Two Beautiful Charcoal Pencil Sketches of Female Figure:

Charcoal drawing is a well recognized media and is one of the oldest art forms. Generally I use compressed charcoal. Charcoal has a unique look and texture when applied to paper that is perfect for allowing a fresher artist to perfect their technique and practice their drawing. Charcoal is ideal for making a variety of different lines very quickly.

Here in this post I have shown two of my beautiful charcoal pencil sketches. And both charcoal pencil sketches are of female figure.

In this charcoal sketch I smudged charcoal with my fingers to shade it. I removed small sections quickly for highlights.

I sketched this female figure with a few and quick lines only. Somewhere I used my finger tip for shading. I did not take much time for sketching this charcoal sketch but took time to clean up the edges to make it clearer.

Step by Step Useful Tips on How to Draw Realistic Female Face with Pencil:

How to draw realistic face front view with valuable tips and sketches:

These step by step tips will show you some techniques in drawing a female face.

Draw Outline

At first sketch the outline of a face. Heads are never circular; they are oval shaped, like an egg. So, sketch an oval outline that tapers down at the bottom.

Draw Dividing lines

The easiest way to start is to use dividing lines to map out the proportions of the face. At first draw a line down the center of the oval. Then cut the oval horizontally in half.

How to Draw Nose

Divide the lower half again with another horizontal line. The point at which this crosses the vertical line is where you should begin to draw the base of the nose. Sketch out the base of the nose and a nostril either side.

How to Draw Month

Divide the bottom quarter in half again. The bottom of lips will rest on the dividing line you have just drawn. Draw a line for where the lips meet and then draw the top lip. Now fill in the bottom of the lip.

How to Draw Eyes

Your eyes are in the middle of your face. Theirs is normally the width of an eye, between the eyes, but check this carefully, because not all people have the same width. The end of the nose is 2 to 2 ½ eyes below your eyes. Your mouth is almost directly under your nose.

Draw two big circular balls to make out the eyes across the central horizontal line. These will from the eye sockets. The top of this circle is where the eyebrow in and at the bottom is where the cheekbone sits.

Draw the eyeball floating in the center of the socket.

Eyes are almond shaped and remember that eyes come in every size and shape, so feel it out. As a rule of thumb, the distance between the two eyes is the width of another eye.

Draw the pupil. Fill most of it in black and leave a little white. Draw lighter in some areas to give it a nice effect. Draw eye brows above. Now erase the guidelines below the eye. Draw the top of the eyelid over the top of the almond.

Shading

Add a little shading underneath the eyes and where the eye meets the nose to define the socket.

How to Draw Ears

The base of the ear should be drawn in line with the bottom of the nose and the top of the ear in line with eyebrows.

Draw Hair

Draw the hair from the parting outwards.

How to Draw Neck

Draw the neck. Draw tow lines coming down from roughly where the bottom horizontal line meets the edges of the face.

Details

Take much time while detailing. Put expression lines abound the mouth.

Clean the unwanted spots. Use an eraser to remove any guidelines.

How I have drawn the sketch:

Indian women always look beautiful in saree and you will surely love this sketch.

Before sketching the girl I took a picture of a girl in saree. Then I quickly jot down the figure on artpaper. I sketched the full figure in a few minutes. Shades and highlights give the post a life-like feel, and can be just as descriptive as a line. I took time to draw the shades. Somewhere I used the side of the charcoal pencil and somewhere I used the end point of the pencil. At last I used eraser to make the highlights.

I used charcoal pencil and eraser for sketching the girl in saree.

I planned the composition.

This is one of my most beautiful pencil sketches. The beauty of any sketch of girl will come from her proportions. I have tried to keep her features soft and subtle but geometrically correct and balanced and also tried to make the eyes, nose, lips and face structure balanced and beautiful. While drawing cloth, keep in mind that even if we cover our body with clothes, the body makes its presence felt. Look at the folds and creases on the saree and arrangement of light and shade. I have some simple ornaments. The smile on the face of the girl made the girl more beautiful.

At first I took a reference photo. Your reference photo should be clear and big.

Then I began sketching the outlines and I draw the eyes. I used 2B graphite pencil for outlines. Now I started shading and darkening the entire face except for the light spots on the face and the mouth. Avoid touching the paper. It may leave ugly spots over your drawing. I started darkening shadows. I used 4B graphite pencil and charcoal pencil for darkening.

Make sure all your pencil marks go into the same direction. I had to add several layers to get my preferred tone.

I did not work much in hair, just darken them.

Remember when you have finished everything; there is still work to do. Here you may use kneaded rubber eraser to lift the unwanted smudges on paper.

I made some minor alternations at this time.

Drawing beautiful faces of girls is my hobby and this sketch is one of my most beautiful pencil sketches of girls faces. I have tried to make the features proportioned as well.

I have tried to keep form and balance in mind when drawing the face and tried to make the eyes, nose and face structure balanced, curvy and beautiful.

The eyes of the girls are a bit larger and deep. The lips of the girls are soft but a slight darker. I taper the chin sharply and made it a bit smaller. I used light patches of shading. The hair of the girl is floating. I spend much time to sketch the hair and tried to give it depth. The nose of the girl is so soft. Somewhere I used my finger tip to shade the darker area.

I used 2B graphite pencil to draw the face and 4B and color pencil for shading. Somewhere I used charcoal for dark shading.

I have tried to make my sketch more beautiful by exaggerating her features and keeping them perfectly balanced. Here in this figure drawing I have tried to make her even more appealing by posing her in an attractive pose.

I have tried to keep the girls features soft and subtle but geometrically correct and balanced.

I have finished the figure drawing using darker tines for the legs and arms and used light patches of shading, and added more contrast to the legs and underneath the breasts. The face of the girl is suppressed with hair. Here I have drawn the hair flowing out from the body with out curving lines but have kept her hair light. I have not worked much on her hair.

To draw online of this figure I have used 2B pencil and 4B and black color pencil for shading and finishing.
