I wanted to do a basic eye for work today, but something more than just liner and mascara. It takes me about 5 minutes to do this look, and it looks like a little effort was put into it.

I used one of my favorite Darlig Girl Cosmetics pigments, Jeweled Taupe. It's so pretty and I always get complimented when I wear it. Even when it's just as a wash all over and nothing else. Here is what it looks like. I applied it dry over a base.

Here is with flash. You can see the sparkle this pigment has. It's that pretty in person too!

Here is what I used, in that order:

Tarte eyelid primer

Urban decay pencil in sin

Paulas Choice the mattes palette

* 3 browns, light for blending and 2

dark ones on the crease and lower

lash liner.

Darling Girl Jeweled Taupe all over the lid

Jordana pencil in black to tightline

By apple Almond oil mascara

I've been rediscovering my love for indie pigments, and one of my fave indie brands is Darling Girl Cosmetics. I will do something more fun soon... See you next time :)

Hello

I have been trying to go through my pigments and use them often. Today I didn't have time for a complex look before work, so I used 2 colors (lid and crease) only and liner. I liked how it turned out :)

It has been too long since I posted here. I'm not sure what happened, but I got busy and I dropped the ball. I'm

Trying to get back into blogging, so I will try to revive this blog and see what happens.

Today I'm just posting my eyes of the day. I had little time to get ready before work, so I only used one color, but it is so pretty.

Let's take a look....

This is Darling Girl Cosmetics "seven days later" from their last years "oh the horror" collection. It's one of those shades that can be altered with a different color base. One of my faves.

Here is the breakdown of what I used in order I applied:

Tarte eye primer

Maybelline color tattoo in black

DG seven days later all over lid

NYC bronzer in sunny on the crease

DG glitter glue on the center of the lid

DG seven days later patted over it.

Stila liquid liner in sequins

By apple almond oil mascara

Here is a quick look I wore out to lunch at at friend's house :) super simple but better than nakey face.

I used mac sun dipped bronzer and love cloud blush. Foundation is loreal true match.

Liner as usual, PF Eyeboost liner in ultra black and CG lash blast water proof mascara.

Hello.

I've been slowly getting back to wearing makeup now that it isn't over 100 degrees ;) I'm liking this cooler weather, finally I get to try all the makeup I hauled over the summer that still hasn't even been swatched.

Here is what I wore to go out for drinks Friday night:

I used the UD Naked 1 palette and a orangey nude shadow on the crease, and glitter liner on the inner corner.

While face. I actually wore a brown based nude lip color with glitter gloss on top, but forgot to reapply for the pic.

Closer look. I love the naked palette.

I am so proud of me for blogging regularly this week :) Here is another quick look I did. I am finally liking my makeup again, now that it isn't 118 degrees outside (its still hot though).

I used the Lancome palette by Alber Elbaz (Again) lol

I think I used all but one color in the palette (the glittery gold color).

and wasn't in the mood for falsies.

As I mentioned before, I had the opportunity to try the new Lancome Color Design Palette by Alber Elbaz, courtesy of Preen.me. I have been using that palette since I received it, and I am loving it.

Here is a smoky taupe-brown eye I wore using a couple of the colors in the palette. This is a little more intense, so it's more of an evening look...I wore it during the day though, I love drama so for me this is subtle.

Excuse the messy brows, I am still trying to grow them :/ Here is a list of the products I used:

Hello

It has been a while since I blogged! I have no idea why I neglected my blog for so long, maybe I was enjoying my summer too much, and I actually did not wear makeup often during the summer. Summer is almost over, and while it's still hot here in AZ, it's not as hot as it was between Jun-August, so I am wearing makeup more often :)

I recently got contacted by Preen.me letting me know that I have qualified to be a "VIP MUA", and that they were sending me a Lancome package. Well, here it is :) I have never tried this brand before, not because I thought it was lacking, but because I was too caught up in my comfort zone and only using the same brands I have used for years. Needless to say, I am beyond Impressed! the shadows are pigmented and go on so smooth and silky, and the 24H Artliner really lasts and won't budge.

Mac Nudes & Metallics Haul

I am super late for this, as usual, but I wasn't able to haul this collection when it launched in stores, so I waited all this time to catch it on line, and that I did :)

Here is my haul...its 2 of everything, because I CPd some stuff for a friend.

This is one of my largest at-once mac hauls.

Such a pretty collection...

I also ordered a couple extra lipsticks to keep on hand for gifts, but I didn't 'back up' anything. I have only used 2 shadows so far and I was blown away. So smooth and pigmented and a breeze to blend! I miss this quality from MAC, and I hope they keep making such great shadows.

So far I have only used one lipstick, Nearly Nude, and I'm still not sure I like it on me...*sigh*, however, Pre-Raphaelite looks amazing, and I shall be swatching it soon. It will be such a pretty Fall color :)

Well, since I am no longer on a neutral kick, I have been wearing more bright colors on the days I wear makeup....that is, when I won't be in the 117 degree heat lol. Here is a fun, easy, and kind of dramatic look I did using Darling Girl Cosmetics Electric Sex as liner....

I kept the eyes neutral but added winged liner and falsies.

EOTD: Hot Pink and Black

I was playing with some pigments I got recently and I fell in love with this matte, hot pink. It is literally so pink and pigmented, and it goes on like butter. I didn't need a white base at all to make the color show on my lids. Color payoff is one of the things I look for in loose shadows, and Darling Girl Cosmetics has one of the best in the indie makeup community. Here is what I came up with:

I used Beach Blanket Bingo on the lid, and UD Blackout on the crease and outer corner

It has been so hot here in AZ (about 117 degrees) that makeup has been put on hold for the most part. I am a kind of new to Darling Girl Cosmetics, but the few pigments I own are very pretty and definitely worth to try them.

I don't get any sort of compensation or free product for posting a look using their eyeshadows, however, I do get 20% off purchases. That said, here is the look I came up with using their shadow in "Electric Sex" and "Nerpette"

Electric Sex all over the lid, blended out with some bronzer on the crease.

"Nerpette" used as bottom lash liner, over glitter glue and then smoked out.

Lately I have been super boring and wearing mascara and gloss some days, and nothing most days. I am enjoying my break from school too much. On the rare instance when I do go out, I like to pike it on :)

Hello :)

I have not been wearing much makeup lately due to being busy with school work, and when I do, I opt for mascara and a bold lip. I was in the mood for color and I decided to use this gorgeous eyeshadow by Darling Girl Cosmetics. I am kind of new to her products, but recently made a purchase and I am super impressed with the quality of her shadows and lipglosses and the complexity of her colors. Seriously, go check them out :)

Color description:

Miss Argentina - Pale minty slightly blueish green with red undertones, flashes of copper and shimmering lavender shimmer.

I agree with it, I do notice more of the lavender than the copper, and I am happy with that, as I love purples.

Milani Nude Creme Lipstick

I know, another Milani lipstick post, but I wanted to show you that I am not crazy when I say these are similar to some of the mac lipsticks I have....here is an example:

The differences are minimal, Mac is a little more pink than Milani, but once on the lips they are very close, almost a great dupe! That said, I think I am done hauling these, but only because they are as awesome as my mac, and of course, I really dont want colors that are too close to each other in my collection :)

Hello....

I have been on a Milani lipstick mood lately. It is the first time I try these, and I am actually impressed with the formula and color selection. I went out and got 3 more, but I forgot to take a picture of the other one lol.

Although I adore these lipsticks, I still think they are too close to some of my Mac lipsticks, which is sad, as I like variety. I still wear these though, the watermelon-candy smell is to die for :)

Today I didn't feel like wearing too much makeup so I wore this. This is one of Milani's new lipsticks, which is very is pretty, but too similar to stuff I already own, so I returned it. However, it is totally worth it if you missed out on Mac's Quick Sizzle and Moxie, but it's not an exact dupe, but close enough.

I was actually impressed with Milani's formula, which is excellent and doesn't feel like a drugstore lipstick! I have purchased 3 more and I'm loving them, but again, too close to what I already own. I will post pics later this weekend.

Can you tell I am on a sugarpill kick lately?! I am not a fan of their lose pigments but damn their pressed matte shadows are amazing! I wore this 'subtle' look to the mall, I actually enjoyed the attention I got. Mind you, I went to an upscale mall in which people are older, wealthy and mostly neutral faced ;)

Bad cell phone quality, I know, and I totally did not take pics using my real camera :(

This look was 100% inspired by a look posted by the gorgeous Phyrra (click the link to see her version). I wouldn't have thought of combining these colors together on my eyes, and honestly, I loved the result!

Viviscal Hair Filler Fibers: Review

Today I have a non-makeup review, but it sure is beauty related :) First, let me start with the legalities that need to be mentioned:

I immediately accepted this sample because my mother-in-law has thinning hair, to the point that is more than noticeable. She is not one to go out and look for these items, so I figured I'd get this and hope it worked and she liked it, which she did :)

The packaging claims: Fibers that give the appearance of thicker hair for both men and women.

How does this work?

Viviscal hair filler fibers contain microscopic,electrostatically charged fibers that stick to the hair and create a volumizedappearance. They make thinning hair appearthicker and fuller instantly.

How do you use it?

As per directions, you tap the fibers directly onto dry hairuntil the scalp is no longer visible. Gentlyrub the area to blend the fibers in. wash your hands afterward.

Results

I used this on my mother in law, who has thinning hair andher scalp is very visible. It only tookless than a minute to see the results. It does make the hair look fuller, so that was amazing to see the difference. We did not see any residue left behind, andwhen I asked again, she said she did not notice any residue, and just washed itoff with shampoo. It made a tremendous difference on how her hair appeared. She went from thin hair to the appearance of lots of hair, so that made her happy.
