Run United Rallies Filipinos to be “Exceed Yourself” in 2013 Longer distances and focused approaches mark this year’s run races

Mark your calendar runners, the 2013 Run United series is set to bring in more excitement and a lot of surprises to this year’s running calendar. Unilab Active Health (ULAH) and RunRio Inc. promise longer distances that are big on fun and prizes, starting off with 2013 Run United 1on March 17 at the Mall of Asia grounds in Pasay City.

Ever responsive to the runners’ feedback, Unilab Active Health and RunRio are now focusing on longer distances to be in step with the requirements of progressive runners who want to better their personal records and outdo themselves in every race.

“We noticed a trend during the previous years’ races that the slots for longer distances get filled up faster. There were instances when we had to open up more slots. So, by focusing on longer distances, we will be able to accommodate more runners,” said Alex Panlilio, Head of Unilab Active Health.

Coach Rio dela Cruz added: “This is in line with our plan to be part of the growth and journey of Filipino runners. It just goes to prove that the local running community is more mature, that is why we also launched the Run United Philippine Marathon (RUPM) last year. Filipino runners have leveled up.”

Thus, there will be no more 3km category in Run United, but it will retain the 500-meter dash for kids to make them start having an active lifestyle early on. The race categories for 2013 Run United 1 include 5km, 10km and 21km; for Run United 2 (10km, 21km, and 32km); and for Run United Philippine Marathon (10km, 21km and 42km).

If runners loved the singlets of previous Run United races, they would definitely rave about the improved singlets this year, which are made of new fabric designed to help improve the performance and comfort of the runners.

Better and useful items will still be part of the finishers’ token. And the unique united medal will still be given away to encourage participants to complete the series. Of course, the Unilab Active Health villages will still be jampacked with activities and freebies for the participants and their families.

The complete Run United 2013 race schedules are as follows: Run United 1 on March 17, Run United 2 on June 2 and Run United Philippine Marathon on October 6. Prior to these, The Bull Runner Dream Marathon will kick off on February 24.

For triathletes, Tri United 1 2013 on March 10, 2013 and Tri United 2 2013 on July 7, 2013 both will be held in Playa Laiya, Batangas. Tri United 3 2013 on October 26-27, 2013 in Subic and the fourth and final leg of Tri United will be fired off in Ayala, Alabang on November 24, 2013. Moreover, Unilab Active Health Duathlon will be on September 8 at SCTEX, Clark, Pampanga.

Ceelin Plus launches “Kontra Sakit, Kontra Liit” campaign

2012-12-05T10:57:00.001+08:00

Ceelin Plus, a Unilab brand, has launched the “Kontra Sakit, Kontra Liit” campaign to increase awareness about growth stunting and highlight the importance of strong immunity to help combat the said condition. The campaign also promotes vitamin C and zinc preventive supplementation to boost the immune system and prevent sickness, thereby resulting in normalized growth and preventing growth stunting.

According to health experts, Vitamin C forms part of the body’s natural immune system and stimulates the activity of antibodies and immune cells while zinc is required for the normal development and maintenance of the immune system. The children will greatly benefit from regular intake.

Growth stunting can be prevented by increasing immunity against repeated illness and by nourishing the kids properly. According to meta-analysis, preventive supplementation of 10mg/day of zinc has the most significant effect on linear length in children less than five years of age.

Health experts say that one way to keep children healthy and prevent growth stunting from happening is through Vitamin C and Zinc supplementation. The key in fighting recurring sickness is to feed a child’s immune system. Vitamin C is one of the top immune boosters that aids growth and development while Zinc influences hormonal regulation of body growth contributing to a child’s growth.

To know more about growth stunting, its relationship with immunity and and how to prevent this increasing health issue among Filipino children, visit the Ceelin Plus “Kontra Sakit, Kontra Liit” website at www.ceelinplussteps.com and like CeelinPlus on Facebook for more updates and tips.

No Deposit Play!

2012-09-17T21:58:00.000+08:00

As I child, I remember I love playing Bingo. Once a year, there a Bingo set up on our plaza and would last for almost a month there. The first day of the game is always free and the prizes ranges from money to household items. It was really fun winning without spending!

With the advancement of technology, we know that playing bingo and other games can now be done at the comfort of our homes. And yes even in our pajamas! Most online gaming sites would ask for deposit before you can play. At casinobonus2.com, you can play without deposit. You can find no deposit bonus codes and use it to play your game or games without deposit. And yes you can cash out your winnings! By playing with no deposit bonus, you can get $5-$500 casino bonus and if you will play by wagering requirements, you can cash out real money! Now, that is what gaming is all about.

More than just the winnings, I always believe that playing games, may it be online or offline is a stress reliever. I know a lot of people who would spend a hefty amount of money just to relax and play. Playing without deposit is a real deal for those who see playing as a very relaxing activity.

Run United 3

2012-08-28T06:47:00.001+08:00

All set for the third leg of the Runrio Trilogy 2012 on September 16

Run United is back, after a nearly three-month break. And as the cliché goes, ‘the third time is a charm’. Last year, in fact, a record number of runners estimated at over 14,000 participated in Run United 3.

Run United 3, the third leg of the Run Rio Trilogy, has always been much anticipated because it offers what is dubbed as the ‘Afroman distance’ or 32k category—not usually included in other run races. Of course, on top of the other race categories: the Ceelin 500m dash, 3k, 5k, 10k, and 21k.

“The 32k Afroman Distance in RU3 can be a preparatory race for the full 42.195km category in the upcoming 1st ever Run United Philippine Marathon slated on October 28. RUPM will still have the shorter categories: 500m dash, 3K, 5K, 10K, and 21K.” said Alex Panlilio, Head of Unilab Active Health (ULAH).

Meanwhile, according to premiere race organizer Coach Rio dela Cruz, the runners’ anticipation over Run United 3 will be all worth it as new features and surprises await them on September 16. For one, there will be new routes as well as different starting and finish lines again for Run United 3 in the 21K and 32K categories, like in the previous two races for 21K.

The 32K runners will have a gun start at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) starting at 3am, an hour ahead of the 21k runners. They will be led from BGC to take their first 10k in University Parkway area, then move up to Kalayaan Flyover. Then, they will go all the way down to Buendia, take left at Roxas Boulevard, turnaround taking the roads of Vicente Sotto, Diosdado Macapagal and on to EDSA before finally turning left at Seaside Boulevard for the finish at the Mall of Asia (MOA).

The 21k will have an earlier gun start at 4am compared to Run United 2’s 430am. They will have the same route as the 32k runners, but instead of going to EDSA they will turn right after Macapagal Avenue, turning right at Seaside Boulevard and then all the way to the finish line in MOA.

“Run United 3 runners will get to run across three cities— Taguig, Makati and Pasay. Based from the feedback we got from them, they really enjoyed the experience and the new routes. The earlier gun start of both race categories will give runners a safer route as well,” said Dela Cruz of RunRio Inc., the race organizer.

Online registration for Run United 3 started on August 6 and will continue until September 2, 2012. In-store registration will start on August 13 and will be up to September 9, 2012. Registration venues include Riovana in BGC and Katipunan, Quezon City; and Toby’s at SM Mall of Asia and Trinoma.

The runners will receive their complete race kits upon registration (Active Health Sun Visor, Singlet, Bib with B-Tag and wrist tag for 500m dash runners). The wrist tag for 500m dash kid’s runner which is usually given on race day will now be included in their race kits upon registration.

Run United 3, which is for the benefit of Gawad Kalusugan and Children’s Hour, is part of the ULAH running series. Run United started with only 8,000 runners when it was launched in March 2010 and the numbers have steadily grown in succeeding events. An estimated 14,000 runners participated during its last offering— at 2012 Run United 2.

Run United 1 on March 4 started off this year’s RunRio Trilogy, followed by Run United 2 last June 17. Runners who completed all the longest distances (21k-21k-32k) in all of the three Run United races will be recognized at the RunRio Trilogy Awards Night.

Fun and exciting activities await runners and their family at the Active Health Village, new and bigger Active Kids Zone, Runners’ Lounge, I-Connect Zone, The Food Pavilion and Health, Sports, & Leisure Zones.

Coca-Cola Concert ng Bayan unites Pinoy Youth to Celebrate 100 Years of Happiness

Coca-Cola Concert ng Bayan unites Pinoy Youth to Celebrate 100 Years of Happiness Craig David joins Gary Valenciano, Sarah Geronimo & Other Top Pinoy Musicians to sing the Sound of Happiness

Once again, Coca-Cola made happy history with a massive nationwide concert party for the Filipino youth to celebrate its 100th year in the Philippines - the Coca-Cola Concert ng Bayan!

The rocking concert party, which gathered Pinoy teens from all over the country unfolded at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds last March 23, 2012 and simultaneously shown live in key locations nationwide including SM Baguio, SM Lucena, SM Cebu and SM Davao and streamed via coca-cola.com.ph, allowing everyone across the country and the world to be part of the energizing music, the unlimited festivities and of course, the overflowing happiness.

“The Coca-Cola Concert ng Bayan is our gift to the Filipino teens whose positive spirit, refreshing creativity and passion for happiness have always been indestructible. In tandem with our Coca-Cola Happiness President Caloy, they have made this historic event possible! In this epic year, we are all-out in giving the whole nation more and more reasons to be happy. The last 100 years would not have been a success if not for the Filipinos who made Coca-Cola part of their everyday lives,” said Guillermo Aponte, president and general manager, Coca-Cola Philippines.

The grandest leg of its centennial celebration in the country to date, the groundbreaking music fest did not only witnessed the epic joining of forces of top Pinoy bands including Parokya ni Edgar with Gloc 9, Sandwich with Jay Durias, 6-Cycle Mind with Eunice & Kleggy, Callalily with Ebe Dancel, Rico Blanco with Never the Strangers and Itchyworms, SpongeCola with Chicosci, Ely Buendia with Pupil and Wolfgang plus DJ QYork but also a refreshing collaboration by sought-after, A-list performers Gary Valenciano and Sarah Geronimo as well as fast-rising electro-pop artist Somedaydream, for the infectiously fun and upbeat, chart-topping Coca-Cola 100 Years anniversary anthem, Tuloy.

The musical extravaganza, which lasted for more than ten hours, featured back to back to back showstoppers and culminated to a groundbreaking building projection and fireworks display that further ignited happiness through the whole venue and beyond. The visual spectacle signifies the long-standing relationship between Coca-Cola and the Filipinos throughout the years; 100 years of shared happiness that shall continue to flourish in the next century! On top of all these, raffle draws were held in between segments by the masters of the day: TV hosts Robi Domingo, Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola, Monster RX 93.1 DJ Gino Quillamor and Myx VJs Mike Advincula, Joyce Pring, Chino Lui-Pio and Bianca Roque. Lucky winners got to take home one year supply of Coca-Cola and other delightful premium items.

And again, that’s not all! The high-spirited Coca-Cola Happiness President Caloy also made an appearance before legions of fun-loving teens, sharing a few words of happiness and thanksgiving for the constant and unmatched support Pinoys are giving Coca-Cola.

Indeed, there’s no better way to finally close the school season and welcome a fun-filled summertime than rocking out with an ice-cold Coke in hand! And the best part? Craig David was there to join the party! Yes, the international R&B superstar came all the way from the other side of the globe to be part of Philippine music history and to open and share the sound of happiness across the whole nation with Coca-Cola! Yet, through all the fun fare, Coca-Cola also got to remind everyone about the value of proper garbage disposal and recycling. As part of its Live Positively commitment, specially designed mesh bins were set-up in strategic locations within the venue to ensure partakers dispose off their used cups, food wrappers and other trash properly.

No question, the epic Coca-Cola Concert ng Bayan signals the start of a summer filled with even bigger surprises as the 100th year celebration of Coca-Cola gets to a whole new high. And we can only be sure our favorite beverage brand shall continue to collaborate with every single Pinoy to give the whole nation nothing less than refreshing happiness!
