Movie Munchies - Popcorn and Pretzel

I apologize for the poor pictures, when we moved I got rid of my lightbox (aka cardboard box and poster board) that I always used to take pictures.  So, I had to make do.  Now, as a disclaimer, the popcorn made from this pattern is small…as in smaller than an inch…so keep away from small children’s mouths please!  Thanks =)

Size “E” (3.5 mm) Hook
Size “F” (4.0 mm) Hook
Needle
Worsted weight yarn in white, light
yellow, red, brown
Stitch Marker

Abbreviations:
Ch: Chain
Dec: Decrease
Inc: Increase
Sc: Single Crochet

Popcorn
Light yellow or white yarn
Size “E” hook
Worked in continuous round
Round 1: Ch 2, sc 6 into second chain from hook
Round 2: Inc in each (12)
Round 3: * Sc, inc * 6 times (18)
Round 4: * Sc, dec * 6 times (12)
Round 5: Dec around (6)
Round 6: * 4 dc into next, slip stitch * 3 times
Bind off and weave in ends

Popcorn Tub
Red and white yarn
Size “F” hook
Worked back and forth
With white yarn, ch 21
Row 1: Sc in second chain from hook and across, ch 1 and turn (20)
Row 2-4: Sc across, ch 1 and turn
Switch to red yarn
Row 5-8: Sc across, ch 1 and turn
Switch to white yarn
Row 9-12: Sc across, ch 1 and turn
Switch to Red yarn
Row 13-16: Sc across, ch 1 and turn
Switch to White yarn
Row 17-20: Sc across, ch 1 and turn
Switch to Red yarn

Tub Bottom:
White yarn
Size “F” hook
Worked in continuous round
Round 1: Ch 2, sc 6 into second chain from hook
Round 2: Inc in each (12)
Round 3: * Sc, inc * 6 times (18)
Round 4: * Sc 2, inc * 6 times (24)
Round 5: * Sc 3, inc * 6 times (30)
Round 6: * Sc 4, inc * 6 times (36)
Round 7: * Sc 5, inc * 6 times (42)
Bind off leaving long tail for sewing
Assembly:
Line up the edges of the popcorn tub so that it forms a tube, stitch together. Stitch the bottom on and
fill with popcorn.

Pretzel:
Brown yarn
Size “F” hook
Worked back and forth
Chain 76
Row 1-5: Sc across
Bind off and weave in ends
Line up the edges so that it forms a small tube, stitch together.

Assembly:
Lay the tube in a “U” shape. Take the two ends and twist them together until they return to their
original starting places. Fold the pretzel in half and stitch the ends in place.

My family is now moved and mostly unpacked! The house we moved to is much larger than our old one, which means I get a room for all my crafting stuff =) I now have all my yarn and crochet hooks accessible, and I’m ready to start crocheting again! What am I going to make you ask? Washcloths! I seem to have lost several during the move and need to replace them. Fortunately those don’t take to long so I’ll be able to whip up a several in the next day or two and then it’s back to making fun stuff!
Speaking of fun stuff, as I mentioned before, my one year anniversary was this month. Keep an eye out for a contest soon!
