After searching we found out what these skittles emotions are about, it turns out to be that skittles are running a promotion on bebo.

Michael Birch, CEO of Bebo.com:

He pointed to a campaign that Bebo ran with Skittles, letting users place Skittles-branded Web "skins" on their pages. "We don't force it on anybody. People opt into it and every day we get around 300,000 views of the Skittles skin on people's profile, so they are promoting Skittles to their friends, but they are opting in. You have to go out and pitch this to an agency," he said.

And Jim Scheinman from Bebo talked about how a user mentioned one weekend that he ate 14 packs of Skittles. He said that the user started to become a "representative" for Skittles on Bebo, drawing more attention to the Skittles brand. Last night new smiley's appeared on bebo these new emotions are called Skittles.

You can find the new tags under where you write a comment or blog, unlike the bebo, moon and clover tags which don't appear below where you find the original smileys and tags.

Are these advertisement for skittles, did they sign a deal with bebo how knows.

New social networking site attempts to woo punters.

A new social networking website - originally begun as a graduate project by a DIT student - is primed to go head-to-head with Bebo in a bid to attract users.

Nimble.ieis an online community which, like MySpace, enables web users to get - and stay - in contact with friends and family. The online community provides an easy way for users to create a presence on the internet, and add "friends" to their network.

Nimble.ie is hoping to woo people away from established social networking sites, particularly Irish Beboers, by offering more entertaining functions than its competitors, and by including plenty of local information to keep users up to date on news and new developments

Modules lets you costume your page/profile by changing is order layout.

Costume Widgets Modules

Yo, you can now put your widgets into their own stand-alone modules, which you can position and name as you like! So you could make your voice comments widget stay on your page even as you add slideshows, or you could put 1 slideshow at the top of your page and remove the rest of your widgets if you wanted to. It's up to you!

To get started: click "View" on a widget then click "Create Custom Module" and give it a name. Voila! Your widget is in it's own module on the top of the right column! Tired of it? You can put it in Unused Modules, or just Delete it and the widget runs back to the Widgets area. Can't wait to see what module names you guys come up with...

Photo Polls

We have yet another cool new feature to announce. Now you can add photos to polls. It's pretty simple to use, just go to your profile and create a new poll. You will see a link that says "add photo". Now, each choice in your poll can have a photo instead of just text. So, now you can do polls like "what outfit looks best on me?" or "which one of these babes is the fittest?" or even "which one of these people is actually me?" (in case you forget). We will be using photo polls later this week in our t-shirt contest (http://tshirts.bebo.com) to determine the winner of the people's choice award. We hope y'all like this new feature, let us know.

1. Login to your account.

2. Click on the Bands tap at the top of the page.

3. Find a band's profile that you wish to download from.

4. Once on the band's profile page, right-click on the page & select View Source.

5. The source code of the web page should be presented in Notepad (if not, you can copy and paste it into Notepad).

6. Hold down the Ctrl+F keys or click Edit and select Find

7. In the find dialog box, type getPlayer(escape('.

8. The address that follows the searched for text will be the address bar of the mp3 file. (from the
http:// to the mp3)

9. Copy the complete address into a new window of your browser and hit go, save the file to your
computer.

10. While the mp3 tags will be correct, the file itself will have a numeric file name. Chance the
filename so that it makes better sense.

Viewing Blocked Bebo

These are the best ways around blocked IP address filters at school, collage or work.

1. Use a proxy server service to enter the sites.
A proxy server page will ask you for the url and you type it in and it takes you there, but the browser thinks you are at the other page, so no restrictions.

2. Change your proxy settings.
to change your settings on Firefox...

Click on Tools
Go 2 Options...
In Options.. select the Advanced option
In Advanced click the Network tap
Under Connection click Settings...
Change your setting to Manual proxy configuration

to change your settings on Internet Explorer

Click Internet Options
Click Connections

If you use Dial-Up connection: choose your connection and click Settings button.
If you use LAN connection, click LAN Settings button - in the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings group box;
Enable use a proxy server;
In fields 'Address' and 'port', type proxy name and proxy port
If nessesary, enable bypass proxy server for local address;
Click Ok;
Click Ok to close IE settings.
