The current border crisis where tens of thousands illegal adults and children flooding across the U.S. border sounds eerily reminiscent of a tactic used by leftist "community organizers' of which President Obama claims credentials. Journalist Sol Stein wrote an interesting piece back in 2003 about the origins of ACORN and it's predecessor's attempts to overwhelm New York City's welfare system which seems to mimic the flood of illegal aliens crossing our border:

"It is no surprise that ACORN preaches a New Left–inspired gospel, since it grew out of one of the New Left’s silliest and most destructive groups, the National Welfare Rights Organization. In the mid-sixties, founder George Wiley forged an army of tens of thousands of single minority mothers, whom he sent out to disrupt welfare offices through sit-ins and demonstrations demanding an end to the “oppressive” eligibility restrictions that kept down the welfare rolls. His aim: to flood the welfare system with so many clients that it would burst, creating a crisis that, he believed, would force a radical restructuring of America’s unjust capitalist economy. The flooding succeeded beyond Wiley’s wildest dreams. This sounds exactly like the current Federal Government plan to flood communities with these illegal aliens and already has overwhelmed the Federal Government agencies like the Border Patrol and Health and Human Services. Considering President Obama's roots in community organizing and those in the White House who also have roots in leftist "community organizing" it just might be the current flood of illegal immigrants into the U.S. was a planned all the time by folks in the Obama Administration.

I saw a clip recently where Jon Stewart praised MSNBC for it's fact checking and of course derided Fox News Channel. I had to laugh Stewart is so full of shi*t but, because he's on the liberal bandwagon he gets away with the notion that what he says is fact and not just something he or his writers just pulled out of their ass. The comment about how good MSNBC' fact checking is just one example of Stewart's false narratives. Here's today's exhibit A:

TIME TO DUCK THE A&E CABLE CHANNEL

I have never watched Duck Dynasty and probably never will but, I am still outrage at the suspension of one people of the popular reality show for expressing his views on homosexuality in a publication outside of the cable channel. Seems to me A&E should change their logo to A&C where the C stands for censorship. Like I said I would probably never watch the Duck Dynasty program. Actually I can't because over two years ago I gave up my Cablevision cable and have never regretted the decision and neither has my wallet. I miss nothing and by spending my time in new media I also keep up on the outrages like the politically correct BOZO thinking of the A&E censors. John Nolte has an interesting question about this in his latest blog:

"Can A&E afford to alienate all eleven million "Duck Dynasty" viewers by punishing a Christian for expressing Christianity?"

He also makes a good point about how if you want to stop this kind of censorship on cable there is something you must do:

"If you want to really hurt A&E, you are forced to go to the extreme of canceling the entire cable package that comes with A&E, and that could mean losing channels you do like and want to support. It might even mean cutting the cord entirely and having no cable television. And if you do cancel your cable, be sure to tell them why, because a lot of people are cutting the cord these days.
Things aren't as bad as they used to be. There are now alternatives to cable like Netflix Streaming, Amazon prime, home video, etc. But not everything you might like is on there."

Having personally cut out cable over two years ago I can honestly say I don't miss it and I find more interesting things on the Internet in places like You Tube and other new media that are better uses of my time. If you still miss some of the shows they will still be available on other media at some point. It won't be the end of the world if you drop cable but, will open up a whole new one thanks to the Internet.
