They were a lovely couple to work with and the day started with me in Nottingham filming the Bridal preparations. Great light, nice relaxed bride and bridesmaids and then off to St Andrews Church in Kegworth, Leicestershire which is just a few minutes away from my home to film the ceremony. As a wedding videographer I don’t often I get the opportunity to film locally as so many of my weddings are much further away. The Vicar at St Andrews Church was fantastic and an absolute pleasure to work with. She made it so easy for me and the photographer to capture the ceremony. Afterwards we headed off to Whatton House and Gardens – great wedding venue!! Love the gardens, colour and space to explore!! It was nice to be filming in <strong>Manchester</strong> again, this time for Claire & Simon’s Jewish wedding. Claire & Simon had tons of energy and I really enjoyed my time with them. Their day started with bridal preparations, which is always a great opportunity to relax into things and get some great shots!! After the preparations it was off to <strong>the Manchester Reform Synagogue</strong> on Jacksons Row to film the <strong>Tish</strong>. A traditional Jewish wedding always begins with the grooms <em>tish</em> (which is Yiddish for table) and basically consists of the men heckling the groom and drinking whisky!! Always a great part of any <em>Jewish wedding video</em>!! After the Tish the bride arrived and after the B’deken (veiling of the bride) had taken place everyone made their way towards the Huppah (canopy) where their Jewish wedding ceremony took place. Due to limited space I was only allowed to film from the balcony which was a little unusual but with a little planning managed to capture everything. After the wedding ceremony we headed to <strong>the Lowry Hotel</strong> in Manchester where I have filmed a number of <strong>Jewish wedding video’</strong>s in the past - so I was on familiar ground. The <strong>Lowry Hotel</strong> is a great wedding venue and as always they did a superb job of decorating the room where the reception was held. The lights were amazing and once the bride and Groom entered the action was none stop with jewish dancing, speeches and much more jewish dancing filling the rest of the night. A few days ago I shared the highlights video from Jarnails Maiyan ceremony and today I would love to share his next <strong>Jago Ceremony</strong>. This is another pre wedding event I love to film. For those who don’t know the <em><a title="Jaggo Ceremony – Nav’s Sikh Wedding Video" href="http://www.beautifullifeuk.com/blog/weddings/sikh-wedding-jaggo-ceremony/">Jago ceremony</a></em> is a fast paced and energetic event and often the most well liked as the <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a title="jago ceremony" href="http://weddings.iloveindia.com/wedding-preparations/pre-wedding-preparation.html">Jago Ceremony</a></span> further heightens the excitement of the wedding festivities. The Jago ceremony usually happens the night before a Punjabi wedding and is a chance for friends and family to rejoice and dance together in celebration. A pot (gaggar) is decorated with candles and carried on the head whilst dancing and singing jago songs. The word jago means “Wake up” and gets everyone in the mood for whats to come. The Jago Ceremony starts with the aunt colourfully dressed in a traditional Punjabi Ghaghara and with her dancing with the pot on her head. The pot is then passed around the rest of the family and friends where they take their turn in the Jago alongside everyone else.</p> <p>Anyway, here’s two videos from the night!! They made a very loud entrance, dressed in colourful traditional outfits and set the tone for a great party. The edgbaston reservoir provided a lovely setting for the night and was topped off brilliantly by great live entertainment, good food and drink and a very merry crowd!</p> <p>2) What did you like best about your Jago Ceremony?<br /> I think the Jago night was the day I could really let go and enjoy myself. There were no ceremonies/rituals I had to worry about which meant I could concentrate on meeting and greeting my guests, alot of dancing and a enjoying a good few drinks!</p> <p> </p> </article> <article> <h1>Sikh Punjabi Wedding | Jarnail’s Maiyan Ceremony</h1> <p>Beautiful Life — Thu, 01 Dec 2011 11:39:01 +0000</p> <p style="text-align: left;">We love <strong>Asian Weddings</strong> and here is the first of a number of films from Jarnail & Urvinder’s <strong><a title="Sikh Punjabi Wedding" href="http://www.beautifullifeuk.com">Sikh Punjabi wedding</a></strong> earlier this year. I loved working with these guys as they made the most of every moment and ensured everyone had a fantastic time. Before a <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Sikh Punjabi Wedding</span> can get underway the <strong>Maiyan Ceremony</strong> has to take place at the family home. Over the years I have filmed lots of Maiyan and Vatna Ceremonies and they have to be one of my favourite pre wedding events. The closeness of the families, the love and emotion that flows between everyone is what makes Maiyan ceremonies so beautiful to film. And this day was no exception!! It was a gorgeous day with stunning light and everyone really enjoyed themselves as they began the ceremony. I enjoy going out with friends and socializing at pubs/bars restaurants. I am very proud of being a british sikh, and enjoy learning more about my religion and culture. I would say that I am most attached to my family. Very sporty person, enjoy playing football, cricket, tennis and a big manchester united fan.</p> <p>Q2) What is a Maiyan Ceremony?<br /> I would say that the maiyan ceremony is a cruel chance when the family get to cover me in smelly gooey paste!! But ive been told its a ceremony which prepares the birde and groom for the wedding day. I found the ceremony surprisingly relaxing. Everyone was joking about with me, singing along in the background and I got to have a little moment with everyone turn by turn as they took turns to get me!!</p> <p>Q3) What was your favourite part of the day?<br /> Think the favourite part was the actual vatna. I had all generations of my family cracking a joke and giggle with me, from grandma, mom and aunts, sisters and nieces and was nice to share a brief moment with all of them. This will be the memory that I will cherish most.</p> <p>Q4) How did this prepare you for your wedding day?<br /> I remember looking around, and seeing genuine happy faces on the guests which in turn bought a big smile on my face and remained for the rest of the day. I never looked back and tried to make the most of every moment there after. Lee & Amy are getting married next year at <a title="downhall country house hotel weddings" href="http://www.downhall.co.uk/">Downhall Country House Hotel</a> in Hertfordshire and wanted a creative way to share their wedding date with friends and family. They loved a previous <a title="Save the date video" href="http://www.beautifullifeuk.com/blog/weddings/save-the-date-engagement-shoot/">Save the date video</a> I had done last year but wanted to make theirs slightly different. So they arrived ready with canvases, paint and lots of enthusiasm and we headed off to Beacon Hill to film their <em>Save the Date Video</em>. The weather was hit and miss to begin with but after a while the showers stopped and the sun came out – which gave us some nice soft light through the trees. Lee & Amy were great fun and me and Joy are really looking forward to capturing their chinese wedding next year. It would be great to be able to show our kids in the future (if any!) !</p> </div> </article> <article> <h1>BMF Members Day 2011 | Corporate Event Filming</h1> <p>Beautiful Life — Wed, 23 Nov 2011 13:05:17 +0000</p> <p>It was nice to be back at the <strong>Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel</strong> in <strong>Warwickshire</strong> filming a <strong>corporate video</strong> for the <strong>BMF Members day</strong>. The two main topics from the <a title="BMF Members Day" href="http://www.bmf.org.uk/">BMF Members da</a>y were the economy and the Green Deal. Dr Andrew Sentence spoke about how the recovery is shaping up and what it means for the industry in the short term. David Purvey looked at the <strong>Green Deal</strong> and discussed regulations for merchants and their customers. This was followed by workshops with the chance to debate and discuss ideas and experiences. What a beautiful day!! The sun was shining and it was a stunning autumn day as potential bride and grooms queued at the door over an hour early to get in. There was a real excitement about this venue. But who can blame them, surrounded by english countryside, lakes, parkland and Bramley apple orchards, Norwood Park is the ideal <strong>wedding venue</strong> for any couple wishing to have the perfect day. As a <strong>wedding videographer</strong> I loved this place!! There were some fantastic suppliers at the <em>Norwood Park Weddings</em> Fair. Cakes, cars, jewellery, <strong>photography</strong>, chocolate fountains, more <strong>photographers</strong> and my personal favourite – hand made wedding chocolate demonstrations. But I do love chocolate!! So to taste what I have been filming is always nice!! The wedding Fair was pretty busy for most of the day and overall I think it was a real success as brides kept flooding in!! Well done Sue!! As a <strong>videographer</strong> I love any opportunity to film social and corporate events. So I was really excited when Dave from Sinvision asked me if I would film with him and his team at the 2011 <strong><a title="event videography - victory show 2011" href="http://www.thevictoryshow.co.uk/">Victory Show</a></strong>, Cosby in <strong>Leicestershire</strong>!! The Victory Show was held over two days and included historical re-enactments from the 1940′s which were so realistic that it made you feel like you had been transported back in time!!</p> <p>However, the highlight of the day had to be <strong>filming</strong> the <strong>World War II reenactment</strong>!! This happened later in the day after a safety briefing about how to keep my arms and legs attached whilst running across a field with rigged with explosives. I was filming the american infantry as they advanced forward towards the germans which I was so looking forward to. Before I knew it I was in a truck and heading with the rest of the convoy across a large field towards the germans. Once there we jumped out and soon I was in the thick of it running like a madman across a field with haystacks on fire, loud explosions and machine guns going off all around us. There was so much to film and the next 15 mins went so quickly!! It was incredible!! I don’t think I have ever felt so out of breath after filming!! What a privilege!! This is what I love about <em>event Videography</em>!!</p> <p>Anyway, here are a few clips from the footage I collected and edited from the day which I would love to share. Michael & Nicola live in <strong>Dubai</strong> but travelled back to the <strong>UK</strong> for their wedding at <a title="st andrews church weddings, prestwold in leicestershire" href="http://www.achurchnearyou.com/prestwold-st-andrew/"><strong>St Andrews Church</strong>, <strong>Prestwold</strong></a> in <strong>Leicestershire</strong>. I knew from the start they were going to be fantastic to work with and I wasn’t disappointed. The day started with some light showers but these soon passed, the sun came out and everything got underway!! As a <strong>wedding videographer</strong> I love it when the sun shines!! Once the guests were inside, the bridesmaids and Nicola made their way down the long drive towards the church and before long Nicola and Michael were husband and wife!! After the ceremony we left for <strong><a title="Langley Priory Weddings" href="http://www.langleypriory.co.uk/">Langley Priory</a></strong> in <strong>Derbyshire </strong>for the wedding reception. I have filmed a number of weddings at Langley Priory before and love this wedding venue!! With rose gardens, perfect lawns, lakes and beautiful surroundings it’s the perfect pace for an <strong>english wedding</strong>!! A few weeks ago I posted their <a title="Sunita & Ravinder’s | Indian Engagement Ceremony Video" href="http://www.beautifullifeuk.com/blog/weddings/indian-wedding-ring-ceremony/">engagement video</a> and today i’m going to share their <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a title="Indian Wedding Video" href="http://www.beautifullifeuk.com/">Indian Wedding Video</a></strong></span> highlights from <strong><a title="indian wedding video of Kelham Hall Wedding" href="http://www.kelham-hall.co.uk/">Kelham Hall</a></strong> and I have to say I am loving this <strong>video</strong>!!</p> <p>The day started with everyone arriving nearly two hours late after being stuck in some serious traffic!! But eventually the groom and guests arrived and everything got underway. After the “<strong>tying of the Sehra</strong>” (a ceremony where the grooms sisters tie a veil of pearls over his face) the groom climbed onto an <strong><a title="Asian White wedding Horse" href="http://www.weddinghorses.com/">Asian White wedding horse</a></strong> named Rachel!! Everyone danced around the horse as Ravinder made his way towards Kelham Hall to greet the brides family and then headed into Kelham Hall for a bite to eat. The food was made by the lovely <a title="jush events, weddings, event planning" href="http://www.jushevents.com/">Jush Events</a> (nice to work with you guys again and love your food so much!!). The mandap was stunning and the room was lit perfectly – which makes it so much easier for us videographers and photographers. Sunita made a stunning entrance and I loved the moment when they both saw each other for the first time once the veil had been lowered. The rest of the day was so beautiful, but enough from me and here is their <em>Indian Wedding Video</em> highlights from their big day!!
