This is a worldwide collection from my days as an aircraft carrier chef. Guests of Museum Hill Bed and Breakfast enjoy reading and taking away new cooking ideas. The "Bed and Breakfast Recipe Guru" (me!) welcomes all to the Guru's "360" blog, a sharing of recipes from the archive, cooking ideas, and of course good wine!! And when you are looking for a place to getaway, come to the hill to stay!

<atom10:link xmlns:atom10="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" rel="self" type="application/rss+xml" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/BedAndBreakfastRecipeGuru" />
<atom10:link xmlns:atom10="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" rel="hub" href="http://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com/" />

Cheeseburger Salad

Hello from Museum Hill Bed and Breakfast in St. Joseph MO. Its been a while since my last post, I have been working on re-designing the recipe web index and adding in new recipes. The new site is more user friendly and allows me to add in new recipes more efficiently. I will be building the index and continuing to add new recipes, so there will be plenty more good food ideas coming online from the Bed and Breakfast Recipe Guru:)

With Spring here, this salad from the Museum Hill recipe archives is a festive way to enjoy a nice afternoon or evening while firing up the bbq grille for a picnic with family and friens. A refreshing salad incorporating the luxury of grilling a cheeseburger in keeping with a healthy meal. A glass of good red wine would also compliment the dish. Or even some sun tea (my favorite way to make ice tea). As a variation try using Buffalo burger patties and melt some blue cheese on top before serving.

A really cool idea to enjoy the Spring would be to book a stay on Museum Hill Bed and Breakfast's online booking and take a visit to the Patee House Museum. This museum truly captures "how it was" back in the day during the beginnings of the West and how people live. During your visit there, the museum has a old "saloon" that you can order fresh popcorn or a Sassafras Pop, a refreshing Spring type beverage. The soda is a real treat in in itself, it reminds me of the Birch Beer soda that was popular back in the East.

Enjoy the recipe and Spring and take a road trip to Museum Hill!!!

Sincerely,

The Bed and Breakfast Recipe Guru

Southwest Style Meatballs

Hello Everyone,

Well the Bed and Breakfast Recipe Guru has been busy this past month and a half, working on new ideas and recipes. I just finished a video highlighting some of the food served at Museum Hill Bed and Breakfast. It is on a new web page that showcases this Missouri Bed and Breakfast as a destination all its own. And it truly is. St. Joseph Mo. is full of Victorian Style architectural history that is seen no where else in the country.

The following recipe is my own version of a meatball with some kick. I grew up in South Jersey near the Philadelphia area and the Italian food there is the best ever, however the meatballs needed a little spike. Try this with your spaghetti sauce and add a whole new dimension to Spaghetti and Meatballs. I also recommend a good red wine from the The Riverwood Winery just outside of St. Joseph. Enjoy the recipe and if you are looking for a good road trip, come and experience this NW Missouri Bed and Breakfast on the hill. Make your reservations today!!!

Sincerely,

The Bed and Breakfast Recipe Guru

Southwest Style Meatballs

German Goulash Soup

Hello from the Hill!! It has been a while, been working on a new home page for that is now live for Museum Hill Bed and Breakfast and full of exciting content. Well the Bed and Breakfast Recipe Guru has a got an awesome recipe here from my cooking library that is sure to please.

This soup is a great meal all by itself and goes extremely well with a good beer. I highly recommend Boulevard Beer, brewed in Kansas City. A good fresh green salad with a light vinagrette dressing also compliments this dish very well.

German Goulash Soup

Enjoy everyone!! And if you need a place to getaway, this Northwest Missouri Bed and Breakfast is the place to stay!!

Sincerely,

The Bed and Breakfast Recipe Guru

Chicken with a kick

Hello from the hill!! This recipe I picked up from a fast food court restaurant in a Dubai mall. The dish originates from Indonesia and is excellent with flat bread. Also good with this would be an Israel white wine called Sarik. Any good sweet white wine will also compliment the dish nicely. My St Jo Mo Bed and Breakfast Travel Blog article titled The Northwest Missouri Experience also highlights a self guided day trip to two regional wineries while staying at Museum Hill Bed and Breakfast. Both wineries have awesome selections of white wine that would also be a good choice for this recipe. So make it a short getaway and take a day with an elegant stay at a beautiful Inn. Enjoy and let me know how it comes out.

Jalepeno Chicken with Rice

Sincerely,

The Bed and Breakfast Recipe Guru
