This is definitely not a finished work yet. I'm experimenting with using animals as a subject to paint. I haven't found a way to manage to put them in my own context yet which is the problem I'm trying to solve at the moment.

The merging of real and surreal is something that continues to intrigue me. I believe that through this combination of painting and photography there is a new form of understanding your surroundings which is awakened in the viewer.

There is a multidimensional complexity which exists in this fusion of two things so remotely opposite.

And yet somehow, despite the obvious differences in mediums, a new sphere of existence and understanding is created through the combination of paint and photography.

From The Beach To The City

I went to the beach today, and then drove into downtown. This holiday phase will be an opportunity for me to be incredibly creative and active. I will especially focus on experimenting with new techniques and challenge the previous boundaries I've had.

The Relationship Between Objects and People

With these three pieces I attempted to illustrate a very literal approach to the relationship between objects and people. The canvas is the actual object and there are up to three dimensions incorporated into the piece. In order to understand and view the work entirely, the viewer must interact with the object, in other words "look inside" the frame. The objective is to find a deeper individual understanding towards one's own relationship to the piece (the "object").

Study 2: Relief

This is the second study for my coming up 40" x 40" canvas dealing with the subject of humans and objects. I took it very literally by making the viewer interact with the piece (having to look "inside" the object) in order to view it entirely. I can't wait to finish the bigger piece!
