Rosacea is more than just redness of the skin. There are varying grades of rosacea with different symptoms that range from visible bumps along with redness to thickening of skin with potential induction of acne-breakout. Clarisonic Versus PMD Clean Start.....and the winner is??

Let me first start out by saying, if you aren't already using some sort of cleansing brush then I would strongly encourage you to do so immediately. Not only will a cleansing brush or device clean your face between 2-5x better than a washcloth or using your hands, but it will also allow your product to penetrate deeper and provide much better results. Now that we have covered this.....we can move on to the battle!

I have been a Clarisonic girl for almost 15 years now. I purchased my first one in my mid to late 20's and have been hooked ever since. I was swayed to try a Foreo by a rep a few years back and loved the fact that there would be no more replacement brushes, but couldn't get behind the way I held the device and it just didn't feel as if my face was getting as clean. But, since we recently added to our inventory the PMD Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Device and since it has been a few years, I decided to give it a whirl.

I get the PMD home and open the box....already dreading the whole having to charge it for a few hours before use, BUT much to my surprise there are no plugs and it is battery operated. This is automatically a plus for me. Why you ask? Well this means no more bathroom needed counter space for the base AND no wires. I was still curious to see if it would have the same amount of power behind it, but it definitely does!

It did take a few days of me getting use to not having the feel of the brush head. I also had gotten use to seeing the brush head get dirtied up with my makeup and/or product...I know, kind of strange, but it was good to see how much was coming off and I felt like once it was clear I knew my face was completely clean. However, I am not the best at replacing my brush heads and it can get really disgusting underneath. Additionally, the expense of having to replace the heads definitely adds up.

I have now been using the PMD Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Device for two weeks and I am in love! My skin actually looks smoother which completely surprised me as I was only hoping for it to match the Clarisonic. I have officially made the switch and below are the reasons why.

PRICE - The PMD Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Device is significantly less expensive than a Clarisonic (Clarisonic ranges from $129-$350 and the PMD is only $99). In addition, you no longer have to replace brush heads which is yet another savings. NO MORE CHARGING! - It would never fail that my Clarisonic would need to be charged at an inopportune time....but not any more! As long as I have a battery, I am good to go!
MORE COUNTER SPACE AND NO MORE WIRES! - This is a complete personal preference, but I am enjoying the extra counter space since I no longer have the base AND really loving not having any wires. Granted, I could have kept it underneath my bathroom sink, but when you are charging it so often, it just ultimately ended up staying out.
SIMILAR IF NOT EXACT MODES - The PMD also offers 3 different speeds along with the anti-aging massage option.

So.....it's official. I am now a PMD Clean girl!! Give it a try, I assure you you won't regret it!

Having been in the beauty industry for almost 15 years now, I have tried my fair share of products.... most especially facial cleansers. I have been using and loving Rx Systems products for years now, but only just recently discovered...and by recent I mean yesterday... the Rx Systems Reparative Lip Gel.

My lips are usually always a bit dry, but with the colder weather now arriving, it has gotten a lot worse and even earlier in the season than previous years. I was stocking inventory and noticed the Rx Systems Reparative Lip Gel, so I decided to give it a try.

Typically when I start to use any lip product, it will only help the appearance of my lips while I have it on, but then afterward, my lips seem worse than what they were before using the product. I will be honest, I'm not certain if this is possibly because I don't have the patience to "wait it out" but after reading the information and instructions on these products, there was never any information advising to give it a period of time.

So....imagine my surprise... that with this product my lips are actually improving in dryness and even the actual texture of my lips. I didn't realize it was an anti-aging product until after I started using it, but I can completely tell and it's only been two days. I am kicking myself for not taking before and afters! :)

NOTE: I have been using this product during the day, which I just realized it is suppose to be used in the evening. I know...I should have read the instructions in their entirity, but we are in the midst of prepping for Black Friday/Cyber Monday so I literally just grabbed, glanced, and applied. However, this completely makes sense and I absolutely recommend since yesterday when I went to grab a drink of water after applying 30 minutes before there was definitely a taste associated with the product. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. :)

Because you used primer, your eye shadows will remain true to color and any fallout from the eye pigments, shadows or glitters used will be minimal. A quick tip from our residential make-up artist is to apply eye shadows first (especially heavier, bolder looks) before your foundation. Even though fallout is extremely limited due to Get a Grip primer being used, to avoid any smudging or discolorations, it is always best to apply shadows first and complete the look with your full-face foundation, contour, et cetera after. Once Get a Grip is applied, you can easily transition into your selected look for day or evening. Because you used Get a Grip, your eye shadows will remain true to color and any fallout from the eye pigments, shadows or glitters used will be minimal. Another plus about Pur’s Get a Grip is the ease of blending when used. Sometimes eye shadow primers can be so tacky and sticky it makes it harder to blend your shadows with fluidity. Billy Jealousy: NOT Just for Men!

Alright beautystoredepot divas and gents, it's that time of the year where we start doling out the specials on all of our exclusive brands! Hydroplane Super-Slick Shave Cream is pretty self explanatory. As a shaving agent, it helps the razor to glide on top of the skin without nicking to reduce inflammation and provide a more efficient shave. I found this to be true with hydroplane as my razor slid a top my skin leaving it silky smooth and smelling amazing! With a frictionless shave and refreshing fragrance from the essential oils that produce an amazing aroma, I find this to be a winner for both men and women alike!
White Knight Gentle Daily Facial Cleanser was the next product I tried from Billy Jealousy and it threw me for a loop. I was not at anticipating such a rich lather, but knowing that it is a primarily men's face wash I can see how that would help with softening the hair follicle to help while shaving coarse facial hair. Even though the cleanser has a rich lather you feel squeaky clean due to the Willow Bark & Papaya Enzyme ingredients that provide mild exfoliation and remove dead skin cells. Additionally, it removed ALL of my make up and left no residue or greasy feeling on my skin. Which was a pleasant surprise considering it was so creamy and rich.

Next was the Fuzzy Logic Strengthening Shampoo. I absolutely adored this shampoo! It smells like the holidays rich in Peppermint and it left my hair thoroughly clean without feeling dried out. Definitely a clarifying shampoo but I very much appreciated the cleansed and NOT dry feeling once I finished with my shower. This is actually a DHT blocking shampoo that helps fortify hair especially at the crown of the head from those experiencing hair loss in that area. This is generally due to an increased production in DHT and considering both men and women experience this pattern of hair loss, this is another great product to share with your partner.
The final product I reviewed was the a Illicit Body Wash. This body wash smells like the way I’d imagine a man’s man to smell. And I could bathe myself with it every day! This body wash is rich in notes of citrus, bergamot, tea, ivy and sandalwood leaving my senses invigorated and, most importantly, my skin completely soft and moisturized.

How to Balance Dehydrated Skin

Experiencing flaking around the nose and inner cheek area? Is your skin a bit duller than usual? Are you seeing accelerated signs of aging? Climate change, lifestyle, sun exposure, age and even the incorrect skin care can all be contributing factors to dehydrated skin. Luckily, dehydration is a condition that can be corrected with an increase in water consumption as well as the induction of the proper skin care into your routine. iS Clinical Active Serum - The Genie In The Bottle

Skincare. There is so much involved in that one word. Is it one word? Is it two?

It's actually both. What I mean by this is that "Skincare" refers to the actual cosmetics, facial cleansers, moisturizers, serums, etc. to care for the skin. "Skin Care" is the actual act of using said items. In the world of skincare both are essential. The products are important as well as how they are used is equally as significant. The order in which they are applied and when blah blah blah....There's a lot involved here and it can but utterly confusing to decide what products to use and what's best. I'm creeping up on my 46th birthday (ouch!) and have used numerous skincare brands for years. Growing up I really didn't care all that much. Dove? Great. Neutrogena? Wow! That's an improvement. And that's about as serious into skin care that I ever got for many many years. Luckily my skin during my teen years was pristine. I rarely had a blemish and I was very proud of this fact since I knew that many of my classmates were struggling with this difficult issue. I felt very fortuitous. But that eventually changed...

I had an accident back in 2014. I received 2nd and 3rd degree burns on my face, neck, chest and all the way down to my waist. My face received the worst burns. Being a freelance professional makeup artist for many years, this didn't seem like it would be good advertising for my business. I've never really considered myself "vain" but I was deeply upset about this and desperately wanted to heal these wounds hopefully with little to no scarring.

I took all of the necessary steps to help these wounds heal, but I was still left with some substantial scarring. Especially on my face. I was incredibly excited to have our company representative drop off a sample for me to try a few weeks ago. The EltaMD UV Replenish is best described as a cross between the ever popular EltaMD Clear SPF 46 and the equally as popular EltaMD UV Sport. Both the Clear and the Sport are products that I keep in my beach bag, kids sports bag, and in my home throughout the year. I love how smooth the Clear goes on and how quickly it absorbs, but it isn't water resistant and therefore not the best choice for longer periods of time in the sun. Here is where the EltaMD UV Sport comes in. This product is amazing and my "go to" for longer periods of sun exposure. It is water resistant, long lasting, and no one in my family has ever had a sunburn while using the product, but it does go on heavier and not the best option for acne prone skin.
