Chicken Curry
Deviled Eggs
Cheese wraps

Here’s the recipe for Deviled Eggs:

There are lots of deviled egg recipes out there. I took all my favorite ingredients for deviled eggs and made my own.

6 hard boiled eggs (immerse in cold water and heat until boiling. Boil for at least 5 minutes. Turn off heat and let sit for another 5 to 10 minutes in the hot water. Peel.)

1 strip of chopped, cooked bacon (preferably from a butcher shop that has center cut, double smoked bacon)
1 tablespoon finely minced onion
2 tablespoons finely minced celery
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Miracle Whip
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Mix the bacon, onion, celery, mayonnaise and Miracle whip in a bowl. Add the cooked egg yolks and mash together well. Drop the mix with a teaspoon into the eggs and sprinkle with paprika.

I bought a Meyer’s Lemon Tree in the fall. It started blooming right away. We move it into the garage during cold nights. The warm weather has been back for a few days and the bees are busy at work pollinating the flowers. The blossoms smell reminds me of plumeria, rather than the citrus smell I hoped for. But I’m not choosey. I enjoy the fragrance every time I’m in the yard. And those bees are going to be a huge boon to my veggie garden when it gets going. They *love* the tree.

Check out this close-up of the bee. Look closely. That yellow next to his body–that’s the pollen Mr. Bee has collected. If you watch a bee closely, you can see them gather the pollen with their front appendages and push it onto their back legs. When they are loaded up, they fly back to their hive.

Yes, I spend a lot of time watching these fascinating creatures fly and push pollen. It’s so amazing to me. Sometimes when they leave the tree, you can tell a difference in the way they fly (lower and slower) because they are weighted down by the pollen. Their legs look a lot like this when pollinating cucumber plants–they arrive with brown legs and leave with bright yellow ones, one back leg on each side of their body full of their harvest.

Go little Bees! Welcome to spring and stop by my garden anytime!

The beets are up and possibly turnips. I don’t know what turnip sprouts look like so I’m not sure. Could be weeds, too early to tell. The lettuce is coming along–we’re up to third leaf on a lot of the sprouts. The poor snap peas. Only about half of them look good, so I planted some directly outside even though it’s a little early. I used a different packet. I’m just not sure the first two tries had what it takes. We’ll see how it goes. The one that I did plant outside at the same time as the pots is doing the best and it’s half in the shade!

No flowers from this year’s seeds are up. The bluebonnets are starting to appear (the plants, not the actual flowers.) If we get rain a couple more times, it will be a beautiful spring. I need to have husband mow because if the California poppy seeds sprout, I’m not going to want him mowing back there. Won’t he be surprised.

The onions are coming along. They are starting to look more like onions and a few of the green onions that I planted two weeks ago are up. I transplanted them (no matter how well I spread them, they all float to a single spot and come up there.)

Keeping fingers crossed and everything well-watered!!!

You can borrow it for free (borrowing must be done direct from your Kindle device and you must be an Amazon Prime Member). Snitched, Snatched is in English first and then translated to Spanish:

When a spell goes wrong, can Zoe unwind it before it’s too late?
In Black-Tie Dance you’ll find an undercover caper that sends an agent running for his life, dangling from a windowsill and visiting the morgue. Let’s hope he makes it out of there alive.

Bingo: Not your ordinary deal with the devil.

These stories are exclusive to Amazon for 90 days. If you aren’t an Amazon prime member, the stories only cost 99 cents, but if you are a member and haven’t yet borrowed anything this month, they are quick, fun reads.

So a long time ago, in a different city, I was walking into the grocery store, hand on my purse strap like they tell you to do, when some guy walked past and ripped my purse off my arm. Poor bugger. I didn’t have even a dime in it. I mean, not even a penny. My car keys were in my pocket or other hand, I don’t remember which. I wished him well as he ran off using a screech that might have rattled some nearby windows. It’s possible I wasn’t wishing him well.

Anyway, since that fateful day, I’ve never used a purse. I usually have my trusty fanny pack. Yeah, it’s still possible it could be stolen, but hopefully it’s less likely. It leaves my hands free, and I still keep my car keys in my pocket.

Yesterday I visited the library. Had a nice visit chatting with my old co-workers. On my way out the first set of double doors, some guy from behind me called out, “Is that your money belt?”

I half turned to see a man who was probably sixty-five behind me. He had on boots and blue jeans. “No, it’s my gun holster,” I replied. He stopped walking. I didn’t. How are you supposed to answer a question like that? “Yes, and I have 400 dollars in it?” Whatever.

He called out again, a little less loudly. “I guess I better not mess with you then.”

“Probably not.”

He followed me out the second set of double doors a healthy distance behind me. “We sure need rain,” he said.

“Yup.”

“God Bless you,” were his last words.

“You too,” I said with a smile.

Not sure how one goes from “Is that your money belt” to “God Bless you.” My social skills aren’t that sophisticated. Hmph.
