Dua program beasiswa yang saat ini sedang dibuka adalah SUTD President’s Graduate Fellowship (PhD) dan SUTD PhD Fellowship. Keduanya dapat dilamar oleh mahasiswa internasional untuk melanjutkan studi doktoral (S3) di SUTD. Yang berbeda adalah cakupan dari beasiswa.

SUTD President’s Graduate Fellowship (PhD) mencakup tanggungan penuh biaya kuliah selama program S3 di SUTD, uang saku bulanan S$ 3.000, dukungan dana seminar tahunan, serta peluang memperoleh sponsor penelitian dan magang.

Sementara, SUTD PhD Fellowship selain menyediakan tanggungan penuh biaya kuliah, juga diberikan uang saku bulanan sebesar S$ 2.000 serta naik menjadi S$ 2.500 per bulan setelah lulus ujian kepatutan.

Bergelar setidaknya sarjana dengan prestasi akademik istimewa
Mahir dalam bahasa Inggris (IELTS atau TOEFL wajib jika bahasa Inggris bukan bahasa pengantar kuliah)

Kementerianristekdikti resmi mengumumkan dibukanya penerimaan beasiswa PMDSU untuk batch V 2019 bagi mahasiswa lulusan s1 fresh graduate (3 tahun terakhir) untuk semua PTN dan PTS naungan kemristekdikti.

Beasiswa PMDSU merupakan yang keempat kalinya ditawarkan sejak digulirkan 2013. Tujuan dari Beasiswa Pendidikan Magister Menuju Doktor Untuk Sarjana (PMDSU) salah satunya adalah untuk meningkatkan jumlah dosen di indonesia yang memiliki pendidikan kualitas doctor. Untuk Beasiswa Pendidikan Magister Menuju Doktor Untuk Sarjana (PMDSU) batch v 2019, ada 16 perguruan tinggi penyelenggara yang nantinya menjadi pilihan atau tujuan studi. Applications are invited for a fully funded PhD studentship undertaking research into robotic learning within the context of a European Union Horizon 2020-funded project DREAM (Deferred Restructuring of Experience in Autonomous Machines). DREAM is a joint Horizon 2020 project combining strength of 5 academic partners throughout Europe. The project aims to develop a machine that can accumulate and develop increasingly complex skills over an extended time period through consolidation and restructuring of knowledge.

The Distributed Computing Group is a young research group at the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering. Currently we are about ten members. The research group aims to increase the number of women in scientific positions. Female candidates are therefore encouraged to apply.

Ph.D. Student in Algorithms/Theory

We are interested in a variety of hot topics in the area of distributed computing, such as distributed algorithms, graph algorithms, multi-core systems or social and mobile networks. In our group we try to apply and unite the approaches and techniques of algorithmic theory and systems implementation. Some members of our group focus on algorithms and theory, some on systems design and building. All of us work together to build scalable, fault-tolerant, and efficient primitives and applications for the distributed future of computing.

We are looking for a new member with a strong algorithmic background, and a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or a related field. A candidate should be attracted by and proficient in areas such as approximation algorithms, complexity theory, distributed algorithms, graph theory, online computation, computational geometry, probabilistic algorithms, learning theory, combinatorics or optimization. A new group member can choose and shape a project according to his or her interests and talents within the first months of employment. Successful candidates are expected to work towards a doctoral degree, and participate in the teaching activities of the group.

Fully funded Ph.D. positions at Center for Data-Intensive Systems (Daisy), Department of Computer Science, Aalborg University, Denmark

We have Ph.D. several positions, to be supervised by Obel Professor Christian S. Jensen, available for start over the summer of 2015. The Chair of Building Physics of ETHZ studies porous materials and their interactions with fluids. We are offering a

PhD position: "with focus on Sorption induced deformations of nano/microporous materials"

Sorption originates at the molecular scale from the interactions between the atoms/molecules of the solid skeleton and the molecules of the fluid. This molecular interaction may lead to sorption-induced deformations. A signature of many disordered materials is the appearance of hysteresis in the sorption and mechanical process. Disorder can be modelled by coupling the material consisting of a distribution of sorption sites and mechanical contacts at different scales. The physical behavior of these features and their coupling can be understood using molecular dynamics and micro-mechanical models. Using upscaling, the coupling between sorption and deformation is modeled in a continuum manner by a poromechanical approach, taking into account the underlying solid-fluid interactions.

In this PhD, we develop a coupled poromechanical model for sorption-induced deformation of nano/microporous materials. This poromechanical model is documented from experimental observations and molecular simulation results performed at lower scales. Different microporous materials will be studied: consolidated granular media, cellular materials and composite materials. Hierarchical polymeric materials, like wood, will be studied in more detail with special focus on shape memory effects upon wetting and drying.

The ideal candidate has a master in mechanical/civil engineering, physics or materials science and is a communicative scientist with a strong interest in modeling the mechanical behavior of porous materials at different scales. Mastering of the English language is required.

Presiden SBY Luncurkan Program Beasiswa Presiden RI

Jakarta: Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, didampingi Wapres Boediono, meluncurkan ‘Indonesia Presidential Scholarship’ atau Beasiswa Presiden Republik Indonesia (BPRI) di Istana Negara, Jakarta, Rabu (2/4) pukul 15.00 WIB. Program beasiswa ini diberikan Pemerintah Indonesia kepada warga negara Indonesia untuk menempuh jenjang pendidikan magister (S2) dan doktor (S3) di sejumlah perguruan tinggi terbaik dunia. Mendikbud Mohammad Nuh menjelaskan, beasiswa tersebut disampaikan oleh Presiden sejak awal 2013 untuk mempersiapkan generasi emas 100 tahun pada tahun 2045 dimana bangsa Indonesia akan memiliki populasi usia muda yang besar. Diharapkan dengan program beasiswa ini akan lahir pemimpin baru yang berpengetahuan, berketerampilan, serta cinta dan bangga dengan tanah airnya. Gagasan program ini sudah ada sejak awal 2013, namun bari kali ini resmi diluncurkan. “Ketika kiamat esok hari, kita punya benih, maka tanamlah benih tu. Masa kampanye bukanlah masa yang steril dalam kebaikan, selama tidak disalahgunakan,” ujar M. Nuh. Sementara itu, Presiden SBY menjelaskan bahwa peluncuran BPRI ini merupakan babak penting dalam perjalanan bangsa Indonesia menuju bangsa yang lebih maju. Dengan adanya BPRI ini, maka semakin banyak jenis beasiswa yang dijalankan oleh LPDP (Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan). Sebelumnya LPDP sudah menjalankan program Beasiswa Pendidikan Indonesia (BPI). Data terakhir jumlah penerima BPI sudah ada sekitar 1.500 orang. The Horizon My Life in Data Centre for Doctoral Training will train a community of PhD students with the interdisciplinary skills to address the challenge of digital identity and personal data for the 21st century. In collaboration with industry and international partners, our students will establish the technologies, applications and principles to enable citizens to construct their digital identities from personal data and effectively manage them to derive economic and social value. We are interested in students from a wide variety of backgrounds including computer science, engineering, human factors, psychology, sociology, business, geography, social science and the arts, providing they have an excellent first degree and can demonstrate an enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research. Students will be recruited onto one of three pathways; institutional, international or industry. Our industry research themes for this round include Communities, identities and place, Curating traveller identity, Digital identities for personalised media experiences, Intelligent mobility, Introducing a social perspective to future digital identity products, Data analytics for digital identity, The contextual footprint at work and Augmenting fast-moving consumer goods in the home to support sustainable living and wellbeing, and personal data to encourage wellbeing. Postgraduate Scholarship in Next Generation Mobile Communication Systems (5G) Two full-time postgraduate scholarships are available for suitably qualified candidates with a good honours degree or equivalent in science or engineering to undertake research studies leading to PhD in telecommunication networks. The successful candidates will be hosted in the Centre for Real-time Information Networks, University of Technology Sydney and conduct research in the field of next generation mobile communication systems (5G). The following topic areas in the next generation mobile communication systems will be investigated (but not limited to): * Modelling and performance analysis of dense and small-cell networks * Network architecture design * Spectrum and interference management * Cooperative communication strategy * Energy efficient communication techniques * Information centric networks ELIGIBILITY: Applicants should have solid mathematical, telecommunications or electrical engineering background, and a particular interest in applying sophisticated mathematical skills to study large-scale mobile communication systems. The scholarship is only for PhD candidates. Successful applicants should meet the admission requirements for PhD and are expected to start their enrolment at the University of Technology Sydney in Semester 2, 2014 or Semester 1, 2015. Preference may be given to candidates who can start early. AMOUNT AWARDED: The scholarship is valued at $25,392 per annum (tax exempt) and may be renewed for up to three and a half years, subject to satisfactory progress. The University of Ulster is a leading research institution in the built environment. It has been ranked in the top five subject research centres of excellence for 20 years. It is seeking PhD student applications to commence in September 2014 to join the internationally respected research teams in the School of the Built Environment which is based at the Jordanstown campus, University of Ulster. The research groups have attracted over £12million in research grant funding in the past five years.

Research is overseen by the Built Environment Research Institute (BERI) and is organized into four centres: Research in Property and Planning, Centre for Sustainable Technologies, Hydrogen Safety Engineering and Research and the Fire Safety Engineering Research Technology Centre.

Expertise ranges from fire engineering research, hydrogen safety, energy engineering to land use planning and property performance analysis. BERI is concerned with the delivery of research that will enhance the quality of the built environment and address the changing needs of society in a more resilient manner.

We welcome the submission of PhD projects by applicants and we also offer a range of PhD opportunities linked with current projects (below).
