Seems that Facebook is readily available and an easy way to connect with people and it seems that I am there more often than here. I will give this another few months ,then close it down for good... Maybe I just needed a rest from it. Here I am retired and seeming to be running out of time every day...time for my computer and time to play... Then again it is a hot lovely summer that has kept us busy with the girls here and my retirement party and other lovely visitors...so times have been busy.
Today is Sunday and Emil and I will go up to the driving range so I can practice some more with my new Calaway golf clubs... they are fabulous, but I have to learn how to use them properly. I am looking forward to some pain free golf.
okey dokey have a good weekend, a good week and maybe even a good month. Don't be too hard on yourself and enjoy life!
She also got a chance to go see her sister annette ,in Halifax...which was a big thrill to both sisters!
I arrived home to find, that unlike sunny Victoria, the Kootenays have been suffering through many many days of wet soggy rain. I could twll when I looked at my flowers in my big pots...many had gone moldy, where as I expected mounds of fresh blooms by the time I arrived home. My tomatoe plants are purple with cold and all in all much of my garden never grew from the seeds I planted before I left. Oh well, we can have late garden, so I will reseed some things like my beans.

Also, the lake has risen higher than normal ,giving everyone a big scare that lives along the lakeside.
Lucky for all concerned, the lake is going down...yea!
here are some shots od my flowers and the lake shore below my garen...
It is tree that will grow about 35 feet tall and it has shiny green leaves and white blossoms that start in the summer and bloom into the fall, when the foliage turns bright red. We thought it would make a nice addition to the acreage...Besides that, two other trees have parished in the same location so we hope this one doesn't meet the same fate.

It has been quite some time since I blogged...mainly because I use Facebook quite a lot and the last few times I was having difficulting uploading photos to my blog.
After this last hiatus, I see that the photo option is working again...good! Maybe I will be inspired once again.

The day is beautiful today so I am back outside. Emil tilled up the remainder of my garden yesterday and that is a huge relief.. I will be able to get it planted before I go to Victoria at he beginning of June.
The time is going by quickly...and will be here before I know it.
Hard to believe that she turns 39 today! Looking mighty beautiful in those high stepping new shoes darling!
Thought I would put a little note on my blog just because we love you!
It was so nice to get a visit in with Annette while we were down in Victoria. She has been having a great time with the girls and Sonia. tonight they are all going out for a birthday dinner... I would love to be there to celebrate...but have to settle for being here, since we were just there! Have a great day...and just think... It is Lynn and Bob's 39th anniversary tomorrow... the one wedding I wanted to go to and had the dress and the plans... but look what happened instead... I had Annette...the cutest little baby ...now all grown up! Worth missing the wedding for. The whole bridal party came up to the hospital to see me ...so nice... I think I cried!
Happy Birthday to you!!!!
Ok...check it out...cause somesome is saying that the customer service at Beyond the Rack sucks... Homesave looks good too... Now to see if they deliver to Canada! Why yes, they do and may be Canadian... about the same charges as Beyond the rack ...$11.95 for S&H. Too bad they don't offer more stuff at once and there doesn't seem to be clothing.

Bailey...my little man that I am dogsitting right now for the neighbours..He is good, just needs a few manners.

Hello everyone... I am trying out a new feature of blogger that will allow me to upload more photos with less effort ...Yea! Trouble is that sometime I see them and sometime I don't ...like right now went to to put writing under each photo, the pictures weren't there...s o bare with me as I play around with this feature. I was almost going to call it a day last week and close my blog altogether, but if I can upload more photos at one time, I will feel a little less exasperated...although it took me quite a few hours to get this far. hang in there, I may be back!
Well, I had the pictures here yesterday.. ;Now where did they go to? Ok, I have uploaded the above photos which were the same as the below photos that were there and have gone to cyberspace somewhere, This is driving me nuttier!

Here is Margo's Labradoodle, Max. He is the most loving guy and got along famously with Silky.
Although he looks not too tall, he is quite a bit larger than Silky as you can see by the photo below.

Don't get confused... this doggie down below is Amigo... Joyce's lovey little guy... larger than Silky and shorter than Max.

And here are the Kissing cousins, Silky on the left and Lynn's sweet co-co on the right. He loves her to the point of exhaustion!

In case you think you are seeing things, here is Bailey, another lovey dovey doggie belonging to my neighbours. Emil and I are dogsitting him for the next two weeks.. and he is giving me a work-out..which isn't a bad thing, if I can only get him to stop bolting left or right without a second's notice when we are walking... I see a choke chain in his future.

"
Three more noteworthy dogs of the long hair cute variety are Correna's Doogie, Virginia's new pup don't remember his name and Eva's puppy, Marley, who is a midget compared to these I have pictured. If you gals send me a current photo, I will add them to my doggie page! Aren't they all so cute!

If you are a shopper, don't miss out on this awesome website... the suctions change up very frequently, so if you like it, buy it now. I am waiting for my new body that I ordered before I shop for clothing, but I sure might have to go to the housewares department. it takes a month before it arrives at your house, so shop for winter early...just joking ! Shop for summer and by the time the clothes arrive, so will the weather!
Thanks Ronda for pointing me to this awesome website.
The logging truck lost its entire load of logs onto the highway so we waited well over an hour for the road to reopen while the logs were picked up and transferred to a new logging truck.

Going home was even more exciting as we rounded a curve only to find a long line up of stuck traffic on Highway 33 on the way to the Big White turnoff. Two police cars were in the middle of the traffic and tried to restore order after closing down the highway. We waited quite some time in the wet snowstorm until a snow plow came. The rest of the highway to Beaverdale was no screaming hell either with nearly a foot of snow on the road in some parts and only two cowtrail tracks to drive in... a littel hairy for the bea!

And last but not least the beautiful Paradise Ranch that Ronda says is hers... she is not living there quite yet, but with any luck, the move should come soon! The Modern Spanish architecture was so suiting to the country side. The house was only part of an extensive ranch that raises a special breed of Peruvian horses.

Thanks to John and Ronda for taking us around to all the amazing sites in Vernon!

"The Creator"

"The Creator"

Easy Peezy pie crust roll out

In a hurry, can't roll out pastry... Here is an easy trick... overlap two 16" lengths of saran wrap to give you a large square surface. However, retirement might get me moving on it again...either that or I will just let it lie like a sleeping dog.
Last Friday, my first surprise came when a beautiful mini garden basket full of greenery and flowers, arrived for me at work ,early in the morning...( see bottom photo) . I was in tears as I read the card... wishing me well in my retirement form John and rondo and Phoebe and Ron... So sweet of them to make the start of my last day just perfect. Then Wayne, our work associate, walked in and presented me with a box of scrumptious napoleons from Fomi's bakery...the new one across from the Hume school on Nelson Ave. We enjoyed those rich babies for desertle after our yummy lunch which Chris and Carolyne had ordered my favorite shrimp melt and house salad from the Main Street Diner.Chris brought lunch back with my Happy Retirement Balloon! Once again I was so touched!

As the day came to a close , my dear Emil arrived with a big bottle of Sumac Ridge champagne... (a brand I would highly recommend) and Chris and I toasted my last day,and Our Saturday co-worker, Patricia, arrived and joined us for another toast or two, until we finished off the bottle.

With the shop closed down ,w e migrated over to Mike's place at the Hume and settled into the crowd for beer and natchos. Wayne and Patty joined us and Carolyne arrived with gorgeous roses for me. The hours passed as we ate wings and natchos, drank beer, and laughed and joked as the idea of boss and employee ended and a new friendship developed. We had a great evening out and that was just the first of my retirement week-end... So good to be home again... It is like being a stranger in my own house... no need to rush and there will be time to do what needs doing... and even what doesn't NEED doing...just what I feel liek doing... as on Tuesday, when I headed off to Kelowna for the day with my sister Joyce...I like that feeling of being able to!

Cheers and a toast... here is Patty on the left, and Carolyne on the right

Wayne and Patty..now residents of Nelson... and he is a fine jeweller as well who trained with Chris, years ago... Now he spends a lot of time building world class model airplanes and doing astronomy. You can visit him and his telescope at Lakeside park after the sun goes down on a Friday night!( especially when it is warmer out)

My favourite cute couple... I didn't think I would be looking forward to my last day as much as I am, but I guess my need to do things at home and be with Emil has surpassed the need for the job. It has been a great place to work and many customers have become good friends.
And for those of you who popped in to see me while you were in town, I certainly appreciated having your surprise visits. Now we will have to meet for a coffee in town, if you email me or call me and let me know when you will be in Nelson. It is only a littledrive to town that has become a regular routine now. However, during the month of March, the ferry will be replaced by a pontoon barge or rig that will carry fewer cars while the ferry is going in for refit ( something I need , myself!) So plan on longer delays getting on and off the ferry and avoid the peak hours between 7&9 in the morning and 5-6:30 in the afternoon. For me, I am thrilled that I won't have to contend with that traffic jam! Yea!

Have a great day!
Creator"

"The Creator"

Little Bit O spring

Safeway had a great deal on fresh daffies and tulips so I loaded up to give myself a little spring time cheer to add to the lovely sunny days we have had this week-end. Emil and I took a nice walk with Silky... the roads are still pretty icy in some areas, but all clear in others.. All we need is a little warmth to go with the sunshine.
I am pretty much finished loading all of my music CD's into a large binder that now weighs in at over ten pounds I am sure. It will enable us to get rid of the ugly CD rack out of the living room. Of course, when we bought it, we thought it was the cat's meow!

So this week is my last week at Kolmels after more than five years...What will I do with myself? Shell the rest of my walnuts from last fall? frame up a few pictures? Go for a Sunday drive in the middle of the week? Paint a picture? Sew? Garden?

The world is my oyster! I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders when I was cleaning my bathroom yesterday... I was thinking, that hey, if I don't get that window-sill wiped down, I can do it any day next week...ANY Day...I will have a choice!

Okey dokey...back to work at home first, then at Kolmels for the rest of the week... Wheee!

"The Creator"<div style="clear:both; Ask me if I thought I'd live to see double digits past 2000 and I would say that I never dreamt it. Now we are heading into twenty eleven and I find that amazing to even let those numbers slide off my tongue... 20-11, 20-11 ....20-11. Seems like it is all in a dream, but here we are, bigger than life making plans for the upcoming year...and it is going to be one of the best since probably 1999!
To wind up 2010, we will have a little games night over at Deb and Ashley's house , with Randy and Francis and with any luck, we will all keep our peepers open long enough to ring in the new year. Then we begin a fresh new year at midnight with loads on the horizon, because it is going to be an awesome year!
I want to stay and chat all night and let you know all of our plans for 2011, but I am fading away as the clock ticks closer to 11:00pm . We have had a heck of a busy week at work and I have been mostly on my own.... our lovely city is filled with visitors who have come home to spend holidays with their parents or grandparents...and every kid in town has come back to their favourite jewellery store, Kolmels.

Now I am pooped but still need to tell you about an important email someone sent me about a phone scam. A caller calls your number then says you have won a trip or prize or a relative is sick or she has something to tell you, then asks you to call her at a number that begins with area code 809, or 284, or 876. The email has been in circulation since 1996, but still bears some important info. It tells you never to dial a number with area code 809.284,or 876 as these are foreign countries that can be dialed without a 011 prefix that is the usual for foreign countries. 809 gets you to the Dominican Republic, while 284 takes you to the British Virgin Islands and 876 is to Jamaica. You can run up quite a tab if you get some long winded prerecorded message.
Always be wary of anyone telling you won something and that you have to call up a certain number or give up credit card info or send a cheque. You can google an area code to find out where its location is.
On the other hand, if you get a call from Canada Safeway telling you that you won the Grand Prize in the Texas Hold'um contest, you better believe it! I know, because last year, I did get that call and guess what? We are finally going to get our prize in a few weeks... to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and best of all, my cousin Lynn and my daughter Sonia are joining us in the fun. See what I mean about 2011!!!! It is going to start off with some fine Tropical weather, great company and 2 weeks to lolly gag on the beach.... I can't wait! .....Now it is time for bed...for real!

"The Creator"
"The Creator"

Merry Christmas

Emil was smiling as he opened Janice's package o' dough ...she paid back all the damages from the time she broke his boat...

Silky loved Co-co's new bowl

Coc-co is barking at his new dish... thats when Silky walked over and helped herself to the treat inside of it!

Bea's smiling at her new kobo e reader...
