Skinfix Brighten + Firm 15% Vitamin C Serum

Vitamin C treatments with L-ascorbic acid tend to be harsh on the skin and oxidize quickly—often before you even finish the bottle. That’s why I’m a fan of the new Skinfix Brighten + Firm 15% Vitamin C Serum, which launched a few months ago. Along with peptides, it has 15% THD ascorbate, one of the best vitamin C derivatives for brightening and firming. It won’t cause irritation and is far more shelf-stable. Plus, it’s non-comedogenic!

Fig.1 just arrived at Sephora, and my pick is the Even Tone Serum. It has all the best ingredients to target dark spots and discolorations: 4% niacinamide, 3% tranexamic acid, 1% azelaic acid and 1% alpha-arbutin. The formula is super minimalist and has a great price point, so you’re truly just paying for the actives here—not unnecessary fillers.

Sofie Pavitt Face Mandelic Clearing Serum

For exfoliation, you can’t go wrong with mandelic acid. Not only is it very gentle, it’s also the one AHA that acts like a BHA to penetrate pores and keep them clear. Sofie Pavitt Face Mandelic Clearing Serum contains an ideal 8% concentration in a soothing and hydrating serum. Her line is geared toward acne-prone skin, but I think all skin types could benefit from this.

Shani Darden Retinol Reform with 1% Encapsulated Retinol

I can’t believe it’s been almost a decade that I’ve been recommending Shani Darden Retinol Reform with 1% Encapsulated Retinol. Over the years, it’s gone through a few formula tweaks—most recently, the encapsulation of the retinol for improved stability. But I still think it’s one of the best options available for a “starter” retinol. I love how light and clean it feels on the skin, and most importantly, how it subtly improves fine lines, tone and texture without causing irritation.

Topicals Faded Brightening Dark Spot Patches

A few years back, the original Topicals Faded Serum went viral for its ability to treat stubborn hyperpigmentation. Unfortunately, it started breaking me out, so I had to quit using it (since I was trying to fade post-acne marks, not create new ones!). But now there’s a solution for me: Faded Brightening Dark Spot Patches. They’re infused with the same mix of actives (niacinamide, tranexamic acid, vitamin C and kojic acid) but in the form of a targeted patch. This way, you can skip all the potentially pore-clogging emollients of the serum, but still get results.

U Beauty The Mantle Cleansing Balm

Nothing beats an oil cleanser for getting off makeup and sunscreen. And finally, after a lot of searching, I found one at Sephora that I can recommend to you: U Beauty The Mantle Cleansing Balm. This contains the absolute best emulsifier system along with skin-friendly lipids, so it will thoroughly remove everything while still supporting your barrier. Best of all, it rinses clean without leaving any residue behind.

AESTURA ATOBARRIER365 Foaming Cleanser

Sephora recently started carrying AESTURA, which you may be familiar with if you’re into K-beauty (it’s Korea’s top dermatological skincare brand). I’m so glad, because the ATOBARRIER365 Foaming Cleanser is superior to most Western cleansers. It’s fragrance-free and sulfate-free, with a blend of mild, low-foam cleansing agents plus hydrators and skin-soothers. Very basic, but in the best way.

AESTURA ATOBARRIER365 Hydro Essence

Another AESTURA product that deserves a spot in your routine is the ATOBARRIER365 Hydro Essence. This is a milky liquid that you’d pat on after cleansing to add a layer of barrier support and hydration (it could actually replace your hydrating serum). It’s got cholesterol, a ceramide precursor, amino acids and natural moisturizing factors, and is unlikely to clog pores.

Skinfix Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream

Most brands these days talk about barrier repair, but Skinfix Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream is the rare product that truly lives up to its promises. That’s because it contains all three barrier components (ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids) together with peptides and a barrier-supportive emulsifier system. This is my top moisturizer recommendation for dry and sensitive skin.

Tower 28 SOS Daily Barrier Recovery Cream

For acne-prone skin—or anyone who wants something a bit lighter—I like Tower 28 SOS Daily Barrier Recovery Cream. This moisturizer is described as “intentionally basic” because it’s super gentle, fragrance-free and contains ceramides and fatty acids for barrier support.

Ultra Violette Future Screen SPF 50

Ultra Violette Future Screen SPF 50 launched last year, and I still think it’s the best mineral sunscreen option at Sephora. (Unlike the now-discontinued Lean Screen, there was never any controversy about this formula, thank goodness!) It protects with 20% zinc oxide and has a light, fluid feel with a sheer tint—no white cast.

Makeup Must-Haves

ILIA Skin Blur Serum Concealer

I was just sent the new ILIA Skin Blur Serum Concealer, and I am in love. This launch replaces the old True Skin Serum Concealer, and it’s so much better. It has a beautiful weightless and non-greasy texture, and gives you medium coverage that self-sets, so you don’t need to add powder. The shade range is way more extensive now, too (I’m wearing Satin 5N). Plus, it appears to be acne-safe, which is a huge deal for this brand.

Glow Recipe Glass Balm

My other major obsession right now is Glow Recipe Glass Balm—it’s all I want to wear on my lips. Truth be told, this was a PR sample that I didn’t think would be anything special. How wrong I was! This is one of the best lip balms I’ve ever used: nourishing and non-sticky but so long-lasting. And the tints are actually tinted, not sheer. You need to try Blackberry Bingsoo, which gives your lips the most perfect blackened berry color. Like, the photos on Sephora do not do it justice!

MERIT Solo Shadow Eye Color

In case you missed it, MERIT Solo Shadow Eye Color now comes in shimmer finishes, and they’re so good. This is a crease-proof cream shadow that you can just dab on with your fingertip and it literally looks perfect with zero effort. (Who has the time to do all that blending with brushes that we used to do in the 2010s?!) My favorite shade is Iris, the soft plum.

Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlight Stick

If you’re looking for something that will subtly make your skin look better (and who isn’t?), give Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlight Stick a try. I wear this dewy cream highlighter in the shade Lit almost daily, and there’s no other product like it. It’s “glass skin” in a tube!

MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara

MAC is now available at Sephora US, including one of the most classic tubing mascaras: Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara. I love the small wand that lets you get at every hair, and how it gives your lashes a clean, separated look. An oldie but a goodie!

Haircare Picks

JVN Complete Air Dry Cream

If you air-dry your hair, JVN Complete Air Dry Cream is well worth trying. This is a lightweight styling cream that you apply to damp hair to add smoothness and hydration as it dries, while eliminating frizz. I find it makes such a difference on my fine hair, and does not weigh it down!

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask

I’ve been recommending Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask for ages. Initially, it was because of the novelty of finding a 97% natural hair mask that worked without silicones. (That was rare 10 years ago!) Now, it’s because this is truly one of the most reliable hair masks for restoring strength and hydration in all hair types.

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray

Throughout my career, I’ve tried every volumizing/salt/texture spray that has crossed my desk, but Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray is on another level. It gives you the lived-in texture of a dry shampoo, but without the icky residue, and it’s never sticky, heavy or clumpy.

Who else is excited for The Devil Wears Prada 2? We’re about to see a lot more of Anne Hathaway soon—and she’s looking GOOD right now. (Maybe the rumors from last year are true!) Her dress was such a moment that she wisely kept her makeup subtle, with brown shadow, the softest lashes and a nudey-pinky lip. Maybe the half-up hairdo is a bit matronly, but I like how it shows off her face. And it’s much better than her hairstyles the last time she did award season, in 2024!

I don’t know how the fashion people felt about it, but I love that Jessie Buckley brought some color to this red carpet with a red and pink dress. She carried it through to her lips with a sheer, balmy red instead of a traditional opaque lipstick—the perfect choice for her unfussy style. Everything else is so natural and low-key, including her slicked-down short haircut. She’s come a long way since her fire-engine red hair at the 2023 Oscars!

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Priyanka Chopra, and honestly? She does classic old Hollywood glam like nobody else. My favorite part is her hair, which is styled in loose waves with a swoosh of volume at the front and a deep side part. With everything else so “done,” I’m glad she dialled down the makeup. It’s just soft peach lips, matching blush, and whisper-thin winged liner.

I’ll be honest: I was getting a bit tired of Rose Byrne’s textured, highlighted lob. So I’m happy to see her in a sleek low bun, which makes you realize just how flawless her skin really is. (And she’s 46!) This was all about the red lip, which is overdrawn with lip liner but not in an obvious way. She’s also wearing quite a bit of black liner and smoky shadow. Since the hair is clean, it doesn’t seem overdone.

Emma Stone is usually among my most-loved looks… but I’m demoting her this year because she doesn’t look like Emma Stone. As I mentioned on Substack, she recently switched makeup artists, which is why she’s now doing overdrawn lips and darker, arched brows. (And, well, there may be some more permanent changes going on here as well.) Don’t get me wrong; she’s still gorgeous, but I don’t think this style suits her at all. Bring back the soft, feathery brows and peachy-pink lips circa 2024, please! At least I do love one thing here: her wavy red bob.

Gwyneth Paltrow at the 2026 Oscars

Say what you will about Gwyneth Paltrow, but I think she looks fantastic here. Compared to just a few months ago at the Governors Awards, her skin is way fresher, and her hair is smoother with a much improved warm honey root color. I suspect multiple treatments and procedures must have been involved! The only issue is she’s starting to get the “apple cheek” look, so hopefully it settles.

Here’s confirmation that Demi Moore did NOT cut her hair. (In case you missed it, she had a bob recently, which we now know was a wig.) It looks even better—and thicker—than it did last awards season, so I’m thinking it can’t be all her own hair here either. The fresh makeup also makes her look younger… and shows off her perfect white teeth! I think I detect some white eyeliner in her lower waterlines, which is brightening up her eyes.

The makeup is extremely light-handed, with the tiniest kitten flicks and blush that looks like it could be a natural flush.

Mikey Madison had one of my favorite looks last season (this one!), and she returned to prove she’s no one-hit beauty wonder. Okay… part of the reason I liked this one so much was the vampy velvet dress. She matched its vibe with long, flowing waves, black liner, and a slick of almost-matching lipstick. The latter is a warmer-toned berry—I think mixing warm and cool tones is very modern.

These smoky eyes are so beautiful, and she’s gone back to what looks like her natural hair color. She used to experiment with the wildest hair and makeup (see here!), so it’s a big change!

Chase Infiniti at the 2026 Oscars

Chase Infiniti looks like a baby Zoë Kravitz, don’t you think? (That is, if Zoë Kravitz actually smiled on the red carpet.) I love how her half-loose, half-braided hair brings a bit of edginess to her frilly pink dress. She also matched her eyeshadow to the dress to tie it all together.

Gracie Abrams at the 2026 Oscars

Jessie Buckley wasn’t the only one with a cool short haircut on this red carpet. A few months ago, Gracie Abrams chopped her hair into a longish pixie, and now it’s grown out into what I’d call a bixie (a cross between a bob and a pixie). And she actually makes those wispy ends look good—justice for fine hair! The light touch on the makeup suits her, even if I don’t love the overdrawn upper lip liner.

Here, she paired them with soft smokies, no blush, and rose lips.

Mia Goth at the 2026 Oscars

Mia Goth just went back to her natural brunette, after having it jet-black since the Governors Awards. I’m a big proponent of natural hair colors… so why am I not so into this? I think it’s because there’s less of a “wow” factor now, whereas before, with her signature pale brows, she had a distinctive look. That said, I’m loving the stained look of her lips and cheeks. Also take note that she’s not wearing any mascara.

So I’m feeling a little underwhelmed at seeing her so bare-faced here. It’s not that she doesn’t look good, but she’s capable of so much more! I’m also not sure how I feel about the lighter hair color. Maybe I’m stuck in the past, but dark brown with bangs is my fave.

I heard that tans are back—so of course Heidi Klum is among the first to get on the trend. With her messy, shaggy, highlighted hair and heavy eyeliner, this seems more like something you’d wear to the Grammys. But, being a model she’s always going to look good!

Nicole Kidman at the 2026 Oscars

Nicole Kidman debuted a new layered hairstyle, and the way it’s sitting on top of her head, I’m pretty sure it’s a wig. If she’s going to do wigs anyway, then why doesn’t she go back to her red hair? That was the real fan favorite! As for the makeup, the blush color is lovely (even if her cheeks seem to be taking on a life of their own).

Ginnifer Goodwin at the 2026 Oscars

Ginnifer Goodwin is the patron saint of the pixie cut… so it pains me to see her with this weird, gelled-down ’do. It reminds me of how my hair used to clump together when I had bangs! I also find her overly groomed brow style a bit dated. I get that she’s a short hair person, but I think she’d look great with her hair a little longer—like a bixie.

Odessa A’Zion at the 2026 Oscars

I appreciate that Odessa A’Zion is making the case for curly hair on the red carpet… but I just can’t get on board here. Want to be blown away? Do a Google image search of “Odessa A’Zion young”—she is actually so pretty with her natural light brown hair color and wavy texture! So no, I don’t get this piecey, jet-black curly look at all. Also, the overdrawn lip liner is too much.

Teyana Taylor at the 2026 Oscars

And here’s another celeb whose younger photos you might want to look up. Teyana Taylor didn’t always do her eyebrows and eye makeup this way. Together, the diagonally arched brows and exaggerated feline liner make her look kind of angry. I think if she just did one or the other, it would soften her look so much. Obviously, her features are phenomenal, and she wears this curly pixie cut so well!

However, her smile looks unchanged, even though we saw the Invisalign anchors attached to her teeth back in 2013. “I quite like my [right front] tooth,” she said in an Allure interview. “It just lives outside my mouth. I used to hate it when I was younger, and then I decided I was going to get Invisalign or something, [but] I was like, ‘No, fuck that.’ And I kept it, and I’m glad I kept it.”

“For me, experimenting with your look is how you find your confidence,” Zendaya said in 2016. “It’s really helped me find myself. You don’t know who you’re going to be unless you try different things and open up your mind. When I started really trying to dress for myself or do my hair for myself—doing things strictly because they made me feel good—it was so empowering. So when I’m on a red carpet, it’s not to impress anybody else but myself.”

That doesn’t sound like the mindset of someone who would undergo cosmetic procedures, does it? And yet, if you compare how she looked as a teen with how she looks today, it’s hard to ignore certain changes—ones that can’t be explained away by makeup and wigs.

So what do the experts think?

“She was born with heavy upper eyelids and a rather bulbous type nose, and now we see her looking a little different,” says Dr. Gary Motykie. “Her eyes are a little more open, and her nose is a little more refined. So I am suspicious that she might have undergone an upper bleph, where they take out the extra skin to open the eyes a little bit. As well as her nose—she has more definition of the bridge, more definition in the tip, as well as also possibly the nostrils coming in. And so I am again suspicious that she underwent a rhinoplasty to refine the features of her nose.”

Dr. Charles S. Lee agrees. “She looks to me like she had a rhinoplasty. Her nose is a lot narrower now than before. The nasal tip looks like it’s thinner or defatted, and the nostrils are a little bit narrower. When you narrow nostrils surgically, the tip will tilt up slightly, and you’ll see a little bit more nostril show, which is what you’re seeing here. She’s had upper eyelid surgery. You see on the before photo, the crease is very small here, and [after], the platform show is a little bit better. So I believe she’s had a crease operation to make her crease size more uniform.”

Dr. Joel Kopelman believes she may have had not one but two rhinoplasties. “In 2013… it looks like there’s a narrowing of her nasal bridge and a more prominent bridge. Later in 2018… it looks like there is a narrowing of the nasal tip here, and her alae [sides] do not look as prominent. It [also] looks like she augmented her lips with some fillers at various times.”

But there is one area she apparently decided to leave alone: her smile.

“In 2011, her number eight central incisor is facial [positioned forward] and rotated. She has pretty prominent pointy canines,” says Dr. Sara Hahn. “I love it when patients want to just kind of keep the essence of who they are, but maybe just slightly enhance it. Beautiful, no veneers, had some sort of Invisalign, but didn’t fully straighten out all her teeth.”

Speaking of suspected procedures, everyone’s been talking about Emma Stone’s eyes lately, and I do think they look less hooded. Meanwhile, I don’t think I’ve ever seen her so fresh-faced. (How flawless is her skin? It doesn’t even seem like she’s wearing foundation!) There’s just a little black liner in her upper waterlines with kitten flicks, and the usual over-lined lips that we see on every celeb. The short hair we saw earlier this year is also growing out nicely!

In case you’ve had enough of this “clean girl” thing, here’s Tessa Thompson with a rich, deep red lipstick to satisfy our autumn beauty cravings. Even though she wore it with classic winged liner, it somehow looks fresh, maybe because of the barely-there lashes and monochromatic taupe shadow. I also like the pinned-back hair with a bit of volume up top for a modern spin on a retro style.

Say what you will about Gwyneth Paltrow, but she looks pretty darn great at 53! Nothing groundbreaking here—she stuck with her signature straight, yellow-blonde hair and kept her makeup low-key. I think she’s wearing some individual false lashes just at the outer corners of her eyes.

Sydney Sweeney at the 2025 Governors Awards

I want to like this look on Sydney Sweeney, but it’s missing the mark for me. I think it’s her newly light blonde bob combined with the retro styling—it feels try-hard instead of effortless. Compare this with her long, dark blonde hair at the 2025 Vanity Fair party and you’ll understand what I mean. Also, I know it’s the trend, but I dislike how that unblended lip liner is making her lips seem top-heavy.

I’m having the same feelings about Zoey Deutch’s look as I did with Sydney. The stiff, vintage Hollywood hair is just not my jam. (I do think it can work sometimes. Selena Gomez pulled it off better, I think!) Anyway, at least the makeup is good, other than the over-lined lip thing I keep complaining about. She has gorgeous skin and brows!

Isabela Merced—formerly known as Isabela Moner—busted out a veil, so she really only had to do her bangs for this red carpet. I think it’s pretty cute on her, especially with the doll-like makeup. The dramatic long lashes are fun, and her brows are very straight, which gives her an Audrey Hepburn vibe.

Elle Fanning was knocking it out of the park during the 2025 awards season, but alas, all good things must come to an end. I do love this makeup—the pink lip and cheek stain is amazing, and the freckles are so cute—but the hair, not so much. The messy waves and barrette aren’t quite working, and I feel like her blonde is too yellow for her skin tone.

I was SO hoping that Lili Reinhart would keep her blunt, dark blonde bob with icy highlights that we saw at the 2022 VMAs. That, to me, was her Life Cut and Color. This longer style with the warmer light brown tone is fine, but doesn’t stand out, you know what I mean? Her makeup is pretty, though, and so beautifully blended.

Lana Condor doesn’t have the most on-trend styling, but you know what? I think this still looks great on her. The soft updo with face-framing pieces is very Brigitte Bardot (as are the cat eyes). And I love that she did soft, warm-toned makeup instead of a predictable red lip.

I do love her makeup—the kitten eyes are fab, and I love the lip color and texture. But the hair/brow combo is a little harsh.

Kristen Stewart is also getting into the goth aesthetic. She, too, has dyed her hair black, and it does kinda work with her favorite edgy eye makeup. Her brows were obviously dyed as well, and the color is spot-on. Unfortunately, the haircut is a hot mess. Choppy short bangs, shaved sides and baby sideburns… yikes!

I normally love Imogen Poots, but this undone updo with the short bangs just looks stringy and messy. She used to be one of my favorites for light ash brown hair inspiration, so I’m a little disappointed to see her so blonde, with the weirdly dark brunette brows. (Those are not her natural color, I’m sure of it!) Otherwise, the makeup is nice, though.

• See Anya Taylor-Joy before and after fame, and how her look has changed over the years.

“I kind of stopped looking in mirrors for a very long time,” admitted Anya Taylor-Joy in a 2016 interview with W. At the time, she had just finished filming The Witch—her first major role—and was still adjusting to the public eye. Then she was tagged on Facebook in photos comparing her wide-set eyes to a fish. “I was really upset about it… I still don’t really spend a lot of time in front of mirrors.”

A decade later, those same striking proportions helped define her rise. After starring in The Queen’s Gambit, the 29-year-old has become one of Hollywood’s most in-demand stars, as well as a fashion and beauty icon. Her ethereal features even earned her the title of “the most beautiful woman in the world,” according to a facial-symmetry study.

But in recent years, that face—once celebrated for its distinctive structure—has begun to look noticeably different. Her increasingly sculpted appearance has sparked online chatter about possible cosmetic procedures.

So could there be any truth to the rumors? Let’s take a look at Anya’s transformation, year by year.

Baby Face: 2015–2018

At the 2015 Empire Awards

Anya was just 18 when her role in The Witch jumpstarted her career. And yes, she was already a knockout—in fact, the year before, she was scouted by a modelling agency. No wonder, with those striking brown eyes, full cheeks and natural blonde hair. “I had hair that was long and super blonde my entire life. I remember it was a source of identity for me,” she told Vanity Fair.

By 2016, she was living life as a brunette—which became a kind of armor as her profile grew. “My hair was pretty much black when my career started taking off, and it almost felt like a nice front to have: ‘This is the way I’m portraying myself.’ I actively fought against going back to my roots.” It’s so convincing, I always thought this was her natural hair color!

At the 2017 ELLE Style Awards

At age 20, Anya went back to dark blonde. Here, we can really see her genetic blessings: naturally full lips (with a very defined Cupid’s bow), plump cheeks, and wide-spaced eyes framed by feathery brows. She later thanked her mother for confiscating her tweezers: “My grandma completely plucked all of her eyebrows off because of the trend at the time, and when I first picked up a pair of tweezers aged seven my mum yanked them away and said, ‘never touch your eyebrows’. She was pretty intense about it, so I listened to her!”

Then she had one more round as a brunette in 2018. This time, she paired her newly darkened hair with an embellished headband, fuchsia lipstick and matching bold blush, and a shimmery gold eyeshadow. Needless to say, this was before she commanded an A-list styling team!

Big Break: 2020–2021

At the 2020 Los Angeles Premiere of ‘Emma’

Anya had a big year in 2020, when her roles in Emma and The Queen’s Gambit put her on the map as part of the new Hollywood A-list. But I’m not seeing any major changes to her facial features yet. The only shift is the lightened hair, which would soon become her signature… just not with those roots. (This photo was taken pre-COVID, so I’m not sure why her hair looks like this!)

By age 25, change was afoot. Obviously, the platinum hair made the biggest difference (and from here on, we’d never see her again with visible regrowth). She also darkened her brows to add contrast, and started wearing more dramatic eye makeup. But is there something else going on here that nobody noticed at the time? Why yes, I think there is, if you look closely at her cheeks and nose.

Chiseled Change: 2022–2025

If fans didn’t notice a change in Anya in 2021, they definitely did by 2022. Part of it is the extreme styling—she became a Dior ambassador the previous year, so that’s why they put her in this borderline scary hairstyle and vampy lipstick. However, that doesn’t account for the noticeable hollowing below her cheekbones. Could it be weight loss… or something more permanent?!

A few months later, she looked much healthier—but of course, she’s smiling here, so we can’t get a good look at that lower cheek area. What I am noticing are her teeth, though. Apparently, she’s a smoker, so that might explain why they’re so stained. Countdown to veneers in 3, 2, 1….

At the 2024 Cannes Premiere of ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’

Okay, we can’t see all her teeth here, but I suspect she had them whitened and brightened by this point. Meanwhile, her cheeks are looking extremely chiseled. Just compare and contrast with how they looked from this angle in 2016! I have to admit, the effect is stunning… but that’s not the case in every photo, as you’ll soon see.

At the 2025 Golden Globes

That brings us to one of Anya’s most recent red carpet appearances, and our best look yet at her changing facial features. Those hollow cheeks we noticed before are still very much present, giving her face a somewhat gaunt (and, I hate to say it, older) appearance. I feel like they can look good when her face is angled, but front-on, not so much!

Anya Taylor-Joy: Before and After

2017 vs 2025

Anya is gorgeous before and after, but there’s no question her face has changed in recent years. Some might chalk it up to normal aging and weight loss, but I think it’s highly unusual that her cheeks could sink in that much without some sort of intervention.

So what do the experts think is going on here?

“I do see some signs of potential plastic surgery procedures,” says Dr. Gary Linkov. “The first is a brow lift. When I look at the area underneath the eyebrow and right above the eyelid itself, that distance has lengthened to my eye. While Botox can sometimes help lift the lateral tail of the brow, it usually doesn’t cause the entire eyebrow to go up.” But Dr. Jeffrey H. Speigel disagrees. “Is that a surgical brow lift? Could have been, but very doubtful at her age. So it’s very likely that she got a bit of botulinum [Botox] put in on the side of the eyes, which allows the eyebrows to come up.”

Both Dr. Linkov and Dr. Daniel Barrett believe she may have had a nose job. “I’m also seeing some potential signs of a rhinoplasty with alarplasty [nostril reduction],” says Dr. Linkov. “To me, the tip of the nose, the bridge of the nose, both appear more narrow. And also the ala or the wings of the nose appear to be thinner now compared to prior.” Dr. Barrett says, “Her nose looks a tiny bit different, it looks a little more refined in the after photo. That, to me, looks like she might have had a rhinoplasty.”

Dr. Chip Cole thinks eye surgery is a possibility, too. “If you look at her canthus, that down sloping of the lower lid, that was always her signature look. Now, you see less of it. So I think she’s had a canthal tendon tightening.”

And let’s not forget about her teeth. Before, she had “a lot of staining in between the teeth,” says Dr. Sara Hahn. Now, “the staining is gone. It looks like she maybe has veneers from [teeth] seven to 10.”

But the biggest change of all, that every expert noticed? Her cheeks!

Dr. Cole believes she started with filler, and then progressed to buccal fat removal. “It looks like she had some filler augmentation to her cheeks [in 2021]. A year later… she does have some significant changes. She looks like she’s had the filler to the cheeks and she’s also had buccal fat removal and thinning of her lower third of her face.” Dr. Linkov suspects the same procedure. “In 2023, at the age of 27, I’m seeing some signs of a potential buccal fat removal. To me, the area where the buccal fat normally lives looks more hollow on both sides.”

Dr. Linkov, for one, is no longer performing the operation. He told the Daily Mail that it leaves patients looking gaunt, slightly ill, and older than their years. And maybe Anya has noticed that, too. “In 2024… it looks like maybe she had some buccal fat restored, which is a procedure that can be done once too much buccal fat is removed,” says Dr. Cole. If he’s right, maybe this isn’t the cautionary tale it seemed after all.
