My baby's room (w/ lotsa pics)

2011-01-26T23:17:00.000-06:00

The bf and I finally got around to finishing up the painting and the arranging of baby Jason's room. With only about two more weeks to goooo in the pregnancy(:O), we are preparing and have been fixing up his room and finished painting it yesterday. Here's some pics from when we started up until the finish. I hope he loves his room, his mommy and daddy worked hard on it.

Before we started, this room was a "storage" type of room

We had actually painted the walls yellow, then decided to go with this blue. I heard somewhere that yellow paint for baby nursery is too much for them and it makes them be more whiny and cry more. Don't know for sure if it's true, I just didn't like the yellow(too bright).

The circles I painted in his room. I love them.

My love painting the walls.

The gifts on the floor and the bassinet were from the baby shower my mom and sisters threw for me.

His baby bedding set up, his crib, and his bassinet (all gifted by my mom)

I also need to get him his changing table.

He is still missing his letters for his name. I'm thinking right above where the gifts are in the middle would be a good place to put them up on.

He will be with us in our room for the first few months and then be living in his own room :)

So what do you all think of his soon-to-be room? I love it and can't wait till I get to see him :D

Sick and Pregnant!! ughhh

2011-01-20T22:41:00.000-06:00

http://www.myhealthnewsdaily.com/common-pregnancy-myths-0884/2

I can't believe this! I am 36 weeks into my pregnancy and I have been sick for about a week and a half. I have been coughing and coughing and to no avail, still feeling horrible! I called the doctor and got some meds, hoping they would help subside the cold/flu and it still has not gone away. I am taking two different medications and not feeling well. I have drank chamomile tea and also tried honey with lemon tea, rubbing Vicks and still not getting well.

Gosh this sucks!

If anyone has any suggestions on how I can feel better or what I can take, let me know.

What I'm Loving: Essence nail polish

2011-01-10T15:38:00.000-06:00

I recently shopped at my H-E-B store and found these cute nail polishes. Best part? They were only a $1.00 each! I got two different colors:

Choose me!

Just rock it!

I loved the way these polishes went on my nails. I was suprised at how quickly they dried up (it does say on the bottle "quick dry nail polish") so it makes sense lol I did a combination of these two and this is how they looked:

Just rock it! by itself

This one is adding Choose Me! over Just rock it!

What do you think? Have you tried these?

EOS lip balm

2011-01-03T22:53:00.000-06:00

I just purchased an EOS lip balm at my ULTA and bought the summer fruit one. It is refreshingly good smelling, yes like fruit, and it goes on smoothly. To be honest, my lips are very very chapped ALL THE TIME and I tried this today about 2 and a half hours ago and my lips are still moisturized. That's a really good thing :) I love the smell and it is very nice product case, cute to look at. Definitely would purchase again and try some other flavors.

Day Ten: List 10 of your imperfections/flaws.

2010-12-22T20:50:00.001-06:00

Flaws/Imperfections

1) I have to sing along to every song on the radio/IPod/stores/anywhere if I know it. It's mandatory for me! hahaha

2)I cuss way too much and it is awful, I hate it but I can't help it!! Potty mouth !

3)Always subconscious when I wear sandals because my toes look weird, well they do to me.

4)I have a small gap in-between my teeth that I had braces for. Funny thing is I was supposed to get my retainer after I had them taken off but never went back to that same dentist to pick it up.. The gap came back !

5)I'm shy when I meet new people and still it is hard for me to just open up to them after some time. I am always believed to be very very quiet, but oh no...by far I am not. They just haven't known me that long. lol

6)Too much TV and facebooking!

7)I am a compulsive complainer and I sometimes dislike that about myself, a lot.

8)Shopaholic, especially with makeup products and hair products.

9)I'm hairy by genetics.

10)I suck at telling jokes because when I do start to tell it, I forget the joke.

Maybelline Smooth Mousse Foundation Review and OOTD

2010-12-18T17:12:00.002-06:00

I just recently purchased the Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse foundation and tried it today and have had it on for about four hours. I think it does give pretty good coverage, although I do love my Revlon Colorstay foundation. It gives medium coverage and I applied it with the triangle applicator sponge it comes with which is pretty easy to apply with. Would I purchase again? Probably. It is very "smooth" like the name says and looks natural.

Before Smooth Mousse foundation

After

Today I went to a nephew's 1 year old birthday party. Here's the outfit I was wearing.

My OOTD was a green and black stripped shirt from Ross ($8.99) and a black t-shirt under.

$10 sandals from KMart. Martenity jeans from JCPenney

excuse the dirty mirrorrr

omg look at that belly!!!

on my eyes I added green colors with a hint of yellow eyeshadow over it

88 Eye shadow palette from buyincoins.com ($14.99 with free shipping)

The nephews party was at MR. GATTI'S a pizza place, and for candy bags, they gave these cute little baggies! I love them!

So this has been my day so far. I just stuffed my face with about 12 slices of pizza!! I know I'm horrible lol I had a lot of fun though :D

And what did the doctor say???

2010-12-01T16:12:00.000-06:00

So I just had my doctor's appointment for my pregnancy like two days ago. I was anxious to see what he would say. I got my weight checked and then waited in the lobby. Got called on and then waited in the small room for him to check on me. He comes in and tells me my sugar level was just passing and that I really need to take care of myself. He then goes on to tell me "wow, jessica!10 pounds in 4 weeks!! That's a lot of weight gain!" I felt so horrible when he told me this. Not only did he say that I had gained an excessive amount of weight, but then went on to say how he was losing weight and he had lost 10 pounds already. I could really care less, I AM PREGNANT, for goodness sakes!! I can't lose weight right now, and if I did gain weight, I don't think it is that bad because I hadn't before now. He didn't even really bother asking me if I was fine,or if I had any questions. And I would feel like I was interrupting his ongoing selfish talk about how he was taking care of himself and blah blah blah! I am starting to not like my doctor and wish I could switch but I'm already 29 weeks (like 7 months) and to start over with another one, I just am not.

Was I wrong for feeling this way? I know I'm overweight, but still, RUDE!

Day Four: List 10 relatives you love being with.

7.)Norma my sister-in-law

8.)Pete (brother-in-law)

Thanksgiving Day !

2010-11-25T22:14:00.002-06:00

So I had a good and bad time with my familia! Ate some turkey and all the fixings, which are always good. The only thing I dislike about being there is the conversations. It is always kind of awkward at my mom's house because, well, the women in my family are just all about gossip and talking about everyone and what they are doing! I hate the fact that they are always in people's business and it's non-stop with them. I just wanted to leave even though it is something I'm used to. After my mom's house, I went to my dad's with my two sisters, my hubb, my brother in law, and my nephew! I had such a good time, watched the COWBOYS (lose) and my dad made some ribs. We left his place and headed for my hubby's family dinner. Had some MORE turkey and a lot of desserts, OH DEAR LORD lol I am sooo stuffed right now!

So how was you all's thanksgiving day?? Aside from all the bad things, I am very thankful to have my family and I enjoy every miserable, happy, sad, horrible, joyful day with them. :)

Boots That I Love!

2010-11-18T14:00:00.001-06:00

Today I woke up early to go to my college's day care for my field hours of observation to become a teacher. It was a little bit chilly out so I put on my favorite boots!!!Yay!

Well alright, they are my ONLY boots I have! lol But gosh are they wonderful! They are comfortable and they only cost me 20$ at KMart. I don't typically shop there but I couldn't pass it up and since most boots are soooo expensive, I had to get these bargain priced ones. They are not bad at all, have had them for about 4-5 months. I was actually not able to fit into them for sometime because of my swollen pregnant feet (hehe) so I am glad that now they aren't tight.

I have class tonite so I will definitely be rockin' these babies out! =D

btw, Leave me comments below on what you think of my cowboy boots :) and follow me too! Thanks

Lions and tigers and needles! OH MY!

2010-11-17T17:29:00.001-06:00

Today I woke up at 7 AM and got ready for my Doctor's appointment. This appointment was different than the ones I've had before. It was to check and see if I had gestational diabetes, which is for the sugar level and how my body handles it, and I was fasting from the night before so the results would be "accurate". The first one I took for the diabetes was about a week ago. Turns out it was too high so I had to go back and take the second one. This test was 3 and a half hours long. When I got there at 8:13AM, I signed in, then waited to be called. Well little did I know I was going to be getting poked at every freaking hour!! It was horribleee!! So every hour that went by another needle and another needle, more blood, more blood. I got a total of 4 shots, 2 on my right arm and 2 on my left. The nurse mentioned to me that she was having a hard time getting my vein so on the second needle, she poked around for about what seemed forever! (lol) It was hurting. I also can't stand the sight of needles so when she would go into my arm, I always looked away.

I got out of there at about 11:45 AM or so, after that I got home and my lovely boyfriend had left me 3 bean tacos for me when I got home. AWWWW. It was a sweet gesture and I mean, it is our 4 year anniversary today! But we won't be celebrating until Saturday this week. =D

I finished eating quickly.
I left the house again around 12:20 to head to school for my teaching class. Left the class at around 2:45 then headed towards the school's day care so I could get some field work hours of observation (which I still have 14 and a half to do..eeekk!) And by this time I just wanted to head home and rest a bit. As tired as I felt, I stayed for what seemed like the longest hour and a half. For the observation, I thought it was so weird to watch a screen at the day care and just watch them ... watch them like people watch animals at a zoo. I found it amusing at times when the kids would react towards other kids. One of them pulled a chair under another child and he starts screaming "Teacher, teacher!" Hahaha Awww kids! Soon I will have my own little bundle of joy!

Leave me comments below on your own doctor experiences! and follow me too. =D

Julie and Julia/Pregnancy

2010-11-16T19:56:00.001-06:00

So I just finished watching the movie Julie and Julia.

Somehow it gave me some boost to upkeep my blog and not just set it aside like I have been! avoiding it.

I am also in my 27 weeks pregnancy. Almost 7 months! I am starting to feel the dreaded tiredness that comes along with the third trimester. Sleeping hours and hours a day and feeling exhausted. I do not like this part one bit! I was talking to my "step-sister" and she asked me "how far along are you?". I told her," I'm just into my 3rd trimester". She does a long face with a frown "Oh, you still have a longgggg way to go!" That made me feel WAY better hearing that. (lol) Yes, but somehow the weeks and days have been going by so fast, I almost feel like I won't be ready when baby Jason gets here. I really need to work on his room and we have yet to purchase any big items for him. This and school is stressing me out. But good thing semester is almost over! Yeepeee!!

Stretch marks! The dreaded stretch marks! I have some and I KNOW I will get more later on. Especially in the last month of my pregnancy. For now it is just me and my cocoa butter "trying" to avoid further damage.
