It's hard to believe I started this Blog back in 2009. I have had some good months and some bad. Not always keeping up on my posts. As some of you may know Rick is graduating with a web design degree very soon! He created a new "family" blog for us to post together. I am actually really excited to see what we can do as a creative team. I am not sure if I will keep this one going. For now I will try to post solely from the new BLOG. Check it out...It is a work in progress but will be fully supported soon.

So Rick picked up new phones for us today! I am so excited to use it!!! It's like a special gift is waiting for me at home. I am drooling over this gold polka dot case from Kate Spade. I think it would be perfect for me.

I don't know why I haven't been into blogging lately. I guess summer took hold of me and I wasn't in the mood. I might be a seasonal blogger. However with the leaves falling off and the weather turning colder I am thinking about stepping it up a notch. Starting with our costumes from Halloween. I decided last minute that Rick and I should be Mickey and Minnie. I made my bloomers and skirt. Not overly creative but fun non the less.

Rick will be graduating a few months and I can't wait to see what is next for us. He will have a BA in web design. Once he settles into a new job we talked about creating a new family blog. He will post weekly as will I on differing subjects. Maybe we will get this started in the new year. Until then I will post here.

So it's true Rick and I have an unhealthy obsession with new Balance and unlike my husband I only own 1 pair. I just bought a few new pairs for him on Gilt. He loves the funky color combinations.

Do you ever shop on Gilt? This is actually also where I bought my gorgeous wedding shoes.

SUMMER TIME

It's officially summer...I think. I feel like this spring in Minneapolis was not cool. The weather has not been our side and actually right now it is raining. It's almost the 4th of JULY! I am learning I need to be a more positive person. After recent feedback at work I guess I have a bad attitude sometimes. My husband tends to agree. I guess I can't fully deny the accusations however I thought I once was more of an optimistic, glass half full kind of a girl. Again another reassuring reason my blog name is right on.. At least I am hopeful I will change.

Speaking of CHANGE... See the incredible transformation of Bacon- you remember my once little puppy. I also posted a new video we took with him playing at the fountain. Rick and I still love him dearly but he is SO BIG and needs so much training. I feel like we will be training him for a life time.

Isn't he So cute! We are taking him on his first camping trip next week. Although I am excited to be in the wilderness with him - I am not sure how I feel about sharing a tent and not having a safe walled in home to leave him in if we need a break. I guess we will see. I am going to try and be a bit more loyal in the postings. But with so much craziness in my life I cannot promise you anything. I do however promise to blog about what has been causing the craziness the next time I post. Until then enjoy the fun video's.

I was doing a little web-shopping and found this AMAZING summer bag. Rick told me I could have my whole bonus this year for my doing. If I really followed his direction I might splurge on this bag from anthropologie.

However I think there are better things to do with our bonus like...finally create and print our wedding album, or save for a trip that we both deserve, or sign up for a yoga class, pay a credit card off... the list goes on. So I won't buy this amazing summer bag quite yet but it is lovely!

BIG BABY

SO my sister finally had her first baby. It was a BOY and he was almost 10 lbs. He is the most adorable little man I have seen in a long time. He looks a lot like my brother in law. No I have not been home to visit yet but we plan to go first thing in April. Meet my 2nd nephew Sawyer Christian Lehnert.

Now this post could be entirely about my sisters baby but in fact it is about how I have been a BIG baby! I hurt my back about a month ago, have been complaining about the weather, how I wish our house were cleaner, complaining about work, complaining about making dinner, the long commute I have every day, taking Bacon outside, and basically everything else I can think about. Rick can no longer take it.

I don't mean to complain. I am grateful my back is finally feeling better, that the snow is starting to melt, that Rick helps me when we both find energy to clean, that I have a job and a good one at that, that we can actually afford to make dinner or go out on occasion, that I have a way to get to work, that Bacon is finally potty trained... but sometimes verbally complaining makes me feel like I have gotten it off my chest. Maybe I should start taking my verbal frustrations up with the Lord. I know he wants to hear from me and this way my husband won't think I am a BIG BABY.

Life has a curious way of getting away from me. One minute I turn and look and I have plenty of time until Christmas, the next minute I turn around it is the end of January... Christmas and New Years are long gone, I'm in a new job, with new shoes, and a new need for a vacation. Speaking of NEW Rick returned home from a weekend with the boys with what I will now refer to as "cheveron -Tom". That is if I combine the above Stache posters. He says he looks like Mario...I say it's simply not his best look. I prefer the full stuble - and I say stuble because it's sexier than a full beard. Any way I am definitly not focused on the task at hand which should be Year End Reviews. Instead I thought I would right a short little note saying I wil re dedicate myself to posting once a week. Also promising to include my own photography in half of those posts! Hugs and Kisses and heres hoping this week is a bit slower for not only me but you too!!

So it seams I am ending this year the same way I started it...with Hives! What a sad day! Turns out I am in fact allegic to something...scented lotions. My skin hates it, especially in the winter. This past Saturday I ran out of Aveeno lotion and decided to lather on the nice scent of Vanilla Bean Noel from Bath and Body works to moisturize. However sadly after almost a full 24 hours I started to itch and noticed I had Hives all over my body...even my nack and face are breaking out. Last year they lasted 3 weeks. I really hope I can kick them sooner this time. It will take all my strength not to focus on the itch.

I should be sketching bodies for Back 2 School 2011....I have however had a long day and I just can't do anymore creative thinking. But I do have time to dream a little about Christmas and how I wish I had a tree to look at when I get home tonight. Rick and I have been putting way too much on our to do list that we still have not decorated for the season...I mean we bought a beautiful fresh wreath but still no lights and no tree. Is it worth it if we put it up this weekend and are not home for Christmas? Is it worth it just to watch the lights glow? I promise I would leave it up until the new year...

As you all know winter is here. And it has been snowing a lot lately in Minnesota. You would think I would have a pair of quality winter boots. Especially since I have lived in the midwest from birth. However as my dad likes to put it I choose fashion over function. At 28 I think I need to move closer to function. Not sure how closely I will let myself go but I can't keep choosing fashion. I took Bacon to the dog park the other day and wore my semi fashionable winter boots. After arriving home cold about 2 hours later I noticed I had black toes.. Mind you I was wearing socks.. The Black from the die on my boots bled through onto my feet. I think its time to grow up and buy for function!

o.k. Lets at least compromise...Sorel Caribou Boots @ J. Crew and other stores near you.

My wonderful, sweet, charming, loving, and smart husband is perfect for me! However he never knows how to shop for me. He needs subtle hints - especially since I hate above all things saying please buy me ...X...Y...Z. Alas I have only one alternative to drop subtly ideas for him around occasional gift giving times of the year. I will be dropping said subtle hints through out the month of December to help any one who has told me I am difficult to shop for.

Someday I hope to make this a reality... Think a real grown up space with real furniture. I think this will have to become a reality in bits and pieces. The furniture piece will have to wait until we have the money and Rick is done with school. But to keep the dreams alive for now....

I LOVE thee depth the Black wall adds to this small room - which is perfect for our space.

the DRAMA of the HIGH head board also LOVE the grey walls.... I guess I could make this happen with some craftiness.

This is really DREAMING... LARGE windows, Large space..someday.

Last weekend Rick and I went to the Apple Orchard in Carver County with our Favorite little Family...The Lopah's. Sometimes I get tired just thinking about having a family with 3 kids...But then I get tired with just Bacon. Anyway we had amazing weather and took some new fun pictures too!

Some of you may know that this Saturday is my Birthday. It's not a milestone but a birthday none the less. I have compiled a small list of some things I am wishing for these days. I hope this helps my husband the most. He says I am hard to shop for.

Something little and fun like cute masking tape...hey its creativity for every day uses - foud on nonesuch things ( I am not suggesting that I get tape from my husband), 3. Adorable Alfred Shopper from Lisa Stickley in waterproof oilcloth canvas. 4. Mini Cupcakes by Melissa...YUM! I remember trying these when I was in NY last fall with Ruthann. 5. Aadorable bow headband from Emmadime..Honestly everything on her site is so cute!, 6. Splurgworthy blush brush in the softest of bristles...I honestly don't even care if it's a name brand brush I just want to be pampered.

So last weekend Rick, Bacon, and I drove the 5 plus hours to Milwaukee. To our surprise Bacon slept almost the whole way. He LOVES being in the car. We spent lots of time with my brothers kids and I took out the camera once again to shoot them in action. They are definitely a lot more expressive then they used to be. Elijah is full of funny faces and actually likes being in front of the camera now.

Little Elizabeth is really growing into her features. I think she is becoming such a pretty mix of my brother and her mommy. The sweatshirt she is wearing is one of my designs. I love it!! Buy you’re here online or at your local Target Store. P.Ss it comes in Pink too...

I had the Lucky opportunity to attend Junk Bonanza in Shakopee last Friday for a creative off site. It was so inspiring! Around every corner new and exciting things were displayed so perfectly. Take a peek at all the wonderful vintage and not so vintage items I gawked at all day Friday.

Previously you saw my mini post on the cake topper I made for L & J's wedding. I was asked to make a PIE topper for S & K's county fair themed wedding. When she first approached me with her idea I was very skeptical...How long would this take me...Can't you just buy it...How am I going to sew teeny tiny clothes...??? However, like I discover with most projects I start I am truly overtaken by excitement and energy once I start seeing the fruits of my labor. It was well worth the hours I put into it and I know S & K LOVED it!

Some may say I missed my calling but I think I have just opened a door. Please feel free to contact me - I can start taking orders now.... (I can't forget to Thank my wonderful Hubby who has a passion for miniatures and single handedly took on making the mini glasses!)

I can't believe it has already been almost 2 weeks since S & K tied the knot at Overlook Farms. It was an amazing 9 hour journey and the weekend that preceeded was SO worth every mile we drove. Here are a few pictures of my dear friend Kates' parents lovely farm in Iowa. We had a nice stay complete with zuchinni bread for breakfast and fresh brewed coffee.

The farm used to be used as a Hog farm but is now used primarily for corn and soy beans.

I saw this old bike and had to take a picture. I just LOVE my iphone hipstamatic camera.

We threw The Most Amazing Golden Party for Rick's Golden Birthday. We all had a LOT of Fun!! My Sisters even drove in for the fun and helpped me plan and set up! Almost everyone wore something "golden in color".
