Naples—April 2012—Interior design heavy-hitters Beasley & Henley Interior Design have installed their latest model for WCI Communities, the Marquesa Royale, in the Tiburon development in Naples, Florida.

When Beasley & Henley installs a model, people tend to pay attention — and the Marquesa Royale was no exception.  During the three days when furnishings were being installed in this 2950-square foot luxury condo, people were stopping by in droves.

“From the very first day we started to install, we had dozens of people walking in,” said Beasley & Henley designer Dan Killgore. “Even before all the furniture was in place, we had BHID fans looking around, saying hello and admiring what they saw!”

The designers’ Marquesa Royale interiors feature a color palette of warm grays, tone-on-tone white and creamy neutrals, and pops of bright, sunny gold to appeal to American and European buyers.

The design is sophisticated and soothing with an eclectic mix of modern abstract art, clean-lined furnishings, reproduced antiques, whimsical accent pieces, and oversized prints on throw pillows and draperies.

The three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath Marquesa is a luxury condo in the prestigious community next to the Ritz-Carleton Golf Resort in Naples.

Winter Park, FL, April, 2012 — Trend forecasting has begun for spring and summer 2012. Interior design heavy-hitters Beasley & Henley have published their trends for 2012 predictions. When industry leaders weigh in, people tend to listen. And when the message is one of brightness and includes throwbacks to happier times, it is welcomed.

According to Beasley & Henley, bright, strong colors dominate all looks. While they are often grounded in the ever-popular grey or fresh white, liberal amounts of fuchsia, bright blue, sunny yellow, and bold purple are popping up everywhere.

“The long days of summer 2012 will reflect a festive, upbeat mood that this country has been longing for,” says Beasley & Henley Interior Design principal Troy Beasley.

Lemony yellow slip colors help brighten a family room; breezy bright draperies add new life to a bedroom; and a splash of bold, cherry red paint reinvigorate a tired foyer.

These colors are not only vibrant and fun, but often have a distinctly 1970s air to them. Chevron patterns on fabrics, color blocks on draperies, Pucci-inspired throws, and fun melamine dinnerware reflect the flashy days of the past, repurposed in trends for 2012.

In a move away from the minimal palates of past years, color trends for 2012 feature an active mixing of colors. Turquoise walls with a soft red rug, or a coral chair with a lime green pillow, may not be out of the question.

“I am normally not a great fan of trends,” says Beasley, “but I love this one.”

Beasley advises homeowners not to invest in expensive pieces for this color trend. Colorful walls and draperies, available in cost-effective fabrics, allow home decorators to jump on this vibrant bandwagon without spending a lot of money.

In the meantime, says the designer, take out the fiery orange, lipstick red, and electric yellow and enjoy a great spring and summer. The future for home design is bright – especially for spring and summer 2012.

The interior design firm, led by design principal Troy Beasley, won the BALA Gold Award for their work in the Interior Design, Interior Architecture, and Renovation of common areas of the multi-million dollar Seapoint Condominiums in Naples

This is the firm’s 3rd BALA Award.

Beasley & Henley’s designs reflect a sophisticated, modern-beach ambiance in the Gulf Coast tower’s common areas, which includes the main foyer, grand foyer, grand lobby, club room, bar, gallery, offices, pool, fitness room, and two guest suites. To create this theme, Beasley and his team created the interior space layout, architectural detailing, construction drawings, and specification of finishes and furnishings.

Beasley designed the interiors to be transitionally modern with a sophisticated Indonesian flair. Many of the high-end furnishings and fixtures were custom-made for the project. The colors are light and cool, with blues and soft sand playing a primary role. The transitional furnishings do not sacrifice comfort; artwork and accessories are contemporary and colorful.

Some of Beasley’s selections for this 10,000 square foot space include limestone flooring with fossilized shell, slate, five-foot tall chandeliers, intricate modern woodworking details, stacked stone water feature, vibrant blue Azul del Mar granite, a glass wall, light fixtures of blown Italian glass in an organic shapes, hardwood flooring has a driftwood tone and blue Venetian Plaster.

Furnishings include stylized club chairs, custom rugs, unique driftwood sculptures, event tables, bar top tables, and custom furnishings, all with a light, airy flair.

The final product – the completed common areas and guest rooms — is an updated, high-style design with the ease and comfort of residents kept foremost in mind.

The Furnishings Trends for 2012 are emerging and putting a twist on the modern-only styles of the past decade. See what Beasley & Henley Interior Design sees as “In” for the upcoming year.

COLOR

The dominate color is Grey. Warm Grey, Light Grey, Charcoal  Grey.  On walls, furnishings, window  treatments, artwork. Grey will be everywhere!

Also coming on strong will be Yellow! Everyone loves its freshness and the lift it gives to any room. It will be paired with Grey, of course.
Other hot color trends in 2012 will include Indigo Blue, Grass Green, Greige (beige/green hybrid), and still, Black and White.   In addition, Orange will still be hanging around; Purple is on its way out and Brown, which had a very long run, is gone.

FURNISHINGS: The headline here has to be: Paris Flea Market meets Driftwood Salvage.  This captures the hot trend of natural, reclaimed, and rustic wood furniture that is overtaking the market. Finishes on these rustic pieces will range from wire-brushed to bleached oak to grey washes.

Also hot in 2012 will be the captivating and unique industrial look. Adding in touches of repurposed, industrial 0ccasional tables or side carts will create a space with character. Mix it in with a few modern pieces and voila. A great look.

Another great look for 2012 will be Antiques. For some people, antiques have never gone out of style, and now others will be jumping on the band wagon because antiques are coming back and will be hotter than ever.
An interesting 2012 Trend side note… Beasley & Henley has spotted a few manufacturers that will be making Lounge Chair Seating a little lower in 2012.

The standard is 20” off the floor, but look for some to be at 17-18” off the floor. Maybe for lower ceilings and smaller houses.

FABRICS:

Married to the natural, rustic look of furnishings will be fabrics with woven, hemp-like characteristics. Nubby cottons, loose weaves, and Belgium linens will come on strong and will be found in soft earth tones like warm whites, sandy beiges, light greys and tans.

Another great development for 2012 is that environmentally conscious fabrics will finally be really accessible and affordable in most price categories.

Environmentally conscious exterior fabrics will also be coming on strong with their incredible new look and feel.  In most cases, even designers won’t be able to identify an exterior fabric as an interior fabric. They will be just as beautiful inside as outside. That is a great development.

Oversized Prints were big in 2011 and they will continue to be big again in 2012.

LIGHT FIXTURES: Reclaimed pieces turned in to lamps and lighting was a trend that started a couple years ago and will continue in 2012. These funky items, along with some equally unique industrial fixtures, will make lighting an “objet d’art” as much as an actual light source.

HARDWARE:

Chrome fitting are going to be popular in 2012 and beyond. Also look for Polished and Satin Brass hardware, all designed with a modernist flair, of course.

ARTWORK: Oversized photography is still the king of artwork. Looks will range from standard pictures, to re-worked images in Sepia’s, Black and White, and a variety of computer enhanced stylings.

So what’s the hold up? Buy something yellow, paint a wall grey, find a rustic wood side table, cover a sofa in a large-print hemp, and hang up some huge photos of a favorite adventure.

Bring it on 2012.

The architect for the remodel was Don Stevenson and the contractor was BCBE, both of Naples, FL.
