Nainital Roadtrip | Vlog

Hello !

We went on a short vacation to Nainital, Uttarakhand in December 2016. Nainital is a hill station in the north India, in case you don't know (which I doubt). And we went there during the Christmas-New Year time. Now, if you are planning to view snowfall then I would suggest you to go there on new Years itself, since the chances of snowfall are higher at that time.

Although it gets really cold during the nights in December but the days are mostly sunny and warm. Make sure you carry your sweaters, scarves, gloves and woolen hats to cover yourself up. In case you forget to do that or you are like us who thought(being a pahadi) you can easily escape the winters.... umm.. don't worry there are plenty of shops that sell woolen clothes at nominal prices.

Ours was a 3 day trip. You can easily cover entire Nainital in 3 days.

Day 1: We drove from Delhi to Nainital. We started at 5:00am and reached there around 11:30 am - 12:00 noon. It was extremely foggy that day, else we could have reached at least an hour early. Since we were very tired so we just explored the local market after checking into our hotel. Always get a hotel on the main road, preferably the one which offers parking. Parking is an issue there and mostly people have to park their cars on the mall road paid parking space. It becomes quite inconvenient to go there everyday to get your car and then drive back to your hotel room and then go park your car and get back to your room. Duh.. !! not recommended.

We also went for a shikara ride in the famous Naini lake the same day and leisurely walked on the mall road to end the day.

For dinner, we went to Chandni Chowk restaurant on the mall road for all the 3 days. Highly recommended !

Day 2: We booked a taxi for Rs.600(BARGAIN !!) They will start from Rs.1500 at least) which took us to 7 tourist attractions in Nainital including: Khurpa taal, Lands End, Tiffin Top, Dorothy's Seat, Himalayan Peak point to name a few.

For a round trip to Dorothy's seat, we opted for the horses instead of trekking. You pay Rs.700 per person. It was an experience in itself. Highly recommended.

Lastly, we took the cable car to the mall road. The view from there is breath taking and it almost feels like you are watching a movie. Though, it is a very short ride of less than a min I think, but is definitely a MUST DO.

Day 3: On our last day we booked a taxi to Mukteshwar for Rs. 1500. It takes around 3 hours of drive to reach there. The weather is colder there as compared to the mall road area. It even snowed there. I would suggest your to carry gloves, hats and a nice warm jacket if you go there in winters. This trip takes your entire day. You can either stay there in one of many resorts Mukteshwar has or drive back to the mall road.

The 1st stop is the Golu Devta temple followed by the Tea garden and finally you reach Mukteshwar.

The main attraction for me was the point called Chauli ki Jali in Mukteshwar which offers a panormic view of Nainital. It is almost like the peak of the mountain. You can indulge in some adventure sports: zipline. They charge Rs 500 for it.

When we came back it started snowing and raining and got really really cold.

Since it was Christmas, the entire mall road was decorated with lights and colored papers. Midnight masses were held in the local churches and people would sing carols while taking out rallies. It was a very festive environment and made our trip so much more better. Nainital can be visited year around and offers so much for tourists.

Lansdowne, Uttarakhand Vlog | Road Trip

All of us deserve and need a break from the busy city lives that we are living today. It is important to rejuvenate ourselves so that we can work hard when we get back to our mundane lives. For me it is more about mental rejuvenation rather than physical.

So we recently went on a trip to Lansdowne, which is a small town in Uttarakhand. We had a 4 day long weekend and we did not want to waste it by staying at home. Hence, we planned a last minute trip.

Lansdowne is basically a cantonment area and doesn't offer much in terms of activities. I have grown up in a cantonment area and I know how difficult it is to enter one without the proper ID card. And to see the cantt. open for all the people was weird for me. There are very few basic tourist spots which can be easily covered in a day. So, if you are coming from Delhi you can drive here on an early Saturday morning and explore the town the same day and leave for Delhi on a Sunday afternoon. It takes around 5 hours from Ghaziabad to Lansdowne and the road is pretty good except for a few patches.

We were a little apprehensive about visiting Lansdowne in the month of July since it is the onset of monsoon. It was July 1st week and it did rain a little bit mostly late at night or early morning. Just a little bit of drizzling, not much.

HOTELS
There are not many hotel options in Lansdowne. I would highly suggest to take the hotel on the outskirts of the town/city from where it takes just 10 minutes drive to reach the main market. We stayed in the Green Palms on day 1 which is a decent property there. Other options would be Lans Castle and Blue Pine. Lans Castle is so overpriced though !

There are not good hotel options in the main market except for the Govt.(GVMN) rest house and the Fairydale resort(which I did not check out). Second day we stayed at the GVMN guest house. The food is very good and very reasonably priced but the rooms were not upto the mark. The GVMN compound is very well maintained though. We stayed in the hut which is separate from the main building and has its own personal lawn. We would sit out in the lawn with our tea and Saurabh would play his guitar. It was such a nice experience.

After I came back I also heard about this resort called Vanvasa. I am not sure of its location but it is somewhere in Lansdowne.

You would get all the necessary things in the main market and the main tourist spots are very close by.

The main spots to cover are: Tip N top, bhulla taal, museum, bhim pakora,few temples and churches.
We just went to the Tip N Top and the Bhulla Taal since the churches were closed for some reason and we had no interest in the temples and museums.

Also, I would recommend eating veg noodles and lassi at the Mayur Restaurant in the main market near Gandhi Chowk. We went there both the days. It was yumm!!
Also you can buy booze form the main market. Just ask anyone and they will help you. Just make sure to read the price before paying, since alcohol here is a lot more cheaper than UP but still some shopkeepers sell them for double the price.

There are just 3 ATMS in Lansdowne and no petrol pump nearby so make sure you come with a full tank. 1 ATM is in the main market, 2 at the Lansdowne entrance. There is ample parking space so that would not be a problem.

Overall you can visit Lansdowne only if you want to chill and relax and don't intend to indulge in any sort of activity.

Summer Casuals | OOTD

Hey guys !!

How are you all? The monsoon has finally arrived here !! Yippee!! I can't tell you how hot it had gotten here.

So, I did this outfit video few days back when it was still hot in Delhi. If you ask me what is my go-to outfit, I would say skinny jeans and a crop top. I can literally live in this combination. Although boot cut jeans are also back in fashion, but somehow I have never found that style appealing. At least not till now. But you never know !!

So, I wore these really light weight and comfortable ripped skinny jeans from Jabong. This is my favorite pair of jeans ATM. It fits me like a glove and really accentuates my curves. I like how it hugs me at the right places and makes me look slim yet curvy. One more thing that I like about this jeans is that it has 2 buttons on the waist above the zipper. They have given a broad band (not as in telephone :P) on the waist which makes sure that your love handles don't bulge out.

I would highly recommend you guys to buy this pair if you are looking for one.

Another favorite thing is this crop top from Mango. It is an old one but I still love it to bits. I love how boxy yet fitted it is. The sleeves are loose and reach my elbows. And the colorful floral print is just perfect for summers. This top gave this outfit the much needed pop of color.

Since the whole outfit was very casual and chilled out, I wanted to add a pair of sandals that could make the outfit a little dressy. So, I wore these classic nude-gold sandals, which go with anything and everything. I really like the design and the color of these. If you have broad feet like me then you should try buying sandals which cover the front part of your feet. It instantly makes your feet look slimmer. Tried and tested. :D

I am not big on accessories, so I just added a white strap watch with colorful dial and threw on a black & white clutch.

My Top 5 Lipsticks for Summers | Under Rs.500

How are you all? The rain god finally got happy with us and the weather has been pleasant here in Delhi since the past 2 days. You know that kind of pleasant where you don't even need the AC. Ah!! How I wish it could stay like this year around ! But it is Delhi, you know?

So, to beat this heat I am sharing my top 5 favorite lip colors for summers. These are those which I am currently enjoying using. And the best part is that all of these are Rs.500.

1. Star's Cosmetic in NUDE ROSE: If you have read/watched my previous post/video, then you would know that this has made into my current favorites list. Thi is such a gorgeous nude-y rose-y pink. The perfect Kylie Jenner lip shade I would say. This is the color that I like to wear during the day time when I want to look like well put up but don't want to wear anything too loud. I find this shade to be very feminine & romantic. This would suit people with medium to lighter complexions.

2. Lakme Perfect Definition Lip liner in GO GRAPE: I adore this color! This is such a stunning deep reddish maroon with brown undertones. I mean it is a deep dark shade but it would not make you look 10 years older. If you know what I mean. And even better it is matte without the drying effect. This is a perfect pick for those night parties and would suit all skin tones

3. Maybelline Colorsensation in VELVET BEIGE: This is a mauve-ish brown nude shade with silver glitter specks. The glitter doesn't really show up though. It is slightly darker than a MLBB shade for me but for darker complexions this would be a perfect MLBB shade.
Again, this one is also suitable for all skin tones.

4. Maybelline Colorshow Lip Matte in ROCK THE CORAL: OMG !! This is such a stunning coral shade. I love how it instantly brightens up my face. It has the right undertones of pink and orange. This is more suitable for people with medium to lighter complexions.

5. Coloressence in FOREVER ROSE: Last but definitely not the least, I have a pink lipstick. This is a little neon-ish rose pink shade which has a creamy finish. It is also a bright shade and it instantly brightens up my face. This would again suit people with medium to light complexions.

It is time to share my current faves with y'all. So, grab a cup of coffee because this list is long.

1. Schwarzkopf Professionals Spa Essence Enriching Cream Mask:
Starting off with hair care, I have got a few products in that segment and the one that I am most excited about is Schwarzkopf Professional Spa Essence Enriching Cream Mask. This stuff is God sent for people with dry hair. Now, I have wavy, dry, frizzy hair which are prone to split ends and they are medium thick. While I look for my masks/conditioners to be moisturizing but they should not be heavy. A lot of shampoos or even masks meant for dry hair tend to do that but not this one. It moisturizes my hair, makes them soft & shiny and controls the frizz to an extent without weighing them down. It also smells good, sort of peachy and fresh and is pocket friendly too. This huge tub would last you a year if used 2-3 times a week.

I use this twice a week after shampooing. I have replaced my conditioner with this bad boy and I am loving it.

2. Bblunt Intense Moisture Shampoo: I am a shampoo freak. I am always trying out new shampoos from different brands. FYI I don't use drugstore shampoos. They have never worked for me. Shampoo is one item I don't mind splurging on.

According to me this shampoo from Bblunt is suitable for normal to dry hair. People who shampoo their hair quite often must try this one. The biggest problem that I face with shampoos is that they are either too drying or just too heavy that you don't get that "clean scalp" feeling. Bblunt Intense Moisture Shampoo cleans my scalp well without making my hair dry and I feel the moisture in my hair hasn't gone anywhere. So, if you have normal to dry hair you should definitely check this one out.

3. Pantene All Day Smooth Miracle Water: Next, we have this super duper light hair serum. This comes in a pump packaging which makes it very easy to use the product & to travel with. When you pump it out, you get a runny white colored lotion. But when you rub it between your palms it becomes watery and colorless, exactly like water. They have named it very aptly I must say.

I use this serum on the ends and along the length of my hair(dry or damp) and it instantly makes my hair shiny and soft. It actually works miraculously! It also smells amazing (has a sweet, floral smell. Not too strong and it lingers for a while). The effect lasts for a few hours to a day and then you would have to re-apply. The best part about this serum is that it doesn't make your hair greasy even after multiple applications. This is a quick-fix for your bad hair days. Do not expect it to repair/heal your hair. I specially love to travel with it because all the wind and dust makes my hair cray cray and this bad boy is the only thing that instantly brings life back to them.

4. L'oreal 6 Oil Nourish Extraordinary Oil: Honestly speaking, the main reason I bought this oil was its packaging. I mean look at that bottle ! Doesn't it look "Oh so expensive !" ? It also, smells good (has an extremely mild floral fragrance). This is a very light weight oil made from 6 different ones, but its main composition is mineral oil. Though I don't use mineral oils at all but I bought this one for its beautiful glass bottle. And it has not disappointed me.

I use this oil on my damp hair and apply it only along the length and the ends. DO NOT apply it on your scalp. Mineral oils are not meant to be applied on the scalp. L'oreal 6 Oil Nourish Extraordinary Oil makes my hair softer, shinier and good smelling. They say that it can also be used as a heat protectant. Never tried that though.

5. Fab India Citrus Lemon Body Wash: Moving onto the body products, this citrus-y body wash is what I am enjoying this summer. This reminds me so much of Liril. Yeah, it smells almost exactly similar. I like it because it smells lemon-y and I love all sort of lime & lemony fragrances in summers. I absolutely love how it wakes me up and gets me ready for the day. Whenever anyone is using this in my home, not only just the bathroom smells amazing but I can sniff it even in the other rooms. The fragrance definitely lingers on for around an hour. The Fab India Citrus Lemon Body Wash has a gel like runny consistency and it lathers well. It is easy to wash away and doesn't dry out my skin (Just how I like my body washes).

6. Calvin Klein Sheer Beauty Essence: This is one of the best perfumes I own. It is a very subtle, elegant and a rosy scent.
"Top notes radiate with nashi pear blossom and juicy white peach. A rich floral bouquet composes the heart, featuring notes of lilac, peony, magnolia and Turkish rose. Airy musk, vanilla and cedar form the basis of the perfume."
When you first spray it, it does come across as a very strong scent. But then after few seconds it settles down into a light, fresh rosy scent. It definitely has a dominant rose fragrance. The roses in this smell very natural and refreshing.

7. Oilcraft Naturals Panchpushp Facial Mist: This is my favorite facial spray EVER !! Enough said. Read more about it HERE.

8. Star's Cosmetics Perfect Lip Contour(Nude Rose): This is the lip color I am currently obsessed with. This is your very affordable Kylie Jenner-isque shade. Firstly I love the name Nude Rose. Doesn't it sound so sophisticated? It comes in a wooden pencil form with a cap. You have to sharpen it which is an annoying thing. The name says it all. This is a very beautiful rosy pinky nude shade. And will be suitable for medium to lighter skin tones. I love wearing it when I want to look put together but don't want to look like I have put in efforts. You know what I mean. Right? It makes me look so fresh ! The perfect summer pink I would say.

The formula of this lip pencil is quite creamy and it doesn't feel dry at all. But you must always moisturize your lips before wearing any matte lipstick or a lip pencil. It stays on my lips for good 5-6 hours with light snacking. If you eat something oily then it would wipe away almost completely, leaving behind just a light hint of color.

The only thing that I dislike about this lip pencil is that it smells a little plasticky. Not a very strong smell. You can only sniff it while applying the color. But I have noticed that a lot of lip pencils smell like that, even the ones from Maybelline or Lakme.

9. Maybelline Clean Express Makeup Remover: I ~~think~~ am sure that everyone loves this product. It is the most affordable makeup remover that works brilliantly. It is a bi-phase remover with oil and water. It removes all the makeup, even the stubborn waterproof mascara, very easily. It does leave behind a greasy film, so, make sure to wash your face afterwards.

10. Forest Essential Aloe Vera & Neem Body lotion: This is such a good smelling lotion. Perfect consistency, great moisturizing properties and an amazing fragrance. What else do you want?

Sivanna Colors Baking Highlighter Review

Hey guys!!

Today we have Sivanna Colors Baking Highlighters on the blog.
A great round of applause for these beauties please!!

PRICE: Rs.349

PACKAGING: These come in matte black cardboard packaging, with an open front. The ingredient list, manufacturing details, price, shade number etc are all at the back of the box.
The actual product is housed in a sleek round plastic case, which has a transparent cap which helps in identifying the shade from the outside. The cap closes with a click sound and is definitely travel friendly. The case is of good quality and doesn't feel flimsy. The highlighters have a swirly design which makes them look really pretty. These do not come with any mirror or a brush.

PIGMENTATION: It would not be wrong if I said that these are INSANELY pigmented. One swipe and you would understand what I mean. You literally have to just tap your brush a little bit on the highlighter and then tap off the excess before applying them on to your face. This is not your everyday highlight and you should stick to using this only for special occasions.

TEXTURE: I think they could have made it a little better. This is a baked highlighter, so it is hardened. I found the texture somewhat chalky. The glitter in it could be felt. Not the best formula to work with.

STAYING POWER: These stay on for 3-4 hours.

So Sivanna has these baked highlighters in 3 different colors:

SHADE 01 is a very cool toned silver highlight which is suitable for people with pinker undertones mainly. We, Indians with stronger yellow undertones in our skin would not really enjoy this highlighter on our cheekbones. But, we can still use this as a brow highlight or for brightening the inner corner of your eye or even as an eyeshadow.

SHADE 02 is a champagne-y golden shade. This is more suitable for people with warmer skin tones. This is a good shade for us Indian beauties.

SHADE 03 is a rose gold shade. This one is actually a universally flattering shade and would suit all skin tones.

Overall, I would say that these are decent highlighters. Not the best ones available. But if you are looking for an intense highlighter then go and buy these, else there are better options available.

Sivanna Corrector And Brightening Kit Review | Nars Orgasm Dupe

Hey guys !

So, here is the much requested review on the Sivanna Colors Corrector & Brightening Kit.

Price: Rs. 425 for 15gm

These are AMAZING quality palettes. Each palette contains a contouring powder, a highlighter and a blusher. There are a total of 6 variants and the only thing that differs in them is the blush. The contouring powder and the highlighter is same in all 6 of them.

PACKAGING: These come in a standard SIvanna cardboard packaging which is white in color with black accents. The actual product is contained in a black plastic case with a see through lid. Inside the top of the lid is a small rectangular mirror which can be used for touch ups on the go. I have to say the packaging is very smart because of the way they have included the mirror without making it heavy or bulky. It doesn't come with any brush, so make sure to carry your own.

STAYING POWER: These can easily stay on your face for 4 hours with no base. With a base underneath, expect them to stay on for 5-6 hours.

CONTOURING POWDER:
The contouring powder is a neutral mid-brown shade which is a great option for light to medium skin tones. This would not do much for our darker beauties. However, they can use it as an everyday eyeshadow.

HIGHLIGHTER:
The highlighter is such a beautifully balanced shade which would suit all complexions. It is neither too cool nor too warm, just the right amount of silver, gold and even pink. It is not too intense so you can definitely use it as your everyday highlight.

The blushes are the best part about these kits.

Shade 01 has this amazingly gorgeous peachy pink blush with lots of golden reflexes. OMG this is one of the most beautiful blushes I have ever used or seen. The golden reflexes impart such a b'ful golden glow to your cheeks without looking chunky. This is your dupe to The Balm Hot Mama and the iconic NARS Orgasm. And it suits all skin tones. A must have in my opinion.

Shade 02 has a beautiful earthy orangish brown blush with little bit of gold reflexes. This is such a unique blush shade and I don't own anything evenly remotely similar. Again a universally flattering shade, more so on the deeper complexions. This again resembles one of the Sleek blushes whose name I can't recall right now. If any of you knows it then do let me know in the comment section below.

Shade 04 has a matte pink- coral blush which is suitable for lighter complexions.

Shade 05 has a neon-ish matte orange blush.

Shade 06 is a pink-ish coral shade with just a hint of silver reflexes which doesn't transfer onto the face and looks matte.

I would highly recommend you guys to buy these. These are high quality palettes which are comparable to any high end ones.

So, today's video is about a soft, romantic makeup tutorial. I have kept the whole look very soft and feminine with the focus on the lips. If you are not comfortable with wearing such a bright lip color, you can always switch it up with a softer pink shade. It would still look equally good.

This makeup is apt to be worn for a day time function or a date night. You can take this from day to night by smoking out the lower lash line with a dark brown e/s.

Today I am reviewing MTV MUAH lipsticks by Blue Heaven. Blue Heaven is an Indian drugstore brand which is definitely one of the oldest one as well. I remember my mum using their lipstick, nail paints and sindoor and probably theirs was the first lipsticks I would have ever tried.

Last year they revamped their collection and came up with more girly and trendy lip colors within budget. And I will be reviewing 4 of these.
