Dear Beauricua Fans,

I wish to share some fun and exciting news with you for my first blog post of 2013.  I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude for all of our new and old fans and to our loyal customers that have been with me since we launched Beauricua Cosmetics on May 12, 2007.

Thinking back when we first started, how exciting and challenging it was embarking on a new business endeavor.  I was fully aware of how hard things would get and the long hours I was going to have to invest into growing a business.  I’ve had many long nights working on projects, like our custom blended wedding, sweet-sixteen, engagement and other types of event favors unto the weird hours in the morning and hitting the rooster on it’s head!  Well…it’s now 2013 and we are here and still going strong!  I can’t believe on May 12, 2013 will be our 6th year anniversary!

So what’s NEW for Beauricua in 2013?  Beauricua is undergoing major changes, a NEW brand of cosmetics to be launched this spring, (I’m hoping on the 12th of May) called GRAB.  Our baby company of GRAB COSMETICS, will have a gourmet approach to custom blended cosmetics with a touch of savvy, chic and sleek.  GRAB will be housed in our new multi-functional black components with more product inside for your money, AND with a variety of choices in one simple piece!

So, to make this happen, I’m hosting my first event called: Betty’s Private Stash & Photo Event to display our products in our platinum packaging at a crazy clearance discount to make room for GRAB cosmetics!  Just to give you an idea of how crazy the deals are going to be, our lipsticks that retail for $25.00 will be sold at our event for $12.00!  Yup, you read it right!  And that goes for the rest of items I kept in my “Private Stash” that I was able to save from hurricane Sandy.  We have many fun surprises planned at this event for you and hope you and your girlfriends can hook-up and make it!  Lastly, one lucky winner will walk away with a sample taste of our first proto-type of GRAB goodies!

My partner Richie and I, have dedicate countless of devoted hours to create something unique with our strong belief that Superior Customer Service is a crucial part of a growing business. What does Superior Customer Service mean to us? It means when you send us an email, it will get answered. When you call us on the phone, I will directly speak with you, not to you and with respect. First and very important!  Make sure you always start out with a a clean face.  Always use a moisturizer for your skin type prior to makeup.  If you desire a little more color, then use a tinted moisturizer, blot with tissue, then set with a very thin powder.  When on the go and need to touch up, take a two-ply tissue, seperate and blot the perspiration first before adding any more powder.  Apply a super silky thin setting powder or your choice that is almost invisible.  Gingerly shake the sifter into clean palms and swish around and clap twice until the excess falls out and take both hands and gently pressed the palms of your hands onto your face and finger around the nose and under the eyes and blot.  Take another tissue and blot to set and you’re good to go.  This will help avoid any over powdering and a cracking and cakey mess!

Makeup Product Tips: Best type of makeup to use for the hot weather.  I love the summer because once you achieve a little color from the sun (wearing SPF of course), you will notice that you really don’t need any foundation, but if you prefer that apply something for coverage, then use a super thin foundation or a good concealer just on the trouble areas and set with really super thin invisible powder and blot.

Eyes: Cream or Gel Eye shadows and Waterproof Mascara and Eyeliners, Cheeks: Cream, Gel or Tints, Lips: Lip stains are the best solutions for the hot weather.  The last longer then powder and when oils and perspiration kicks in, you makeup stays put because it repels the moisture.  Have a great day and thanks for reading!
