Anomalies (a.k.a. outliers) commonly exist in various real-world scenarios, such as fraud in finance and insurance, intrusion in cybersecurity, fault in safety-critical systems, bushfire early warning, disease outbreak control, fake news, images and videos in social media, and medical diagnosis. Some anomalies could cause disasters that lead to immense economic loss or even deaths unless discovered and dealt with on time. These applications make anomaly analytics increasingly relevant in the modern world. Due to its foremost importance, the study of anomaly detection has a long history and has created a wealth of anomaly detection methods. With the advent of big data, new challenges and questions are introduced, which inspires novel ways of developing algorithms, methods, and techniques to foster the analysis, modeling, interpretation, and prediction as well as detection of anomalies.

Recent years have witnessed rapid growth in the number of academics and practitioners interested in artificial intelligence (AI) for anomaly detection. In particular, various deep learning models have been developed for anomaly detection. In many cases, however, deep models are hard to tune and hard to interpret. In addition, little attention has been paid to other aspects/phases (rather than anomaly detection) of the whole lifecycle of anomaly analytics. On the other hand, the increasing complexity of real-world cyber-physical systems is giving rise to unprecedented challenges facing anomaly analytics.

This special issue aims to promote innovative AI research and development that address key challenges for detecting, describing, modelling, predicting, understanding, suppressing, and eliminating anomalies in various application domains. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Call for Papers

Authors are encouraged to submit previously unpublished research papers in the broad field of content-based multimedia indexing and applications. We wish to highlight significant contributions addressing the main problem of search and retrieval but also the related and equally important issues of multimedia content management, user interaction, large-scale search, learning in retrieval, social media indexing and retrieval.

We are also calling for papers addressing the following special sessions:

The CBMI proceedings are traditionally indexed and distributed by IEEE Xplore and ACM DL. In addition, authors of certain best papers of the conference will be invited to submit extended versions of their contributions to a special issue of a leading journal in the field (e.g. MTAP - Springer).

Call for Demos

We invite authors to report on novel and compelling demonstrations in all topic areas of CBMI. Demonstration papers are subject to peer review according to criteria such as novelty, interestingness, applications of or enhancements to state-of-the-art, and potential impact.

The length of the papers should be up to 4 pages. An additional 1-2 pages should be appended to the paper that illustrate how the demo will be conducted on-site at CBMI. This additional content will not be published in the conference proceedings, should the submission be accepted. We also recommend including a URL linking to a short video (max. 3 min) to accompany the paper that shows the demo in action. The submissions are peer-reviewed in a single-blind process. Presenters are expected to bring the necessary equipment (computers, etc.) themselves. The conference will provide a table, power outlet, screen, wireless (shared) internet and a poster board. If you have special needs (e.g., more space), please include a related note in your demo submission.

OVERVIEW
In the last decade, the spreading of low-cost technologies integrating
sensors and actuators has favored the development of the so-called smart
objects. This trend has been further fostered by the Internet of Things
(IoT), which connects the physical world with Internet via ubiquitous
sensors and actuators. The opportunities offered by the IoT are
amplified by the use of new approaches that, based on novel interaction
paradigms, involve directly non-technical users in configuring the joint
behavior of their smart objects, among them and with online services.

Existing solutions to define the behavior of such "IoT ecosystems" range
from systems that leave the users complete control for establishing the
joint behavior of smart objects, to solutions that automatically define
smart objects behavior exploiting intelligent techniques. In this
continuum, different technologies, frameworks, and approaches present
different levels of user control and automation. In this perspective it
is also important to consider the emerging role played by social and
humanoid robots, which are integrated sets of sensors and actuators with
human-like behaviours.

PARTICIPATION
This will be a one-day workshop, oriented towards discussions, hands-on
sessions, and presentations. We invite submissions of two types: short
papers (3-4 pages) and position papers (1-2 pages). Participants are
asked to submit their paper describing their recent or future work in
one of the areas indicated in the topics of interest. All submissions
must be in the new ACM master article template
(https://chi2022.acm.org/for-authors/).

Papers should be submitted in PDF to Easychair
(https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=empathy2022). All papers will
be reviewed by the organizers and by the program committee based on
relevance and significance in order to provide constructive comments to
the submitters. Reviewing will be double blind (i.e. the submissions
must be anonymized). If accepted, at least one of the authors must
register and attend the workshop. Final versions of the accepted papers
will be published in the CEUR Workshop Proceedings, which is indexed by
Scopus.

* Overview

Conceptual modeling has enjoyed substantial growth over the past decades in diverse fields such as Information Systems Analysis, Software Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Business Analysis and Business Process Engineering. A plethora of conceptual modeling languages, frameworks and systems have been proposed, promising to facilitate activities such as communication, design, documentation, or decision-making. Success in designing a conceptual modeling system is, however, predicated on demonstrably attaining language goals through observing their use in practical scenarios. At the same time, the way individuals and groups produce and consume models gives raise to cognitive, behavioral, organizational, or other phenomena, whose systematic observation may help us better understand how models are used in practice and how we can make them more effective.

* Aim and Topics

We aim at bringing together researchers with an interest in the empirical investigation of conceptual modeling systems and practices. We invite reports on finished, on-going or proposed empirical studies and theoretical, review and experience papers about empirical research in conceptual modeling. Examples of contributions include but are not limited:

. Complete, on-going, or planned empirical studies in Conceptual Modeling.

. Literature Reviews on empirical research in Conceptual Modeling.

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to the program of AIED2022 by submitting your late breaking results. The late-breaking results track offers an opportunity for presenting compelling, preliminary results and innovative work in progress. The goal is to give new, but not necessarily mature work a chance to be seen by other researchers and practitioners and to be discussed at the conference. Accepted submissions will be presented during the conference as posters.
The 23rd international conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education will take place between 27-31 July, 2022 at the University of Durham (UK) and virtually.

AIED2022 will be collocated with EDM2022. Its theme will be:
AI in Education: Bridging the gap between academia, business, and non-profit in preparing future-proof generations towards ubiquitous AI.

The conference sets the ambitious goal to stimulate discussion on how AI has shaped and can shape education for all sectors, how to advance the science and engineering of intelligent interactive learning systems, and how to promote their broad adoption. Engaging with the various stakeholders - researchers, educational practitioners, entrepreneurs, businesses, policy makers, teachers, and students - the conference will set a wider agenda on how novel research ideas can meet practical needs to build effective intelligent human-technology ecosystems that support learning.

The review process will be double-blind review process, meaning that both the authors and reviewers will remain anonymous. The 31st European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS 2023) - 3rd call for tracks

The 31st European Conference on Information Systems will be organized June 11th – 16th 2023, in Kristiansand, Norway, with the theme "Co-creating Sustainable Digital Futures".

We cordially invite fellow researchers to help make ECIS 2023 a timely and relevant meeting place by proposing tracks on their particular field of interest. We aim at accepting 25 tracks.

Each track is to be organised by three chairs. The track chairs should be based in three different countries. The co-chairs team for each track should possess sufficient level of academic seniority, in terms of being recognized in the field (of the track), e.g. through publications, as well as having editorial experience. We highly recommend a gender balanced composition of the co-chairs.

The 12th International Model-Driven Requirements Engineering (MoDRE) workshop continues to provide a forum to discuss the challenges of Model-Driven Development (MDD) for Requirements Engineering (RE). Building on the interest of MDD for design and implementation, RE may benefit from MDD techniques when properly balancing flexibility for capturing varied user needs with formal rigidity required for model transformations as well as high-level abstraction with information richness. MoDRE seeks to explore those areas of RE that have not yet been formalized sufficiently to be incorporated into an MDD environment as well as how RE models can benefit from emerging topics in the model-driven community, such as flexible, collaborative, and AI-enabled modeling. We would like to explore how MoDRE can benefit from research methods and techniques used in other disciplines, such as sociology, as well as how MoDRE can help to ensure human values, ethics, sustainability, equality, and fairness in software systems. We look forward to identifying new challenges for MoDRE, discussing on-going work and potential solutions, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of MDD approaches for RE, fostering stimulating discussions on the topic, and providing opportunities to apply MDD approaches for RE.

The Thirty Fourth International Conference on Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering
Virtual conference at the KSIR Virtual Conference Center, Pittsburgh, PA, USA,
from July 1 to July 10, 2022.

The conference aims at bringing together experts in software engineering and knowledge engineering to discuss on relevant results in either software engineering or knowledge engineering or both. Special emphasis will be put on the transference of methods between both domains. Submission of papers and demos are both welcome.

AIM
This special session in SEKE 2022 pursues to advance on the study of emergent development practices based on the agile -such as Scrum (Sutherland, 2010) and XP (Beck, 1999)- and lightweight -such as the ISO/IEC 29110 standard series (ISO/IEC, 2011)- software development paradigms that provides a valuable alternative to the plan-driven paradigm (Boehm & Turner, 2003; Martinez-Plumed et al., 2019) for developing Big Data Analytics systems used in small and medium-sized business (SMBs).

RATIONALITY
Big Data Analytics (BDA) systems are software systems developed to provide valuable insights to decision-makers exploiting Big Data sources (Laney, 2001; Davoudian & Liu, 2020). Successful BDA systems have been reported in the literature (Davenport, 2006) in diverse domains such as Healthcare, Logistics, Finance, Marketing, Retail, and Education in the last decade.

However, it was recently identified that the systematic development of BDA systems is not usually pursued by organizations, and despite the adaptation of a few comprehensive development methodologies for Data Analytics systems (Martinez et al; 2021) such as CRISP-DM, SEMMA, and KDD, many failed BDA system development projects are frequent (Davenport & Malone, 2021). Consequently, systematic development methodologies for BDA systems have been demanded (Davenport & Bean, 2022).

Given that agile and lightweight development practices use small development teams – between 3 to 10 people-, and mainly address projects of short-term scope – between 1 to 6 months-, and thus of small costs, these plausible practices are highly suitable to be used for small and medium-sized business (SMBs), and ultimately to take advantage of their available Big Data sources for SMBs contexts (Maroufkhani et al., 2020).

TOPICS
This special session invites researchers from the disciplines of Data Science and Software Engineering to submit high-quality conceptual or empirical research manuscripts on agile and lightweight development practices for BDA systems suitable to be used in SMBs. Topics of interest for the special issue include but are not limited to the following ones:

Conceptual studies on frameworks of agile and lightweight tenets and practices for BDA systems.
Conceptual comparative studies between plan-driven development methodologies and agile and lightweight practices for BDA systems.
Statistical survey comparative studies on the implementation of plan-driven development methodologies and agile and lightweight practices for BDA systems.
Statistical survey studies on successful implementation models of agile and lightweight practices for BDA systems.
Case studies on successful and failed BDA systems using agile and lightweight practices for BDA systems.
Simulation studies – system dynamics, discrete event, agent-based or hybrid- on project development models of agile and lightweight practices for BDA systems.

Authors are encouraged to submit previously unpublished research papers in
the broad field of content-based multimedia indexing and applications. We
wish to highlight significant contributions addressing the main problem of
search and retrieval but also the related and equally important issues of
multimedia content management, user interaction, large-scale search,
learning in retrieval, social media indexing and retrieval.

We are also calling for papers addressing the following special sessions:

Authors can submit full length (6 pages - to be presented as oral
presentation) or short papers (4 pages - to be presented as posters). The
submissions are peer reviewed in a single blind process. The language of the
conference is English. The CBMI proceedings are traditionally indexed and
distributed by IEEE Xplore and ACM DL. In addition, authors of certain best
papers of the conference will be invited to submit extended versions of
their contributions to a special issue of a leading journal in the field
(e.g. MTAP - Springer).

* Call for Demo Papers

We invite authors to report on novel and compelling demonstrations in all
topic areas of CBMI. Demonstration papers are subject to peer review
according to criteria such as novelty, interestingness, applications of or
enhancements to state-of-the-art, and potential impact.

The length of the papers should be up to 4 pages. An additional 1-2 pages
should be appended to the paper that illustrate how the demo will be
conducted on-site at CBMI. This additional content will not be published in
the conference proceedings, should the submission be accepted. We also
recommend including a URL linking to a short video (max. 3 min) to accompany
the paper that shows the demo in action. The submissions are peer-reviewed
in a single-blind process. Presenters are expected to bring the necessary
equipment (computers, etc.) themselves. The conference will provide a table,
power outlet, screen, wireless (shared) internet and a poster board. If you
have special needs (e.g., more space), please include a related note in your
demo submission.

A socio-technical perspective sees an organization as a combination of two components – a social and a technical one. The real pattern of behaviour in the organization is determined by how well these parts fit each other. While analyzing system problems of getting things done, adequate consideration should be given to technology as well as informal and formal interactions f people.

Despite that a socio-technical perspective has been around for over a half century, it is often forgotten in the IS discourse today. Consequently, many "new approaches" appear to reflect on IS systems problems, such as modern IT systems poorly adjusted to the external or/and internal environment (e.g., market, organizational culture) of organizations in which they are (to be) deployed. We strongly believe that it is high time the social-technical perspective took its proper place in IS research, practice, and teaching.

* Position papers: raising relevant questions in the workshop area, identifying problems, and providing a glimpse of solution for a given problem and these papers are typically short. Representing a basis for discussion, a position paper does not necessarily need to include solutions to its stated problems.
* Idea papers: exploring the history, successes, and challenges of IS development from a socio-technical perspective. Contrary to position papers, idea papers should provide the in-depth analysis of a problem, review its existing solutions, demonstrate insufficiency of these solutions, and suggest new (not yet evaluated but well argued) solutions.
* Experience reports: presenting challenges encountered in practice, success, and failure stories. An experience report should clearly describe the working context and be focused on the problems and on the lessons learned.

The main purpose of the conference is to arrange discussions on using a socio-technical perspective in organizational systems development, the long-term goal being to make this workshop a meeting place for the community of researchers and practitioners interested in the socio-technical approach.

The conference will take place over two full days. We will focus on engaging academics, researchers and practitioners through a keynote presentation and discussion, paper presentations, and panel discussion. There will be time to focus on connections between scholars using socio-technical approaches in information systems research and stimulate discourse to build collaborations.

The International Workshop on Metaverse and Artificial Companions in Education and Society (MetaACES 2022) will be held on 24 June 2022 in a fully online mode.

MetaACES 2022 aims to provide an interactive platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and professionals in the education sector to share and exchange research agenda, innovative ideas as well as practices of promoting and exploring metaverse and related technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Extended Reality (ER), Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), Internet of Thing (IoT), Robotics, Blockchain, Non-Fungible Token (NFT), Cloud Computing and so on. MODELS is the premier conference series for model-based software and systems engineering. Since 1998, MODELS has covered all aspects of modeling, from languages and methods, to tools and applications. Attendees of MODELS come from diverse backgrounds, including researchers, academics, engineers, and industrial professionals. MODELS 2022 is a forum for participants to exchange cutting-edge research results and innovative practical experiences around modeling, modeling languages, and model-based software and systems engineering.

This year's edition will provide an opportunity for the modeling community to further advance the foundations of modeling, and come up with innovative applications of modeling in emerging areas of cyber-physical systems, embedded systems, socio-technical systems, cloud computing, big data, machine learning, security, open source, and sustainability.

For this year's edition, the conference has the special theme "Modeling for social good" #MDE4SG. Thus, we especially encourage contributions where model-based engineering intersects with research and applications on, not exclusively, socio-technical systems, tools with social impact, integrating human values, data science, artificial intelligence, digital twins, Industry/Society 5.0, and intelligent systems in general.

**** FOUNDATIONS TRACK ****

We invite authors to submit high quality contributions describing

significant, original, and unpublished results in the following

categories:

1. Technical Papers

Technical papers should describe innovative research in modeling or

model-driven engineering activities. Papers in this submission category

should describe a novel contribution to the field and should carefully

support claims of novelty with citations to the relevant literature.

Evaluation Criteria:

Technical papers are evaluated on the basis of originality, soundness,

relevance, importance of contribution, strength of validation, quality

of presentation and appropriate comparison to related work. Where a

submission builds upon previous work of the author(s), the novelty of

the new contribution must be described clearly with respect to the

previous work. Technical papers need to discuss clearly how the results

were validated (e.g., formal proofs, controlled experiments, rigorous

case studies, or simulations). Authors are strongly encouraged to make

the artifacts used for the evaluation publicly accessible, e.g., through

a Github repository or an alternative that is likely to remain

available. There will be an artifact evaluation process, as discussed

below.

2. New Ideas and Vision Papers

We solicit short papers that present new ideas and visions. Such papers

may describe new, non-conventional model-driven engineering research

positions or approaches that depart from standard practice. They can

describe well-defined research ideas that are at an early stage of

investigation. They could also provide new evidence that common wisdom

should be challenged, present new unifying theories about existing

modeling research that provides novel insight or that can lead to the

development of new technologies or approaches, or apply modeling

technology to radically new application areas.

Evaluation Criteria:

New ideas and vision papers will be assessed primarily on their level of

originality and potential for impact on the field in terms of promoting

innovative thinking. Hence, inadequacies in the state-of-the-art and the

pertinence, correctness, and impact of the idea/vision must be described

clearly, even though the new idea need not be fully worked out, and a

fully detailed roadmap need not be presented. Authors are strongly encouraged
to make the artifacts used for the evaluation publicly accessible, e.g., through

a Github repository or an alternative that is likely to remain available.
There will be an artifact evaluation process, as discussed below.

**** PRACTICE AND INNOVATION TRACK

The goal of the Practice and Innovation (P&I) Track is to fill the gap between foundational research in model-based engineering (MBE) and industrial needs. We invite authors from academia and/or industry to submit original contributions reporting on the development of innovative MBE solutions in industries, public sector, or open-source settings, as well as innovative application of MBE in such contexts. Examples include:

A paper in the P&I Track will be evaluated mainly from its practical take-away and the potential impact of the findings. More specifically,

**** Artefact Evaluation

After the notification, the authors of accepted papers will be invited to submit their accompanying artifacts (e.g., software, datasets, proofs) to the Artifact Evaluation track to be evaluated by the Artifact Evaluation Committee. Participation in the Artifact Evaluation process is optional and does not affect the final decision regarding the acceptance of papers. Papers that successfully go through the Artifact Evaluation process will be rewarded with a seal of approval included in the papers.

**** Special Issue in SoSyM

Authors of best papers from the conference will be invited to revise and submit extended versions of their papers for publication in the Journal of Software and Systems Modeling.

CALL FOR PAPERS

The European Conference on Technology-Enhanced Learning (EC-TEL) engages researchers, practitioners, educational developers, entrepreneurs, industry leaders and policy makers to address current challenges and advances in the field. EC-TEL 2022 will take place on 12-16 September 2022 in Toulouse, France with the theme "Educating for a new future: Making sense of technology-enhanced learning adoption".

We invite contributions for research papers, posters, demonstrations, as well as workshops. A doctoral consortium will be organised concurrently with the workshops. The topics of interest for the conference can be found here.

Submission Formats

Research papers, posters and demonstrations, as well as Doctoral Consortium (DC) submissions will be handled through EasyChair. Apart from the DC submissions, all papers will be reviewed through a double blind review process, i.e. authors must upload their papers without any reference to themselves or their institutions.

Accepted research, poster and demo papers will be published in the conference proceedings. As every year, the proceedings will be published within Springer "Lecture Notes in Computer Science" (LNCS) Series. The use of supplied template is mandatory: https://www.springer.com/de/it-informatik/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines. Authors should consult Springer's authors' guidelines and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX (Overleaf template) or for Word, for the preparation of their papers. Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. In addition, the corresponding author of each paper, acting on behalf of all of the authors of that paper, must complete and sign a Consent-to-Publish form. The corresponding author signing the copyright form should match the corresponding author marked on the paper. Once the files have been sent to Springer, changes relating to the authorship of the papers cannot be made.

Workshop proposals will be handled separately and submissions will be done using another system as specified below.

Doctoral Consortium papers will be published in CEUR Workshop Proceedings (CEUR-WS) and authors have to comply with the CEUR template.

· Research Papers: 8-14 pages, published in LNCS Springer Conference Proceedings.

· Poster Papers: max. 5 pages (published in LNCS Springer Conference Proceedings). If the paper is accepted, authors will be required to prepare an additional page describing their work. This page will not be published in the proceedings, but it will be used to organize the sessions.

· Demonstration Papers: max. 5 pages (published in LNCS Springer Conference Proceedings). If the paper is accepted, authors will be required to prepare an additional page describing their work. This page will not be published in the proceedings, but it will be used to organize the sessions.

· Workshop proposals: online form (see subsection), not published in proceedings. Submissions will be handled independently by the workshop organisers, who will define the submission procedure.

· Doctoral Consortium papers: 5-10 pages, published in CEUR DC Proceedings

Research Papers

Research papers for EC-TEL 2022 should be 8-14 pages long. No matter the length, research papers are expected to be mature research contributions to the field of technology-enhanced learning. Research papers should clearly define research objectives and questions. In addition, research papers should discuss the state-of-the-art in the area in which the work is framed, how the new proposal advances the state of the art, present an appropriate research methodology, as well as present and discuss the results of the research conducted. Preliminary results or work in progress fit very well in the poster paper category. Research papers should highlight their novelty and contribution to the field. Note that it is important for EC-TEL 2022 research papers to consider both technology and learning.

Posters

Posters report on significant work-in-progress research and developments.Theoretical and practice-oriented contributions are welcomed. Please submit papers of maximum 5 pages, including theoretical background, description of your work, preliminary results, and references. Poster papers will be published in the EC-TEL 2022 proceedings if accepted.

In case your paper is accepted, poster authors will be asked to complete a given form useful for organizing and delivering the poster sessions accordingly.

Demonstrations

Demo papers are expected to describe innovative TEL applications, practices and prototypes aligned with the conference theme and topics (e.g. dashboards, recommender systems, chatbots, practice-oriented contributions, etc.). Demo papers will be published in the EC-TEL 2022 proceedings if accepted. Please submit papers of maximum 5 pages, including :

· Pedagogical / Technological background

· Description of the application/ practice/ prototype / use case to demonstrate its relevance

· Results and outcomes achieved

· Future agenda / next steps

In case your paper is accepted, demonstration authors will be asked to complete a given form useful for organizing and delivering the demonstration sessions accordingly.

General instructions for research, poster, and demonstration

Authors have to make a choice as to which conference track they apply to: Research, Demonstration, or Poster. Submitting the same work to more than one track is not allowed. The different tracks have different submission formats and review criteria. Double submissions will be rejected without review, but if you are a single research group or institution, you may submit more than one work that provides new insights on different aspects of the same project. Workshops

EC-TEL 2022 offers the opportunity to host half-day or full-day workshops. EC-TEL workshops are intended for in-depth discussion of important topics in the field of technology-enhanced learning. EC-TEL invites proposals to organise workshops that will focus on interactive exchange of ideas and experiences between researchers and practitioners in the field.

Topics and formats that focus on bridging the gap between academia and business are especially welcomed. Workshops may include (but are not limited to) paper presentations, collaborative discussions, sharing a practical experience, putting forward a "real case", tutorial sessions, etc.

Potential organisers interested in coordinating a workshop are requested to submit a proposal by filling out a form (will be published later), no later than 4 May 2022. Proposals should explain why the topic of a workshop will be interesting to the EC-TEL community and how it may advance the field as a whole. Successful proposals will be confirmed by 18 May 2022. More information on the submission of workshop proposals can be found on the specific section of the EC-TEL 2022 website.

Doctoral consortium

Statement on Open Science

As in previous years, we want to encourage Open Science within the EATEL research community. We therefore encourage authors to document their research in a reproducible and verifiable manner, and in general to use Open Science best practices. Two best practices that we specifically would be happy to see in EC-TEL 2022 research papers are:

· Pre-registration. Results from empirical studies are more robust when researchers predefine a research and analysis plan and register it before data collection. To do so, we encourage authors to use services like AsPredicted (aspredicted.org) and the Open Science Framework (OSF) to preregister their research so that confirmatory and exploratory analyses can be better evaluated. The research manuscript should then include a link to the preregistration document.

· Sharing data and code for replication purposes. Sharing data sources (always anonymised!) as well as the scripts or programs you used to analyse them can help other researchers to replicate or extend your analysis. We encourage authors to share this information by providing a link to the data and code in the manuscript.

Best papers, and additional selected papers, get an invite to IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies to publish there with 30% new content and if these papers contain design-relevant knowledge as envisioned by the journal.

Quantum communication researchers have achieved significant progress during the recent decades and quantum networking has shown promise in terms of improving the overall functional benefits of the Internet and enabling applications with no counterpart in the classical world. It is a breakthrough technology towards the unimaginable future. In a quantum network, the source and destination may be connected by quantum repeaters/routers for facilitating qubit transmissions. The quantum network of the future is envisaged to pervade the entire globe, relying on terrestrial components, satellites, airplanes, ships and other vehicles. It is anticipated that it will support nearly unconditional security, super-computing power, large network capacity – even at high velocity - and privacy.

In the current era, quantum networks are similar to the early stage of the classical Internet in the 1970s. However, they exhibit fundamentally different features, obeying the uncertainty principle, the non-orthogonal indistinguishable theorem, the quantum non-cloning theorem, entanglement and superposition. These constraining features make the design of quantum networks a challenging task. To make the promise of quantum networking a reality, the entire protocol stack spanning from the physical-layer enabling techniques to the application layer requires a dedicated collaborative effort from a large fraction of the engineering and physics community.

This Special Issue focuses on recent advances in quantum communications and networking, and we seek original contributions in quantum networking architectures, concepts, protocols, and technologies in support of long-distance qubit transmissions and novel network applications. Interdisciplinary thinking is a key success factor for any community. "Exploring Future Computing" is the motto of the 22nd I4CS, to be held from June 13 until 15, 2022 in Delft/The Netherlands, dedicated to challenging aspects around modern community systems, services, and applications.

Theme and Topics
----------------
Agile architecture does not necessarily emerge from the use of agile
development practices, it needs to be deliberately sought after. This
often means creating systems as sets of small, independent components
that collaborate to provide the desired functionality. Such components
are usually loosely-coupled and expose well-defined APIs that are
accessible over standard communication protocols and data formats---they
can be individually developed and tested, they can be easily replaced by
alternative implementations if needed, and they provide great
flexibility when deploying and scaling the system.

This style of architecture is often described as **microservices**.
Essentially, microservices decompose a system into an architecture of
standalone modules that (i) are simpler to maintain and evolve; (ii)
scale efficiently; and (iii) can be reused as building blocks for other
architectures. Transitioning to a microservice architecture is crucial
for companies in highly-competing markets, where agility and flexibility
of software systems become a critical asset to establish leadership.

While microservices are a solution for scalability, maintainability, and
evolvability, they come at a cost:
an increased complexity that calls for an improvement of the current
techniques for software construction and advanced engineering practices.

The AMP workshop aims at collecting experiences on microservice
adoption, reporting best practises, but also specially failure cases, so
as to build community knowledge based on previous errors and successes.
The workshop is open to experience reports from practitioners and
academia. The third edition of AMP aims to continue the success of its
previous editions at XP2020 [1] and XP2021 [2] in collecting original
work on the science and engineering of programming microservices. The
topics include (but are not limited to):

- Using microservices to enable an evolutive and agile architecture.
- Software engineering methods and tools for microservices.
- Patterns for microservices design and development.
- Operations practises for microservices and DevOps support.
- Impact of microservices' usage on agile teams and processes.
- Programming languages and techniques for microservices.
- Combining microservices with other architectural styles.
- Achieving software qualities, e.g., security, maintainability, and
deployability.
- Metrics and software analytics in microservices architectures.
- Verification of microservice architectures.
- Test-driven approaches and testing in microservices development.
- Refactoring in the context of microservices architectures.
- Empirical studies on microservices.
- Experience reports on microservice adoption and teaching.

Contributions and Evaluation

AMP 2022 seeks original contributions of the following types:

- Full papers: research papers, industry case studies (from 6 to 8
pages, including references)
- Extended Abstracts: tool presentations, position papers (2 pages,
including references)

All submissions must be in English, conform to the Springer LNBIP format
and must be submitted through EasyChair at
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=xp2022.

Peer groups with expertise in the workshop focus area will review
submissions. The Program Committee will select full papers and extended
abstracts for presentation at the workshop. Revised and selected
contributions will be included in a separate volume of the XP 2022
conference proceedings published by Springer LNBIP. To this end, one of
the authors attending XP 2022 must present the work at the workshop.

Description:

This session aims to explore insights in socio-technical behavior between social actors and technical artifacts within digital social networks (incl. implementation of socio-technological approaches, computational methods, and theoretical aspects of digital sociology). Contributions in the session consider basic, empirical, and methodological issues. This SocioTechNet session should contribute to open up a new perspective on the field of socio-technical network research. Moving toward this perspective promotes the development of new research frameworks, theoretical, and methodological concepts. This session will offer a forum to present contributions on the field of socio-technological networks by focusing on data collection, computational methods, visualization and the use of innovative technology (incl. artificial intelligence (AI)) for socio-technical assessments. Innovative approaches of network research within a broader area of digital social networks are welcome. We invite abstract submissions that contribute to the consolidation of network research in the field of socio-technical networks. The session is organized as a set of paper presentations in terms of the number of twenty-minute slots.

SLERD 2022 is organized by University Politehnica of Bucharest in collaboration with ASLERD.

Please Note: The intention of the organizing committee is to hold SLERD 2022 as a hybrid conference with the possibility to alternatively attend it physically or virtually.

If the pandemic is not attenuated, SLERD will take place in a fully blown virtual conference format such as the previous two editions of SLERD.

Short Intro

After the shock of the pandemic, learning ecosystems – and in particular schools, universities, and territorial learning communities – all over the world – are facing a new phase characterized by the search for and the experimentation of ways to their "new normality". This is within a world that seeks to protect at best and incentivize the economic recovery that although relevant is still subjected to enormous risks. Among the main areas on which most of the industrialized countries and Europe are focusing on, there are: the transitions towards a green and circular economy, smart digitization of the production processes, social innovation, active citizen participation supported by technologies, and, finally, the education for all. In such a context, collaboration is emerging as an approach and an attitude of considerable relevance that stays also at the basis of the polyphonic construction of the future of learning ecosystems.

Alongside collaboration, on the technological side, it continues to rise the relevance of intelligent systems, generically collected under the label of Artificial Intelligence (AI); concurrently, on the pedagogical side, competences have become the goal of future education, also in the attempt to close the skill gap, which represents one of the greatest dangers for the transition towards smarter productive systems and societies.

Competences and AI, by the way, are also topics that intersect and influence each other and rise questions of ethical nature. Last but not least, they are likely to require an organizational and didactic revolution of the learning ecosystems, thus requiring to question the possible consequences in order to build a more adequate future. In turn, this step requires inspiration from best practices to leverage the advantage of the growth of individuals and the expectations of the communities.

What should we expect for future learning ecosystems? How "smart learning ecosystems" are changing? How such changes may be related to the achievement of "a better learning for a better world" as a contribution to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ? How will they contribute to the reduction of inequalities and, at the same time, to the empowering of each individual according to his expectations and talents?

Smart referred to learning ecosystems, in ASLERD and SLERD contexts, does not simply means "technology enhanced". The smartness is a more complex multilayered construct related to the wellbeing of the players operating in the ecosystems and is affected by the improvement of any relevant aspects of the learning processes and ecosystem functioning, especially if connected with territorial development and social innovation.
Technologies are mediators. Hopefully they should be included but they are not a "sine qua non".
The achievement of the learning ecosystems' smartness is a process that need a long term vision, multidisciplinary competences, an attitude to understand people and contexts and to mediate point of views, a dynamic resilience to keep on track to achieve, step by step, the foreseen goals.

The Business Process Modeling, Development and Support (BPMDS) working
conference has been held for more than two decades, dealing with, and

This year's topic theme, "Reflections on human-human interaction and
responsibility in a virtual environment" reflects the abundance of
virtual environments in all domains of our lives. Technologies are here.
Are we ready to use those technologies in an extremely connected world
where false information spreads faster than the true one with
detrimental consequences? Are we mature enough to process the
information as fast as the computers provide them? What is the meaning
of a "like" in a professional environment when the "thing" which has
been "liked" was not precisely read or understood? How should we enhance
business process engineering, modeling, and management to master this
increasing complexity? How could/should human-computer interfaces
support the issues related to increasing reflexes (fast clicks) to the
detriment of reflection? A pilot who is using a flight simulator during
her training is aware that this is a virtual and fictitious platform,
and she is confident that she will use the competencies she is acquiring
in this virtual and fictitious environment, later in the physical world;
the new competencies will be partly due to the mistakes made using the
flight simulator. On the opposite, is the surfer, who likes or comments
in an online social network, totally aware that she acts in the "real
world" (not a fictitious one) when she clicks? Is she aware of her
responsibility?

Virtual does not mean fictitious. Using virtual environments expands our
capabilities/frontiers of action in the real world ("real" in opposition
to "fictitious"). E.g., using voice-based assistants such as Amazon
Alexa allows integrating people who have been excluded (because of their
handicap) by graphical user interfaces from using software systems so
far. Digital technologies enable the creation of new business models.
E.g. platforms such as Airbnb integrate huge numbers of external
resources. An important factor to accomplish this is the provisioning of
information on these resources and evaluating their quality. Both can
only be accomplished by collecting this information with digital means.
Consequently, we are more and more drastically responsible for what we
produce as information.

Organizations and the world are going through huge transformations due,
in large part, to information technologies and their direct and indirect
impacts. These transformations impact frontally the information systems,
which support the business processes of organizations, and therefore the
actors in carrying out their activities/missions. The speed of
organizational and societal transformations requires continuous
improvement and innovation processes. Creativity and responsibility are
determining factors and require detailed and multi-faceted knowledge of
the problem to handle and of the context. The unpredictability of the
related transformations (and more particularly their detrimental
effects) requires more than ever a systemic vision in the (i)
engineering and governance of information systems and (ii) in the
engineering and architecture of business processes ecosystems the latter
have to support.

The opportunities for evolution and transformation assume the ability to
capture, store, organize, search and analyze large volumes of
information and put us in front of many new challenges: meeting and
mastering the requirements of volume, speed, variety, veracity, the
value of data, comply with data protection laws, and be fully aware of
(and responsible for) the components of the new VUCA world (volatility,
uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity). We are all responsible as
engineers, researchers, professors, and citizens. We need human
intelligence more than ever.

Prospective conference participants are invited to submit a paper that
concerns the topics mentioned above and all other topics related to
business process modeling, development, and support. Three categories of
submissions are welcome:

(1) Full research papers (technical papers or empirical evaluation
papers) should report results in an advanced stage, including at least
partial evaluation.

(2) Experience reports present work completed or being completed in the
context of a real-life organization. The work should have some practical
goals, and present lessons learned that can be applied in a generalized
context.

(3) Idea papers related to the focus theme "Reflections on human-human
interaction and responsibility in a virtual environment"; should address
completely new research positions or approaches, demonstrating the
shortcomings of current methods, tools, meta-models, etc.

Full papers with up to 15 pages long or short papers with up to 8 pages
can be submitted to these categories. The work must be unpublished and
must not be under review elsewhere.

Education is the cornerstone of any society and it serves as one of the foundations for many of its social values and characteristics. State-of-the-art and novel methodologies and technologies allow researchers, designers, and domain experts to pursue Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) solutions targeting not only cognitive processes but also motivational, personality, or emotional factors. Nowadays, we can identify two main legs, providing necessary and complementary strengths to a TEL-oriented design process: appropriate technologies should be applied, and appropriate methods should guide the design of such application. Technologies in TEL are capable of delivering smart, personalized, tailored, and motivating learning solutions. Methods are coming from different fields, such as education, psychology, medicine, computer science, and from diverse communities, where collaboration and co-working are used, such as maker communities and participatory design communities. In addition, Learning Analytics can help manage available (big) data and augment learning opportunities for learners and educators alike, for instance by supporting self-regulated learning or adaptation of the learning material.

As to these topics, the annual appointment of MIS4TEL established itself as a consolidated fertile forum where scholars and professionals from the international community, with a broad range of expertise in the TEL field, share results and compare experiences. The 12th edition of the conference calls for novel research in TEL and expands the topics of the previous editions, highlighting the role of the most recent methods and technological opportunities. As in the tradition of MIS4TEL, this edition aims at offering the different perspectives, and complementary voices, coming from the multidisciplinary field of TEL.

MIS4TEL welcomes the submission of papers with preference to the topics listed in the call for papers. All submitted papers will undergo a thorough review process. Each contribution will be refereed by three experts in the field using the following set of criteria; relevance, originality, significance, quality, and clarity.

The papers must consist of original, relevant, and previously unpublished sound research efforts related to any of the topics of the conference.

# Publication #

Accepted papers will be included in the MIS4TEL Proceedings published by LNNS series of Springer Verlag (http://www.springer.com/series/15179). At least one of the authors will be required to register for MIS4TEL and to attend the Conference in order to present their paper and to have it included in the conference proceedings.

With more than 800 attendees, Mensch und Computer is one of the biggest conferences on Human-Computer Interaction in Europe. Each year, the conference attracts participants from academia and industry, with the program consisting of a scientific track "Mensch-Computer Interaktion (MCI) / Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)" and a practitioner's track "Usability Professionals" (UP).

Full papers need to make a compelling scientific contribution, and are expected to present novel research results. Accepted full papers will be published in the ACM Digital Library, and will be listed in the GI Digital Library. Authors of accepted submissions are expected to present their work at the conference. There is no page limit for full papers, but the length needs to be commensurate with the contribution of the work. All submissions need to be anonymous, and will receive at least three reviews.

Theme and Topics

The theme of this edition is aspects of microservices in the age of
digital transformation.

- On the one hand, the adoption of microservices is fostering the
adoption of new architectural patterns and software construction
practices; understanding the security properties (or the emerging
vulnerabilities) of the resulting constructs calls for the development
of a fresh mindset in analysts, designers and testers alike. In
addition, the additional middleware and infrastructure typically
proposed for the management of microservice-based architectures could
expand the attack surface of the systems.

- On the other hand, microservices are often adopted as an accelerator
of digital transformations. Some of the opportunities in microservices
involve the development of sustainable practices, the application of
artificial intelligence and machine learning, and new architectures and
technologies. In this light, addressing the complexity of digital
transformation should be a primary concern for microservices researchers
and practitioners, while improving/enhancing microservices principles,
patterns, architectures, security, and technologies.

We are interested in all aspects and phases of the design and
implementation of microservice architectures:

Authors wishing to present their work are invited to submit extended
abstracts following the submission guidelines. Abstracts and
presentations must be in English.

Submissions Guidelines
----------------------

A submission should describe a talk to be given at the conference in the
form of extended abstracts with a maximum of two pages for talks from
industry and six pages for academic presentations (including references).

Submissions can be based on work in progress, scientific work published
or submitted for publication, practical experience reports, or practical
tool demonstrations.

Selected contributions will be invited to submit manuscripts based on
their abstracts for conference post proceedings.

They must further be prepared using the EasyChair template (LaTeX, MS
Word), be in PDF format, printable in black and white on A4 paper, and
interpretable by common PDF tools. Submissions must be in English.

Contributions will be reviewed and selected by the Program Committee.
Extended abstracts of accepted contributions will be available
electronically before the conference.

Track Description and Topics of Interest

Advanced learning technologies keep transforming what people learn, how
they learn it, and how they access learning opportunities in formal and
informal contexts. As the educational landscape evolves, learning gets
more structured around flexible curricula that accommodate the needs of
diverse student audiences, and educational organizations that offer
services for accessing educational content and resources through a variety
of platforms, devices, and learning contexts. Applying personalized
learning by adapting the educational experience to learners' preferences,
needs, and background becomes critical in this framework. The challenge
concerns providing an alternative to the "one-size-fits-all" approach in
designing learning technologies and technology enhanced educational
interventions, taking into consideration individual differences among
learners and the various contexts within which learning will take place.
Personalization strategies need to emerge considering the pedagogical
perspective of personalized learning along with the complementary role of
technology and the appropriate adjustment to the educational context. The
aim is to maximize learner satisfaction, learning retention and efficiency
of the learning process. Personalization can occur at individual and
group/community levels, whereby intelligent and adaptive technologies are
integrated to empower socially-grounded learning experiences.

APTeL@ICALT2022 explores different dimensions of adaptation and
personalization, including learner modelling and adaptation mechanisms, as
well as personalization strategies, design techniques, implementation
approaches, and experimental validations. A main issue that is expected to
be addressed in this forum is the impact of adaptive and personalized
learning environments in real educational (formal or informal) contexts,
focusing on how these environments can be integrated into the educational
process to enhance and promote efficient personalized learning cycles.
"What can we adapt to?", "What can be adapted?", "How can we collect and
process relevant data?", "What is the impact of adaptation?", "How
technology-enhanced adaptive environments may promote personalized
learning in real contexts?", "How are learners profiled and how do they
