These online casino forums, 100% free to join and contribute to, provide you with the chance to interact with other casino players worldwide, and also give you the ability to ask questions about anything you've seen on our blogs, or any other casino websites from around the world. Our forums provide a range of topics to contribute to, including a "Roulette Chat" section.

Roulette players will find the forums VERY useful. Discuss online roulette, or discuss roulette game conditions or roulette game rules in your local land-based casino. Talk about various roulette ball tracking techniques, progressive betting systems, biased roulette wheels, and opportunities for great roulette bets. Find out whether casino roulette promotions really offer better chances for roulette players around the world, dependent on game and promotional payouts.

I encourage you to visit http://www.howtobeatthecasinos.com/forum and contribute. And here's an incentive: the first 20 people who sign up and post 20 LEGITIMATE (e.g. not spam, and they should be more than a few lines etc) posts each, can claim $5USD from me via Paypal. Once you've created the necessary number of posts (this may take you a week or two - the idea here is to build a community), email me at davewestlondon@yahoo.co.uk. If you're in the first 20 readers to do so, and your posts check out ok, I'll send you $5USD via Paypal as a thank you! Please ensure you are old enough to comment / gamble in your jurisdiction (21+ encouraged).

HowToBeatTheCasinos.com now launched

Hi, you've possibly noticed this blog hasn't been updated for a few months... apologies for that but I've been working hard on our brand new blog site which is located at www.howtobeatthecasinos.com. Want £30 free from me? Read below about SlotsNGames Offer.

Do you enjoy playing Roulette? I do. It's a fun game and can produce great wins - if played well. Bankroll management is important though. Last week, Derren Brown appeared live on UK television in the final episode in the Derren Brown's The Events series. There was a great deal of Internet hype generated before the showing - but know I'm not sure why. Derren Brown intended to take down a casino by predicting the course of a roulette wheel and winning a lucky viewer £175,000. But he didn't do it. That's right: he didn't win the money for a viewer. He didn't predict the number correctly - although he came close. The ball stopped one number away on the roulette wheel from the number he predicted to win.

So, what was the point of the Derren Brown show then? Was it to highlight that gambling is based on chance, that chance means events are truly random, and that therefore there is no guarantee of winning? It it was meant to do that, then it's done a great job. Or was it to show that Derren Brown was very good at predicting the stopping position of a white roulette ball on a roulette wheel - but not perfect? It did a good job of demonstrating that too.

Derren Brown's roulette prediction simply didn't work. Here at Beat the Casinos, we know that placing a large bet on just a single spin of the roulette wheel is always going to be a dangerous thing. You've only got a one in 37 chance of winning that bet - 2.63%, or a one in 38 chance if you live in the USA and play standard American Casino roulette. We've got a few articles around better roulette betting here at Beat Roulette Wheels, and also at our sister blog: Beat The Casinos. Have a read, and improve your chances to win!

I'm offering a VERY SPECIAL DEAL to all of our readers for THIS month only. There's a great new casino on the block from St Minver (who operate a wide range of online casinos including VIP Casino club, Metro Bingo, Butlins Casino and others), called SlotsNGames. SlotsNGames offers up to £275 of free cash in the form of matchplays - and that's a MASSIVE bonus fund to access. It's one of the very best available bonuses from ANY online casino. But here's an additional reason to join...just from our Beat the Casinos family.

Click on the banner below to visit SlotsNGames. If you join up via Beat Roulette Wheels by October 31 2009, deposit at least £100 and get your first bonus, and play that combined total through to meet / exceed the playthrough requirements listed on the SlotsNGames website, I'll PERSONALLY give you a cash thank you of £30 - whether you win or lose! Well, I haven't died - I've just been experimenting with the Wordpress platform. The gameplay is virtually the same between this and the other Double Bonus Spin Roulette version, but the graphics are richer, and the table limit is 1000 units rather than 3000 units.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 250px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_VtBqfaAxfGA/SVf9LxJsqsI/AAAAAAAAAnU/zkPGtkJLHe0/s400/players-suite-double-bonus-roulette.jpg" border="0" alt="Player's Suite Double Bonus Roulette at Virgin Casino"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5284971066356968130" />
As in the original (non Player's Suite) version of this roulette game, you can still win huge amounts on the bonus round. You can get 120x your bet if one ball lands in the yellow Bonus well during the bonus round, and 1200x your bet if both balls land in the yellow Bonus well during the bonus round. With a maximum bet of 50 units allowed on the Bonus well, that means you could win up to 60,000 units!!! That's HUGE - especially if you're playing Great British pounds sterling!

Player's Suite Double Bonus Roulette is available now at Virgin Casino.

Double Bonus Spin Roulette

Virgin Casino offers a neat derivative of roueltte called Double Bonus Spin Roulette. This roulette game is based upon American Roulette (so it has a zero and a double zero) - and it also has an extra wide "Bonus" well. You can make all of the normal roulette bets, which have standard payoffs (35 to 1 for a single number, etc). You can also bet on the "Bonus" well, which pays 12 to 1 - but then starts a "Double Bonus Spin" frenzy! The Bonus well is 1½ times the width of a standard well and is therefore 1½ times as likely to catch a ball or blue light!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 250px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_VtBqfaAxfGA/SVf4dwf58qI/AAAAAAAAAm8/bA5KSPjrEc8/s400/double-bonus-spin-roulette-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Double Bonus Spin Roulette - Normal Gameplay"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5284965877861184162" />
If your ball lands in the Bonus slot, all of your chips on the roulette layout stand (i.e. they're not lost). In the Double Bonus Spin, two blue lights appear on the wheel. Both blue lights rotate around the wheel and each will stop next to a well on the wheel. If a blue light stops on a well corresponding to a standing bet, you win on that bet. The blue lights are independent so they can both produce winners. Yes, the two blue lights in the Double Bonus Spin are truly independent - the landing of one blue light has no affect on where the other blue light lands.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 250px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_VtBqfaAxfGA/SVf4eLs3R0I/AAAAAAAAAnE/eyVVO-woReE/s400/double-bonus-spin-roulette-2.jpg" border="0" alt="Double Bonus Spin Roulette - Bonus Underway"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5284965885163292482" />
Want to win REALLY big? Why? Simply, the casinos love roulette players. With a typical house edge of 2.63% or above (unless the European single-zero wheel is used, alongside the en-prison rule - which reduces the edge to about 1.3%), the casinos view roulette as a profitable game. And the most profitable games (for the house) tend to lend themselves to good comps for the players of those games.

My sister blog, Beat the Casinos has an article I wrote some time ago about the basics of getting comps, called How to Get Casino Comps. That's a good primer to the topic of getting casino complimentaries, and worth a read. But here's some additional advice for roulette players, that's not mentioned in that original article: play on busy roulette tables.

You might well ask "why?". When playing for comps, you want to try to reduce the amount of your REAL action as much as possible, whilst making it look like you're betting a lot more than you actually are over a period of time. Because comps are formulated on your "average bet", the secret is to appear to be "playing" for a long time, but actually to not be putting too much money into play. One good way to reduce the overall level of "action" you're giving to the casino is to play on crowded roulette tables.

This works mathematically because the more people there are at the table, the slower the gameplay. The more people that bet, the more bets the dealer needs to keep track of. The more people that bet, the more people that will have winning bets. And the more winning bets, the more time it will take the dealer to actually pay out those bets. As a rough example, you'll get the following amount of spins on a table in an hour, with "x" players:

1 roulette player = wheel spins 110 per hour
2 roulette players = wheel spins 80 per hour
3 roulette players = wheel spins 60 per hour
4 roulette players = wheel spins 55 per hour
5 roulette players = wheel spins 50 per hour
6+ roulette players = wheel spins 35 per hour

These figures are approximate - but you can no doubt see the trend! The more players the better. It's also good to have other players at the roulette table for another reason: atmosphere. I've often met some great people around a roulette wheel - and it's fun to play this game of chance with others involved. Well, that works for me anyway. :-)

When you're not playing for comps, but playing to win, then you simply want to reduce the house edge on the game to the lowest possible amount. As mentioned elsewhere in this "Beat Roulette Wheels" blog, Betfair Casino offers you the best game online with ZERO HOUSE EDGE ROULETTE. It's unique, and you simply won't find a better bet online.

Bally's Roulette Machines

In the USA especially, the Bally's Roulette machines seem to be a popular addition to many casino slot machine inventories. I call this a "slot machine" rather than a "table game" simply because it looks more like a slot machine than a table, and it appears to have payoffs similar to slot machines. Ugh. Of course, this is just my personal opinion - you should make up your own mind.

According to friends in the US who've played the game first hand, and also from what I've ascertained online, Bally's Roulette is available in denominations from a low of one penny to a high of $100. That's cool - because it allows a wide range of players / bankrolls to play. But the pay table is not cool. There are various configurations available to the casino operators, but potentially a casino could put a Bally's Roulette version on the gaming floor that pays just 32-for-1 on single-number bets, instead of the usual 35-to-1.

There's a difference between "for-1" and "to-1" payoffs. A "for-1" payoff includes the return of your wager. A "to-1" payoff gives you the advertised odds, plus your wager back. So a payout of 32-for-1 is the same as 31-to-1. Both give you 32 chips.

The usual odds for roulette pay 36-for-1 (35-to-1) on a winning single number bet. So at 32-for-1, your return is four credits shy of what you should get. This has a HUGE impact on the house edge. On a normal single zero roulette game, the house has an edge of about 2.63%. With the Bally's Roulette "short pay" of 31-to-1, the edge becomes over 13%!!! That's TERRIBLE. That payout level is equivalent to a typical penny slot machine!

If you're playing pennies you might not notice things so much - but at the higher denominations, you'd better hang on to your bankroll! Ouch! It would seem much better (to me) to play the table roulette version, than to play these types of roulette machines... just my personal thoughts. Have you played these roulette machines before? Have thoughts / comments? Feel free to leave a comment on the blog - or email me at davewestlondon@yahoo.co.uk.

PS: Bally's Roulette Machines are (C) Bally Technologies Inc. My image of the roulette machine was found at www.ballytech.com. Note that other gaming companies also produce gaming machines that have similar payout structures etc - I'm not attempting to single out Bally here as the only manufacturer of these types of games.

San Diego Roulette

In San Diego, USA, roulette is played a little differently to most other places in the world. The roulette layout looks the same - but not all of the tables use a roulette wheel to determine the outcome of the game. The reason is the "California Constitution" which states that "the ball and wheel alone may not determine the outcome in roulette". I'm guessing they've had issues with rigged wheels or similar in the past. In any case, the casinos there won't be beaten into submission by the State of California. Here are some of the ingenious ways the San Diego casinos get around the rule:

At the Pauma and Sycuan casinos, the dealer simply pulls a card from a 38-card deck (includes 0, 00 and all numbers 1-36), simulating a roulette wheel spin. At the Viejas casino, a 38-card deck is also used, but each card is placed on a spinning wheel (a bit like a big six wheel). Where the wheel stops, the card is pulled out and used as the draw result. Pala Casino uses a 38-card deck broken into colours as follows: 12 green, 12 blue, 12 red, and 2 green, and a roulette wheel which has colours only, not values. A card is dealt for each colour. The wheel is spun. When the ball comes to land, the card of that colour is turned over, giving the result.

Harrahs uses a bingo hopper with 76 balls (two each of 0, 00 and each number 1-36) and draws a single number to simulate the draw.

Barona Casino is the only casino to have just 37 results available in its card deck - simulating a SINGLE ZERO roulette wheel. Three cards are dealt from the deck and placed in regions on the table identified as "1-12", "13-24", and "25-36". The roulette wheel is spun. The range the ball lands in (0-12, 13-24, or 25-36) determines which card is flipped over, giving the roulette result.

At the time of writing, Santa Ysabel, Pechanga, La Posta, Valley View and Golden Acorn casino do not offer the game of roulette.

So, the best odds in San Diego are at Barona Casino, with 2.63% odds against the player. The other casinos here have an edge of 5.26% on roulette, due to the DOUBLE ZERO roulette games they offer. (My personal advice: avoid ANY casino game with an edge of 3% or higher - you simply can't beat those kind of odds in the long term).

Luckily, online players get even better value. Whether you live in the USA or not, whether you can make it to San Diego or not, you'll still be much better off playing roulette online. Visit Betfair Casino and play their revolutionary ZERO HOUSE EDGE ROULETTE giving you true odds and payouts. Visit Virgin Casino and play their three-wheel roulette: It has a single zero (so 2.63% edge), but allows you to bet on three roulette wheels at once - so you may get a more even game. Or visit any of the other reputable online casinos we promote - and don't forget our very special "Free Cash for Roulette" promotion on until January 31, 2009.

Have fun playing roulette wherever you play: spin to win!

Cheating Roulette - Legally?

If you've got a spare US$25,000 to $100,000 to "invest" in your roulette game, an interesting website suggests it could help you to make millions at the tables. That website is "Genuine Winner Roulette System". I'm typically against any kind of casino gambling "system" that "guarantees" profits, and I'm also typically against any kind of casino gambling "device". I believe that games should be fair, for both the casino and the player.

I have no proof either way of whether this "hybrid roulette computer" device works - although the site itself makes great claims as to its accuracy (quoting a 1-in-15 win rate on a single number, as opposed to the usual 1-in-37). I do know this much: if I had a spare US$100,000 lying around the house, I probably wouldn't need to play in a casino! That is of course just my personal opinion, and I can't speak for other gamblers.

Maybe this device has a market with those multi-millionaires out there, or with those people who like to take high casino risks. But is it really legal? The site suggests that this device is legal - but also a "cheating device" - but then says that purchasers need to sign an agreement specifying that they won't use the device to play roulette illegally. Isn't cheating illegal? I'm not a lawyer, but it all sounds a bit good to be true. In my local casino, they won't let you have a cellphone on anywhere near the tables / pit - so they're even less likely to let you photograph / video a spinning roulette wheel. And besides, wouldn't casino surveillence pick this up?

Anyway, it's an interesting twist on how to win at roulette. If you've ever used one of these devices and have PROOF one way or the other of their effectiveness, do let me know via email at the usual address.

Free Cash For Roulette

Hi Beat Roulette Wheels blog readers! Yes, it's Christmas time, the time when western nations (and some others) celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, through the coming together of families, the exchange of presents, and the eating of feasts.

I truly hope that all of my Beat Roulette Wheels blog readers have a very Merry Christmas! For some of us, Christmas is a wonderful time filled with fun, love, and excitement. I always remember however that for some Christmas is just another day, or a day filled with sadness (remembering loved ones that have passed on), or stress (and domestic violence), or just sheer poverty and depression. Have you had a winning year? Consider donating some of those winnings to your favourite charity. Have you got spare food after the Christmas Day meals? Consider the age-old Boxing Day tradition and box up food to take to your nearest homeless shelter.

However you spend your Christmas season, may it be a time filled with love, with joy, with peace, and with friends and family. Have a great Christmas everyone!

David - Beat Roulette Wheels

3-Wheel Roulette Here

Virgin Casino have recently launched 3-Wheel Roulette. For a single unit (i.e. $1 or more), this bonus bet returns 1000 to 1 for three zeros, 100 to 1 for three of any number, 50 to 1 for two zeros, 25 to 1 for a straight, 5 to 1 for a pair, or even money for a colour match on all three wheels. Whilst the odds on hitting some of these combinations are high (and therefore, the bet should generally be avoided), bettors who enjoy taking risks towards long shot bets might enjoy the challenge (and resulting wins). 3-Wheel Roulette can be played for free, or for real cash. The house edge on the American Roulette wheel (double zero) is 5.26%. Therefore, always play on the European Roulette wheel if you can.

2) The house edge on the European Roulette wheel where the En-Prison rule is in force for even money bets is just 1.35%. This is an excellent edge - but it's very difficult to find this game variation.

3) The house edge on Betfair Casino Zero Edge Roulette is ZERO, because there is NO ZERO on the wheel. If you can play online at Betfair Casino, do so - this is the very best bet you will find for roulette online or offline! (See Roulette - NO House Edge).

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_VtBqfaAxfGA/R1iGa9CV-TI/AAAAAAAAAAk/nw-LGtrm-vc/s320/betfair1.JPG" border="0" alt="Play roulette now with ZERO house edge"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5141006772262533426" />
4) Avoid the five number bet on the American Roulette table (0, 00, 1, 2 and 3) which has the biggest house edge in Roulette (7.89%). This is the worst bet you can possibly make on any Roulette table.

5) Realise that Roulette is not a game of skill - and that it's a game of luck. The only truly reliable strategy you can use at Roulette, on account of the house edge, is to manage your money in such a way that when you do you have a lucky streak, you are able to pick up your casino chips (real, or virtual) and walk away.

Play now: Play electronic ZERO edge roulette at Betfair, play traditional electronic roulette at Cyberslotz, Littlewoods, Virgin Casino, Casino.com, or play live Roulette at Liveroulette.com or Coral Casino. It's fun to play this way, and it offers a novel alternative to electronic-only casinos. That said, SuperCasino does also offer slots, and other electronic games. I was reading an interesting book the other day, the Secrets of Winning Roulette by Marten Jensen, and it got me wondering about this very topic.

The Secrets of Winning Roulette book (published in 2002 or thereabouts) devotes quite a bit of paper to the thought that biased wheels could exist. I'm not sure on my own views on this. I guess it's possible that there could be some bias on older technology wheels, although I doubt it is likely on newly engineered wheels which would have higher manufacturing precision.

That said, how would a typical player determine if a particular wheel was biased? According to the book (and I paraphrase), it's worth showing interest in any wheel where a number has won more than 10 times in 200 spins, and where each of the adjacent numbers to that number are also winning more times than the average. What is the average? Roughly 1 in every 37 or 38 times (depending on the wheel being played - circa 2.63%). So a number which win 10 times in 200 spins is acheiving an average of about 5% (almost double the normal average).

In principle it all sounds great: watch the wheel, find it has bias, bet your chips, and rake in the cash! But it's not that simple. I think it would take a typical player 3-4 hours to gather their 200-spin data set. However, also according to the book, the player might want to take two or three data sets before risking their money - because the data just collected might have just been a "spike" from standard deviation. To my mind, 600 spins might well take 10 hours or thereabouts to take note of. That seems a lot of time to me, and hardly worthwhile unless the bets the player is going to make are substantial.

More worrying, every casino has surveillence. Surely someone in the pit or in the eye-in-the-sky above would be questioning the intent of a person sitting near the roulette wheels noting their numbers for 10 hours straight? Or am I mistaken?

Whether roulette wheels are biased or not, I still believe there's no foolproof system to beat them in the long term. There are various tools and software products (for use with online casinos) that might assist short term players - but in the end, the more you play, the more you pay. I wish it was the more you spin, the more you win. Saying that, if you know of a biased wheel near you, do let me know. I'm happy to be proven wrong (after we've both made a sackful of cash on that wheel)!

FOBT Style Roulette

If you like the Roulette game found on the ITBox Fixed Odds Betting Terminals (FOBT) in all William Hill and similar bookmakers shops in the UK, then you'll no doubt be delighted to hear that you can now play a very similar game online with Betfair Casino. Yes, rather than having to physically visit a William Hill (or other) bookies, you can sit at home in the comfort of your pyjamas, and play ITBox style roulette at your own convenience, and without getting pestered by the local homeless guys for change (trust me, I had that happen many times when playing at the bookmakers - William Hill, Coral, Paddy Power and others). Isn't the Internet great? You can now beat the bookies from your own home avoiding all that travel and hassle!

The Betfair Casino version of this William Hill ITBox style roulette game is called Pinball Roulette. It's a little different to the William Hill version in that the pinball area itself is a bit more interactive (with bumpers etc), but apart from that its basically the same game. The bonus also works a little differently - you can get up to 10x your winnings with the Betfair bonus version, whereas the William Hill roulette that I used to play had a maximum 3x bonus available. The wheel is made up of 37 numbered sections - so is a single zero (2.63% house edge) game. Payoffs for numbers are exactly the same as in normal roulette (i.e. straight up number is 35 to 1, split number is 17 to 1 etc). The roulette betting layout is the same as usual (see below) - but with wheel sections additionally easier to bet on by simply clicking on numbers in a line at the base of the screen.

<img src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_VtBqfaAxfGA/R8C0sdQEtSI/AAAAAAAAAEM/rAxGo3XHCzk/s400/betroul1.JPG" border="0" alt="Pinball Roulete - Beat the Casinos"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5170331048080618786" />

When you press bet the screen changes and the pinball game begins. The pinball enters the playing field, and then bounces off nails and bumpers until it reaches its final destination at the base of the screen (a single number).

<img src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_VtBqfaAxfGA/R8C0stQEtTI/AAAAAAAAAEU/HtRXtWWKXu0/s400/betroul2.JPG" border="0" alt="Pinball Roulette - Beat the Casinos"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5170331052375586098" />

You are then told the outcome of your bet (just as you are in the William Hill ITbox version). You can either collect your winnings, or gamble them. If you choose to gamble, the playing field changes again and another pinball is released. If you're lucky the gamble will result in a win of 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or even 10x your winnings stake (and if not, well, you took a gamble right?).

<img src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_VtBqfaAxfGA/R8C0s9QEtUI/AAAAAAAAAEc/o3bfJvHs6Vc/s400/betroul3.JPG" border="0" alt="Pinball Roulette - Beat the Casinos"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5170331056670553410" />

Pinball Roulette from Betfair Casino is a great game to play, and I believe it will be very popular. Don't forget that Betfair Casino offer a match play casino bonus to new players, of up to £75 (terms and conditions of usage are on their website). It is in fact possible to play ROULETTE with NO HOUSE EDGE online. How? With one of my favourite online casinos, Betfair.

Betfair are the ONLY casino online that I'm aware of, that offer roulette with NO ZERO on the wheel. This means that you can play roulette at TRUE ODDS. If you hit a single number you get 35 to 1 - but as there are only 36 numbers on the wheel and no zero, this is TRUE ODDS. If you hit red or black you get 1 to 1 - and this a truly EVEN chance. For roulette players everywhere, this is a breakthrough, and well worth shouting about (and playing)! It's the fairest casino game you'll ever find!

I've played with Betfair (casino and sportsbook and exchange games) for about 4 years now, and they've always been incredibly professional, and very fast to pay. They're ideal for UK players especially - taking UK debit cards etc for payment with NO charge for accepting them. Some casinos I've used (i.e. www.expekt.com) do charge (at time of writing), often up to 1.5% commission. Betfair is a market leader and I've NEVER ever had a single payment / game problem with them. Betfair have an impressive head office in Hammersmith, London. I believe these guys are here to stay - it's no "fly by night" operation (from my own personal experience of many years).

So, are there any limitations to this zero house edge roulette game? Only this: the minimum bet on a straight up number is 2GBP, and the maximum you can bet on the table at any time is 50GBP. So if you like to play numbers "straight up" you can only bet on 25 of them at a time. Of course if you play splits / dozens / columns / corners or other combinations, then this maximum bet doesn't really affect things - i.e. you could play 18 splits at 2GBP each for a total of 36GBP - and NEVER LOSE! However I've included a screenshot from the game so that you can see the table limits etc...

Here's a picture of the Betfair roulette in action:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_VtBqfaAxfGA/R1iGa9CV-TI/AAAAAAAAAAk/nw-LGtrm-vc/s320/betfair1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5141006772262533426" />
Here's a further picture with the table limits shown:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_VtBqfaAxfGA/R1iGi9CV-UI/AAAAAAAAAAs/b31Bk0UX1_Y/s320/betfair2.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5141006909701486914" />
Maybe you're a current player of the William Hill ItBox FOBT (Fixed Odds Betting Terminals), or the Betfred ItBox FOBT (Fixed Odds Betting Terminals), or the Ladbrokes roulette machines, or the Tote Global Draw roulette machines. Perhaps you play live roulette in a real casino like a Gala Casino, Hard Rock Casino, Stanleys Casino, London Clubs casino, Ladbrokes Paddington Casino, Grosvenor Casino. All of these places provide unique atmospheres and environments in which to play your favourite casino game (roulette) - but none that I'm aware of give you the chance to play roulette with ZERO HOUSE EDGE like Betfair do. If you're not yet playing online, and want a safe and reputable casino to start with, then Betfair are a site I'm personally happy to recommend.

So, why do Betfair offer roulette with no house edge? Simply, this is about making their brand stand out as unique, and offering fantastic value for money. Betfair also offer other casino games which do have some house edge (slots, roulette, blackjack etc) and also offer great person-to-person betting which has a commission attached to winning bets. Clearly then Betfair hope that you'll become a long term and loyal player and occasionally play games other than the zero house edge games (Zero Blackjack, Zero Roulette, Zero Baccarat, Zero Jacks or Better (video poker)). But you of course are always in control, and you alone can decide which games you play.

For new members of Betfair Casino, Betfair offer a 75GBP match play offer with fairly lightweight playing restrictions. You've got a really good chance to win (again from my own personal experience - and yes, I DID win on this offer!).

I wish you all the very best of luck with Betfair, and I'm sure you'll enjoy playing the only roulette game I know of online with zero house edge!

Please do let me know your thoughts, and how you get on.

Avoid Roulette Systems

Arrrrrrgh. The web is becoming overrun with casino-topic sites that promise great wealth and riches for "just a small investment of $79!". Avoid ALL systems for roulette where you have to PAY for the information. Simply, most of these systems are simply not worth the money!

Here are just some of the CRAZY roulette system sites I've come across lately - I DO NOT ENDORSE (or even lightly encourage) ANY OF THEM! I'm hoping that by showing you just a handful of some of the "system" sites that are out there, that you'll work out for yourself that BUYING any roulette or gambling system is a BAD IDEA.

Avoid Visual Roulette System. Why? Using this device could (I believe) get you arrested, or at the very least barred from casinos. It's a "cheating device" - and most surveillence systems in casinos will pick it up using infra red or similar technology.

Avoid Roulette Systems. Why? It's a great domain but a HORRIBLE website - I just can't take a website that looks this bad and is this hard to read seriously. I can't fathom what the "system" itself looks like in book form... Besides, if the system is that good it doesn't need 50 pages of information to sell it!

Avoid Roulette From the Dealer. Why? The "system" is nothing more than choose 8 numbers each spin, based upon a wheel position... and they want $79 USD for this "secret"! So, you pay $79 USD to get a system which gives you a 21.6% chance of winning on any spin (8/37)... and a 78.4% chance of LOSING!

Avoid Flaw found in Roulette. Why? Another $39 USD system that promises the world, and comes with a guarantee (but you must take a full year to try it out!!!). I'd like to see the testimonials from the hundreds of players who've NOT made money with the system being sold. Roulette does have a flaw, but that flaw is the ZERO on the wheel which eats away at user profits and creates the HOUSE EDGE.

These anti-recommendations are simply my PERSONAL opinion. You need to make up your own mind on whether or not to use these sites... There are literally hundreds of similar sites on the Internet. My PERSONAL advice is to avoid them all - but your call!

Beat Roulette Machines

Whilst it is (potentially) possible to beat roulette in the short term (and I'll cover this in more detail in future), it would appear almost impossible to beat roulette on a machine - at least here in the UK. That's not to say that you can't win from time to time, but the long term edge against you COULD be far from the typical single-zero 2.63% that would result from a true, unbiased, roulette wheel.

That's if the forum comments about this in the Winner Online forums are true - which you can read here. I'm not endorsing those comments or otherwise - but they do raise a certain amount of suspicion regarding the programming algorithms used on these machines, and their ultimate payback percentages. (Of course, to be fair to the manufacturers, these are just other people's personal comments...)

The UK FOBT (Fixed Odds Betting Terminals) machines are just one derivative / type of roulette machine possible. Every machine created will have its own algorithms and ways of establishing winners. I'd like to assume that all machines are subject to law, and that the law insists that games like roulette are played to normal casino rules and hold percentages. But that could be a dangerous assumption.

I've played the FOBT machines here in the UK in various bookmakers over the last year or two, and my experience of them has not been overly favourable. I've certainly made money off them from time to time, but I've also had a lot of "highly suspicious results" from them - i.e. 4 zeros in a row, 13 red numbers in a row, 6 numbers in one dozen in a row etc... whilst these can of course happen in any gambling session, the odds against them seem exponential. Would they appear as often on a real roulette wheel?

Note: my barring from UK casinos is the ONLY reason I instead play on UK FOBT machines in bookmakers, and on online casino roulette wheels.

So, read and make up your own mind - but my personal advice (from my own personal experience): beware the UK FOBT. They might play fairly, but they might not - and if that's the case then the returns could be even lower than your typical slot machine payout percentage. With no reliable manufacturer forums found on the Internet in which this is confirmed once and for all, I'm steering clear.

Let me know about your own experience with these terminals if you've played them. Leave comments or email me directly here.

Responsible Gambling

This might seem like a given, an obvious thing, but the main purpose for this blog (and its sister blogs, Beat the Casinos, and Beat the Slots) is to allow you, the player, to find out about the range of roulette games you can play, and also to learn strategies that might make you money in casinos and UK bookmakers (fobt roulette) - or allow you to hold your own and / or extend your playing time. I'd not like to be responsible for you actually losing money / giving it away to the huge monolithic corporations that own these palaces of chance. So I'd like to offer this responsible gambling information:

For most people, recreational gambling is a fun pastime that provides good quality entertainment value - lights, glamour, socialising, with a shot of adrenalin, and the chance to actually be paid while you play. However, it can be addictive, and for some people, it can become an all-encompassing passion - which like any addiction, can lead to problems.

These are some basic rules to apply when gambling which might alleviate some of this risk:

1) Never play with money you cannot afford to lose. (Whilst this blog will try to offer you advice to improve your chances of "holding your own" or extending your playing time, there can still be "bad runs of luck").

2) Never chase your losses - i.e. if you have a £100 budget, and lose it, don't spend another £500 trying to get it back. Have a "loss limit" and stick to it... in the same vein, you need to have a "win limit" - a point of winning at which you'll also walk away (to ensure that you do in fact take some of the casino's money home with you)...

3) View gambling as entertainment, not an investment. This is important and I believe one of the key factors that will allow you to avoid addiction. Gaming is occasional fun, which if kept within financial and time limits, can be hugely satisfying - but playing 24 hours per day is overstepping the boundaries of fun.

4) Never put gambling ahead of your partner, family, friends, career, community life.

5) If at any point you feel you are losing control, STOP. If you cannot stop on your own, seek help from organisations such as Gamcare (www.gamcare.org.uk), Gamblers Anonymous (www.gamblersanonymous.com), or a Citizens Advice Bureau office. In the absence of these organisations in your area, you might also find talking to a health professional or faith worker useful / helpful.

There are of course many other rules which could apply - but I hope that the above are useful. It's important as with any game to respect the rules of play: play often, play well - but never play beyond your means, and never play to excess. Moderation is always the key. May good luck follow us all whenever we play. :-)

Beat Roulette Wheels Blog

Welcome to Beat Roulette Wheels, the brand new blog and sister site to the Beat The Casinos blog, and the Beat The Slots blog.
