My Sunday Night Routine - How To Recharge before the Work Week

Sunday night is always a bitter sweet feeling for me. I love it because I try to make it as relaxing as possible but at the same time I'm prepping for the next day of work. Here are my 5 steps I try to stick to when gearing up for the work week.

A Hot Drink

The first thing I love to do is set up a cup of tea for myself. My favorite type of tea is Yogi Soothing Carmel Bedtime Tea. I also drink their stress free blends either the Honey lavender or Kava stress free blend. When I make a cup of tea I try to stay with the caffeine free blends as not to drink a stimulate as I'm trying to relax my mind and body.

Face Masks/Pampering

I like to do face masks on Sunday. I'll either use my Aztec secret Indian Healing Clay or a sheet mask from Sephora. This face mask is AMAZING. This is a best seller on Amazon for a reason. This does a great job getting the gunk out of my pores.

Aztec Indian Healing Clay has done wonders for my skin. This summer has been ungodly hot in the city. I feel like my pores have been so clogged because of the sweat. This mask takes awhile to harden. I usually keep it on my skin for 30 minutes before I wash/peel it off. (Note it is NOT a peel mask) I 100% recommend mixing with apple cider vinegar for the most punch. - You get used to the smell.

I love the sheet masks. I love the Biorepublic Cucumber Masks for when I use a peel on my skin or a scrub. I rotate between different ones based on what I feel my face needs.

Planning My Week Out

I set up my planner for the upcoming week. I love using different planning stickers to decorate my week to keep me interested. I also find it super calming planning out my time and goals for the next week.

Cuddle Time

I love to sit on the couch with my husband and our pets to cuddle for a little bit. I love cuddle time I feel like it keeps the love strong in our house. During this time we watch something on Netflix or we just hangout and talk. Talking without any distractions is so important. Put those cell phones done for a bit!

Yoga/Mediate

I try to sit and meditate and do a few slow yoga moves to slow down before bed. Most of the time if I don't do it in our bedroom it turns into an extension of cuddle time. As soon as I get on my mat my kitties think it's also cuddle time. I love to sit down with my Mala beads and just repeat my mantra. I find it so comforting to be able to center yourself and just shut out the world. Life can be stressful and worriesome it's so important to be able to relax.

These are my 5 steps for winding down on Sunday and gearing up for the work week. If not all these align with what you like to do skip it. But I think you should give it a try. It's so essential to have one night a week that you can recharge before the craziness starts. What ever your schedule is taking time for your self is what makes it easy to keep up with your mental health.

As you beauties have known for the past 4-5 years I have been in love with WEN. Fall seasonal were my first love and continue to be my favorite scents that WEN releases.

When I saw QVC having a TSV for a Cleansing Conditioner, a Fall Cleansing Conditioner, Nourishing Oil AND a Mask I had to get it. I had to share my favorite Seasonal Scent review.

What it promises:

What is it: A revolutionary step toward beautiful, healthy-looking, shiny hair. WEN Cleansing Conditioner replaces shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler, leave-in conditioner, and even shaving cream.

Who it is for: Lavender is a universal cleanser formulated for all hair types, particularly dry, dehydrated, or color-treated hair. Great for creating volume without weighing hair down.

Why is it different: WEN cleansing conditioner is detergent-free, yet gently cleanses and moisturizes.

How do I use it: Apply in four sections: crown, nape, ends on the right, and ends on the left. For hair above your ears, use a minimum of eight pumps (two pumps per section). For hair above your shoulders, use a minimum of 12 pumps (three pumps per section). For hair down to your shoulders, use a minimum of 16 pumps (four pumps per section). For hair past your shoulders, use a minimum of 20 pumps (five pumps per section). For hair to your mid-back, use a minimum of 24 pumps (six pumps per section). For thicker/coarser hair, increase amount of pumps in order to thoroughly cleanse the scalp and hydrate ends.

What I found

I have been using WEN for almost 5 years now my first tango with WEN was with a fall seasonal. I have to admit my love for the fall seasonal are still strong. Fall Ginger Pumpkin is what fall smells like to me, I love the pumpkin and spices scent to it. When I message it into my scalp I love the tingly feeling it gives me.

My hair is always so soft and bouncy after using this WEN scent. I have been sulfate free for almost as long as I have had this blog in 2013. My hair isn't damaged as bad as it used to be but I'm a firm believer that you don't need to have harsh sulfates in your shampoo to clean your hair. It's not good for your hair nor your scalp.

When I use this I find that I can cleanse my hair every other day without looking oily. This cleansing conditioner gives my hair a lot of volume, shine and bounce. The fragrance only stays in my hair for the first day it wears away on the second day after the cleanse.

This is what my hair used to look like before I used WEN. It was right after I took my hair from bright red to almost white blonde.

This is what my hair looks like almost 5 years of using WEN exclusively.

PROS:

Smells amazing

It doubles as my leave in conditioner.

CONS:

Pricy
While it's a 2in1 I still have to cleanse twice with this

VERDICT: I don't have any true complaints with WEN nor issues. This hair care brand works great with my hair! I've been using these cleansing conditioners for years for a reason. WEN Fall Ginger Pumpkin ties the top of my list with Spring Gardenia Green Tea for my favorite cleansing conditioners. I 100% recommend this scent and brand. You can purchase on QVC. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. As a home owner with student debt its getting harder to afford such a luxury but if you can I would suggest it.

Philly Local Series: Miel Patisserie Review - The Best Café Downtown

Today is the first post in my new series Philly Local - where I'm going to be reviewing local spots. I have been going to this little café for years. They have the best macrons around! Miel Patisserie was the reason I began baking them as my signature desert to parties!

Miel Patisserie is located on 17th street between Walnut and Chancellor St in Phila, Pa. This café/bakery has been around for many years! Longer than I've been alive!

When you walk into the little shop it has the cutest bee shaped door handles, and a subtle honeycomb theme throughout. It's a small little shop with a few tables scattered around with a bar ledge with seats. During the nice weather you could also sit outside at a few table tops they have.

I stopped at Miel Patsserie many times over the years. My favorite treat is macaron and their mocha coffee. That combo is super sweet! This time I decided to shake it up by ordering a Tea with Peach Nectar and their lunch sandwich and soup combo. I got the Marseillais half sandwich with Beef Barley, the soup of the day.

The combo was perfect for the rainy day I was downtown for interviews!

After I placed my order I waited at my table and the women at the register brought out my order for me which is so nice. I didn't have to loose my spot at my table. I also ordered 3 macarons as my desert for my lunch. I feel like I couldn't go to Miel Patisserie without a sweet.

They have many different treats to choose from which are all delicious as I've gotten the chance to try them over the years! I highly recommend stopping in for at least a cappuccino when you're in town! This is not a café to sleep on!

Miel Patisserie is a very clean spot to rest your feet during a day of sight seeing or shopping. They're close to all the great shops in the Rittenhouse area.

The people working the front are very kind and give great suggestions if you don't know what you want to order.

Planning A Destination Wedding 101 - Part 1: Budget

I had my dream wedding on the beaches of Punta Cana to the love of my life on February 18 2017. It was the hardest thing I have ever done planning a wedding site unseen and I want to share all the wisdom I have obtained and mistakes I've made along the way. I feel like the most important aspect is budget. Without it you have no wedding!

I believe setting your budget and having a saving plan is the most important thing you can do for planning for a destination wedding. Or just a wedding in general.

First thing is first - you want to be is 100% honest with yourself. If you only make $40,000 a year don't think you'll be able to pull off throwing a $30,000 wedding in a year. If you're budget is only $20,000 dont go buying a $5,000 dress. Honestly you will only wear that thing once, - twice if you wear for a rock the dress/trash the dress session.

Secondly sit down with both set of parents and your partner talk about what everyone is willing to contribute. You want to get a good look with what kind of money you're working with. Will both sides contribute? Or are you and your fiancé on your own to pay for it? Is a set of parents willing to pay for a vender? It's the best to work that out in the beginning so you know what price range you will be working with for venders.

I know it can feel awkward to basically put your hand out for money from your parents and can make you feel like a kid but it's better to find out ASAP.

My rule of thumb is no financial decisions will be made by a set of parents if they do not pay for it. I.E no parent guests lists full of second cousins twice remove you never met. No 350 people guests lists that does not even include you and your other half.

If you like many Americans now-a-days you'll have to pay for your wedding yourself. My parents have been flakey about what they're paying for-(but lots of demands!!) If a parent is being flaky about how much they're willing to contribute when planning don't count on it. Don't be short on your wedding day paying venders because you thought Mom and Dad would help foot the bill.

When we sat down and started planning our wedding it was stressful, but we managed. We compromised on what we wanted to pick something perfect for the both of us. Don't let yourself be blinded by the allure of wedding planning. Take what your fiancé has to say in mind when making all the financial decisions. This is his wedding as much as yours.

Once you have your budget of what is the max you want to spend then you can break up how you want to spend the money.

I broke our budget down by what I found most important and then delegated it that way. Keep in mind some big portions of your budget can't be avoided like Venue, Alcohol and Food; otherwise known as VAF. That will take up the most of your budget sorry guys it's the fact of life. There is no way around it. Especially if you're having a destination wedding these people are paying their way to some place not close to home the least you can do for them is give them good booze and food.

In the Philadelphia metro area venues charge a flat rate of $6,000-$10,000 and that only includes using the space no extras- no decor, no food and no booze in that price! Destination venues sometimes don't have venue fees or are much lower. For example in Punta Cana venue prices vary from $1,500-$5,000US that is a lot more doable when only having a budget of $20,000.

Alcohol will probably be your next most expensive portion of your budget - unless you want floor to ceiling flowers. Every venue I looked at in the US and Punta Cana, DR the Alcohol was priced per person/per hour. Which actually PC was only cheaper by a few dollars per person/per hour - which yes is a big jump and helps a lot but the venue prices measured out to be the same per plate as venues back at home.

Once you decide on your max price be aware you might pay more than you originally thought to. My advice is to make a comfortable budget and a max budget. The max is the most you absolutely can afford. The comfortable budget is what you bring to the table when plan.

After you and your partner figure out what is the max you want to spend comfortably then you can decided how you want to spend your budget. You both need to decide what is most important and rate them. Your VAF (Venue, Alcohol, and Food) should be the top of the list in your budget. There is no way around that will eat up most of your budget.

Summary: Be honest on what you can afford, it's not always fun but it IS necessary. Don't forget to remember your fiancé has a say in what's important. I'm sorry to say it but isn't the 1900s this wedding isn't all about you(the bride) it's about BOTH of you. Once you have your budget set you can then decide on a venue or having the wedding on resort.

Whatever you choose make sure it fits in your budget and is what you both want. It's not fun living in a poor house to spend it all within a span of 16 hours on one day.

Mer-Sea & Co Scarf - This item was one I was NOT looking forward to - Another scarf? Come on give us something new!! However I'm in love with it. It's softer than a baby's butt! I picked the blue color scarf which I know I'll be using a lot this fall and winter, it's so soft and has a good weight to it. I'm a little surprised that this scarf is 100% polyester, it doesn't feel that way. The big downside is that this is a handwash item which is annoying. While this scarf retails for $98 and I love it - I wouldn't repurchase this scarf myself. That is wayyyy to expensive for a scarf let alone a polyester scarf.

Coxet Wire Heart Ceramic Jewelry Holder - I was excited for this item initially but after getting it if feels super flimsy for something that costs $33 normally. While I will definitely put it to use and it does look cute I wouldn't repurchase it.

Private Party Gym Bag - This was a really cute add on. This wasn't the fitness item I was truly looking to get I still love it. My bag's saying is "Will workout for cupcakes." Which is 100% true! This feels super sturdy jean like material, even though I fill this up with all my gym items. This retails for $59. I would purchase a bag like this for the gym around that price. Very cute and functional.

Deco Miami Lavender Cuticle Oil - This oil is awesome! I put it on my fingertips at night before I go to bed before lotion with my moisture gloves (or rubber gloves) to lock the moisture in. Since we've been doing renovations on our new house my nails and cuticles have been in shambles. This oil is has helped with this a lot. I will definitely purchase this when this bottle is done! This retails for $12.50.

Whish Beauty Renewing Mud Mask - I use a lot of mud masks in general. I rotate between 4 masks I use regularly 2 mud masks and 2 Lush masks. I used this twice already and like it. My skin feels smooth and soft after using this. To be honest this mask doesn't do anything more special than my current mud masks. This is not to say this isn't a great mask. It has to be a great mask to be on the same level as the ones in my routine currently. I would recommend it but once this is used up if I don't see much difference after 2 months of using this I won't repurchase. I'm a firm believer when you find something that works there is no need to switch it up when it comes to your skin. This retails for $48. I would recommend this as of now.

Mytagalongs Hot & Cold Gel Pack - I've only used this as a cold back so far. It works well after a couple defrosts and refreezes. I really like it and will definitely repurchase when the wear and tear of this item makes me throw it out. I think the price is a good price for something that feels super sturdy. I'm not afraid the package will pop. This retails for $15.

Trestique Matte Color & shiny Balm Lip Crayon - I'm a huge Lipsense fan so this doesn't really interest me. I might use it, I might not. I haven't tested it out yet. I've actually have a few items from this brand due to boxes like Ipsy and Sephora yet haven't actually purchased anything from this band myself yet. This retails for $28.

The Beauty Innovation Boost:

Dphue Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse- I haven't actually tried this yet so I won't ring in on it. I'm an avid WEN user and has been since almost the start of this blog. I'm really excited to give this a go. This wouldn't be something I'd use every day but something to clarify my scalp I think. I will be doing a review on this after a few uses. Retails for $35.

Fashion Boost:

Mia Belt- I wasn't thrilled with either fashion item to pick. I figured I'd get more use out of the belt. It feels super sturdy for being a 100% synthetic leather. I will definitely be using this with some outfits to clinch in my waist. This belt retails for $55 and I can say I wouldn't purchase this again if it breaks. I wouldn't pay that much for fake leather.

Their "free" item of the box was Cottonelle Flushable wipes. Which I actually use in real life. Theiy're great when you have your period- enough said. Here you can get a 12 pack of travel ones. This link gives you what I buy for our house. I purchase them in bulk because they're cheaper and these lasts me almost a full year! I also keep the full sized ones in my purse in a zip lock baggie.

ADD ONs:

I decided to give the resistance band workouts a try. I was able to pick up the Mytagalongs 3 resistance bands. I only used them once so far and they seem sturdy enough. It's my first encounter with resistance band training so I don't have much to compare with.

I also picked up the AHAVA Dead Sea Bath Salt I'm excited to give this a try but first I'll have to get my bathroom remodel finished before doing so.

UPDATE:

In my FabFitFun Spring 2017 box (Blog Post) I received the Nature's Bounty Hair, Skin & Nails Gummings with Biotin. I have since been repurchasing them! They taste great and have all the beauty vitamins I need to keep my skin and hair at it's top shape from the inside out. There's only 3 vitamins in these gummies Vitamin C & E and Biotin. Nice thing is there's no artificial colors or flavors in these gummies. A two pack on amazon at the time of the post are only $17.99 which is a steal since you have to pay the premium for gummy vitamins. I use theses gummies combined with my women's adult vitamin. I love when you can find an item in a box and integrate them into your life!

VERDICT: While a lot of these products I wouldn't repurchase again on my own I still love this box. I'll enjoy those while they last. I found at least 3 items I know that I would repurchase with 2 more I still have to try. To me that's a great box I highly suggest picking up the FabFitBun Fall 2017 box ASAP before it sells out! I am one who loves subscription boxes. From Birchbox to Ipsy to Sephora. I love them. It's soooooo fun to just come home from work and see a package full of goodies waiting on your door step. It's almost as nice as when I see my kittens waiting for me at the door after work! After following FabFitFun on Instagram for awhile I knew I had to try it. I got the Gypsy Roundie in a paisley print. I have to put this in my box of beach items. This will be so cute during a beach day trip! This is great for going on picnics too which is the suggested use. This is a bit more expensive then I'm willing to purchase so I found one just like it if you're interested in it.(Here's a link like the one I got) $50

The Mally Zip Pouch print I got was Haute Mess. This is perfect to pair with the roundie in this box for a beach day trip. When I go on beach day trips to the Jersey shore I never stay in my wet suit all day. I use the bathrooms (even though they don't want you to do that)- to switch out of my suit to put normal clothes on. This pouch gives me the peace of mind that my wet suit wont mess up my other items in my bag. But be warned your suit will have a yucky beach sent after being stored in it for a few hours so take it home and wash it ASAP when you can. $45

This also a bit more than I would normally be willing to spend on a wet suit bag so I found 3 cute ones at a better price point I'd be willing to spend. It's also a prime item!!

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray in my box smells so good! I've used it for about a week so far and my ends feel nice afterwards. I still have to wait until I give my final verdict on this product. I wash my hair with Wen as usual while still soaking wet in the shower I put about a dime size worth of wen in it. After I take my hair down from my towel I spray some on the Rosarco Conditioning Spray on my ends before I comb my hair. I feel like not only does it soften my ends even more but is a great detangler! $20

Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator by Dr. Brandt Skincare® is something that I've been using on and off. I've gotten a ton of samples of these at different points. I really like it. I'd recommend this. I can say I don't have a favorite exfoliator because I mostly use chemical exfoliators. $79

Karuna Hydrating+ Face Mask is really nice. I only used one so far but I love it. I've been having a dryness problem with my skin lately as I've been more aggressive with my hormonal chin acne. This mask made my skin feel baby soft! In my Fabfitfun box we got a 4 pack of masks. $28

Realher Lip Kit in Neutral Pink is the shade I got. This liquid lipstick looks pretty and feels nice. Still testing the quality and lasting power. But so far so good! I like it! $48

Deborah Lippman nail polish set Blue Orchid/Like a Virgin is a perfect spring color combo. White polish - Like a Virgin and pastel blue of Blue Orchid are my all time favorite spring shades to wear. I had lady luck on my side that I got this color combo set. $19

I never tried the Luv AJ jewelry before but the set in my box are the Diamond Kite Crawler Earring Set. I normally wear a lot of cheap jewelry as earrings since they're so easy to loose. This is higher than I normally am willing to purchases but I love how the earring crawlers are the latest in thing jewelry trends! $85

I also got Nature's Bounty Hair, Skin & Nails Gumming with Biotin. There's a only 3 body good vitamins in these gummies Vitamin C & E and Biotin. Nice thing is there's no artificial colors or flavors in these gummies. $10.05 for a 40 day supply. $10

VERDICT:All in all this box to me was a home run. Products that I will definitely be using. However I'm a little disappointed that it wasn't more fitness oriented like I thought it would be.

Today was the first Sunday in a long time my Hubby and I got to just be lazy. I normally like to go, go, go on the weekends but today we took it slow. I played around with new makeup.

I decided to try lipsense two weeks ago so I finally got a chance to really take it for a test drive today. We went on errands. We did a quick lunch at Dunkin Donuts - Iced coffee with bacon, egg and cheese on a wrap (to cut down on carbs). My lipsense lasted through a quick lunch but needed a quick moisture kick with another layer. It stayed on during my small apartment gardening stint. I really like these. I buy from my friend Kandice. She is a distributor for lipsense. Her shop is called "The Unicorn of Beauty" you can shop through her here.

I also have been loving the half bun trend, it's so easy to just throw your bangs up out of your face but still leave your hair down in the back. I also love a way to spice up my hair. I have been OBSESSED with the Jen Atkin X Chloe + Isabel hair pieces. I own the hair pins, ponytail clips, and bun cuffs. Today I wore the their original bun cuff in Hematite. I am also wearing the Portico Stud Duo Earrings.

The women I shop with is Laura Tiny Fox! She's a great women to work with. I've been to other people's jewelry parties and I hosted one with her at my apartment. I truely love Chloe + Isabel jewelry but have a huge soft spot for all their hair accessories. I know they're on the pricy side but the quality of these items are amazing! They have gotten almost daily use on a rotation and look brand new. I even had an issue with one of my barrettes and because Chloe + Isabel stand by their quality of products they sent me a replacement which I never had an issue with.

What the world and I have been waiting for is the Sephora subscription box. As soon as I got the email to subscribe to the Sephora box I did it right away. I knew spots for that would go like hot cakes! I have been subscribed since this past summer. Today I am thrilled to share my April box!

I have to say Sephora hit a home run in this box! I already use two products and I found a new one that I'd like to purchase the full size!

The item I adore is the Philosophy's Purity Made Simple Face Cleanser. While I don't always agree with the one step cleanser I do love it on light makeup days or on heavy makeup days as a second cleanse to remove the last bit of my makeup. This is one item that I continue to repurchase. This and the Sephora Collection cleansing oil is my makeup removing dream team!

I have gotten many samples of the Sephora Collection Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover so this is nothing new for me to discover in this box. I have to say even though it states it's gentle for the eyes it still makes my eyes burn. However while it stings it does work. I'd rather use their oil cleanser to get that job done.

While the Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer isn't my favorite out there I will use this up! This a perfect to throw in my travel makeup bag. Even though this isn't my favorite foundation primer it's a damn good one! I just wouldn't say this lasted all day for me. I tend to get greasy at the end of the day with this.

Even though I can't remember the last time I used something other then liquid eyeliner this Makeup Forever Aqua XL waterproof Eyeliner in M-10 won't go to waste. I got the color black which is perfect for tightlining my lash line. By tightlining my lash line it will make my lashes look fuller and blend my false lashes with my real ones.

The item I am looking to purchase is the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream. It feels great on my face and layers well with the currant oil I use in the morning in my morning skin care routine.

I've had good luck finding perfumes I love when Sephora sends samples. MIU MIU L'Eau Bleue instantly made me nostalgic when I first smelt it. It smells so similar to my mother's signature perfume: Wings by Giorgio Beverly Hills . I couldn't even tell you what notes they had together other than the Lilly scent and the warm amber scent. They are not an exact dupe but they give me the same feeling.

#CATMOMLIFE - while trying to take photos for my blog post my two little ones Apollo and Artemis had to be in on the action! They're so cute I had to include them in this post!!

I'm back I hope! I'm not here to write an apologetic letter to anyone who may stumble across my sleeping beauty blog. I'm here to say life got busy, I got married, and I took a nice break from being hounded by numbers and page views and forced content writing for something I didn't love as much as I used to.

I have been for months now thinking of how I wanted to return to blogging because I missed it, because I felt like I had something more to contribute to blogging again. I have been thinking about what I'd like to share and how I'd like to share it. So here's to me coming back! Watch out I have many things I want to share with you. Like planning a wedding, running as a plus size girl, dealing with adult acne and the pressures of being a girl in a men dominated work force.

I'm Engaged! Now What? The First Steps You Need To Take After You Get Engaged

You're engaged! Congratulations!! What an exciting and thrilling time

in your life! Everyone is asking to see your ring and then instantly

asks 'When is the wedding?' Like magically once that ring hits your

finger people seem to think you have the whole wedding mapped out.

Crazy one day you were just dating then the next you're supposed to

have your whole life planned out. Scary isn't it?

Read on to see what should be your first action as an engaged couple!

Well I'm here to shed a little light on what I believe to be the

absolute most important thing you should do first when planning a

wedding- figure out your budget. Seems like a no brainier right? Can't

make any decisions without knowing you can pay for it. Surprisingly

what I found is usually the 4th or 5th that is decided and never kept

firm.

Make a budget. I'm serious do it. Without a budget there won't be a wedding.

You could google wedding budget templates and find million different

templates like this one:

This is a sample of what I created to make our own wedding budget. This is a one to start with before you go into more detail with items you wish to include in your special day.

When creating your budget talk with your fiancé honestly what your

income is and how much you can squirrel away in a year or two to pay for

a wedding. Sit down with your parents and find out if they will help

and by how much. I know the money talk can get a little uncomfortable

sometimes but it needs to be done.

Once you know who will help with what you can add that into your

reserved funds. Remember to make a firm amount of what you'd like to

spend but make sure there is about $5,000 of wiggle room in your

budget. Seems like a lot but you'd be surprised how many little costs

arise that have to be paid for like postage on invites, return stamps,

tips, vow books, center pieces. All of those things add up really

fast.

Now making your budget think about your living arrangements. Are you

renting but want to purchase a house? Are you living at home but want

to move out on your own. Things to think about and costs that can

affect your budget.

The way Joe & I planned and paid for our wedding was waiting. We will

be engaged for almost 4 years before we get married. Not an ideal wait

time but we decided it would be great to get married and buy a house

at the same time while I struggle with paying my school loans-

brilliant idea on my part.

My other word to the wise is - if you think you can save and pull off

getting married in 2 years put the wedding off for 3 years to give

yourself wiggle room. We regret not pushing the wedding off for

another year. We realize we probably should have waited for 4 years to get married to have more of a nest egg.

Another thing that plays a big role in your budget is school loan

debt. It's a serious crisis millioums are dealing with. The 'Go to

college that costs $20,000 a year and live there- you'll get a great

job at graduation', but then you don't. Don't discount the amount of

money school loans will suck out of your paychecks.

Where you live/plan the location of the wedding itself will dictate

how big your budget should be. After much research in the Philadelphia

area most venues have a venue cost, a per person cost, cocktail hour

per head costs AND a decoration costs. Most Philadelphia venue cost is

$6,000- to $10,000 alone not including feeding and boozing your guests

or decorations for the venue. Just an example to show how truly high

the cost of weddings are.

With all my points to think about when creating a budget it's a lot to

take in. Making the budget shouldn't be done lightly but lots of

thought. Do you really want to spend $30,000 for one day in your life?

Is that $5,000 dress really worth it? Can you afford to go on a

honeymoon after the wedding? All big questions only you and your

fiancé can answer.

As stressful as this planning is it will be one of the most exciting

times in your life. Take a breath and relax. Just enjoy that exciting

sparkle of being newly engaged. Congratulations to you and yours-

wishing you happy planning ahead!

Why Brands Can Sometimes Be Your Enemy.

I want to explain my absent from blogging. Let's just begin this I'm not here to sugar coat things. I want to be as honest and real about situations a long time blogger can face when dealing with brands.

As a blogger you want to be big, and popular. That's just a natural thing to want, you want people to read your blog. You want companies to want to work with you. I feel that way from time to time.

It's truly hard to do; constantly creating content that's appealing to you and your audience. Throw in a full time job and life it just gets difficult. Make it a little more hectic a full time job, working out, and a significant other then blogging becomes near impossible. Which if you are working with a brand they might not understand/care. Not everyone can not work. Not everyone has the luxury to only blog and live off their online earnings. Not everyone will have the spark to capture people's attention. (I, myself think that I lack that spark sometimes) The blogging sphere has exploded and flooded in the last 2 or 3 years.

Here's a little word to the wise from one burnt out blogger to the next. Unless you think you'll love the item/concept don't offer to review it.

You can tell a brand before working with you that you have the choice not to review if you do not like the item but they won't care. They will turn nasty sometimes.

Sometimes they will approach you, send you products then turn around and insult you. They will tell you that your follower count is too small. That you do not have enough of an impact. Well that hurts. Contact me first just to insult me.

It's not fun to be bullied by a brand. Not even a good brand at that.

My end advice to all the bloggers out there be you. Be the brand you created for yourself. If you don't think you'll like the product then don't offer to review it. Be honest when you go to review it. Don't lie and make the product sound better then it is.

But most of all, don't let yourself be bullied by a brand. Don't let it ruin blogging for you.

I have been using Madam Glam Gel polishes since 2014 when they first came out(here). That's a really long time in the beauty world without jumping to a new brand, like decades really. I have to say my love has stayed true, with only straying once or twice to try something new before circling back to my tried and true.

What I found:

Madam Glam states up to 3 weeks of wear time and they are not lying! When I'm feeling especially lazy I will leave my Madam Glam Gel manicures for that long. I have 4 regular shades and 2 chameleon shades.

Wear time is phenomenal with the chameleon shades! I'm so impressed that they continued to change on the drop of a dime even two weeks in!

I think my favorite thing about the Madam Glam Gel line is their base and top coat. I combine those two with all my gel polishes. I really notice the wear time and shine difference when I do. I swear it's magic in a bottle.

I have been MIA for a few months - pulling my life together - so please excuse me I don't have a before shot, or messy cuticles. I can't be perfect for the camera. This is 100% honest even if some of the products are PR samples. I'm not here to be best friends with a brand.

As you can tell a before and after shot. This was borderline 3 weeks of wear. I had tip wear on the ends but no chips. It did start to lift from the base of the polish after 2 weeks. The shine never faded! I love this polish the most, so many women at work asked what shade it was! Shade: Vintage Pink #419

This is the before and after of about 2 weeks of wear with the Chameleon Gel polish. Even at the end the color changed seamlessly. I do have to say it's a *%$&# to remove! I filed the top of the gel down quite a bit(just make sure you don't hit the nail bed) it STILL took 15 minutes of soaking before I had to scrape it off! Shade: Pop Goes My Heart

This is one of my favorite mermaid green colors. A favorite to wear in the summer. It's such a lovely shimmery ocean color. Shade: California Love #309

This is the most perfect white polish I have ever used. Great as a base. Perfect by itself! I do have to note that it will start to darken after about a week of wear, it gets this tan tint to it. I used it as a base for my mermaid nails here. Shade: Perfect White 1

PROS:

Applies evenly - even the glittery polishes!
Does not run into cuticles when curing
lasts at least 2 weeks, even stretched 3 weeks before.
Minimum tip wear, even with a desk job!
Cures evenly every time
Base and Top coat works amazing with other brand gel polish too!
Can use top coat to extend wear of regular polish for 2 weeks
always running promos!
Very reasonably priced for the large amount of polish given!

CONS:

Needs the full 15 minutes to soak before needing to be scraped off
Wish there was a wider Gel collection color line
Glittery Gel shades a &*$%#@&* to remove
The white polish will tint tan after about a week of wear
Website isn't as easy to navigate, sometimes I don't want to log in to look at the selection.

VERDICT: As you can tell I do love this brand but it does have it's pitfalls, everything does. I think you get a lot of product for your money verses the tinny tiny Gelish or Gelaze polish. I use Madam Glam base and top coat with my regular polish. I've actually repurchased those myself!

I find it so fitting my return to blogging is to share the December Wen TSV! I am back with big news! I found a job! I finally found a big girl job after college! It came out with the usual seasonal flavors.

I have tried all of these but Winter Mint. My favorite out of this group is torn between Ginger Pumpkin and Honey Lilac(Review). While I love how my hair smells and looks with Pumpkin, I'm not a fan of the scent of Honey Lilac. As for Honey Peach and Coconut Lime I don't really like how it treated my hair, they felt oily and knotty at the bottom. (Review)

Overall I'm backing this as a good buy. I am personally skipping this due to I picked up the September TSV in two different flavors and all stocked up! Will you be buying this TSV? Which are your favorite flavors?

I loved Nivea's In Shower Lotion in Shea Butter but I wanted to try the most moisturizing in shower lotion for the next one I tried. I wanted to see if I saw a moisture difference. Click down below to find out!

HOW IT WORKS

The patent pending formula absorbs into wet skin in seconds and provides 24hr+ of moisturization

What I found:

I have to admit right off the bat I did not notice a moisture difference between the Shea Butter and the Almond Oil. What I did pick up was a smell difference! I'm not a huge fan of Shea Butter so I much prefer the Almond Oil scent of the Nivea InShower Lotion in the Almond Oil scent.

I love using this in the shower, during the summer I never had to apply lotion except for bed! BUT in the winter months I still did apply lotion after my shower. I don't need a heavy lotion after my shower when I use this but I feel in the bitter cold months you just need a little extra moisture than what the in shower lotion offers.

also feel like you get a lot of bang for your buck, this stuff lasts forever! This is also 13.4 oz of product so for around $6 this is a lot of lotion for your buck. I also feel that I do not use more product than if I was using normal lotion to moisturize.

I think the only thing I didn't like about this in shower lotion is that there was no moisture difference between this one and the Shea Butter one.

How to use:

Wash your body off first to make sure you have a clean surface for the lotion to soak in.
I apply Neiva in Shower lotion after I put my second round of Wen in (After applying conditioner) all over my body.
Wait with it on your body for about 2 minutes. I usually comb my hair with the Wen in it then wash my face and décolletage with my Clarisonic while I wait
After I wait the 2 minutes(or whenever I feel like it) I wash my hair clean then make sure all the lotion washed off too
All done no need to moisturize with regular lotion(Unless it's bitter cold out)!

PROS:

Skin is moisturize for hours after application
No need to layer regular lotion(Unless it's bitter cold out)
Skin feels normal after use
Does not make shower slippery
Skin feels clean even after use - but this is no way soap
This 13.5 oz bottle lasts FOREVER!

CONS:

I did not notice a mosture difference between Almond Oil and Shea Butter Flavor
Moisturizing, but wouldn't say 24+hours

VERDICT: Nivea In Shower lotion in Almond Oil for Very Dry skin is in my budget. I full heartily recommend giving Nivea's In Shower lotion a whirl. I will be personally repurchasing this when I'm done this bottle! I think I want to try the cocoa butter one next!

What I found:

This is no Ro Body Conditioner but this is really good! I find my skin when dried off feels nice and smooth. I do not feel the need to moisturize after my shower, unless I'm sunburned then the aloe goes on too.

My skin doesn't feel greasy or that it has residue left on it. In the shower my skin feels slick after I wash it off but once I dry off my skin feels normal.

I also feel like you get a lot of bang for your buck, this stuff lasts forever! This is also 13.4 oz of product so for around $6 this is a lot of lotion for your buck. I also feel that I do not use more product than if I was using normal lotion to moisturize. I do feel like I use this more often, because I do have the bad habit of not using regular lotion for days at a time- sorry skin!

My only con is I'm not a fan of the scent. I wouldn't call it offensive nor does it linger - thank god! It's eh in the scent department. Which is a good thing I suppose since this in shower body lotion will not interfere with your perfume.

After I wait the 2 minutes I wash my hair clean then make sure all the lotion washed off too
All done no need to moisturize with regular lotion!

PROS:

Skin is moisturize for hours after application
No need to layer regular lotion
Skin feels normal after use
Does not make shower slippery
skin feels clean even after use
This 13.5 oz bottle lasts FOREVER!

CONS:

My only complaint is I'm not a fan of the scent
Moisturizing, but wouldn't say 24+hours

VERDICT: While I will always love Lush's Ro Body Conditioner, Nivea In Shower lotion in Shea Butter for Dry skin is more in my budget. It works just as well in my opinion, just doesn't smell as nice. That all being said I full heartily recommend giving Nivea's In Shower lotion a whirl. I will be personally repurchasing this when I'm done this bottle!

I have to say that trying to find a new job has been eating up all my free time. It makes me push blogging to the back burner! Hopefully I can get into a routine!

Does anyone have suggestions for getting yourself into a blogging routine?

I HAD to pick Celaena Sardothien/Aelin Galathynius from the Throne of Glass series. I have been reading this series long before she actually was published when it was online. That's how much a a bookworm I used to be! It has changed a lot when she had her series offically published but I still loved the main character. There was never enough badass women characters in books. She needs no one to save her, which I love!

A little bit about the series, it starts off as a young adult story but honestly by the 4th book it's not so young adult anymore. The story progresses with the development of the main character becoming even more of a badass. The story is set in a far off land back in medieval times with magic and feyres and witches. I just love it, I just don't feel like I'm doing it justice because there is just SO much going on in the series!

Today's manicure I wanted to do it based on her magical powers of fire!

I seriously do not know why my ombre nails did not turn out. I used a white as my base. I much like my second attempt better don't you?

I have to come right out and say - I'm in love with them! I own four colors so far, saving my pennies to get a few more! These seriously have become a staple for me, and a purchased the basic and fun color to put in my makeup artist kit as well!

Not only do these photograph well they are so lifeproof it's great to wear for special occasions to have lasting lip color! Kiss proof too! - Well light kissing, like wedding day kisses!

These can be a little messy to apply so I suggest using a lip pencil to create your outline then fill in with the liquid lipsticks. Take filling in your lips a section at a time to help with the neat crisp lines!

Am I the only one who thinks Car Light is the best light for selfies? I can't be the only one who loves to take a good car selfie before work!

Another amazing thing about this bran is that it's Cruelty Free! Yay! I'm working my way to all cruelty free makeup so this is great news for me!

Am I the only one who some how misplaces products when I need to review them? Honestly it happens so often it drives me crazy! Here are my swatches below, don't mind the repeats Requeium decided to go for a walk so I had to have repeat swatches.

Not all colors lasts as long as others. - Noble I'm looking at you!
Can be messy to apply
Pricy - but not really since you get a lot of bang for your buck!

VERDICT: Overall I'm in love with these liquid lipsticks and highly suggest you pick up at least the basics then a fun color! I can not recommend these liquid Lipsticks enough! LOVE them! Seriously guys go out and by them, like run!
