Star Style: Blake Lively's Fresh, Luminous Look

Blake Lively looked nothing short of amazing-- does this woman ever look bad??-- when she attended Chanel's "Fête d'Hiver" Benefit last week.

Makeup artist Angela Levin took inspiration for Blake Lively's makeup look from the actress's Chanel diamond camelia brooch.

"I wanted her eyes to be dark and sexy, but the rest of her face to be light and fresh. She's young and sexy and wears a smoky eye so well!", says Levin.

To acheive that "light and fresh" look, Levin used Chanel Lift Lumiere Fluid Makeup in Beige ($65, chanel.com) all over her face, and set it with Poudre Cristalline Translucent Powder ($60, macys.com). On her cheeks she dusted on Chanel Blush Duo in Tweed Rose.

For her eyes, bronze and sand shade eyeshadows were used as well as a deep plum shade that added dimension in the crease.

Blake's eyes were lined on the upper and lower lashes with a black shimmer liner and three coats of mascara.

To finish the look, a soft pink lip was created with Chanel Rouge Allure in Mythic ($30, chanel.com), a fabulous nude shade, topped with a bit of Rouge Allure Laque in Ming ($32, nordstrom.com).

Beauty Tip: Correct Bubbled Polish

Bubbles are fun, but not when they pop up on nails. This typically occurs with polish when base coat is skipped or polish is applied without allowing a adequate dry time between coats. Ji Baek, owner of Rescue Beauty Salons in NYC and the Rescue Beauty line of nail polishes shares her recommendation for correcting this all too common foible:

"Dip the pad of your finger into nail polish remover and smooth over the bubbled area. That evens out the polish and redistributes the color."

At the Keep a Child Alive Blackball Gala, many of Hollywood's humanitarians turned out to show their support. Elegance was an obvious theme, and Paula Patton's own elegant look really caught our attention.

Ursula Stephen, Celebrity Stylist for Motions hair products, created Paula's gorgeous pompadour-esque hairstyle, proving once again that red-carpet looks never have to break the bank. Here's the inside scoop on how this show-stopping style was created:

Ursula applied a Motions Light Styling Foam ($5.99, amazon.com) all over Paula's hair, then blew it dry in an upward direction for volume.

Using a 1 1/4" curling iron, waves were created throughout her hair.

With a fine-toothed comb, emphasizing on the crown, Ursula teased the hair.

Using her fingers, Ursula gently pulled hair into a twist while keeping the sides smooth, without losing volume at the crown, and secured with small hair pins.

The look was finished with Motions Light Hold Working Spritz ($4.99, drugstore.com).

As beauty-loving women, we like to have our tips and toes polished. We love experimenting with the latest color trends as well as sticking to the classics. Fragrance Sneak Peek: Sarah Jessica Parker's SJP NYC

We recently discovered that Sarah Jessica Parker has a new fragrance in the works called SJP NYC, and we are beyond excited. It not only means the chance to add a new scent to our beloved collection, but also that we are so much closer to the 'Sex and the City' sequel.

Sarah Jessica Parker told Women's Wear Daily about her inspiration behind the new scent:

"A large part of the inspiration was what I now understand to be people's impressions of seeing Carrie Bradshaw walk down the street and what feelings that evokes for her and for them-- a real sense of freedom and possibilities, a love for the city around her and, of course, fashion. We started with this idea that we wanted to create something fun. We wanted to create a party in a bottle and reflect that in the packaging with a real sense of whimsy, fun and joie de vivre."

SJP NYC will first be released in Macy's February 2010. Then in May, to coincide with the release of the second 'Sex and the City' movie, the fragrance will expand its reach to an additional 1,500 department and specialty stores in the U.S., and to 16 countries.
