A Little Monday Inspiration

a little motivation to get me into the fitness mode

How to Appropriately Dress for those Lazy/ Slump Days

This is what you SHOULD NOT look like

We all have those extreme tiring days.

You have 30 minutes to get ready and head out the door.

No time for prepping and primping, just grab and go!

Just keep in mind not to look like this.

Never leave the house looking like you have a ~~hangover,~~ ~~been hit by a car~~, or you just don't care.

People respect well dress individuals.

The Basics

Sweats are cool, not necessarily my thing.

(I'd rather spend my $$ on makeup lol)

1. Boyfriend or oversized jeans are theee best alternative!!

They fit like sweat pants but you can wear them in a vast amount of ways.

2. White shirts are simplistic, inexpensive, and goes with everything.

3. Cardigans are the bomb.com, comfortable, hides any body rolls, and goes w/ anything.

4. A scarf will never do you wrong, wrap around the head or the neck for an added boost.

EXTRAS

5. Sunglasses will cover tired eyes and hide 1/2 your face, also try non-prescript lenses!

6. Boots are cool, but I'll grab flats or loafers if I'm trying to be comfy.

7. Oversized purses will carry all your books and add an additional style factor to your outfit:)

My current situation.

For some reason, I can not get enough sleep.

Let me repeat!

I CAN NOT GET ~~ENOUGH~~ SLEEP.

I slept an entire 7 hours last night.

Way more than I ever received in my entire 4 years of college.

I'm sipping on an expresso shot w/ caramel and I'm still tired.

My spanish homework will not finish itself.

What is a girl to do to wake herself up???

I'm just going to browse glamour.com to receive some type of energy to stimulate my mind:)

Its been about two weeks post my New York City trip.
Its something captivating about the craziness of the city: the hustle, the fast pace, the ~~rats~~ garbage cleaners.
Everyone seems to be in route to somewhere or completing a deadline.
As crazy and intense the city is, its the perfect drug to forget all your problems, concerns, and doubts.
You enter the city with your personal baggage, but leave with a lighter load and a slight no nonsense mentality.
Only 7 days spent throughout the city, I obtained a slight "New York City State of Mind".
No nonsense, being ahead of time, dressing chic, making "it" happen, and enjoying life is what I'm learning to live by.
A week can influence you, but it takes a journey to change you.
Let the voyage be in sight.

I've been living for nights in the City!! Nothing less than lipstick and curls. My mom brought me the best heels from MARSHALs, so comfortable, so stylish, and easy to walk in. I've notice I've been pulling for them every time we feel the need to venture into the city. Also, it's something about white pants (honestly, they are the only thing I can wear due to my crazed weight gain) they make your hips look music video fabulous. Any who, let the outfits pour in:)

Music Minds | Solange, Common, and Estelle Pandora Station

As I take a study break to write this post, I truly do appreciate Pandora Radio.

I've always loved Estelle's radio station for her amazing british voice.

That woman makes me want to grab a hair brush and start singing.

Also, the brits that come along with her station gives me nostalgia of my summer in London.

Adele, Macy Gray, Amy Winehouse, Corrine Bailey Rae, and Marsha Ambrosious makes me more then thrilled that I have ears!

Solange's Radio is one of no other.

She has a sound that I can not describe.

I truly sit back and enjoy, with one sweet smile on my face.

Her style is emulated straight through her music.

Her song "Losing Me" introduced me to this artist named Solange.

One thing I love about her station is it versatility.

The songs of John Legend, Erykah Badu, Robin Thicke, and Kanye West make numerous appearances.

Simply amazing.

Mr. Common.

Nothing but true music and a mesmerizing voice.

Now Common is a poet and who doesn't love a poetic genius.

Common just makes me happy because his lyrics makes me read them like a page in a book.

And the way he describes a woman....Praise Sweet Jesus!

He gives hope out there for any woman who are so called "Done with these black men"

Every time I see that bald head, I do my happy dance.

Praise the parents that made that educated man.

You can hear and feel all the passion he puts into his music.

Just like Solange, Common's station is VERSATILE.

But one thing that I do love about his station is the TRUE hip hop artist, like The Roots and Mos Def.

The sounds of truth and realism of his station makes me:

1. Lay on my bed

2. Close me eyes

3. Place my hands over my head

4. And Groove

The appearances of Naughty by Nature, Snoop Dog, and Outkast keeps my head swaying; while my mind is stimulated.

Its funny how the smallest thing can trigger the truth that is festoring inside of you. It could be a music video, a phrase or simply, a smell. All it takes is one glance and your immediately hook, its replaying in your head over and over! All you can imagine is what use to be and what could have been. Its almost like a parasite, it seeps through an opening and controls your body. Its the monster living inside of you. No matter how you try to focus and direct your mind else where, its a big stop sign holding you in back. The biggest hand in the middle of my chest and the hardest rock to move. All you want to do is break through it and see what it will be. Its not that you are holding on to the past but your dwelling on the possible future.

we all have days that we just want to cry but that voice in your head says NO. well ive learned a few things from my more than entertaining brother ( although he bugs me to high heavens all the time, he gives theee best advice ever ). so here are a few things i've learn from him..
   *when your talking to a person and you get emotional, walk away and take time to get yourself together
   *people will only listen to you when you speak calmly and with respect
   *even when you think you are utterly and completely right in a situation, the other person feels the EXACT same
   *in life your either the prey or the predator ( when he said this a light bulb in my braind popped open )
   *when your in an extremely heated conversation, dont let the other person hear you cry, be confident and get your point across respectfully
   *no matter how much you bicker with your siblings they will always be there for you
   *always appreciate the good times you spent with a person, because those memories will happen again
   *at the end of the day make sure your happy!

Basically I'm all out of my hair ideas, so I decied to do a sleek classic look. I cowashed my hair and need a cute look to runs some errand. I had no time to creat a style so I just slicked my hair back with flaxseed gel that I made and used a hair donut to create a polished look. Not only is this a quick style, it also can be an amazing pre-pooing style or protective style for the winter.

Now im taking my hair bake to its roots, THE FRO! After washing my hair I brushed it out then picked it out with an afro pick. It was simple, easy, and still no heat :)
