Colour Block | Fashion Blog

Colour really inspires me. I only need to see something with rainbow colouring and I'm hooked! Hence why i had rainbow hair extensions when i was a teen :) and I'm really loving the colour block trend that's being seen about at the minute. Especially when its a nude, natural colour with just a flash or section of neon, bold or pastel colour incorporated in there. so here are my top picks and some inspiration for you guys from the colour block trend. Revlon's new Just bitten kissable balm stain

I'm sorry i was supposed to write this agesss ago and just kept forgetting :( but here it is! Revlon just bitten kissable balm stains... a new sister product to there just bitten lip stain. Not going to lie i got a little bit excited about these and was adamant i was going to buy the entire range, but i haven't and honestly i only really like two of these colours, Rendezvous and Romantic. I found that they either looked smudgy or didn't really look so good colour wise when on the lips, so a little disappointed in these...but i do love rendezvous (orange) and Romantic (red) the red gives you a subtle muted red with a lip bitten look and the orange one is a real natural but bold orange and really easy to wear and definitely do leave some staining! So i have a total love hate relationship with this range guys, definitely worth a try though if your thinking of purchasing any! These are not unlike Cliniques chubby sticks which i have yet to buy, but really really wanna try out soon!! so watch this space!!!!!

Shoppin' Day in Manchester | Lush Haul

So today was me and the boyfriends (Lee) big shopping trip to Manchester, and obviously we just had to take a detour into the Lush store whilst we were visiting. This was his first time inside a Lush store and he is a Lush virgin, but it really excites me that he LOVED it! So we picked up a few goodies whilst inside...i purchased Space girl bath bomb (a fave of mine, smells of parma violets!) Avobath bath bomb, The enchanter bath bomb, Fizz banger bath bomb, Dorothy bubble bar (wasn't really going for bubble bars, but i just love the smell of this one!! heaven!) The comforter bubble bar (this one is Lee's, i treated him! he chose it) the bubblegum lip scrub and two fun bars, the orange and the blue. The fun bars i use in my children's bath. They are brill, they change the colour of the water and smell sweet too. Makes bath time much more fun for younger children! And it doubles up as bath friendly play dough...hence the name fun! As you can tell i prefer bath bombs to the bubble bars, i like both really but i just love getting into a bomb bath, i find it so much more relaxing and never fail to leave my skin super smooth afterwards. I will be stealing a cheeky bit of my boyfriend Lees the comforter bubble bar.....he doesn't know tho ;) he he

Feeling a little flushed?? | Benefit Bluff dust

I came across this little beauty when i was, gosh, 16 years old, and i found that every time i drank any alcohol (sorry i was a bit of a rebellious teen) that my face went bright red, like all the blood rushed to my cheeks and it was always sooo embarrassing. i still get this now sometimes, like when i drink wine, but no where near as often. so i figured i would search around for something to help the redness and found Benefit bluff dust which is a redness concealing powder. Inside the pot it yellow fine matte powder and a powder puff pad, and what you do is you just pat on the bluff dust in the areas you need to tone down any redness. I don't recommend using it all over because the yellow would really wash you out. Unless of course you have red inflamed acne and you want to use this for that, then yes all over the face would be fine. I think its fantastic! it really works wonders! I use it at the moment for when i get out of the bath or shower and the heat has made my face red, the bluff dust just evens it all back out again! It retails in at £17.50 so its not the cheapest...but really worthwhile if you suffer from redness. Big love for this!

**LUSH**

Lush is by far one of my favourite shops ever!! the stuff they make there are just gorge! so its only right that i indulge every now and then ;) this time i decided to get a few newbies to me. i purchased the Space girl bath bomb, Rose queen bath bomb and the Green bubbleroom bubble bar. i also received a free sample of the blue FUN which i used for my kids bath and although its made with lavender and is supposed to be relaxing it actually smelt of sweets :) its was lush i will definitely be buying one again to use for the kids baths in the future! also gave them a funky blue bath which was a major win for them :) The rose queen bomb smells really floral and fragrant i cant wait to use it i know its going to be great. the green bubbleroom i purchased because i wanted a clean fresh smelling bath and when i opened it to smell it smells really strong of fresh cut grass. at first i was like hmmm kinda funky but i really got used to it and i know its going to be a winner so excited to use that one too! ill keep you all posted! i used the space girl bomb last night and i am in love!! my bath was a cool purple colour and although i hate parma violets the sweets, i really love this! it smells like the parma violet sweets and i can still smell it now when i walk in my bathroom! i really recommend buying as its one of my new favourites. if you've never tried lush before..go get some bath stuff, its all brill! i promise you won't be disappointed!!

My Glossy Box | January 2013

Sooo today was the day that i got my first ever glossy box! it was exciting to say the least! iv seen many bloggers who receive beauty boxes and they always seem exciting, not knowing what your going to get, what awesome new brands you could discover and try! kind of like getting a surprise gift at Christmas :) so i opted to subscribe to glossy box, there was a choice between glossy box or birch box and to me glossy box seemed the most interesting? but who knows i may swap to birch box and give it a go in the future?
Glossy box is £10 per month to subscribe and for that price you get five slightly larger than sample size products all focused around a theme...so this months theme was detox, which for me was just fab as i just love anything pampering and good for the skin :)

Inside the box this month they have included - from left to right, A glossy dreams sleep mask | Premae balance rescue face tonique | Elemis skin glow exfoliator | Duck island body lotion | Jason lip balm stick | Monu aromatic warming mask.
I've noticed that other people do have different products in their boxes as it is tailored to suit each skin type and needs.
so the first thing i noticed when i opened the box was the sleep mask. personally this isn't something that i think i shall use! its not something I've ever looked at buying really? probably give this to my dad...as i know hes mentioned wanting a sleep mask in the past :P The next is the skin tonic and its not a product brand I've ever seen or heard of before...it smells limey and quite sweet but fresh. its applied with a cotton pad all over the face and i found it really refreshing and made my face feel really clean! once it had soaked into the skin my face, whoa, super smooth!! really like this tonic definitely would consider buying this at a full size in the future.
Next up is the elemis exfoliator...personally not a wower.. was excited to try this as i like elemis products but there was nothing that really made this stand out to me. One it was very orangey smelling which is my least favourite skincare smell. i wouldn't really buy any product...unless it was supposed to me like amazing...that smelt orangy/citrusy. Honestly didn't really feel like i was getting a good solid clean from this, face felt soft after my shower but... wont be buying this in the future..sorry elemis. Duck island body lotion hmmm again other orangy smelling product so not a fan although it did feel nice on my skin so if it was a nicer smell then yes i would consider purchasing this full size. Next was one of my faves and my most anticipated..the Jason balm. As you will come to realise i am a lip balm hoarder!! i always have one on me! my favourite brands being Burt's bees and ever trusted carmex :) not gonna say this quite lives up to the ideal but i do like it! its creamy so it gives my lips a nice pink look and its a minty balm which i always love! if i was to see it in say boots or somewhere i would buy one.
Final product is the monu mask which i am really really excited to try, it smells like a spa and from other people I've heard that monu do some really great products so I'm hoping this is a winner! :)

Korres watermelon tinted moisturiser | Review

Im one of those people who hates walking round the house with no make-up on, hair a mess, bleurgh! I'm not too fond of my patchy complextion, and always feel much better with a bit of foundation on to even out. But my boyfriend can never understand why i would wear make-up when i'm not even leaving the house? Guess its just an insecurety thing/slight make-up addiction :P soooo i decided to give tinted moisturiser a go! This is honestly the first tinted moisturiser i've ever bought as i never saw any use for one in the past, i looked around at a few and in the end decided to go for the korres watermelon lightweight tinted moisturiser|oil free. A couple of things drew me to this one, firstly being that it was from korres, personally i love korres products i think they do some fantastic products and they always look great, so its a brand i trust. Secondly the watermelon! when i think of watermelon i think of fresh, fruity and bright! watermelons one of those scents and flavours that always attracts me straight away. Lastly the oil free factor, i've always had a really oily t-zone so powder and matte make-up is a must in my make-up bag.

As you can see from the picture its quite a thick product with lots of colour and looks really like a foundation. The one i'm sampling here is the light sand shade, which is the palest of all three. When applied to the face it glides on easy but drys fast as its oil free so not very lubriated. Gave me an even full coverage which i was very impressed with and maintained the natural glow of a tinted moisturiser. Also lasted all day! Didnt feel it smelt too much like watermelon tho which was a disapointment, still smells lush though! it had an almondy smell actually, kinda reminded me off marzipan! Really liking this product can definatly see me repurchasing this one again the future! :)

Pastel Hair *Swoon*

One of my favorite trends of 2012/13!! what i wouldnt give to have blond hair right now! but alass my hair is dark and honestly rather damaged :( no bleach for me. boo. i am just so so in love with these pastel colours though! so trendy and edgy adding the perfect touch of individuality and a tad my little pony. can never get enough of channeling that grunge look.

HI! :) guess ill start off with this weeks beauty haul...all products i purchased from boots

1) so i'll start with the Boots essentials cleansing wipes :) these wipes are awesome! they are enriched with soothing cucumber, Aloe Vera and Vitamin E. Cucumber Cleansing Wipes remove all make-up including waterproof, leaving skin clean, soft and smooth. i love the cucumber element as it makes the wipes really fresh and smell really clean! and at a mere £1.50 you can't really go wrong..they do what they say on the tin and work just as good as all other competitive brands..and believe me i've tried loads! :) definitely recommend these if you want a great budget cleansing wipe. rating this a 10/10

2) botanics isn't really a brand i've delved into much in the past but I'm really loving the new brand packaging they have introduced and coupled with the natural plant extracts as the selling point i was automatically drawn to this! i purchased the Botanics radiant youth microdermabrasion polish 120ml £3.99, said to banish dull skin, refines pores and improve skin texture with a salon treatment experience. its got added ginko extract which is packed with antioxidants which work to protect skin from environmental damage.
The scrub is very course and isn't the nicest microdermabrasion i've used it actually made my face feel numb :) plus it has no smell which was a downer. but once washed off my gosh did my face feel soft and squeaky clean!! it does its job so 'id definitely say give this one a go! 7/10

3) essie nail varnishes are my faves!!i love the colour ranges and the quality is spot on! this week i purchased mint candy apple which is a pretty pastel green. will definitely be featuring this on my upcoming essie faves of 2012 blog coming soon :) 10/10

4) i am an avid hair salon product user, i've never had a great deal of luck with shop bought shampoos or conditioners as i have very dry, damaged hair caused by years of heat, product and hair dye/bleaching abuse but... i love love love this conditioner!! i am a soap and glory fanatic so i figured id give this a go.. its the mini glad hair day conditioner travel size and for £2.50 i couldn't lose really! but i love it my hair is soft not dry and feels great and shiny! also the conditioner has a fresh peachy smell too. win win! 10/10

5) soap and glory again with there 6-in-1 daily youth moisture lotion 50ml £9.00. smells good, its a subtle clean smell like most moisturisers so not a stand out smell at all. the product claims to fight fine lines and wrinkles, includes antioxidants to help protect against damage, moisturise and stimulate collagen, and packs both vitamins A&E to firm and smooth. personally nothing stands out with this moisturiser so far compared to other vitamin enriched moisturisers. it comes in a handy pump and is very fluid and easy to apply but doesn't sink in as well as i'd hoped, and so far no ''instant glow''. i'd give this product a 6/10

6) saw this lip product on another blog recently so figured i would try this out. its Revlon's just bitten kissable balm stain. i got this a bargain price of £5 it has an rrp of £7.99 so a saving of £2.99, thank you boots :) i purchased the orange crayon balm called rendezvous. it looks great on, a bold but sheer orange colour with the moisture of a lip balm but the colour of a lipstick. i am a terrible lip chewer but this maintained its orange colour. still felt i had to reapply every now and then once the balm moisture wore away but besides that i like the product as a whole and will definitely be looking to purchase more of the colours. there are 7 in total in some really pretty shades. i particularly liked the look of the violet one :) going to rate this 8/10

7) there is nothing i can say about this final product that would do it any justice!! i am in love with tangle teezers!!!! i bought this off a recommendation and wow i am so impressed! this is a staple accessory for any girl who has long hair who like me finds there hair knots and tangles easy, this brush/comb glides through my hair with complete ease leaving it soft and silky and lush <3 a must have!! will do a separate blog dedicated to these soon, as they deserve one. 10/10
