I came across this company a while ago, but as I am searching for wallpaper for the nursery, Spoonflower sells beautiful fabrics and wallpapers, and if you are a creative bee, you van upload your own design as well.

How pretty is this walk in closet, it was designed by Shelley Cahan of Shelley and company. Love the greek key on the shade and look at that huge tassel hanging from the lamp.

Thanks so much for all your well wishings on the new pregnancy! I am totally in awe with the lovely comments!

I love Parisian apartments, many of them are with nicely decorated ceilings and walls and of course a marble fire place. They weather these days are rainy and cold and that is what attracted me to this apartment, dark, masculine but you can see yourself here with a an oversized cashmere sweater sipping a hot tea after you did your shopping in Le Marais district. Fortunately I have been many times to this romantic city and I can not get enough of it. I love Paris!

Another favorite is the herringbone floor.

The reason of my absence lately...

Hello luv´s! This is the reason for my absence lately, and I am so happy I can finally say that I am 8 weeks pregnant! I have been telling friends these days and I am astonished many of them ask if we were looking for a second baby so soon? Yes we were. I always have wanted 2 kids. I grew up as a happy only child but believe me I would commit ....anything... to have a brother or a sister, so if you have brothers or sisters, treasure that! I am due in the beginning of January 2014, Matt will be almost 2 years then. I am bullied with nausea, and I forgot how it was to be pregnant in the first trimester, uuuuh.

Hopefully soon I feel a bit better and I am back to posting often. Yesterday I had a girl from London visiting our place, and I had to say I was a bit shy to show her around, with Matt now walking and running trought the house nothing is neat! The house is a mess, ooo what would it be with 2 kids?

A few weeks ago when we were on a short visit to Holland I snapped these cute pictures of Matteo during our visit at the goat farm that is in the heart of Amsterdamse bos ( Amsterdam forest) A lovely way to educate little children where milk and cheese comes from as they have all sorts of life stock as cows, ducks, ponys but especially goats.

If you visit Amsterdam with kids, please go to the goat farm for an unforgettable experience.

White sofa

When I decorated our apartment for the first time, 10 years ago, I was very into the minimalistic theme until I discovered blogs and my style evolved ever since. Then sofa then bought was according to my then style, now I look at it and it does not move me.

I really crave a white sofa, really bad. I feel the urgent need to bring my sofa to a re upholsterer and have it delivered back to me in a pretty white fabric.

But having a 15 month old busy kid, will this be sofa suicide?

Anyone with a white sofa that can relate to me or that has a good tip? Please let me know.

I absolutely love the baby animal pictures I have in Matteo´s Nursery, we say good night to them

and sing them songs. The photographer behind these pictures is the talented Sharon Monrose of the animal print shop. As animals besides dogs can´t really pose, it´s fun but difficult job to get that perfect pic. I was reading this interview from one of my favorite blogs a cup of Jo.

You must have been laying underneath a rock if you don't know about the abdication of our Queen Beatrix, who was Queen for 33 years. The 30th of April was the last Queensday ever.

I am still proud of being from Holland, it's a lovely country and we love our monarchy. Maxima looked lovely with het dress made by Dutch designer Jan Taminiau. I am so proud Willem maried a beautifull Argentinian woman, we need dome latin spirit in this monarchy.

They had lunch at the Rijksmuseum, wich was currently opened to the public after many years of renovation.

I really like the gold Chiavari chairs, many times used for weddings and other festivitys...

Absolutely my favorite fabric: bold & geometric patterned. It turns any room into a chic and sophisticated room. The black and withe pattern is my favorite, but it comes in a sever color options.

I keep seeing the Smeg refrigerators everywhere, and I can´t blame them, they are pretty! Their design fits every decor and the come in nice colors. The above one is my favorite. I can imagine it in my future beach house ( yeah I am an optimistic dreamer).

Our weekend

Our weekend flew by as we went to Amsterdam as we were invited by dear friends to join their wedding. The lovely couple stand on the steps of the entrance of West Indisch huis historic building as where the mother and father of the bride were standing many years ago when they got married.

The beautiful and romantic table, I loved the fact it was one big table to sit and be able to look at all faces. It was great to have had a reunion with our dear friends.

The wedding was beautiful and intimate, just the way I like it.

I had some time left to do furniture shopping with my mum. There are always great flower shops in and near Amsterdam.

Mr Beau had time to tour with my father on the motorbikes, having lunch on route and enjoy the day doing guy stuff.

Our baby Matt, was at his other grandma´s house, letting us have couple time. He learned how to brush his teeth, as most of the times he also enjoys biting the brushy side of it.

My weekend was amazing!

This is one of my pride and joy pieces at our home. I have been blessed with such sweet parents giving me this vintage letter closet ( no idea what you call it in english) to store beads and material for my other business. It´s a closet with many flat drawers for lead letters that they used for making newspapers. U probably have seen a drawer mounted on a wall with little figurines in it. Well this is the complete thing. We painted it white so it would look better in our decor.

So happy to have everything organized!

Vintage trunk and suitcases painted white

These trunk and suitcases are the vintage ones my mum and me we bought on flea markets. They are already lovely in their brown colors, but I wanted to have them clean and painted in white so they would match the idea I had for Matteo´s Nursery. I posted about Matteo´s nursery before here.

I changed a bench for the vintage trunk and suitcases so toys, small clothes and other things can be saved in there. I changed the rug for a bargellow white and navy one bought at Zara home.

Thank you all for commenting on the blog exchange I have enjoyed reading the blogs of Home change home, the shingled house, Baum squad and House@heart. Please visit and read these blogs on lifestyle, decoration, DIY and family life.
I am back after being away for a few days, it was easter holidays and had my parents over for a few days to spend some quality time with our little Matt, how lovely was that, I already miss them.
They brought over many many goodies for our home...geee, where to start, it involves vintage trunks, vintage suitcases and a special closet. I will promise to take pictures and post them on this blog soon. I am also back to work, as my daily work pays the bills, it has to come before blogging, even though I notice my mind drifting away from my work sometimes thinking of tiles, fabrics and what to change next in my home. Matt is been sweet but oh so naughty, he also suffers that most of his teeth are coming through. He looks like a big boy now.

Chic gold legs and a vinyl monogram purchased in derikson´s etsy shop. The easiest DIY ever done. I am on the run, got to pick up Matt from daycare, will read your comments and reply soon!

Tea Station

Hello! How was your weekend, mine was lovely, it´s great to be back and to be healthy, I am full of energy and I feel I have missed out on so many blogposts! I did nice things this weekend with Mr Beau and Baby Matteo, and had some time to rearrange some things in the house. I am still very fond of the lucite side table I bought in Zara home a few years ago, I had beautiful antique glass decanters placed on top of it, but with Matteo´s fingers touching them, I was afraid he might break them and so I stored them away. Now I use it as a tea station, I drink a lot of Chinese green tea, and these things all together could break, but are not that fragile as antique decanters.

Good quality wrapping paper with snake skin print I have placed underneath the lucite top on my wooden chest, I am very happy with the result.

All pictures taken with my new iphone 5, thanks dad for giving it to me as a present, love you!

Hello everyone, you might ask where have you been? I have been ill, I still am. Sinusitis, Gastritis, Flu...you name it and I have had them these days, also baby Matteo was sick and now mr Beau got it too.

I am recovering and happily sitting behind my computer sharing this pretty picture from the march edition of the Lonny magazine.

I am still loving the combination of lucite and gold, snake skin tray, cow hide and that desk+chair, just beautifull. Only thing I would change is the lamp, too granny style for this space.

Matteo´s birthday

Wow, these days are passing by fast. Saturday we celebrated Matteo´s 1st birthday for a couple of friends and close family. We did little party preparations, balloons, garland and home made food.

Just to give you an idea as I felt a little under the weather and didn´t shoot some pictures during the party.
