost on anyone's ear, while huge, draping pieces draw the eye downward.

If she does not have pierced ears, clip on earrings and earmuffs are an ideal choice.

Choosing bracelets and rings for her

Does she animated with her hands when talking? Then, take as much consideration to the jewelry there, as near her face.

Similar guidelines should be followed with bracelets and rings as with necklace choice. Women of average build and height will find a wide bracelet most complimentary. Petite women should look for more delicate pieces and tall or full figured women should layer several small or wide bracelets, avoiding very delicate pieces that can look lost.

Choosing a ring for her is quite tricky especially if you don't know the person's size. Of course, it will be easier if she will be coming along with you to the jewelry shop. But, you want this to be a surprise gift for her. Want can you do? There are two solutions. First solution that is easier for you is, you go for something that doesn't require any measurements such as necklace, pendants, earrings, bracelet or even pin or brooch. The second solution is asks her something about rings. Questions must be in general, please. Let say you are reading a magazine and there is an advertisement on jewelry. From there, you can create question by question and indirectly you can pop with a question what size her finger is then quickly cover-up with other question.

When selecting rings make sure that the setting doesn't cover her knuckle which not only will cause fingers to look short but can interfere with movement and comfort.

Shorter fingers benefit from oval settings while longer fingers look best with wide bands or simple, round settings.

Choosing What Would You Love Her to Wear

While these guidelines may influence the type of jewelry you select, you can be sure that there are many, many choices for all tastes and occasions regardless of shape or size.

Above all you should select jewelry she loves to wear. Jewelry lasts a lifetime and should always feel good to wear, so ultimately make a decision based on what makes her FEEL wonderful.

Also, always remember that, the right choice makes the overall look simply gorgeous.

Creative Challenges

One of today's parental challenges is finding constructive creative project for their children that does not involve some sort of computerized device. If you begin a sentence with "When I was growing up", you get the immediate rolling of the eyes and know you are being tuned out. Really though, when I was growing up, we had brain games like Monopoly, books and creative projects given to us by school. Regardless of how much extra kids today have for entertainment, you can only do the same stuff so many times before it becomes boring, especially when there's no creativity involved. It's even worse because I won't let them watch TV all day or text their friends in never ending conversations.

I was really surprised when my daughter first pointed out the YUDU Screen Printing System on an As Seen On TV promo. When I saw it the second time, I thought it might be a great way for her to be creative while making or decorating items that would be fun to wear, use or give to friends. I also thought that it would give me the opportunity to spend some quality time with her without appearing to be intrusive. When they get to be a certain age, hanging with parents is definitely taboo. So, when I said we'd try it ($33. plus shipping), I was temporarily a hero!

YUDU Creativity

When the YUDU arrived, I was almost overwhelmed with all the extras that came with it. But, the instructional DVD and written directions soon helped everything fall into place in a logical fashion. The YUDU came with enough materials to keep us transferring designs to many different types of surfaces for a long time! In case you're not familiar with Screen Printing, it's a process by which you transfer designs or artwork from "screens" on to most any surface you choose. You can creatively transfer on to tee shirts, posters, flyers, clothing and more. And with the YUDU Machine, clean-up is quick and easy. You used to have to go to a professional print shop to get this type of work done, but not any more.

Our first project was to do a transfer on the tee shirt that came with the order. If we were going to mess something up, we'd rather not use one of her favorite shirts as our first project. It came out really good, much better than I expected in fact. So, we took one of her favorite shirts and did our first transfer, a horse of course! We were getting the hang of it because it came out better than the first one, so we did a transfer onto her jeans next. Now, that she's feeling more comfortable with the system, she's got her friends coming over to do screening on their clothes. They've taken over the kitchen, but at least I know she's in the house with her friends and involved with something constructive. The next thing we'll tackle is transferring designs on to posters for school projects.

So, I wound up completing the purchase for around $300. The YUDU Screen Printing System wasn't in the budget, that's for sure. But, my daughter's gotten totally involved with some great projects; she's enjoying being creative instead of watching TV or on the phone. That's worth a bunch!

Stained Glass Lamps and What Are They Used For:

Stained glass lamps bring out the artist in you; they offer personalization and are beautiful accents to your home. You can easily create an exciting accent to any room with the addition of a stained glass lamp. You can learn to make your own using stained glass kits and you'll find hundreds of options and styles available. The calming effect and beauty of stained glass lamps can't be described. And when you turn yours on and sit down to relax at the end of long day you'll smile to yourself at how nice they look and the good feeling they give you.

What stained glass lamps were originally used for:

Stained glass lamps originally were made as works of art, and they can be priced as such. Having true antique lamps in your home can be expensive. But there are many current day artists who design and create lamps as well where you can find a one of a kind design that will meet your budget. When you have these in your home you'll add it for your own personal reasons. But for many people they were considered to be a showpiece for the home, and they were used in formal settings.

What are the uses of stained glass lamps today?

These days you can find these types of lamps in less formal setting then what you are used to seeing them in. When you come across them in someone's home they will not be as formal. They come in a very wide range of different styles these days, and when you are looking for one you may want to make sure it matches the style of your home. This means making sure it will not clash with your homes furnishings and background coloring. Making sure that everything is properly coordinated will serve to make having stained glass lamps even more beneficial. The main reason is because if they match the dcor of your home they'll enhance it.

Don't think of these lamps as 'old-fashioned'. Stained glass lamps are not limited to the traditional Tiffany type styles. Today you can find appealing and fascinating lamps in many different styles to match any look.

Learning the art of working with stained glass is a memorable and gratifying accomplishment. And you'll be proud of every piece you create. If you are looking for a hobby or a new vocation, you'll be happy to find that stained glass is easy to learn. And it results in items of beauty that few other crafts can match.

Create your ownstained glass lamps or check our many sources for fully assembled lamps.

Coral beads have the most vivid color to be found among semiprecious stones. They have represented blood and passion as far back as archaeologists can trace. Unquestionably, coral beads make hot, eye catching jewelry, but the intensity of the color can make jewelry designs a bit difficult when factoring in other gemstones. Many new beaders that favor coral stop and realize that all their coral beads are paired with one of three colors: black, white, silver, or more red. So what can be done to make coral jewelry more different and exciting? It might be a surprise that the number of suggestions is staggering.

To start with, a growing fad is to pair coral with turquoise. It's true that bright blue and red can be a little odd, but turquoise has just enough green in it to complement a coral design. The colors will contrast with one another and your jewelry will have a fun, tropical feel to it. But look out since a lot of turquoise beads just aren't as bright as coral beads and can look washed out when you put them together. Try turquoise with black matrix as it will often bring out the color of an otherwise dull shade. To find your best combination, hold a strand of coral beads up to the turquoise you're considering.

If you're really looking to make your jewelry jump out at someone, your best bet is to pair opposites. In this case, we're talking green, and in the gemstone world that means jade or malachite. You'll definitely want to try the ol' flower and leaves combination that coral's been sought after for since the early 1600s. Find coral beads carved into the form of a rose and add jade or malachite beads carved in the form of leaves. Don't always assume that the flower has to be your center piece; put it off to the side if you want. Or add butterflies. Or interweave strands of leaves to make vines. I've even seen small, playful kitten beads added among the foliage. Remember, your design is only as simple as your imagination.

For a jewelry set that matches an earth tone outfit, put apple coral and tigerseye together. Since the red can be more fetching than the brown, a lot of beaders like to use small tigerseye beads as spacers between large apple coral beads. The brown-yellowish color adds just enough neutrality for the jewelry to match many outfits. But be cautious of pairing highly glossy tigerseye beads with more natural-looking coral beads. The glare can cause eyes to focus on the brown instead of the red and make your necklace look strange. The shine of unimportant beads should not compete with your main focus.

There are a variety of other stones that look nice with coral, but I won't mention them. I'll just say that the closer you get to black or white, the more it matches with coral. So dark lapis lazuli, dark amethyst, dark you-name-it is worth holding up to a strand of coral beads. Same goes for the very light stones. Break away from the norm and experiment!

Are you curious about the process of constructing a playhouse? Are you wondering what it takes in order to construct a playhouse? If you are interested in creating a playhouse of an exceptional quality, you should certainly be interested in purchasing playhouse plans.

There are many woodworking plans you can use to construct a playhouse. There are also many different playhouse designs you can utilize if you wish to create a high quality playhouse. Before you can choose the type of playhouse designs you will use, you need to know which type of playhouse you wish to construct.

There are a variety of different playhouses you can build if you are interested in constructing this type of outdoor play equipment. One of the first factors you should decide on is whether or not you want your playhouse to be Victorian styled, a classic styled, modeled after a traditional home, or some other customized design.

Once you know the type of construction you wish to create, you can choose the precise kind of plans that will help you build your construction. When you are choosing your plans, you should keep in mind the fact that you can always hire a carpenter to come in to assist you in constructing your playhouse.

Sometimes people feel restricted when it comes to choosing the type of playhouse plans they should purchase because they do not believe they can construct the playhouses they are looking at. When you think about the fact that you can hire a carpenter to come in for the building of your playhouse, you can truly select any playhouse design you desire to build.

It is also a good idea to remember that you can build two different kinds of playhouses. You can construct a playhouse that rests amongst the trees, or you can build a small house that rests flatly on the ground. You can also choose construction plans that utilize specific themes. If you are building your playhouse on your own though, you should certainly keep in mind that the type of theme you select may affect the complexity and difficulty inherent in the building process of the playhouse itself.

If you do not want to utilize the services of a carpenter, you should always keep in mind the fact that you can purchase playhouse plans that are designed for novice carpenters. If you purchase a set of plans that are designed for carpenters who have no woodworking experience, you can be sure that you will be able to build your new construction on your own. If you are planning on building a construction on your own though, you should still keep in mind the fact that the more complex the plans are, the more difficult it will be for you to bring the plans to life.
