First, let me share with you how the whole process began with the birth of the Palette Wand™.  Three years ago, we were at an event where we were selling customizable palettes.  Customers would pick out their colors and we would add them to a 3 or 5 pan palette of their choice.  Our challenge was lifting out the pans of colors fast enough from the storage display without touching the product with fingers and placing them inside the palettes at a fast pace to keep up with shoppers with no damage.

Every time I tried to lift the pans out carefully with my palette knife or finger, I would either scrape and damage the product which I could no longer sell it or ended up chipping my nails from the sharp edges of the metal pans AND getting product stuck underneath my nails!  This drove me crazy because there is nothing worst than wasting good product and dirty chipped nails!  Not good when representing BEAUTY with your hands!

So I came up with this idea and created the Palette Wand™ for fast and easy removal to and from palettes and it made my job so much easier when it came to packaging up eye shadows for shipment to our clients.  Now Beauricua would like for you to enjoy the ease of organizing your palette and a great tool to keep in your kit.  Enjoy the video and spread the word around for the Palette Wand™.  Thanks you!

During our recent photo shoot, I had to constantly put down my camera, and kept retouching ONLY her right eye in between shots.  The condition got to the point where the false eyelash strip would no longer adhere and started to detached.  This drove me crazy and my dear client, Paula has always shied away from wearing eye shadows and falsies because of this chronic condition and it was her first time wearing any type of eye makeup product.

SOLUTION

1. Remove all the eye shadow, mascara and falsies from both eyes.
2. Make sure the both eyelids are completely dry before starting again.
3. Start with the teary eye first so you can see how well it holds up while working on the non-teary eye.
4. To double check for moisture, take a two ply of any tissue brand, separate, place the single ply over the eye lid to remove any oily residue from the makeup remover and blot gingerly with ring finger.
5. Take a soft fluffy blending brush and pick up some invisible or translucent powder and quickly dust the eye lid right on top of the single ply tissue for extra dryness, tap with ring finder then remove tissue.
6. Start adding a cream eye shadow instead of a powder formula and blot the cream eye shadow to remove excess.
7. Applying lashes: Single strip – Cut the strip lash in half and use the end with the longest lashes.  Individual lashes, apply the lashes from the outside corner of the eye and yield at the middle as far away from the inner corners.  If you apply and place the lashes correctly, you will not need any mascara and suggest staying away from it in this case, even water-proof.  Problem solved!

Trust me ladies, this really works!  Because I put it through the test by testing it with baby oil or mineral oil using a pippet to see how well it would hold up and it did!  My hubby was away on buisness and my assistant called in sick.  I was really stressed out and overwhelmed, but was grateful that all that hard work we put into this project turned out well at the end with a great woman.  Thanks a bunch Paula!!!!!  Couldn’t have done it without you!

I have been so busy with business responsibilities, preparing for my second semester of photographer school, and putting together a production for a video shoot, that I haven’t had the time to really play around with my new gear.  I needed a subject to photograph and wanted someone that really had a great sense of fashion and style with a provocative edgy look but sophisticated at the same time.

I called upon my girl and long-time devoted user of Beauricua’s products, Paula Smith-Thomas to sit in as my subject.  Paula and I were very excited and it was our first time working together on a makeup application and photo session.  We collaborated together and put together a wardrobe of out-fits and spent to whole entire day shooting this project.

I was very confident with the makeup application and the look we going for, but was a little nervous with the photo shoot because it was my first time using studio quality lighting equipment and had no makeup or photography assistant to give me a hand.  Needless to say, I was a bit overwhelmed.  Paula was absolutely wonderful, I couldn’t have asked for a better model even if I had paid for one at top dollar!  Not only is she beautiful, but was kind enough to assist me in putting all the equipment away after my drama of breaking, not just one, but two soft box bulbs while trying to fold up a collapsible background and stood with me to the very end and even hug out a bit.  Thanks Paula!
