Kaptai Lake: This large man made lake of Bangladesh spanning over an area of approximately 11000km2, was created as a reservoir when the Kaptai dam was built during the 1960s. The lake was created by flooding valleys and plain lands between numerous hills. This created a picturesque view as forested hills and plateaus rise from beneath the water. The government run tourism corporation and private operators offer Kaptai Lake Cruise Tours, which is worth of it. Other scenic spots are also accessible through the waterways.

Shuvolong Falls: Shuvolong a place in Borokol sub district, located about 25kilometers (11kilometers – as the crow flies) away from Rangamati. There are few waterfalls in Shuvolong area with the largest one falling from as high as 300 feet. In the past several years, this place has turned into a tourist destination due to beautiful waterfalls and the nearby market. Shuvolong is easily accessible by speed boat or motor boats from Rangamati.

Tribal Museum: The museum is located near the entry point to the city. Established in 1978, it is run by the Tribal Cultural Institute. Traditional ornaments. costumes, potteries, musical instruments, armaments, paintings and photographs, old manuscripts, statues and ancient coins of various tribes are on display here. It is open Saturday to Thursday excluding public holidays.

Hanging Bridge: This 335feet long bridge across a portion of the Kaptai lake is an icon of Rangamati.

Kaptai National Park: This forest reserve is located in the Karnafuly and Kaptai range. According to the government statistics some 50,000 people visits the national park every year as it provides some walking trails among the lush green forest. The animal species of Kaptai National park are deer, elephants, monkeys, fishing cats and birds. The Kaptai Forest Rest house, Kaptai Mukh Forest Rest House and several picnic spots are located here.

Rajban Bihar Pagoda: An internationally known Buddhist Temple, where the spiritualist principal monk of Rajban Vihara, Shrimath Sadhana Nanda Mohasthabir(Ban Vante) lives.

Peda Ting Ting: A small island on the Kaptai Lake, few kilometres away from Rangamati. It is mostly known for its serenity. There are a few tourist accommodation facilities here and a tiny restaurant run by the locals. It offers foods ranging from traditional to indigenous delicacies.

Chakma Royal Palace: This is the palace of the present Chakma King. However, it is open to public for a visit.

DC Bungalow Area: The District Commissioner’s Bungalow is located adjacent to the lake. There is a small light house and a shelter accessible to the public. This spot provides a nice view of the lake.

Others: The local market is also a tourist attraction as it offers handicrafts, textiles and ornaments made by the tribal people.

Cox's Bazar (Bengali: কক্সবাজার Kaksbājār)

Is a town, a fishing port and district headquarters in Bangladesh. It is one of the world's longest uninterrupted natural sandy sea beaches, The beach in Cox's Bazar is an unbroken 125 km sandy sea beach with a gentle slope. It is located 150 km south of the industrial port Chittagong. Cox’s Bazar is also known by the namePanowa, whose literal translation means "yellow flower." Its other old name was "Palongkee".

The modern Cox's Bazar derives its name from Captain Hiram Cox (died 1799), an officer serving in British India. An officer of the British East India Company, Captain Cox was appointed Superintendent of Palongkee outpost after Warren Hastings became Governor of Bengal. Captain Cox was specially mobilised to deal with a century-long conflict between Arakan refugees and local Rakhains. He embarked upon the mammoth task of rehabilitating refugees in the area and made significant progress. A premature death took Captain Cox in 1799 before he could finish his work. To commemorate his role in rehabilitation work, a market was established and named Cox's Bazar ("Cox's Market") after him.

Bangladesh is the land of nature because she is full of natural beauties. InBangladesh there are many attractions for the tourists around Cox’s Bazaar district. Inani beach is one of the most attractive and charming land. During the holiday many people even the students come to the place to enjoy the natural beauty. Today, Cox's Bazar is one of the most-visited tourist destinations in Bangladesh. Recently, the Bangladesh Government formed the Tourist Police unit to better protect local and foreign tourists, as well as to look after the nature and wildlife in the tourist spots of Cox's Bazar.

You can plan a trip to Inani beach via Himchory for a half day or may be a full day sightseeing. The way to go Inani beach from cox’s bazar is full of mind blowing scenes of nature. The green hills stay in the east of the road and in the west the ultimate beauty of Bay of Bengal. Everybody become strange because the scene is very amazing, your mind will be with full of charm even before seeing Inani beach. Coxs Bazar is a district under Chittagong division in Bangladdesh. There is one of the longest sea beach in world. It is a continuous 125 km sandy sea coast with a gentle slope.
History and Background

The name Coxs Bazar has come from Captain Hiram Cox. He was appointed as a superintendent of Palongkee at the time of British India in 18th century. The town is 6.85 square km, and bounded by Bakkhali River on the north and East, Myanmar on the east, Bay of Bengal in the West, and Jhilwanj Union in the south. Main tourist season is November to February. Postal Code is 4700 and NWD Code is 0341.

Dulhazra Safari Park Chakaria
Dulahazra Safari Park was developed on an undulating landscape of around 2,224 acres of area at Chakaria Upazila in Coxs Bazar District, wild elephants which are native to the area.

Moheshkhali Island
Moheshkhali is a jewel among the attractions of Coxs Bazaar. The island is famous for its beauty and tranquility. Numerous eager rickshaw pullers patiently wait for the arrival of tourist, and offer them an exclusive tour of the island.

Sonadia Island
Sonadia is a small crescent shaped island. 7-km north-west of Coxs Bazar.The sight of game birds migrating Sonadia Island in huge numbers through the winter seasons.

Kuakata is a sea beach of beautiful Bangladesh. It is the most beautiful sea beach in Bangladesh. It is also one of the most attractive place of Bangladesh. The name Kuakata originated from the word Kua English word “Well” dug on the sea shore by the early Rakhine settlers in quest of collecting drinking water, who landed on Kuakata coast after getting expelled from the Arakan (Myanmar) by Moughals. Naff River:

Teknaf is famous and natural beauty for Hills, Naf River and Forest. By the side of Naf River you will see a lot's of Salt fields there. That increases natural beauty. From Cox's Bazar you can come Taknaf. It's about 85 Km. Road journey. There you can see many shopping market. One is called BURMESE Market. From here you can shop Burmese & Tribal Handmade materials.

You will see there, Wild animals and birds, but Journey on the river is the most interesting thing.

An enchanting scene is there that is Wide sandy beach in the backdrop of high hills with green forests that never to be forgotten.

Naff river is the border of Bangladesh and Myanmar. The Naf River's average depth is 128 feet (39 m) and maximum depth is 400 feet (120 m). Historically, Shapuree Islandlocated at the mouth of the river, plays an important role and is considered as one of the immediate causes for the first Anglo-Burmese War.

But the natural view of this historical river is very nice and really attracts people from all over the world. It is a part of beautiful Bangladesh. Those people usually visit Chittagong district they don’t forget to visit the Naff River. Naff River is originated from the Arakan Hills of Myanmar and after flowing as a trans-boundary river, and finally falls into the Bay of Bengal.

The river is having 1-3 kilometer width between the two countries at some places and the depth of the river is having 130ft an average depth and highest depth is 400ft.

Tourists of St. Martin’s island are being carried by the ship over the river. During the cruising, you can see lot of boats was floating over the river. Boatmen from the both country use to catch fish on a regular basis.

Finally, the river has lot of Seagulls flying around. I have seen my first Seagull at Naaf River.

Nafakhum Waterfall

Nafakhum waterfall is the biggest and most attractive waterfall in Bangladesh. It can be treated as “Niagara Falls” of Bangladesh. It is also an excellent place for trekking. Stone and stone all around the place. In this extreme destination tourists can take all kinds of experiences like journey on zigzag hilly roads, journey by boat in the river of Sangu with trekking. This destination gives the true view of hilly areas. In every step through the journey tourists can feel the essences of nature and life style of the Mountainous people.

Climate Winter is the best session to visit Nafakhum.

How to get there

First reach at Bandarban by Bus. There are several bus services available and fare range around 550-600 BDT and will take 8-10 hours.

From Bandarban town you have to hire a 'Chander Gari' (One kind of Jeep ) to reach at 'Thanchi' upzila, cost will 3500 BDT. Thanchi is about 79 km away from Bandarban town.

Then need to hire a boat to reach 'Thanchi Bazar' located opposite side of the river 'Sangu'. At 'Thanchi Bazar' need to get permission from BD BGB and also must to take lunch for rest of the journey.

Then again start journey by boat. At evening will reach at 'Tindu Bazar'. One's need to stay overnight there.

At morning you have to start journey to 'Remarki' and the way is more challanging and dangerous. It will take 2.30 hours to reach at 'Remarki'.

Then need to start trekking by the side of 'Remarki Jhiri (Khal)'. Need to cross three hills too.

After passing some distance there will be no way to pass the 'Jhiri' by walk then need to swim or manage a boat to cross it.

After crossing the 'Jhiri', again need to walk about half an hour to reach the final destination 'Nafakhum' waterfall.

Where to stay:

If one can wish to stay at Thanci, can book Thanchi rest house and will cost 600 BDT for 7 people. At Remakri visitors can stay at local tribal houses and cost for each night will about 600 BDT for 10 people. There are also some 'Tribal' houses in Remakri to stay. The travelers should stay for the night at 'Remakri' and the tour guide will help to find a good place to stay.

Local restaurants are available in Thanchi bazar. Travelers should take their lunch at Remakri. There are some restaurants at 'Remakri' and per person lunch cost around 150 BDT.

Accessories needs to have Make sure you have a good physical fitness. Take fresh drinking water, water purifier and dry foods. Must take extra socks. Take at least two sets of clothes and torchlight. Keep 'bandaid' and 'Odomos'(mosquito repellent cream) with yourself. Better to manage 4 feet long bamboo stick and good trekking boot which can grip maximum.

Himchori National Park:

Park is a beautiful tropical rain forest (evergreen & semi-ever-green) around the South Asia. The park was established in 1980. This place is maintained, protected and secured by the government for the foreign tourists and the local visitors. The Park is not only attractive for the tourists it is also attractive for the biologist.
The park gets high forest, low forest & grasslands with a few trees. Around 58 species of trees, 4 species grasses, 15 species of shrubs, 19 climbers and 21 species of herbs altogether 117 plant species are available here. In the forest area there are at least twenty kinds of important herbs like Curculigorecurvata, Swintonia Florinda and Alpinianigra are available which most valuable plant are for the biologist.

The park is also considered as a paradise of birdwatcher. A lot of bird watchers are gathered here for the seeing the different kinds of birds, as more than 286 species of birds found there. Additionally, 55 species of mammals, 56 species of reptiles and 13 species of amphibians are found in the evergreen forest. A small number of elephants and leopard also found here. The US administration already made an agreement with Bangladesh government to induct tigers in to the forest areas.
Wild life: Elephant, Tigers, Capped Langur, Gibbon, Rhesus Macaque, Dhole, Sloth Bear, HirundoRustica, Indian Muntjac, Wild Boar, CypsiurrusParvus Leopard Cat, Jungle Cat, Fishing Cat, and Acridotheres.

Kuakata Echo Park

In the beautiful Bangladesh in Keuakata there is an ecological park and that echological park is known as kuakata echo park. This is a very beautiful echo park. The natural side of this park is different from others and very attractive. Kuakata Echological Park or Kuakata Echo Park is located about 2.5 kilometer east of the zero point of Kuakata town. The area of the Echo Park is about 13,984 hectors. Coastal Forest Department in Patuakhali has constructed the Echo Park.

The Echo Park is situated on the areas of Gangamati, Latachaplee, Khajura, Fatrar chor and Tengragiri in Kuakata sea beach. The Eco Park is surrounded by mangrove and non-mangrove forest.

There are many types of trees and plants and differents types of animals in this park and it is the safe nesting of birds. About 42000 plants are found in this echo park. There are two watch towers, five picnic sheds, a wooden bridge, culverts, internal walkways for the travelers. There is a nice looking natural Lake inside the park area and two coasts of this lake are connected with a bridge. Visitor can take a ride on a paddle boat at this lake. This echo park and its lake will must attract people from all over the world who like boating.

Some portion of this park was damaged by Hurricane Cidr and Aila. But the Government and park authority will take the necessary steps to rebuild the infrastructure of this Ecopark very soon because this is one of the best visiting spot of Kuakata. Those people come to visit kuakata they usually visit this place.

The Echo Park is the important tourist spots for the Kuakata sea beach visitors. Traveler will get the full natural beauties by visiting this Echo Park.

Inani Beach is at Ukhia Thana, 35 km. to the south of Cox's Bazar.With green hills to the east, the golden beach of Inani casts a music spell on anyone stepping on to its fine golden sands. The clean blue waters of the Bay of Bangal are ideal for swimming. It is considered the world's longest and broadest beach: 180m at high tide and 300m at low tide. It is very beautiful sea beach. It is prettiest for its natural beauties surrounded of this beach. It is an another attractive source of beautiful Bangladesh.

Way to go:

To get Inani beach you need to take a bus to Teknaf and get off at Court Bazar (30km), a tiny village 2km before Ukhia. From there, you can take rickshaw or tempo west to the beach, 10 km away. If you're headed for the guesthouse, ask the rickshaw driver and he will let you off at the tiny village of Sonarpara. From there, walk south until you reach guesthouses. Alternatively, hire a jeep from Cox's Bazar to take you directly to Inani using the scenic beach route.

KAPTAI LAKE

Kaptai lake, beautiful blue watery lake was made by man. The size of Lake is approximately 11000 sq km. You will enjoy the natural beauty of this lake as well as boating on the lake. It is a huge lake and it has some tiny islands. Each island has different name such as "Peda Ting-Ting", "Tuk-Tuk Echo Village", "Chang-Pang" etc. "Peda Ting-Ting" is a tiny island and here you will find cottages to stay and enjoy moonlight night with fantastic lake surroundings. "Tuk-Tuk" is an echo park with varities of trees and plants. It is a great place for boating and cruising.

Foy's Lake

Foys Lake is the name of another beautiful place of our beautiful Bangladesh. Yet Foys Lake is a man-made lake situated in the Chittagong district of Bangladesh but it attracts people from all over the country and outside the country too. It was created on 1924 and it was created to provide water to all residence of the railway colony. It was named after Mr. Foy who was the Railway engineer at that time.

It has a very beautiful natural view and with a very long place. Thus it is man-made but people find nature here because the whole district is full of nature. Shat Gumbuj Mosque is another beautiful place in beautiful Bangladesh. It’s a historical asset of Bangladesh. It contains a very nice historical view. It is a mosque which was built in the Mughol emperior time. So, this mosque is more than 400 years older but it is quietly looks same as before.

This mosque is in the Bagerhat district of Bangladesh. This place is now very common picnic spot. People from all over the country and other side of the country comes this place to enjoy their vacation. This is now one of the most common and perfect place to enjoy vacation.

The founder of this mosque is Khan Jahan Ali. He was a king and a religious person too. So that he built this mosque for the Muslim people of his area can take their prayers here. Most attraction of this place is there are two very older crocodiles here. Name of them are Dholapahar and another is Kalapahar. They live in peace in a pond of this mosque.

In the meantime these two crocodiles attract visitors very much. Visitors like to take their prayers in this mosque. In this mosque the founder of this mosque also has a mazar of him.
