You have to think about the car insurance, the monthly payments, if you don't have parking at home then of course you have to pay for parking, the maintenance. It is a lot of work and thinking to do.

I remember receiving an insert on my credit card bill offering me car insurance. Since, I have always wanted to get a car for myself as a young girl, I was curious and kept it on file. What would happen if I get stranded in the middle of nowhere and in the middle of the night just because my car broke down? Scary, isn't it? It pays to know the area where you will be and to save the contact number of that trusted auto repair shop.

I thought of my sister who is driving around the city of Chicago in the snow and I can't help but think of something that might happen to her. I always say to her to make sure the car heater works, to check engine light, enough gas and the brakes. I know this is too much worrying and my older sister is a big girl.

I came across a website that has a lists of Chicago auto repair shops. It contains the shops name, their addresses, phone numbers and the cars they repair. The shops are even in Google maps so you would not have a hard time locating the store. In the website, it will allow you to find the best car shop based on your car model and get a quotation on how much the repair will cost.

This is really helpful to all who lives in Chicago area or for someone who travels by car a lot. I know where to refer my sister just in case something happens to her car when she is on the road or not. Such an informational website help saves time from moving to one shop to the next.

Photos of Russia

I really find Moscow to be mysterious. I might want to enroll myself in cooking school by summer. I just need to update and bring in that quality cooking equipments in my kitchen. What a good way to motivate myself to cooking and experimenting on recipes at home, right?

My housemate enrolled herself in cooking school and although I wanted to join her I just found the tuition too expensive. But it should not be a problem. If you love something or if you have the passion for it, might as well invest on it. Now this got me thinking about photography once again. Anyhow, lets not talk about that yet. Maybe in some other posts.

I have been looking around online for advises on what to at least have at home for that beginner cook. I currently live in a boarding house for girls where we are not allowed to cook. So I always end up eating outside which is so not healthy and breaking the bank. I should get one of those classic design plates that will work with any type of cooking as well. Of course, after cooking, it is then about the presentation. I am thinking about learning to cook those home grown meals. I also wanted to go back and re-learn those foods we tried cooking in High School like Leche Flan. A bamboo steamer does not cost too much and it should be easy to keep around the house as well.

While I was browsing, I came across a site and found a beautiful coffee maker and it does not even cost so much. I knew I should have asked this for Christmas instead of a book that I have not even read yet.

What I have lying around my place is a small steel and black toaster. I love toast and coffee in the morning. It is not rocket science in using the toaster and that is the part I love having one for myself. I hope my land lady will not notice the smell of toast somewhere in the house. I remember seeing my land lady having a countertop blender in the kitchen. I wonder if she will allow me to use it.

Online shopping is so much fun. There are a lot of choices. It saves the time from going to one store and the next and it definitely saves gas. For a great selection of home furniture, I rely on Shop Wiki. You can even compare prices in this one site. I hope I have inspired you to get cooking started at home. Enjoy shopping too!

Food for Thought

I love eating crabs. Here, I thought about those beautiful houses in California and I am thinking about buying a house soon. I also have to think about moving the family to California State. I am not sure if it is going to be difficult since California have great weather all year long, a busy city so the children won’t get bored, a good educational system and there a lot of Filipinos living in California. It would be like not living going away from my home country the Philippines.

I was browsing around about what to do after buying a house. I certainly have to think about how to get everyone and all our stuff moved to a different State safely. Well, there are a lot of Moving Los Angeles of whom I’m sure has been helping people move from one place to another. I hear Movers in Los Angeles are great in terms of service. There are a lot of choices around. Whenever the teacher, who is also old and soft-spoken, just sits on her chair and talk about a subject/chapter in the book and because the classroom is so small and we are so many in the class, she only tend to talk to the students in front. At one point, she caught my attention outside the classroom and she asked me a question about the difference of Retailing and Wholesaling. I wasn’t really our of day dream state and did not realize the question she was asking and when I gave a wrong answer, the whole class laughed. When my attention was reverted back to the class in order to get the correct answer, I understood both concepts. Until now, I am still able to differentiate both concepts.

But is humiliation the answer to long-term information processing. I get frustrated a lot whenever my sister is able to name a concept accurately by name and I can only define or generalize the concept. I understand it but I don’t have a name for it. Maybe it’s the type of learner that I am. I take information in a general form and it sticks to the brain. I know I was able to read a concept and know how and where to retrieve the concept but I can’t name it right on the spot. I have to review the same concept in order to gain again that mastery of the concept.

Is taking an exam, a quiz and ace it an enough indication that a person is able to process the information? Sure, it is because there is such a term short-term information processing.

I remember a TV series I was watching about Law-court practice and that in one case the lawyers were defending a school from law suit against a parent whose child died from all that school activities and academic rigors. The school superintendent who was brought to the stand said something about,” United States has become a nation of test takers.” I think about that and said to myself, after honest evaluation of a type of learner that I am, that it’s not just happening to the United States. I think that it is what I am also becoming. Learning should not just be about giving of information and taking it in until examinations come and then forgetting about it. It should include meaning for it to be forever learned.

This is what’s frustrating me for quite awhile now. I know that when a concept is named or presented I then think that I have learned this concept before. I know I’ve learned this in Miss Teacher’s class and what subject it was taught. But, I have to pick up the book and review the concept again in order for me to fully understand it and name the concept again. I get good grades and sometimes get the highest scores during examinations. But how do we ready ourselves, for a class, or someone who is supposed to take the board exam in after 4 years or 3 semesters of studying a major? What are the implications of these facts as future teachers? Is humiliation or fear a factor that we consider? We know, as learners ourselves, that this has its own adverse effects.

Oh, here's some random something-something about anne a lay apostle.

Protect Your Family

They say the very first thing you have to invest on is a good health insurance. For other celebrities, I hear they put on a lot of make-up to avoid looking so white and pale on TV. I sometimes think that they over applied the make-up on their faces. Sunless Tanning has become a rage. I hear it is also expensive but at least it lasts longer than make-up. My tan is the envy for Caucasians and it does not involve sunless tanning. It's au naturel! I just can't decide what brand and model that I should get. I know a colleague is getting a Blackberry Curve soon. I also saw a blackberry phone in white with leather back casing. It looks really pure but powerful at the same time. Now, I'm thinking of getting one for myself but I also don't want people to think that I was influenced by our colleague in my choice of cell phone. If I like white, maybe I should just buy cell phone cases. It will help curb that boredom with the cell phone that I currently have. As long as it can text and make that call, it should be okay and practical as well.

Heart's day and bubble bath

Been thinking of bubble bath lately and it didn't help that I saw this great shower tray the other day at the mall.

It's Valentines Day pretty soon. I'm feeling the love in every corners. In the office, there is this theme that we come dress up in colors that represent one's status. That is, if you are in a complicated relationship, in a relationship, married, single or engaged. Since I don't conform to the norms, I wore a different color, blue, today.

I haven't really celebrated Valentine's day in a very grown up way. But when I do, I want it to be so romantic. I want it to be a simple day unless if it's our first Valentine's Day together. I don't want to my husband-to-be to spend too much or both of us dressed up to the nines for this day. I'm thinking a kiss to start the day, a sweet message in the middle of the day at work, a rose when he pick me up, dinner at home, him cooking dinner and a bubble bath together until we end up in bed. Bubble bath. I want low lights, maybe candles, rose petals on the bath and on the floor and slow love songs. We could just talk about how far we have come together as a married couple, our plans and our dreams.

But that's thinking too far. Now, if it would be celebrating Valentine's day with the boyfriend, it would be something else.
<img width='1' height='1' The most popular would be to buy a car. I know I'm thinking about getting a loan for that wanted vacation abroad I have been planning for 2 years now. But when I think about it, I know there are other important things I need to pay off first.

But how do you get a loan? Most financial companies requires one to send in character references. Just hope you have a good lot of friends who can speak good stuff about you. You also need to have at least one government issued identification card. It's not just the requirements that you need to think about. How about the payment scheme. Is it reasonable?

If I'm to get emergency loans, it would be because someone in the family is rushed to the hospital. I'm knocking on wood that it will not happen anytime soon. It would be helpful to use that loan to pay the taxes before the government tries to contact you for that payment. Helpful tax information can be found online. It should not be hard to get the information you need to pay off your taxes. Better to deal with them soon than be late and sorry.

Become Someone Else

When I look at other girls, I think how taller they are than I am, how better and flawless skin they have than I, how they have shiny and beautiful hair than I have, how talented and intelligent they are than I am, how they got bigger breast than I have and the list goes on. If there is anything that I would like to get done, it would be my breast. I have always been vocal about that to my friends since they all have it and I don't. This must be the case for Heidi Montag. Los Angeles plastic surgery industry must be in all time high.

What would you change about yourself?

Used Cars

I remember my brother saying that his dream car being a Ford F150. I don't know what to think about training our pet in dog chewing. We only let out our pet dog once in awhile. We named him Kobe after the basketball player. He has his own dog house outside the house and he like to keep watch on the house especially at night. My father likes to let him out during weekends. So we always have our gate locked in case someone he does not know might come in. He runs really fast and round and round the front lawn. That's basically how he exercises and stretches his legs. I miss my pet dog.
