Video and Photography

The Spring and Summer of 2010 has been a record year for us. My wife and I have both been flat out with more weddings and events than we could have imagined. It’s been the year of variety with english, jewish, chinese, greek, hindu, muslim, assyrian, pakistani, persian, sikh, bengali and Turkish weddings being covered. I love the fact that we now offer a Video and Photography service and love working with my wife Joy because her approach to Photography is the same as my approach to videography as we both love natural imagery. This summer has been  especially demanding with some weeks having 3-4 weddings at various ends of the country needing coverage. Many of the weddings we cover require 10-15 hours of filming and photography, plus travel time which is physically exhausting!! So on Thursday we’ll be flying off on our jolly holidays to the Canaries with our two overly excited little girls (going to tell them the day before next time) for a good rest and fun. On our return we have a mountain of wedding video editing and wedding photography to get through. We also have a busy September and an even busier October!! And its looking like things are going to get even crazier next year!! So keep popping back to our blog as many more pics and vids will be posted here in the next few months.

We recently had the privilege of filming and Photographing Aisha and Akif’s wedding in London. They got married at the Queen Victoria House Registry office in Ilford followed by the wedding reception Christ Church, Spitalfields, in London. We had a fantastic day and I thought I would share the bridal preparations video with the rest coming soon. Makhan and Anita requested an online mini-montage for their Sikh Wedding video. They wanted families and friends from around the world to be able to see an overview of their wedding day. The finished Sikh wedding video last approx. 2 hours 30 mins so it’s very difficult to squeeze all that footage into a 5 min short. But here it is so please enjoy it as much as I did when editing. I just love the vows they wrote for each other.

The Civil Ceremony was held at Dunchurch Park Hotel and conference Centre. Set in the village of Dunchurch this 72 acre Grade II listed Manor House it was a fantastic venue for any wedding videographer or wedding Photographer to get some fantastic shots. After the Civil ceremony the Groom got changed and we headed to the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Parkash in Coventry for the Sikh Wedding Ceremony. After the Milni everyone headed inside for tea and something to eat. Once the guests had eaten they headed upstairs to the hall where the ceremony was held. The Groom and the guests enter first followed later by the Bride and her family. Then follows the rest of the ceremony and the circling of the Guru Granth Sahib by the male members of the family with the Bride and Groom.

Blackpool, Manchester, Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Scotland all in One Week!!

This week has been one of the craziest weeks of the year. It started on Tuesday with a 13 hour Chinese wedding in Blackpool (Bridal Preparations) and a 12 Course Chinese Banquet in Manchester (which was yummy!!). I was covering the wedding VIdeo and Joy took care of the Photography. Blackpool went really well apart from a large Seagull dropping it’s load from height on Joy’s nice camera just as the Groom was getting out of his Roll Royce!! Can only happen in Blackpool!!

Then Joy went to Photograph a Christening on Saturday in Leicestershire whilst I headed to Warwickshire to Film a wedding. I got home at 10pm, quickly got changed and then drove 5 hours to Scotland for a 9:00am Chinese/Pakistani wedding the following morning at Wedderburn Castle in Duns. I had plenty to film and got some fab footage with traditional chinese games in the morning, an outdoor ceremony in the afternoon and a fantastic wedding breakfast decorated with 150 fresh orchids. I have just arrived home and looking forward to getting stuck into my ever growing stack of editing this week. Me and Joy have loads of great wedding videos, event videos and wedding photographs to blog and share over the coming weeks so keep visiting.

Wedding Videos are my passion!! As a Wedding Cinematographer I love the opportunity to capture real emotions as they unfold in front of you.  You have one opportunity to get it right and capture the moment there and then. There are no opportunities for retakes. As a Cinematic Storyteller I prefer to film discreetly and as sensitively as I can so my  clients forget that I’m there as this keeps my wedding Videos nice and natural.

Over the next few days I will be posting some  sections from Anita and Makhan’s Wedding Video. One part of the day that stuck out for me was the Civil Ceremony where they had written their own wedding vows for each other. Very romantic and touching!!

Promotional Video

It was great last night filming a Pyromusical display on behalf of Komodo Fireworks at Stapleford Park Country House Hotel. Komodo Fireworks produce some of the most spectacular displays I have ever seen and I was at Stapleford Park to film Komodo’s handy work. I drove across a very bumpy field in the pitch black (which was fun) and parked next to a spooky forest and managed to set up my two cameras. It’s times like these when you wish you had gone easy on the horror movies as a teenager!! But with Stapleford Park Country House in the background Rob and his team managed to light up the sky with another awesome Pyromusical firework display. As it got darker the sky looked amazing so I created a timelapse of the clouds moving over the venue and made a great little intro for the video.

Over the last 12 months I have been filming various displays as part of an ongoing/developing Promotional DVD made especially for promoting their shows and products. Anyway, Enjoy!!

Capturing the Mood of your day.

One of my favourite parts of a Wedding Film is the highlights/montage sections. All my clients receive the Wedding Ceremony, Speeches, First Dance and other relevant sections of their wedding DVD in full (with original Sound) plus a nicely crafted Cinematic Highlights version of their wedding day. This version shows all the best moments of the wedding day, is set to music and is an overview lasting approx. 15+ mins. Wedding Video Montages are a great way to watch your day as they are much shorter than the main wedding Video and capture the mood of the day and all the significant moments in one quick and easy to view Film. As well as the extended Highlights, I also design a mini-Highlights version (3-4 mins) specifically for the internet which is nice and easy for friends and family to freely view from anywhere in the world.

Here are the mini-Highlights from Cem and Inci’s Turkish wedding Video filmed at the Landmark Hotel in London (Internet Version). The extended version is too large to upload so I’ve condensed it somewhat. Enjoy!!

My Little Girl Throws a Tea Party!!

My work and passion is Cinematography. Most of the time I am travelling throughout the UK filming weddings, Private Events and Corporate Videos for my clients. I also love the opportunity to film my two little girls as I am aware of how quickly these precious moments go. Here is a Video of my youngest girl who has a fantastic imagination and is always talking to her dolls. The other day she decided to have a small tea party out in the garden. So I got my camera and did about 30 mins filming as she played in her own little world and got this great little video and thought I would share. Very Cute!!!
